Look at all the gross influences on younger people these day. Nonstop stimulation from their stupid phones. There's no subtley in the avalanche of media blitzing their brains. This Aston is a great example. I want to think it's really cool but I just don't. At all. It looks like a tacky cartoon. Power level is appropriately absurd for modern cars, which is three times what it needs to be fun and reasonable on any public road, but it just doesn't have any classic swagger like the old stuff. And that "tribute" front end is just ridiculous. A perfect example of how the design culture has seemingly lost its way.

Lot of smiles in this video from you Harry, that means it must be a good 'un. Nico Rosberg just took delivery of his AMG One, hopefully he'll lend you the keys (not sure how it'll do in the English countryside though!)
The front end with red grille surround reminds me of drawings used in health/science to represent the anatomy of the human head. The headlights being the eyes and the lips/fascial muscles being the grille. Otherwise, judging by goodwood videos it sounds so brutal at full tilt. Even the induction noise from the turbos sound great.
Ah...I thought it might be you. I was on holiday in UK and in the Cotswolds...saw this go past in Stow (you did well navigating that through the god-awful traffic jam through the temporary lights on the main road). I was gutted not to get a picture as you went past (at all of 30 mph)...front looked a bit odd but was great from every other angle. Glad I could get a proper look in this video.

What's the point of nitpicking the price of £1mn+ car? I doubt the prospective buyer for this is thinking anything beyond, "this looks fantastic + I'll be one of the 100 people to own this in the world."
I think it was Pagani that started the modern trend for exposed gear change mechanisms. And who are A-M kidding with those tacky race-number roundels? That's what likely lads stuck on their Minis in the 1960s - and it's no less childish 60 years on.
By exposing the top of the shift mechanism, A-M are trying to do a Pagani, and in the process embarrass themselves. Then there’s the loose and sloppy linkage as experienced by Harry. To be consistent with this model’s retro exotic image, they shoehorned in the only manual trans they had. One of my favourite Harry's garage videos. Absolutely love this car. A few years ago I got chance to have a private viewing of the Valhalla @ Goodwood. On the way to the viewing there were 3 cars to the side of Goodwood house where the stables are located. A One77, Prince Williams toy Aston and Victor. Unbelievable looking thing and very similar to this beauty.
I like the lights, it's different and more classic styling. It works for me. I have to ask though why do they have a digital dial screen, just seems weird for a car that's looking to the past for inspiration and design.
I’d be worried about dropping things into the gearshift mechanism and fouling it up. I love the looks especially the rear end. Am I right in describing that as a Kamm tail ?
I got practice in a Mini Van with no usable first gear; I had lessons in an Austin 1300, a bit quicker than the 1100. These days I have the luxury of not one but two Saabs (a 'squirty' 9-3 estate with a Hirsch upgrade, a 9-5 NG TTiD saloon).

That within two weeks the production run was sold out indicates A-M knows what they are doing: monetizing the brand’s mystique in the cheapest way possible, a reflection of their contempt for this know-nothing generation of buyers. Like all builders of exotics in recent years, A-M was forced to swallow their pride and focus on ultra-premium models in order to maximize profits over the last few years ICE-powered models will be eligible for sale.
The appeal one imagines is not what it is, but what it represents and if it helps continue AM's recovery, then that's fantastic and collectors can be proud of their contribution.
Everything that makes Aston special even some you may need to scratch your head about but none the less an eye-catching example of greatness from a legend of manufacturing and a review by a top shelf automotive journalist at its finest!
The lipstick on the grille is a nod to the racing Astons of the past such as the DB3S which had different colours to differentiate them to the pit crews. Im glad Aston are building cars like this. Me? I’d have a DB12 and a late 80’s V8 Vantage. But then those that will buy these will likely have those (and more) in their garage too! I’m really looking forward to the next Vanquish though as I hope that’s a DB12 turned up to (V)12 😊
From a design perspective, I much prefer the Victor. It looks far more cohesive, and you would think Aston would have gone to the trouble of designing bespoke wheels for it instead of using leftover DBS rims!
I may be in the minority here, but I like the looks of this car. If it were mine to spec, I wouldn't have the roundel and possibly change the grille surround to body colour. The thing I like about the video, apart from the soundtrack, is seeing Harry's joy driving the Aston. Great stuff.
I honestly thought from the notification thumbnail in my side bar, that it was a jazzed-up Mustang! Must be my astigmatism...Does bugger all for me at a price like that.
Front looks great to me. Love the round headlights. Much better than any typically stock headlight out there. Not bothered by the red highlights..match up with the rear and some tidbits in the interior. If I had £1.5M in spare change, I'd be tempted to get on the list...Sadly, I'm about£1.47M short.
I don't mind the lights, i dont mind the red trim, i do like the side elevation, the back and how it sounds. The fact that the gear level gate is open is not really going to bother me either - but the fact it is a manual makes me happy deep inside. None of this matters a jot, mainly as they have all been sold, but more importantly even if i sell my house, a kidney from me, my wife and each of our two daughters -.i could never afford one. So Aston thanks for making it, but no need for the salesman to call me come Monday morning!
I had the chance to drive another V12 with a manual GB..it was the F599 and I thought it was just incredibly pleasurable to go through those gears on a twisty countryside road...it just makes driving such cars pretty unforgettable...

