I own this watch (in 39 mm), and it's fantastic for the price! I would recommend it to anyone looking for an entry-level flieger.

Ive just bought this Laco Aachen, a wunderful flieger watch, had a IWC flieger chrono (type A) before and now this type B flieger watch. I like to recomend this watch to all.

I came to watch this video because i just bought this watch at a thrift shop, for just about 200 euros (no strap included), i knew nothing about it or the brand but the moment i saw it, i loved the looks of it. I had it on my wrist daily and i love it, it looks big but its actually lighter and more comfortable than other (mostly diver) watches that i own. Now that i know about the brand and its military heritage i like it even more and consider it a real bargain!
I have never been a big fan of these aviation pieces, but this is pretty impressive. Laco and Stowa make incredible watches. Anyway I prefer the type B dial's configuration.
A lot different from my Aachen I bought in 2012. Mineral glass, Miyota non hacking movement (and a lot cheaper at ~$280)
It's awesome, I'll definitely buy it in the next future!
My plan is to get the type B from Laco and later the type A from Stowa
A type B flieger without hacking misses the entire point. I'm glad laco made the right decision.
I really like Laco watches. I wanted to ask if it’s worth getting the Swiss movement upgrade or stick with the Miyota option?
Just to ask, are these actually cased/assembled in Germany vs another country?

You took as example lume shots of different model , this particular model has lumed every dial index not as on your shots
I like it, and might order one.. but just wish it wasn't so tall, the length on both sizes are perfect, can we just make a new model more classic like say 10mm height or less?

How many hours of power reserve does this watch have?
Lume shot is not of the Aachen - there is lume missing on the hour numberings, and every other minute markings, the crown is from the higher Laco range.

I noticed on your video about the Augsburg (A dial) you said that it did NOT hack. But, this Aachen with the same 821A movement DOES. What is the difference?

Hey teddy. I’m very interested in the Maurice Lacroix 39mm automatic. Do you think is the best or one of the best watches with solid specs for the price? This would be my first luxury watch. So I was thinking do you think it’s very good value for the money for a young guy like me who likes the Vacheron sports watch and want something of that styling 😂. Wrist size is 6in, so would it work very well with its 44.8 l2l? Thanks for you feedback and keep up the great work!
Hi Ricky, it is a very well made watch. And the only caveat I was going to throw in there was that it is definitely an inspired design but you mentioned that you want something of this style and dropping money on a Vacheron is a crazy amount of money. The 39 mm version should fit fine on your wrist as mine is not much bigger. If you have questions though, I would be happy to chat through it over the phone. I don't like the new strap. The one mine came with a couple years ago had bigger rivets and was way thicker and took longer to break in. It feels so sturdy. This one may be more comfortable at first, but won't last as long.
Have they got rid of the ghost position of the crown?
Teddy, how does the finishing of these Laco watches compare with, say, the Stowa flieger?
Compared to these, Stowa edges them out but they are more than double the price so that is expected. That said, the case finishing is not in another universe compared to these. I find that everything apart from the movement with this and the Augsburg hold up very well to the more expensive offerings. The added hacking definitely helps lessen that gap though.
This is the entry level Laco, they have others that are twice the price and are same as Stowa. I had a Laco Cuxhaven and absolutely loved it, looking to rebuy one if I can find a decent price as it was such a nice watch.
Hi Teddy, I like the augsburg and the aachen a lot, but I'm on the fence about the fact the dial markings have a green tinge to them due to the lume. Is this as big of a deal in person as it on camera? It makes the watch, to me, look quite a bit less attractive than if the indices and numbers were white (at least on camera - I haven't seen them in person). What are your thoughts on the green hue? Is it a bit of a deal breaker in your opinion? Thanks. Keep up the great reviews.
I've had the watch for a while, and yeah it is absolutely noticeable. I don't mind it, but I don't love it.

@@joshuagrooms9636 Just so you know, the green tint is noticeable, but every number on the face is lumed with BRIGHT lume. The best lume I've owned. The more expensive models have white numbers, but only have a dot of lume.
Major negative is the green tint of the lume. It’s consistently a green hue.

The Luftwaffe. It's just military history. IWC, Stowa, and Laco all have connections to German military watches.
Hi Teddy, other reviews and the laco website say this movement is non-hacking. Can you clarify?
Older versions have non-hacking but they've made newer versions with hacking. Just make sure to ask for it in the buy order or in an email because they likely have stock of the older versions that they may be selling simultaneously.

I bought the 42mm Aachen a few weeks ago. A couple of things to note - whilst I have another watch powered by a Miyota 8 series that's pretty good for accuracy, I have found this one not to be so. It's ~30 seconds a day fast at the moment and my entry level Seiko 5 is much, much better than that. Secondly, I'm put off with it having a 2 position crown with position 1 doing nothing but turning an imaginary /invisible date wheel. I know that sounds quite a minor thing but given the first point in it running fast, making adjustments using a 2 position crown that's been shoehorned into watch with no date display just reminds me that it's a budget piece every time I use it. For another ~£100 on top I've recently bought a Steinhart Nav-B Type A Handaufzug with an ETA Unitas 6497-1 in the back of it. The case is just as well finished, the dial just as well lumed and the strap is better quality. Accuracy is a bit early to tell but it's looking very promising so far. I'm tempted to shift the Aachen on and invest in a Type B with a better heart.

Disagree. German watch with Japanese heart is poetic, given the WW2 design. Gonna get this flieger specifically because of it.

Well he has hundreds of watches there, most of them far more expensive so it'd be just as good for him to recommend a more expensive watch seeing as would be making more revenue off it. But see it how ever you wish
