Jack knocking it out of the park again. Good on Mark for giving him room to do so. What’s special about Jack in these interviews with engineers is the clear respect going both directions, but also the classic giggle and joking around the engineers get in on too. It humanizes them beyond what just putting them on screen does. Allows them to deviate from some of the crafted material they have to stick to, and be themselves. Jack does this very gracefully.
This car looks amazing. Great video.

I know the 911 is probably a far better car dynamically, probably faster on the road and the track, and likely more reliable… But I don’t care. If I was getting a car in that price range, I’m getting this thing. At the end of the day, these types of cars will very rarely be driven at 9 or even 10/10ths, so who cares that the turbo S is a better driving machine at the limit? I’d prefer to turn around in every parking lot and see this thing sitting there waiting for me.

Porsche might be more reliable but Astons are more rare, classy and elegant. A perfect GT car. If it weighed less it would be quicker to 60.

If I am buying a 200K car, I don't want to lose 100K in a few years and drive a worse thing just because it's "more rare". Yes, some might not care, but depreciation is a giant issue with this, not Porsche, so taking such a big hit + worse driving + worse reliability + way more $ to fix and prob insure + far shorter warranty (porsche is up to 15 years) + less dealers and you question if it's really worth it. Just rent it for X months for like 5-20K and be done with it, then drive porsche and re-rent when you want it

A great review and, so far, the only one to include an interview with one of the Aston Martin engineers, which is very much appreciated. For me, I'm just so glad Aston Martin are now building cars with no excuses needed. Beautiful inside and out, with epic performance and great handling, helped by excellent electronics. And I'm glad that Aston focus on it being a road car first and foremost. That's were most of them will spend 99% of their time and its why a ZF 8-speed auto is exactly the right transmission for it. So, GREAT JOB Aston Martin......now bring on that 824hp V12 Vanquish 🙂

Jack has been such a perfect addition to savagegesse. Mark's production quality has always been top notch, but adding a genuine engineer with insightful questions conducting sit down interviews of manufacturers engineers is just another way y'all separate yourselves from your peers. Mark in post using charts and graphs leading us through the interviews works so perfectly you almost have to wonder why your competitors don't use the same available information from the manufacturers.
Like Mark, I'm a bit older, jaded and cynical. No disrespect. But pairing that type of personality with someone a bit younger, with a less dry sense of humor and a healthy... very healthy.. sprinkling of gorilla ape-man tire frying knuckledragging cromag hyperintellingent engineer works perfectly. You're both complex gentlemen with a wide range of skills and dispositions. It just feels fully balanced and complementary. The Ying and the Yang. So many times, my feed gets blasted with 10-20 reviews the moment the embargo is lifted. I always wait to see if y'all had an opportunity for a crack at that launch. 80% of the time, I go straight to your review. Occasionally, I check out a shorter review by one of your less comprehensive peers, then I check out your's just to see the vast difference between the 2. When I take that route, quite often I'm surprised by something new or just reminded again why I feel y'all are head and shoulders above all of your peers. From the technical prowess and indepth interviews, to the look under the car (why does no one else even think to do this??) And the hilarious skits and jokes. The time, effort, structure, pacing, humor, production quality. It's not just one thing. It's every aspect, all the time
I know Mark has talked about and exit strategy. How you don't plan on doing this for another 15 years of your life. I can understand. Doing something you love as a business can burn you out. Especially when it's done to this level with a very small team. I've said before in your comment section, I would watch you guys review toaster ovens. I would, no bullshit. I'll also be watching Jack if he continues reviewing on youtube after Mark goes out for smokes and never comes back. To be honest, I'm kinda hoping I can get and in depth comprehensive comparison review of gorrila chow so I know which one crates the most tire smoke. That is if you guys can make it that far without having warrants put out on the 2 of you for premeditated murder of your competition.
Jokes aside, I really appreciate and resonate with the reviews y'all put out. The effort shows, fellas. Thank you for your hard work. Before you guys close the door for good, please give us a review on taosters or gorilla chow. Go into another review sector and s#!t all over them. They're phoning it in and someone should expose that. Who better than a jaded cynic and a gorrilagineer ?¿‽

I got to walk around the new Vantage at the showroom in Midtown NYC earlier this year. The car is GORGEOUS and the one on display was in the F1 team color with the AMR bright green accents. The showroom is excellent too, they can darken the entire space and there’s essentially a 360 degree customization space. It was pretty incredible and clearly Aston is taking themselves and this new car very seriously. As a Porsche fan, I would think an equivalent 911 is the more “sensible” choice, but my goodness is this car special. I’d probably rather have one of these if I’m being honest and were also $250,000 richer than I am right now

I realize the buyer for a new Vantage is very likely not cross shopping a C8Z, but it is interestingly a very similar tale with the current gen Vantage and Corvette. It’s a car that has to be everything to everyone and therefore is inherently a compromise between worlds. The Vantage is no doubt a much better looker than the C8Z, but with how exotic the drivetrain is from Corvette right now I think if someone was cross shopping it would be a very hard argument for the Vantage. I really appreciate though that the Vantage sticks to its identity rather than being so obviously a spec sheet numbers chaser.

It's a reference to the song "Mo Money Mo Problems" by the Notorious B.I.G. Using "less" instead of "fewer" preserves the number of syllables and keeps the same cadence as the song title. Think of it as poetic license.

I love the profile of the Vantage. I don’t like the front or the rear anymore, they’re both too busy for my taste. I hope to see one of these on the road since I’m sure the road presence in person is different than on video. However, for $200k I doubt I will. Personally I’d rather see cars with lower weight, lower power, and a lower price. Keep the power to weight ratio the same, but lowering the weight will improve handling, feel, and braking performance. I think those days are gone though. I don’t see getting a new car for that reason.
