Let me know how you enjoyed this stretch routine! I am by no means a professional, but I do believe that doing these stretches on a regular basis will definitely increase your flexibility! Much love! See you soon Xx- Maddie
Hi! I'm new and I just wanted to say that I really loved it! I'm not very flexible and this is definitely a thing I wanna change. Thank you for making this video! I like the way you explain the positions because sometimes I'm not sure if I'm doing it the right way, so it is very helpful! I would definitely love to see more stretch routines!
get yourself some yoga blocks and soft blankets to place under your legs during those tough stretches. also make sure you're very warm before attempting
They are for you to make your flexibility better so don't be disappointed. I can feel you but just focus on being better. All the best if you are still doing! ✌🏻😃
Same. I was thinking that I was one of the completely inflexible ones with no hope. Turns out I'm one of the better ones. Also, is it normal to not be able to straighten your leg when laying down and pulling it up? Every time I try to bring it up my knee joint just says "Oh hell naw! I ain't doing that sh*t!" and my lower leg just falls.
Anyone else trying to get flexible now that they're stuck in their house with nothing better to do? Update #2: I missed a couple of days, but I have mostly been doing this for 3 weeks every night and I am SO much closer to being able to touch my toes. I've never been able to do that or do the splits, but I tried going down into the splits position and I was the closest I've ever been. I was still like 6 inches from the ground, but progress is what is important in this case. Once you make it a routine, you find yourself wanting to stay in the stretches even longer even though it hurts a little bit because you can feel the muscles stretching. How are you guys doing? Have you noticed any improvements? Update! I have been doing this consistently for the past two weeks and I have seen a MAJOR difference. When I tell you that I am NOT flexible at all, I mean it. I'm going to keep doing this every night before I go to sleep just to have a routine. My biggest piece of advice would be to focus on your breathing while you are stretching. Keep up the good work, guys! :)
This is definitely for beginners. I’m not a flexible person either but doing this everyday has made me very flexible. (This is after COMMITTING for several months. Not just a day then complaining about it) when I first started I couldn’t stretch anywhere near as much as she did but I stretched as much as I could without overdoing it/hurting myself. Being sore after it’s normal(not hurting but sore, like working out after not doing it for a good while) consistency is 100% key. Every week or even day if you can, push yourself to stretch deeper than the week/day before. Again, never overdo it, as you can end up actually hurting yourself. 💛 (also drinking plenty of water and keeping up with a healthy diet and lifestyle/Mindset is a huge help)
Yo, talking from experience, if you haven't seen the video yet and are scrolling through comments, *do not* try to go as far as she goes. Do not push too much so that the pain you feel is unbearable. Take it easy, especially the first time. Of course, there will be a little pain (/moderate when she says to "pull in closer"), but that's all you should allow yourself to feel. Your muscles will be dead for the next week otherwise. Don't pull on them crazily. You need to let your body adjust to this. Good luck everyone! :>
I'M doing little booty workouts, the fist day the one of cloe ting and the second day the one of Daisy keech and the third day is for rest, the 4th again like the first and etc..., When I have to do this yoga workout? Once a week on one of the rest day?
I used to think stretching was supposed to be the easier part of fitness lol. I mean, it is in many ways, but it is by no means the most comfortable thing to do with your body. She can do it so calmly because she's had lots of practice. Also you may try warmup your muscles before going into the stretch. Like a stationary march or a light boxer shuffle. I find that helps with the stretch routine than going in completely cold. Most important thing like the others have said is to listen to your body and go at your own pace. Slowly but surely you will start to find more ease. :)
This is actually the exact stretch routine they teach in serious dance classes as warmups before each lesson to prevent the dancers from injuring themselves. It may seem kind of thorough but trust doing this exact routine in this order everyday for a few months you will have flexibility for life.
Thank you. I'm 73 with arthritis in my hips. I started stretching with you last week and already I am having an easier time getting in the bathtub and putting on my shoes and socks, which had become more difficult since staying home so much during the pandemic. This is a great routine, although I can't do everything, but I'm trying and it's working. Thanks again!
The most important part is knowing where your limits are. You don't have to go as far as she goes, and you don't have to hold it as long as she does. You can take a breather during the exercises if it becomes too much. Just go as far as your body allows you and keep doing that, and every time you do it your body will go a little further. The thing to keep in mind is: you should feel it and it's okay to be shaky, but it should never *hurt*. If it starts to hurt, move back a little or go back into a resting position for a second or two. And make sure to warm up before and cool down after.
