My M3 isn't charging my Sony ZV 1. I have the correct cable connecting the camera to the M3. I can start and stop recording using the M3, but for some reason, the M3 is not charging the camera. Must be a settings issue? I've tried a couple of different settings, but no luck yet. Suggestions? WE are going to Europe soon and I'd like the gimbal charging the camera so I don't have to change batteries every half hour.
1:12 what do you mean a custom plate? Do they give it for free? I contacted them about my camera: Sony A7 IV, and they told me to order a universal plate which costs £89 here in the UK.

I've been wondering if this gimbal is a good combo for a Sony a6400 with 18-135 kit lens and with the SIGMA 16 1.4... Do you have any of these and could tell me if is it suitable? Thanks in advance
I was following this tutorial step by step but when I try the auto calibration, the gimbal keeps giving an error message “failed”. It doesn’t try to do anything. Would you know why?

@@torryc I tried again with the battery fully charged and the cable plugged in to the camera and it worked, but only once. The auto calibration fails more than it works.
Did you ever resolve this? I just got mine and it continually fails
@@woodcraft_cz I can't say for sure but it was a balancing issue. After a bit of practice, I got better at balancing and now it doesn't fail on me. Sorry there wasn't a sure shot answer for you, but keep trying. It also helps to have a friend help, a fresh pair of eyes is great when you feel stuck. Have them watch this video and let them balance, see if that works.

Auto calibration is failing what should I do?
Make sure that you adjust the camera full balance when gimbal is off and unlock all three axis locks.

Oh yes! Balancing is a piece of cake! But then connect it to your camera!! I have tried it with my Canon, Sony and Nikon! NONE of them work! So i go back to the shop to return it. They contact the importer and get the answer "buy the bluetooth set, and it will work". But it DIDNT, more then CANT PAIR, i didnt get!! So i send a mail to their "customer service". In all SEVEN mails. And i didnt get ONE answer!! This is a typial " BUY it, PAY it and p@@ss off" kind of company! BTW it wont work with filmic eigther!!

Ok, figured out the lanyard/safety strap: the crane m3 has two 1/4 screw in expansion ports, one on the bottom, and another on the upper side. On Amazon, but also elsewhere, you can buy a screw-in holder, then to the holder you can attach a safety strap.
Nice video Evan!Who has nowadays the time to balance a cam like Sony 6500 with 16-70mm Carl Zeiss everytime for 15 minutes? Does a quick release plate help? Whois this original plate so expensive? Why isn’t ita standard in Zhyun offer?
HI, Great Video on the setup and balancing. I'm struggling with the parameter settings. say for example, if i would like to orbit in the pan follow mode, the response of the motor is delayed, i see jitters in the video and there is no smooth orbit. I believe it has something to do with the different parameters. I have seen videos on webull parameter tweaking but i don't get a lead on M3S parameters. Helpful if you can throw some insights. side note: I use sony fx30 with sigma 18-50 f2.8 on crane M3S

I have a ZV-E10 and the 16-55mm F2.8 G Lens and I am having some trouble balancing this combo because the lens is a bit head heavy. Is there any way I can still use this properly to make it work?

Crane M3 does not have a vertical mounting plate but has a vertical shooting mode (P mode). ;)
A little too fast on the first step. Out of the box something needs to be done to get the gimbal set up correctly. I didn’t catch this from your video.
Thanks. Any advice for use with a Canon R7 with the kit lens. The viewfinder eyepiece rubber contacts the roll axis motor in the back making the vertical balance impossible. Also the mount base with the red lock button contacts the pan axis motor if not holding the gamble perfectly straight.
Garbage for anyone first learning this or any gimbal ... doesn't even address software updates required plus registration, what if calibration fails, etc ...

I JUST BOUGHT THIS GIMBAL FOR MY PANASONIC G9 CAMERA AND IT'S HORRIBLE. THE FOOTAGE IS TOO SHAKY IN ALL MODES AND IT'S NOT SMOOTH AT ALL.
We have to calíbrate with the camera off or with camera on (lens will go out from camera in my case zv1)
Where does everyone have the larger cameras on there Gimble Krane?..... It really quite heavy, so i am happy with the Canon powershot G7X attached to it.

If one if your axis is in locked mode it will fail. Hope it might help?

Brilliant video. I managed to setup my ancient Fuji bridge camera after watching this video. But i can't for the life of me get my gopro to balance on the gimbal. I think it may be too light with a plastic mount.
Hi Evan. I use M3 with Sony a7c. Since camera doesn't hv micro usb it can't use photo/video button on M3. I tried type c to type c but not work

Super video,but I have one issue! When I press and hold M button it automatic turns me in some mode for couple of seconds than it starts shaking and turni in sleep mode all the time? Any idea what would be problem?
Long press the M button will enter or exit the sleep mode
How exactly do you loosen the vertical tilt axis lock screw? It won’t turn unless I lift it. It doesn’t become loose.
The camera is a little heavy, so maybe hold the camera a little when loose the screw.

My gimbal still has a small vibration when I pick it up. Guess it’s not balanced good enough.
Hi! Our gimbal has 3 axes (pan axis, roll axis, and tilt axis). Most customers focus on the balance of the tilt and roll axes while ignoring the balance of the pan axis. When the camera is installed, it is opened without balancing, it will cause vibration. 😊 It is recommended to use auto-calibration. If the gimbal is not yet in the ideal state after the auto-calibration, you can use the customized adjustment or choose the level of the motor torque to be high/medium/low.

When I on the gimbal … it starts with UPDATE on the screen and the message FAILS comes on .. why’s the problem because the motors don’t respond or vibrate

Hi Evan Thomas, thank you for your useful video , I wonder why the motor goes sleep mode within few seconds of using it. I am worried why does it happen so , I try to agIn on the M button the it works again, why does the gimble not in one mode until I finish a shot
If not balance the camera to power on the gimbal, it will easy cause the gimbal enter sleep mode. Make sure that you fully balance your camera when gimbal is off and unlock all three axis locks.
Excellent tutorial. I got my M3 and this was my first gimbal. I couldn't figure out the manual so typed in TH-cam search and yours was the first video that popped up. Managed to figure it out in one go. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
Is everything supposed to be opened and unlocked when you auto calibrate? It shows "failed" every I try to auto calibrate. I'm at that stage where I want to throw this at the wall.

My auto calibration failed
Thanks so much, Evan, for making this video tutorial! You definitely helped me in not going crazy mad trying to balance my new ZCM3, my very first gimbal. So you can imagine my noviceness! Hmmm, is that even a word?. Anyway, the third day apparently was the charm for me...after finding yours to be the most helpful. And thanks for reassuring viewers like me in not giving up. Great job, and keep up the good work!!!
Do you have to do this each time you put your camera in? Let’s say I balance it and lock all the motors. Then I take out the camera, then put it back in the same camera with the same lens. Do I still need to do this whole process over?
