I love the Crane M3. I love how it’s so small but so powerful. I’m an apsc shooter so this can handle anything I through at it. I’ve been using the ZVE-10 with it. I heard people saying they were having issues with the Bluetooth module but I haven’t had any issues with mine knock on wood. I thought Brie microphone was gonna be a POS and cheesy feature to be honest but I love it. When I go to conventions and do interviews it’s works awesome. I can say anyone on the fence about it my experience has been awesome I love it. I am not a professional by any means. I have a podcast I shoot content for. With APSC this is great. We put my buddies A7Slll and it handled that too. Granted it was only for about an hour. Hope this helps. Great video as always man love the info in your videos.

The expansion base and wireless modules should had been part of the standard package. We're in 2022 and gimbals should come with wireless connectivity by default.
This is a great tutorial. It looks like you have a pretty heavy setup. My gimbal seems balanced, it even says so on the display, and then autocalibration. Still, I find it drifts once in use? Maybe it's the mode I have it on? ZV-E10 + SIGMA 16MM
Hi friend, you're recommended to check our tutorials of gimbal modes to see the "drifts" are caused by which axis. Or try the L mode to lock all the axes and see if the drifts are solved.

Thanks for the video. I bought the expansion base and bluetooth controller. I have followed every direction offered by Zhiyun and spent hours trying to get the bluetooth controller to pair with the gimbal. What especially frustrating is trying to community with the Chinese tech support at Zhiyun. I even contacted a tech expert at B&H and they were not able to get it connected.
@Black Queen Photography they would respond with multiple requests to send them a video of the problem. They were not able to fix the issue so I returned the gimbal. I think it’s a huge problem when a company does not offer any phone support, especially the Chinese companies who rely on email support with people who are not that good with the English language.

From the M3 camera cpmpatible list show that it support bluetooth control unit connect to control the Canon R50， it need to purchase the extra TransMount CRANE-M3 Expansion and Type-C Bluetooth control unit.

To check the balanced state first. if you didn't manually balance the gimbal well or turn off the axis lock funtion, then turn on it, gimbal will vibrate.

I did purchased the standard kit to use it with the nikon z6ii. As i can see in your comments now, there is no chance to control the cam via crane m3? Because the nikon is not controllable via cable (why not? Weebill S can do this!) and also there will be no bluetooth module and expansion base to buy separately. Hello Keanessa. With a customized quick release plate, you can swap camera battery directly but don't need to disassemble the release plate or rebalance the gimbal. I've attached the cable that came with the M3 to my ZV-1 and it's not controlling any functions at all. Isn't it supposed to control the zoom, start and stop recording and the shutter function to take still pictures? Or, is it just to keep the ZV-1 battery charged?

Brand new out of the box. Can't understand why it's not behaving to any of the modes. I followed every Tutorial and it's fully updated firmware and balanced correctly. It just goes to sleep and makes a sound every time I try to use a mode
@@taconasty I used to have this problem when I first purchased. and sometimes I still do. Press and hold the "M" button. it kinda acts like a full reset. try to balance then. it should work.
@@woodcraft_cz Yes! Check and make sure that the axis are going the correct ways. Then it becomes tidious. Make sure the camera is as close to the "Tilt" axis as possible. You may have to go back after you adjust the pan and redo the roll. Go back and forth with the roll and pan and it will calibrate.
@@EL2ube I eventually found the cause for me, it was the camera not sitting right in the Mount, I put a bit of rubber and it auto calibrated every time, unfortunately after the first auto calibration it started randomly vibrating as soon as I moved the unit and got progressively worse until it put itself into sleep mode, I couldn’t fix this issue so I’m returning it. Il try another unit in hope it was just a faulty unit

I think its important to mention that the joystick doesnt work when using portrait mode. A lot of videos are filmed sideways now a days and it seems the M3 isn't built for this type of video content.
Because the angle of the Portrait mode needs to be fixed, the angle will change if it is controlled by a joystick, thus limiting the function of the joystick.
Using crane m3 with iPhone 14 Pro, it’s going automatically to sleep mode when I move down or up by button. Calibration done, it’s stabilised when I checked. But still going automatically sleep mode . Any ideas how to fix?

This ISNT a tutorial but a marketing commercial!! They didnt tell you the truth. That on 80% of the camera's it WONT work. Neighter will the bluetooth module! And that is why the "helpdesk" of Zhiyun wont answer any of your question's when you send them emails.

When I plugged the extension base the camera records white noise, could be a pice problem or its something from the gimbal? The gimbal just arrived today, so it was a factory defect or something, because litteraly it was failing since first try.

@@WargaTerupdate finally got it. You need Zhiyun Crane M3 expansion base AND Type-C Bluetooth Control Module. Then certain camera settings. You need to put the Bluetooth Module into the Crane M3 expansion base, then turn on the Crane M3, wait for 3 seconds, the Crane M3 will connect the Bluetooth Unit well. Take out the Bluetooth Unit, and turn on it, when it bright a sold Blue light, the gimbal and Bluetooth Unit connect, then install it with the camera. Turn on the camera, waiting for the Bluetooth Unit with the camera connect, the camera must be M mode, the lens is AF mode. select "PC Remote" for your camera's "USB Connection", and make sure camera "USB Power Supply" is off. Should work. If not, it probably due to a bad Bluetooth module. I had to replace the first one I had. No it works! Annoying but worth it. Oh and Zhiyum customer service is great. Even tho their time zone is different, they do respond!