I've only been doing this for a little over a week every day and I can finally do some of the poses all the way, some very close, and some I'm still working on. Thankyou!
The after feel is not my goal becouse I feel like a grilled cheese but last weeks I have such a pain in my lower back on my better side and after this I almost can't feel the paint
A friend pointed this out to me when I told her "straighten your back" while stretching and she told me "I literally can't" and before that I didn't know that even was a thing. Good to know that there are other people who have that problem
@@Marc-rx5xg I can't sit in a 90° angle with my back and legs straight. My back is a huge issue for me. Not sure if It had to do with my spine being crooked or me being as flexible as metal rod
I was born with brachial plexus paralysis and have double scoliosis. I’ve been doing this stretch routine everyday for about 3 months and I’m amazed at how much better I feel now. I thought having back pain everyday was normal. Now, with simple stretches everyday my back hurts 80% less. I can also touch my toes and do the splits!!!!
@@stevenscurgell5672 I did the same video everyday. I wasn’t flexible at all and wanted to take it slow so I wouldn’t hurt myself. Might try different ones in the future but this one gets me going in the morning and works well for me :)
I've been following this vid every day for two weeks - thank you for putting this together! I'm a dude pushing 50. I go through periods of getting fitter and then letting myself go, and then rinse, repeat. I haven't stretched since middle school (I know). I could barely reach mid-shin from a standing position the first day. Today, I can almost lay my palms straight to the floor. Bonus: my persistent lower back pain has all but vanished. Will shake up the routine with other MadFit vids, but thanks again. I actually FEEL better after having stretched. Who knew?
This is great to hear. I’m the same, on and off on and off. I have low back pain and tight hip flexors from sitting at work all day. It’s good to see that consistency does play a part because i give up so easily if Im not in a split the next day. Really something that’s hard to grasp as a mindset but thanks for sharing your story, im going to stay consistent!
I have been doing this stretch for six months now, AND WOW! I’m able now to do splits, my body has been so much relaxed and I gained so much flexibility… totally recommend this video to be a part of you daily routine, life changing
You may not see this but as a guy who sits a desk working 8 hrs a day feeling all types of stiffness and soreness everywhere this video has saved me from a lot of the pain I have been experiencing since the start of covid. THANK YOU!
@@adamhassan385 hey, honestly you feel better almost immediately, but the stiffness didnt fully go away until about a week of consistency. give it a try
Hello , I started to work at a desk for 5 months. Now and I starting to feel the pain , besides this great video that it is working , what should I avoid n keep doing ?
for the people just starting this, i have some advice. don't push yourself too hard on the first few days or otherwise you'll feel pain next day and won't be able to continue. be consistent and always warm up a little before stretching.
@@enbyous1234 basic stretching is warm up for workout routines but for this type of stretching where you are trying to increase flexibility, you need to do a little exercise like jogging, jumping jacks, situps so that your muscles don't tear too much when you stretch and you don't injure yourself. also , it'll actually improve your performance if you perform stretching after warming up . hope that helps ☺️
Ex gymnast here, I’ve always been really flexible and this routine is amazing. I do these stretches before a long walk and I can really feel the blood flowing to my muscles. I recommend doing all these stretches slowly and don’t do any of the stretches if you feel pain while doing them.
My first week I went from the flexibility of a log, to the flexibility of a wet log. Making progress, slowly. Thank you for this "beginner" routine. I'll be glad when it feels like a beginner routine. Right now it feels like some Zen Master routine. Thank you for this great routine.
Thank you! I am a large woman and this was the 3rd stretch video I tried. You made it easy and accessible. I recently started on my weight loss journey and you allowed me a great stretch without making me feel bad about what I can't yet do.
Hey! A bigger guy here also on the road to losing weight! I also feel really great about this video and everything in it feels approachable even with the extra weight. Hope you're doing well on your journey as well!
Big people can be flexible!! Good luck on your weight loss journey and be sure to keep stretching so when you reach your goal weight you can already be flexible!
I’ve been doing these stretches almost everyday (on lazier days i use her 15 minute routine) after my workouts for the past 2 months and YALL my flexibility has gotten SO much better. I can finally touch my toes/the floor for most of the stretches (except the side stretch), and i feel SO GOOD. My muscle recovery after intense workouts are a lot quicker too!
This gives me hope that if I keep at it, I will improve. I have been trying to stretch as much as I can but havent been overly consistent and really want to work on getting more flexible. So I hope the more consistent I am, the better I will get!
