Intensity director the way they described it really does sound like an improved version of the L4D AI director. It's little things like these that can potentially turn the experience to 11, rather than just unpredictable difficulty spikes. I love that the ship is never going to quite feel the same each time you load to redo a section or start a new playthrough.
Something like the director in alien isolation, that sends up the alien your way whenever you made enough progress,I think it was called the menace gauge or something like that, the ai would measure how much tension the player is going through and adjust accordingly by either putting the alien in search mode or make it go up in vents and wait for you to make a mistake. Super stoked for this remake, but it's driving me nuts that not a single video that mentions the "one shot camera" thing makes a mention of Dead Space 2. That game is 99% seamless from start to finish with only one brief flash to white in the first half and one brief camera cut near the end and it doesn't have a single loading screen once you've loaded in. Everyone made a big deal about this with God of War 2018, but personally I'd consider Dead Space 2 to be the first game to pull this off.
Totally agreed, I thought the same. And DS1 itself only had loading screens between chapters (in the tram), which could have easily also been in-game but boring.
@@lycanthrophy616 what really gets me is it was the devs who introduced this talking point. They could have referenced DS2 but chose God of War instead. Anyway, I'm nitpicking. I am excited to finally play it.
There's a pretty big one after landing the escape pod from the Ishimura on GovSec. It featured 2 abrupt cuts. Cutting to black as the Nicole and Marker hallucination plays. Cutting black again with Isaac already outside the pod, lying down and getting back up.
I am soooo looking forward to playing this. I loved the original 1 and 2. I hope the plasma cutter is going to be as good as i remember and i am realy glad they added side quests.
@@Byron-Hungerford No no no, a interview that ign made Has the devs saying they wont change it at all, only exceptions to this are the design of the cutter and maybe the sound effects
A really cool feature is when Daniels talks about the Marker, Isaac reacts like he’s heard it before. Which makes sense according to the Dead Space lore that his mother was a Unitologist.
Yea they flesh out the story with the side missions you can encounter and remixes the base story so it feels fresh cus played through the OG so had that bit fresh and could spot the diffrence in story beats.

@@robroskey6515 I literally have Alien Isolation installed. That is one I keep wanting to sit down with my wife and play together but every time I bring it up she is "not in the mood".
I played all three games using only the starter weapon, the plasma cutter. It was just so useful and powerful once it was upgraded to the max. I'll be doing the same thing again with this one.
Doesn't that get repetitive? The other weapons are way more fun once upgraded. Definitely missing out. The game offers so much to take so little from it.
I have to admit, I'm mostly curious if there will be unlocks and stuff like in the games past one. Specifically if there's a reward for beating it on the highest level like the Hand Cannon.
Thank Capcom for that little innovation. If I'm not mistaken RE4 had the first dynamic difficulty system. I'm hoping this isn't exactly like that though. Since this game is supposed to be a little more open in terms of the full ship being available to back track the director is there more to handle encounter frequency to keep things suspenseful rather than just being bored as you go back through old hallways to reach a door you couldn't previously open. I also hope it's not simply a difficulty slider based on how often you die.
Super excited because I always wanted to play dead space and dead space 2!!! But this time with gorgeous graphics!!! Hope it sells good enough so part 2 can be made as well!!!
They basically need to make the combat as smooth and entertaining as DS2 without losing all of the dread, isolation, and atmosphere that made the first so good and unique. That may be tough for them to do, especially if they're giving Isaac voice lines. His silence contributed to the isolation in DS1. I hope they pull it off though.
The Intensity Director is the biggest thing i am worried about. I have this irrational fear that it's just going to constantly spawn enemies to ramp up the intensity. Like so many enemies that you either just get ganked right away or run out of ammo from a full inventory then get ganked. Probably because i just played the entire trilogy a week or two ago to get ready for this game and that is exactly what Dead Space 3 felt like. Low clip counts, reloads that take forever, and just...so many enemies. And non of the weapon upgrades really felt like they did anything until you beat the story and get the LV3 chips.
Judging by what they described it as, I doubt they will throw a giant hoard of enemies at you when you only have 2 spare clips. It sounds like the AI analyzes your inventory, what part of the ship you're in, and how far you are in the story, and calculates how scared it wants to make you feel. It could be something subtle like whispers, or something extreme like throwing two or three infectors into the room with you that has 7 or 8 corpses, or maybe throw the regenerator hunter at you randomly. I doubt they'll push 3 brutes or 15 slashers at once at us for no reason.
don't be a bad gamer, left 4 dead 2 uses ai director and it improves the game so much, we want it to always be challenging and different, learn to adapt and learn the gameplay.
The intensity director sounds amazing. Sounds somewhat like what they did in Alien Isolation. Hide too much...the alien will find you, etc. Can't wait for this.
Tht and make each new playthrough diff enough. If u played original Dead Space often enough then u learn the timed events, wht necros are faking their deaths, etc. lol
I'm glad I have played the original Dead Space when it came out and never played it again. Been so long that I don't remember much from this masterpiece. Can't wait to relive the game with even better graphics !!
Same. I downloaded 1 and 2 the other week on pc. Later on before i was going to play the first again i found a yt vid about the remake so i decided to wait for it instead.