You did it again : perfect review !
Sunday afternoon, the Sun is shining, I have a beer and Harry drops a new vid........bliss.
The appeal one imagines is not what it is, but what it represents and if it helps continue AM's recovery, then that's fantastic and collectors can be proud of their contribution.
Man, this thing looks freakin huge on camera..don't know if it's the same in real life.
Solid video. This car seems like a real driver's car and a beast worth taming.
Square wheel? I saw that on an Austin Allegro once
Saw the car on Fuori Concorso this May, loved the way it looked. Great video as always
I'd much rather have the DBS 770. This looks like a kit car.
Ouch, but funny
Yes, this could be a parody of an A-M and nobody would bat an eye.
Crazy car crazy price, Thanks Harry
Everything that makes Aston special even some you may need to scratch your head about but none the less an eye-catching example of greatness from a legend of manufacturing and a review by a top shelf automotive journalist at its finest!
Love the front grill and lights, even the mid red highlights! Slightly reminiscent of the gorgeous ‘70’s Fiat Dino.
The last two feet at the back, from the side, looks a little like an Opal GT.
@@kawasakiwhiptwo5821 Good spot
@@edgarbeat2851 Thanks.
It sounds friggin glorious !!
Looks like a 2005 Mustang with a body kit.
Only if you are blind
God save your eyes😂
Super Video Harry, the rear end of this beast reminds me of the Ford Scorpio 😯🤔
this might be the most over priced car i've ever seen..
😂 it's not for you. Buy a KIA.
@@Gorilla_Jones buy bicycle - kia too overpriced
Lucky they didn't offer you one
I may be in the minority here, but I like the looks of this car. If it were mine to spec, I wouldn't have the roundel and possibly change the grille surround to body colour. The thing I like about the video, apart from the soundtrack, is seeing Harry's joy driving the Aston. Great stuff.
They look great in dark metallic green and no gipping contrasting colours
I honestly thought from the notification thumbnail in my side bar, that it was a jazzed-up Mustang! Must be my astigmatism...Does bugger all for me at a price like that.
8:55 I like that AML has done something interesting with the headlining. £1.5M right there.
Suspect the looks from the front would be significantly improved with some other spec' choices.
Bare carbon instead of red, and due to the fussiness of the rest of the car the wheels should be simple affairs.
Satin black, at midnight in a darkened garage.
I love the front look.. The round headlamps and that Red ribbon running around the grille 👌❤️
I think you're wrong there Harry, they've been putting a V12 in the Vantage since 2010!
Great Harry's Garage sure one day that car be a classic be interested if you see any of them on the road.
Stylist must have been on holiday
like that front! the lamps and that "red" - great looks
It looks like a red Vantage has had a green shell plopped on top with just the nose of the original car sticking out of front
Green?!? 😮😮😮
That’s metallic sky blue.
It’s Tayos Turquoise smart arse
Thanks, fun stuff, so big. All the best
uhhh... the rotors aren't what create brake dust, it's the pads. The rotor could be made of diamond but the pad will still dust the wheels.
True however clearly you never owned a car with carbon ceramic rotors. Those special brake pads working with those rotors create easily 90% less dust.
ceramic pads create less dust
American - rotors.
British - brake discs
the gear shifter it´s nice to be that way the linkage is showed at start and looks like old race cars ,it´s perfect
The tweed accents and the umbrella in the hatch : they REALLY want you to know this thing is NOT Italian.
Yeah, makes me crazy. In my mind I compare that to manual Ferraris 60s-90s, I would feel embarrassed to show this to a customer.
Front looks great to me. Love the round headlights. Much better than any typically stock headlight out there. Not bothered by the red highlights..match up with the rear and some tidbits in the interior. If I had £1.5M in spare change, I'd be tempted to get on the list...Sadly, I'm about£1.47M short.
horrendous, very dissapointed from how far aston has strayed
I don't mind the lights, i dont mind the red trim, i do like the side elevation, the back and how it sounds.
The fact that the gear level gate is open is not really going to bother me either - but the fact it is a manual makes me happy deep inside.
None of this matters a jot, mainly as they have all been sold, but more importantly even if i sell my house, a kidney from me, my wife and each of our two daughters -.i could never afford one.
So Aston thanks for making it, but no need for the salesman to call me come Monday morning!
I don't know who remembers pingu. The front end looks like when pingu got angry.
SCHABAPALAPAPABENAMENANOOKAER NOOT NOOT!! >:(

ah, I thought it was a cartoon Kingfisher (see above) ..... perhaps you're right though.
I had the chance to drive another V12 with a manual GB..it was the F599 and I thought it was just incredibly pleasurable to go through those gears on a twisty countryside road...it just makes driving such cars pretty unforgettable...
That red front makes it look like an angry duck
Somehow yes …
I think it's a clumsy take on the painted grill surrounding some DB3S had...
lmaoo
you mean it looks crap cause it does
£1.5m? - That's a hell of a bill! - well, it's a hell of a duck, sir.
Ah for me a DB12 vantage and £1.3m in the bank 😂
Getting back to round headlights - brilliant idea.
Glad you did this one Harry. It reminds me of the old Le Mans Coupe.
500 grand more than Clarkson's pub, I'd want mine spec'd with Hawkstone on tap 🍺
Its such a joy to see new supercar with manual. Anyway, while its summer, please do video on Kawa KZ 1300. Honda video was so awesome.
The only real gripe I have is it having a non-retractable screen, I suspect that’ll date it significantly and it’s quite unfortunate.
Love that it’s a manual but that Front end is horrid. Ridiculous price tag too.