The wheel customized setting (aperture, shutter, ISO, zoom, roll axis), and can customize on the touch screen. Use with TransMount CRANE-M3 Bluetooth Control Unit for camera parameter adjustment. CRANE-M3 only provides stabilization for mobile phones and action cameras. Button controls are not supported.
Did anyone try the Crane M3 with Sony zv-e10 and Sony 18-105mm F4 lens? This particular lens is not included on the compatibility list but I see heavier lens from Sigma are on the list. Thanks in advance!

I did purchased the standard kit to use it with the nikon z6ii. As i can see in your comments now, there is no chance to control the cam via crane m3?
Because the nikon is not controllable via cable (why not? Weebill S can do this!) and also there will be no bluetooth module and expansion base to buy separately.

Hello, I’m looking at buying one of these as an upgrade from the Movi Cinema Robot for a iPhone 13 Pro Max with lenses and cage, etc. Will this gimbal connect to Filmic Pro app? I’d like to have direct control via the gimbal controls. If not, is it possible Zhiyun adds this feature to the gimbal in the near future?

If failed to connect, please try to reset the Bluetooth module through pressing the power button for 6 seconds and connect it again.

When you balance one axis, keep other axis locked is for better balance the current axis.

Hello Keanessa. With a customized quick release plate, you can swap camera battery directly but don't need to disassemble the release plate or rebalance the gimbal. I've attached the cable that came with the M3 to my ZV-1 and it's not controlling any functions at all. Isn't it supposed to control the zoom, start and stop recording and the shutter function to take still pictures? Or, is it just to keep the ZV-1 battery charged?
Make sure you choose PC remote on your Sony camera setting.

Hi Ramses, could you please check if you do following steps?
1. Please select "PC Remote" for your camera's "USB Connection".
2. For Sony cameras, after connecting gimbal and camera with control cable, power on the gimbal and then the camera. Make sure the camera is fully charged.

Brand new out of the box. Can't understand why it's not behaving to any of the modes. I followed every Tutorial and it's fully updated firmware and balanced correctly. It just goes to sleep and makes a sound every time I try to use a mode

@@taconasty I used to have this problem when I first purchased. and sometimes I still do. Press and hold the "M" button. it kinda acts like a full reset. try to balance then. it should work.

Crane M3 connect Canon R10 need to connect the extend base and Bluetooth moduel also. Doesn't support the wire control.

@@woodcraft_cz Yes! Check and make sure that the axis are going the correct ways. Then it becomes tidious. Make sure the camera is as close to the "Tilt" axis as possible. You may have to go back after you adjust the pan and redo the roll. Go back and forth with the roll and pan and it will calibrate.
@@EL2ube I eventually found the cause for me, it was the camera not sitting right in the Mount, I put a bit of rubber and it auto calibrated every time, unfortunately after the first auto calibration it started randomly vibrating as soon as I moved the unit and got progressively worse until it put itself into sleep mode, I couldn’t fix this issue so I’m returning it. Il try another unit in hope it was just a faulty unit

I think its important to mention that the joystick doesnt work when using portrait mode. A lot of videos are filmed sideways now a days and it seems the M3 isn't built for this type of video content.
Because the angle of the Portrait mode needs to be fixed, the angle will change if it is controlled by a joystick, thus limiting the function of the joystick.
Using crane m3 with iPhone 14 Pro, it’s going automatically to sleep mode when I move down or up by button. Calibration done, it’s stabilised when I checked. But still going automatically sleep mode . Any ideas how to fix?
Make sure you manual adjust the smartphone balance when gimbal is off and unlock all three axis locks.

Can you fine tune the Parameter Settings besides just, "High / Medium / Low" ?

My canons viewfinder obstructs with the movement on the M3. Not fully compatible when a bigger lens is used.

No it won't. If you power on the gimbal when 3 axis are locked, motors can detect it and remain in "off" mode.

When I plugged the extension base the camera records white noise, could be a pice problem or its something from the gimbal? The gimbal just arrived today, so it was a factory defect or something, because litteraly it was failing since first try.

You need Zhiyun Crane M3 expansion base AND Type-C Bluetooth Control Module. Then certain camera settings.
You need to put the Bluetooth Module into the Crane M3 expansion base, then turn on the Crane M3, wait for 3 seconds, the Crane M3 will connect the Bluetooth Unit well. Take out the Bluetooth Unit, and turn on it, when it bright a sold Blue light, the gimbal and Bluetooth Unit connect, then install it with the camera.
Turn on the camera, waiting for the Bluetooth Unit with the camera connect, the camera must be M mode, the lens is AF mode. select "PC Remote" for your camera's "USB Connection", and make sure camera "USB Power Supply" is off.
Should work. If not, it probably due to a bad Bluetooth module. I had to replace the first one I had. No it works!
Annoying but worth it.
Oh and Zhiyum customer service is great. Even tho their time zone is different, they do respond!

The wheel customized setting (aperture, shutter, ISO, zoom, roll axis), and can customize on the touch screen. Use with TransMount CRANE-M3 Bluetooth Control Unit for camera parameter adjustment. CRANE-M3 only provides stabilization for mobile phones and action cameras. Button controls are not supported.