I just don't know what they are gonna do with the franchise after this game. Would they remake the other two? Dead Space 3 was considered a failure so would they stop after Dead Space 2 or maybe try to remake 3 to be a success? Or would they stop after remaking just one game. I know there is a lot of interest in the series from fans so would the developer eventually continue the story with a game taking place after 3? Some of us prefer not to have our intelligence compromised with rubbish like Sony third party movie ‘experiences’. The fact you keep referencing this rot as a good thing instead of detrimental compared to the brilliance of the original Dead Space has me very concerned that this new game will be trash as a result. @@mylesaway2566 Not gonna lie, I actually enjoyed that too. I liked the challenge of it. Ideally, I want the entire sequence replaced with an involved and timed engineering puzzle. Players can still have manual control of one of the guns as a neat optional minigame, like the zero-g basketball minigame in the USM Valor.
I was so hype for this until I saw it's price tag of £70 on console, I could get it on pc for cheaper but I first played dead space on console and I would want to relive that experience here, but with the cost of living crisis as well as many other things, £70 is laughable for a remake with just a few extra things added, I'm sorry but its the truth, it shouldn't be this expensive. And one last thing, those so called "weapon changes" almost made me spit my drink out, they aren't new at all, in fact, they are the exact same that they always were, they always had alternate fire modes, like the gravity well on the line gun, and grenade launcher on the rifle, and the proxy mine so on and so forth. They haven't added enough to charge £70, £50 is reasonable, like on pc, and they only made it cheaper on pc because it would encourage more pirating than there already is if they push their luck and charge more. Console players can't do that, so they're being milked, and it's honestly shameful.

I got the Dead Space Remake for my Series X the day it dropped and it is nothing short of amazing. Everything remains largely untouched from a story perspective minus some extra scenes to flesh out the story better. The game is absolutely worth owning no doubt about it. I just can't believe EA had anything to do with it. Addendum- When they say no load times they mean just that (thank you 9th gen). When you continue the game it's already loaded right at the title screen. When you press start it goes from the title screen right to where you left off immediately. Press start and bam you're in. That's what I'm talking about.
I have so many questions such as will this Dead Space also contain a new game plus or at least something like how a much harder difficulty level to replay the game or will it feature something like a Madhouse mode where stronger enemies earlier than usual?
kind of sad that people seems overall more interested of sequels and remakes instead of actual completely new stuff. in this case the game for me at least the game just looks like the first dead space basically. there is graphical improvements sure. but this is not enough of a improvement. a remake should be like the re4 remake. where you directly can see that it´s the new game. this version of dead space. you don´t see that unless you played it, or seen it recently. if they remake something. they should do it for games that are old enough like a ps1 ps2 game. after that it´s just eh.. but will not buy this game regardless. I will not support EA. One of the shittiest publishers. Shutting down studio after studio..
I'm from the future. The game is bad mess. With load of bad floaty animations and wonky movements. Glitches and audio issues. Performance is also not great on pc with occasional stuttering and hitching. Changes some memorable moments from original and lacks punch is boss fights. Scored average 6~7.
Anyone taking issue with the remake like Issac's face, Nicole's face, or Kendra's appearance... it's running out of steam. The remake will be a welcome addition to the action adventure survival horror genre. Just be grateful, and you don't have to buy it immediately and just wait for this version to cheapen on sale once every patch and DLCs have rolled out within 1-2 years. Either way, it will be nice to play and compare this to the original and vice versa.

I’m really excited to play this. The one thing on this list that I’m not too excited about, however, is the “circuit breakers.” I forsee that being nothing but tedious.
From what I see, the Circuit Breakers are mainly extensions to the Power Cell puzzles we previously had in the games, but now instead of just immediately activating everything you need to make a choice of what to activate.

Not sure how I feel about the pulse rifle alt being the prox mine. That was originally the line gun alt. Should have ported over the grenade launcher from DS2
Is there such a thing as cautiously really excited because that is how I feel about this remake! While the original Dead Space is still an icon of survival horror video games, the developers actually wanted to do more with it. But they couldn't due to the hardware and software limitations of seventh-generation consoles. Two generations later, with the FAR greater power of today's consoles, I am very hopeful that this remake is what the developers of 2008's Dead Space wanted...or maybe more than even that.
the "no cut" camera is actually a bit false. And people are tripping over this too. It was a lie in the original dead space and it's a lie now. The camera most definitely will "untie" from the character to show important events , like the captain transformation scene, and we also see in the new launch trailer that the interactions with Mercer will be a bit angled in a cinematic way (where you lose control over the character°; Basicly all the story gates from the original (where characters would talk to you behind glass, or where you're story-locked in a room) with "standby" UI on the doors, I think they want to all avoid these and do interesting camera angles until the story scenario is over. Then you get control again just at the point you'd be allowed to exit the room in the original game. They are also enhancing some action scenes. Like when you jump out of an exploding Valor in chapter 9: you can clearly see how this is shown in a more cinematic way with added animations and being hurled out of that gate. Stuff like that makes it more immersive.
One-shot camera means that there are no loading screens (excluding the ones when you start the game or go back to the menu), in-game cutscenes don't break that definition.

