you're so pretty im in love with you already
Hi! I have normal to dry skin. I use the CeraVe hydrating cleanser as well as their moisturising lotion. I also use The Ordinary niacinamide and lactic acid 10% serum. I’ve only been using the lactic acid serum for a few days, every evening as I do not experience any irritation. This routine did not treat my main skin concern, which is closed comedones. I have little bumps on my chin and on my cheeks. I’m desperate to find a product that will finally get rid of them. I keep on hearing about salicylic acid but I’m scared that it is too drying for my skin. I have tried the CeraVe blemish control cleanser but I didn’t like it very much. Also, I want a cleanser that I can use both in the morning and in the evening, which makes this cleanser not very suitable. Do you have any recommendations? Also thank you a lot I really enjoy watching your videos they’re helping me a lot!
For the most effective treatment of closed comedones, a combination of methods is typically recommended, such as using retinoids and benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, along with regular gentle cleansing, and a professional extraction when needed (which can show immediate results).
So, I wonder if you have ever considered using a retinoid like adapalene 0.1%? This would likely show the best results. Of course, you would need to hydrate your skin well as it is already on the dry side. However, it might be more effective than the salicylic acid cleanser or serum.
Hi Melissa what is the different between the new one and the old one can an oily skin use it
Are you referring to their Acne Control Cleanser?
The Acne Control Cleanser contains 2% of Salicylic Acid, whereas the Renewing SA Cleanser does not specifically indicate how much Salicylic Acid is in it, which makes me believe that it contains less SA.
Personally, I prefer their Renewing SA Cleanser.
Thank u
Can I use this along with Paula’s Choice 2% Exfoliant? Both have Salicylic Acid.
Also, can I use this with the Cerave Resurfacing Retinol? I read somewhere that I should not.
technically, yes.
so i need help, i use the cerave foaming facial cleanser but i also want to get rid of the blackheads on my nose and chin so i could double cleanse, should i use the foaming facial cleanser first then the renewing cleanser just for my nose and chin?
The best advice I can give you is to get them extracted. Schedule an appointment with an esthetician and let her extract them for you. Inform her that you'd like to do it yourself with a tool next time and ask if she could show you how. That way, you'll be satisfied. :)
I have two questions.
1:which one is good for pigmentation and dark spots SA Renewing Cleanser or Blemish control Cleanser?
2:Does Blemish Control Cleanser also be used on Normal skin type?
Well, as I already pointed out, both options can work. However, with the Blemish Control Cleanser, you get a higher percentage of active ingredients, and you know exactly how much Salicylic Acid (SA) is included, which makes it a better choice from that perspective. I personally used to use the Blemish Control Cleanser but now use it irregularly, as the formulation can be a bit drying when used too often. And yes, the Blemish Control Cleanser can also be used on normal skin. I suggest using that one and alternating with a milder, hydrating foaming cleanser, such as Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser or Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Cleanser, to maintain a balanced skincare routine!
Where did you get your headband and wrist bands at?
I bought it from Amazon...it's like a 'Spa Set'😅
when using your cleanser do i rinse off with warm water to cold or does it prefer in the time of day from day time or night time?
Hey! :) I recommend using lukewarm to warm water, but avoid hot water :)
Could I possibly use this for clogged pores and little bumps on my face? (I have dry-combination skin I‘m pretty sure)
Yes :) or an AHA or a Retinol :)
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Thank you!! ☺️

Hi

yes
Can i use it i have mixed skin and clogged pores with black heads on my nose and i get acne from times to times
yes, you can.
If my skin isn’t dry do I need to moisturize it afterwards? Thanks for the video
no
Yes you do! Even if it is just SPF always apply. My dad is a dermatologist and he says always use a moisturizer or Atleast SPF
I been using cerave acne foaming cleanser with adapalene gel and la roche posay matte moisturizer in night. Should i change my cleanser?
If that's working well for you, then no, there is no need to change anything! :)
Started using this for closed comedones on cheek and then their scars, started getting them one year postpartum. I am doing combinations of the ordinary 2% salicylic acid +hyaluronic acid+moisturizer or niacinamide+hyaluronic acid+moisturizer or Paula's salicylic exfoliant+moisturizer or Estee Lauder anr serum+moisturizer during different days of the week along with this cleanser. But no luck with my closed comedones. Since I am nursing, can't use retinoids. I just got the ordinary azelaic acid suspension. But don't know what might help. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.
Well, honestly, the best thing you can do in that case is to ask your doctor. They can advise you on the ingredients you can and cannot use during nursing. Personally, I would not use any of these treatments. But essentially, what I want to say is, do not rely on any online advice.
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial thank you for the reply :)

