    Important Note: Laco has recently upgraded their 821a movements to hack. So disregard any negatives mentioned about the non-hacking. I think this inclusion makes these even more of a no-brainer.

    I have this one and love it. The lume is off the chart good and watch is very comfortable to wear. I know a big deal was made on the watch movement downgrade to get it in the price range but mine tracks very well and does have hacking. If it wasn't for the Eza Sealander I bought from Teddy on my wrist right now it would be this Laco watch

    Thank you for this review! I don't mean to take any business away from your shop, but want to mention that Laco now offers two upgrades for the Augsberg and the Aachen: a somewhat upgraded and decorated Miyota movement, 8315, with 60-hour power reserve and hacking, and anti-reflective coating for the sapphire crystal. The movement upgrade is $70 USD, and the anti-reflective coating is $60 USD.
    These have to be purchased directly from Laco (I assume).

      It depends on your take. If you like the historical flieger heritage, go for laco. But if you prefer the Vietnam war field watch, take hammy. If you care about the specs, go for hammy because of its eta-based mechanical whose performance is better.

      Thanks for watching, Henry. On these, they are just for aesthetics, but on the originals that were strapped on during WWII they helped add an additional layer of leather underneath that was used to fasten these over flight jackets and the extra layer of leather also helped with protecting the skin from temperature changes in the cockpit.

    Nice Watch, but who wants to see that movement.

  • @watchalot919
    @watchalot919 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sorry, that's a lot of money for a watch with that movement. Escape time give you a better movement, sapphire crystal, and a much better water resistance. OK, Escape Time come out of Asia, but who really cares? If you want to pay for a brand with heritage, I can understand people buying it, otherwise I just don't get it. Finally, I don't understand 39mm Fliegers. Pilots watches are meant to be large, and even the 42mm is on the small side for a Flieger

    • @michaelchimenti4989
      @michaelchimenti4989 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some people have small wrists but like the Flieger aesthetic. For me, 42 mm is the absolute largest I can wear without looking silly. And as far as price, personally I'd rather have a watch with history and heritage of Laco going back almost 100 years than buying a knock off from "escape time" just for better specs. Fortunately, in a market economy there are companies that cater to all tastes.