Totally agree. It's selective memory or an indication that a lot of people putting out these videos haven't really played much of any dead space
Totally agreed, I thought the same. And DS1 itself only had loading screens between chapters (in the tram), which could have easily also been in-game but boring.
Exactly, and DS2 is 12 years old, that's more impressive.

Doesn't that get repetitive? The other weapons are way more fun once upgraded. Definitely missing out. The game offers so much to take so little from it.

Screw it. Give me waves of necromorphs coming at me. 💥
It sure would be nice if they ever made a follow up to dead space 2. Maybe this time around they'll make a 3rd game 😇
don't be a bad gamer, left 4 dead 2 uses ai director and it improves the game so much, we want it to always be challenging and different, learn to adapt and learn the gameplay.
gonna be honest. I'm tired of studios making the characters look like their voice actors.
The intensity director sounds amazing. Sounds somewhat like what they did in Alien Isolation. Hide too much...the alien will find you, etc. Can't wait for this.

Also really excited for a voice dialogue for Isaac and more story. That era of video games had story sprinkled lightly between long segments. Original Dead Space was based using the ideas of Half-Life style and I don't like where this Remake is taking ideas from stuff like Last of Us not giving the player full control over what's happening in real gaming sequence. Still, I'm looking forward to this Remake and this is just my nitpicking on this part.
Do people not watch videos on things they criticize? The reason for that camera angle is because they need to quickly replace the captain model with the changing necromorph model. They can’t just swap the model instantly without change, they even explained that’s mainly why they added that short cutscene
Hate to break it to you but the devs of the original game said that they’d have done more things like the cutscene themselves if they had the time and resources, so…

Just be grateful, and you don't have to buy it immediately and just wait for this version to cheapen on sale once every patch and DLCs have rolled out within 1-2 years. Either way, it will be nice to play and compare this to the original and vice versa.
I’ve had a problem with Nicole’s face since dead space 2 tbh so this is nothing new to me.
I think people are allowed to complain about stuff in a game they care about. 🤷🏻♂️
@@billyskittles1036 yeah but people complain about the faces like it’s the end of the world, I care about gameplay and presentation. So what is character models look a bit off.
Being grateful with an EA game??
Are you serious? Don't you remember what EA has done to this franchise?
And also, this game hasn't been released yet, so it's too early to celebrate it or something.
For me, the only thing this game has done "right" (from what i've seen in the trailers) is the redone graphics, because the rest (character redesign and voice acting) is messed up.
I recommend everyone to wait until the reviews (from real players) give an idea of the quality of this remake.
@@billyskittles1036 It okay to keep criticizing and complain. Just saying most won't be bothered in the end and will give the remake their own fair shake. As is the case with just about every other game.
force gun if you only use that on a enemy you see that their skin start peeling off completely, the lurkers seem to take the most shots and you can see their skin peel off.
Replaying the 1st now hope that damn asteroid section has been improved.
Love Deadspace and Resided Evil remakes DO NOT love the price..
I thought the original already did the “one-shot” camera. Don’t really like the whole they’re doing it because god of war did it take. I feel like they already planned this beforehand
I’m really excited to play this. The one thing on this list that I’m not too excited about, however, is the “circuit breakers.” I forsee that being nothing but tedious.
Do you want lights or air ooooo spooooooioiooooky
But he’s an engineer, though they should be using his skill sets
From what I see, the Circuit Breakers are mainly extensions to the Power Cell puzzles we previously had in the games, but now instead of just immediately activating everything you need to make a choice of what to activate.
@@StrikeNoir105E and that’s perfectly fine with me I want to explore some areas in the dark I think that would be cool
I don't think they're going to be tedious, more likely they're just gonna be a small cool feature, which doesn't really affect the gameplay that much.
This is honestly one of the best remakes ever made. I was alittle in the face before because it's e.a. but they allowed this team to do a great job. Glad I haven't played the first game in a long time really enjoying the game. Just the sound movement eveyhting is great the systems they added to this just wow. Great game
Not sure how I feel about the pulse rifle alt being the prox mine. That was originally the line gun alt. Should have ported over the grenade launcher from DS2
Biggest difference, I’m not paying $60-$70 for a game I already played 15 years ago.
Worth a play cus they remix the story and its a good game. Try it when they do a price drop. Many areas and story segments are remixed.
i could swear that DS 2008 did one-shot camera stuff? correct me if i'm wrong