I've hormonal acne which in in the form of cystic acne + i have oily skin. Will this SA renewing cleanser work better or the oily skin cleanser from cervae work better?
I would suggest looking more carefully at your diet, as the gut significantly influences our hormones. If there's a disconnection, you'll likely experience issues. By carefully adjusting your diet-such as avoiding added sugars and balancing it with more fish and cheese (ideally semi-aged, like Edam or Gouda)-I managed to get mine pretty well under control. Regarding the cleanser, I would opt for a milder version, something like the Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Cleanser, and focus on getting the rest under control through your diet. You can also follow my community tab here, where I publish my findings and share how I've been managing my acne by doing much less.

Hi. I don’t have acne problems but I’ve been having pimples on my face a lot lately which leave dark scars. Will this cleanser stop the pimples and clear my scars? Ps: I only use cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen in my daily routine
Since when have you been experiencing these pimples? How long have you been using your skincare products? Have you been experiencing more stress, lack of sleep, or have there been any changes in your diet-like consuming too many sugary foods/drinks?
Does cerave get rid of acanthosis nigricans
CeraVe is a skincare brand that offers a variety of moisturizers, cleansers, and other products to help maintain and improve skin health. However, it is not specifically designed to treat acanthosis nigricans.
Acanthosis nigricans is a skin condition characterized by dark, velvety patches of skin, usually found in body folds and creases. It is often associated with insulin resistance, obesity, and hormonal imbalances. To effectively address acanthosis nigricans, it is essential to identify and treat the underlying cause.
My advice is to visit a doctor so that they can examine your skin and provide suitable treatment.
Does it helps with closed comedones and rought skin texture?? Im so tired of these comedones nothing seems to workk 🙏🏻
No, it does not. However, have you already tried Glycolic Acid or a retinoid?
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial so what cleanser should i use then? I've tried tretinoin that didn't worked plus im planning to buy the glycolic n lactice blend by cerave (the nightly exfolianting treatment)
@@n00rie01 For how many months did you use tretinoin? But if that did not work, it may be best to visit a doctor.

Generally, yes, unless you are using a 1% retinol formulation. But if you are using low strength, it shouldn't be an issue."
I'm using the CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum, is that fine? And what exactly does "Normal Skin" mean? Can I use it if I have oily t-zone and dry cheeks?@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
Yes, this can work :) If too much dryness occurs, use the SA cleanser and/or Retinol serum less often.
Can teens use 2% salicylic acid cleanser? Or should they use less percentages??
If you are new to Salicylic Acid, it's best to start with a lower percentage if possible. However, you can also start with a 2% Salicylic Acid Cleanser and use it once per day, every other day instead of daily to see how your skin responds :)
can i use for combo skin
If you do not have any other skin concerns, no, I would use a non-exfoliating acid cleanser instead, like their Hydrating Cream To Foam Cleanser.
Does this help with uneven skin tone?
My neck and my face are super dark compared to my body. Is it also a way I can naturally lighten up or certain product
With that approach, it won't do much. However, the easiest way to protect your skin is by using a good sunscreen with high SPF and PA ratings. Even better would be to avoid the sun or wear protective clothing, allowing it to fade naturally. Although, be aware that this process can take months or even years.
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial I’m 21 and naturally is Beyoncé shade, but have a super dark tan. It’s so weird, but I’ll start wearing hats hoping it don’t take that long. Thanks for responding 😊
@@DoubleBeezy Well, you need to protect the neck entirely with suitable clothing and/or apply sunscreen as suggested; otherwise, it won't do anything. It's normal to have a slight shade difference. If it's significant, it could also be due to genetics. I mean, unless you are constantly exposed to the sun for several hours, in that case, nothing will help. ;)
Hi, which CeraVE helps to remove/prevent blackheads?
Or shall I use The Ordinary / Paula’s Choice sycracilic acid ?
You could try their Salicylic Acid Cleanser or, yes, a leave-on exfoliant like the one from The Ordinary. However, I find that extracting them with a tool and then maintaining it with an SA product works best.
Ahh thank you sooo much !! you actually replies! i appreciate sooo much !! will do that !

👍👍
Does it work for a sensitive face with acne?
Impossible to answer, because it depends on your personal sensitivity towards these ingredients.
I have just bought Cere Vee foaming clenser, snd SA smoothing cleanser how and when do i use them both?
Well, you could alternate and use them on different days. However, I believe that approach might be overly drying. I'd recommend getting a gentler cleanser, like the CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser or the Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Cleanser, to use in between and maintain a balanced routine.
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial so the hydrating foaming cleaner by Cere ve is better than the current foaming cleaner I have bought. I have acne scars and sensitive ish skin. And I use aveeno cream for location.
@@joshsingh2557 In the sense of using a foaming formulation that's more hydrating while also using CeraVe SA Cleanser, yes. However, if you have really oily skin, then it may not matter :)
Can it clear darkspots brighten skin tone
Are you referring to dark spots after acne? In that case, the skin needs time to heal them. How fast this is going to happen depends on your skin as well as how deep they are. You may be able to fade them with an AHA exfoliant, Alpha Arbutin, or Retinol. As for brightening the skin tone, are you referring to making your skin tone lighter?
Do we need to wash our face, dry it and apply the cleanser or after washing should we apply the cleanser to our wet skin sis?
as demonstrated in the video!
Can i use this with ordinary lactic acid and niacinamide serums?
Hmm, technically, yes. However, practically speaking, it can be a bit drying. Therefore, if you use these products in combination, it is advisable to include an additional moisturizing product, such as a light gel moisturizer, for optimal hydration.
Is it suitable for combination skin type?
yes
Can i use cold water before and after?
Warm water works better as it can more effectively remove the cleanser and impurities from the skin. However, using cold water is also an option.
Can you keep the cleanser on your face or do you have to wash it off?
Wash it off immediately after you have massaged it all over your face and neck.
can i use a face scrubber?
I'm not sure if doing this over and over again would work well without irritating the skin, though I haven't tried it!
Plz reply my question… I want to know that this cleanser works for removing blackheads or not??? Cause a lot of people r saying that this cleanser produce acne on skin plz reply
If you overuse it, it might cause acne due to excessive drying, which can weaken the skin's barrier. However, it does not work for blackheads. The only effective method for blackheads is extraction.
wait am i doing it wrong? is it okay if i use neutrogena moisturizer after washing?

Hi ,, thanks gor this video,,, i have oily acne prone sensitive skin,,, i am currently using neutrogena salicylic acid 2% facewash,,, and it works pretty well for me,,, but recently i saw videos in youtube saying prolonged salicylic acid causes skin thinning,,, is it true?

So, 2-3 times a week in the evening, you hop into the shower and use this cleanser to wash your face. Also, wash your hair with a mild baby shampoo. That's it. Hi please help , I have tiny bumps on my face and also blackheads on nose and whitehead on chin ۔۔۔۔ Tell me which one to use CeraVe products?
Take a look at their Acne Control/Blemish Control Cleanser. However, I recommend addressing the root cause of your concerns, such as your mental health, stress, lack of sleep, and/or your diet.
Are you german?
No, wieso?🤔
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Was just a guess by your accent. You playing with me saying "wieso" a german word? haha
No, I'm from Luxembourg, what you hear is a Luxembourgish accent, haha😅
Are you Mr. Smith from Matrix?🧐
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial I was close! Yes, good catch. "The Mr. Smith Effect". -- Thanks for the chat, I will subscribe for more content.
can i use on my nuts??
Oh, you're talking salicylic acid? 😂 A classic! Look, before we get too nuts here, let's clarify which kind we're talking about.
Almonds - They're already smooth as silk, no salicylic needed! 🌰
Cashews - I guess they could be even creamier? But maybe hold off on that acid peel. 🤔
Pecans - These guys are already the stars of pies; let's not make them beauty gurus too. 🥧
Walnuts - Brain-boosting and rugged, but I don't think they're looking for a new skincare routine. 🧠
Hex Nuts - A dab of WD-40 works wonders, forget the salicylic! 🔩
Brazil Nuts - So health-conscious but probably would pass on skincare treatments. 💪
The... ahem... other nuts - 👀 Consult a healthcare provider for that one, buddy. Seriously, that skin's sensitive!
So, before you go slathering that salicylic acid everywhere, maybe narrow down the 'nuts' in question. 😅
Desperdicias mucha agua😒
Hmm? Where?
Can we use it everyday?
Hmm, it depends on your skin tolerance. But from my experience, it's best to alternate with another gentle foaming cleanser.
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial okay thankyou so much!😊