Hey, I just want to pop on here and share my story. I've suffered from hypermobility in my ankles, back, neck, wrists and knees. I was injuring myself for months at a time, I've been in and out of wheelchairs and crutches always felt hopeless and cursed by it. Recovery took forever. Then lockdown came along and I thought, you know what Kate, let's get flexibility. Now I've discovered I can get more flexible quicker than most. For the first time , hypermobility wasn't so bad. I did this video for 2 months and I didn't injure myself. And this has been the first year... EVER that I haven't hurt myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you to the moon and back, Maddie. This has changed my life. Thank you to the comments for making me laugh and feel supported. Thank you, thank you thank you. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I also suffer from hypermobilty and the pain is unbearable at times I first started feeling really bad pain in my ankles when I was 5/6 and the pain in my ankles got worse when I sprained my ankle when I was 8 and when I was 10 I started getting really bad In my knees before that I would occasionally I have sore knees but it really became I problem when I was ten the first time it happened my ankles had been sore when I woke up and it was bearable and my mum gave me some medicine in the hopes it wouldn't get worse as I had school anyway I went to schools and my ankles got even worse throughout the day I told me teachers and I had to skip p.e and I sat Inside at lunch with my friends and I got some more painkillers from the office (my mum gave some to the office and signed a form saying that I was to take some If I was in pain) it don't help and my mum and to come get me as I was nearly in tears later that day I could feel the pain creeping up my leg into my knees and when I got really bad In my knees and cause my ankles were so sore I was crying my eyes out and I was nearly screaming I just lay in not moving a muscle. The first time it started in my hips was when I turned 12 it got really bad for the first time and a couple of months (this is like 3rd this has happened since I turned 12 I'm now 13 nearly 14) my whole legs were just in agony and I lay in bed crying and screaming just trying to stay still cause it sometimes helps. And the things is when I do alot or exercise for a while I can get really sore, if I'm just at school doing what I normally do even a day without P.E they can get sore, but also if I try to rest they get sore because I haven't been doing much so it's kinda hard to find a balance especially with covid and there being so many restrictions. In the past I have been to Podiatrists for my foot and ankle pain and they gave me insoles for my shoes and told me to do stretches they then sent me to a physiotherapist when it started to progress to knees and they gave me stretches and exercises to do it and it did help but I don't go anymore because I wasn't in as much pain but it has started getting worse again but I also hate doctors which is a problem cause I tend to only tell people about pain when it is absolutely unbearable because Im afraid of being taken to a hospital so everyone knows that when I complain about pain that I'm actually in a lot of pain. My shoulders and neck strated bother me when I popped my shoulder out when I was 8/9 but it wasn't like when I popped it out in the when I had popped it out before then as I had also maneged to pull my neck and shoulder muscles and after I did it I tarted screaming and fell to floor because if the pain and I was doing the simplest of things when I hurt my shoulder (I was hyper at the time so It was a bit more powerful and my movements/actions were over exaggerated but for someone without hypermobilty I wouldn't have popped their shoulder out)
Don't know if anyone still reads these comments but tried this for the first time! Right now, I'm a little overweight (not super visible) but mostly out of shape. I just haven't been moving a lot for the past couple years, energy in the toilet, and have been noticing some soreness and stiffness not because of exercise but LACK of it. When I try doing physical activities I loved as a kid it's kind of scary how little it takes to wind me. Not old either. I've decided I want to at least start the process of getting my body to a better place. Following this video I gave myself permission to do the best I can starting out. Timing I got to 23:54 and in terms of the stretches themselves some I did much better than others. I figure this is a case where doing them on a regular basis is what counts, and hopefully with practice my body will get more used to it and able to keep up better. Right now I'm actually kind of relieved I got 2/3 through and just that I could move and feel that stretching happened. Think some part of me had gotten to a place of just accepting I wouldn't be able to move properly again. So really appreciate this video.
I'm on a dance team and lost my flexibility over quarantine. I hope this helps get it back! Fingers crossed!!! Edit: Omg ty to all the people who liked and replied! I hope all of you get your flexibility back, and here's an update on me! 1. I am almost back with my left split, I never had it but I was so close! 2. My kicks/botmas are the same, and I am sooo happy! 3. I have a triple turn on my right side and that's more than before quarantine. And I have been following this, but just know once you get back to dance, cheer, kickline, or gymnastics you will be almost as good as before, if not the same or better! I'm rooting for you!
Hey babe, I’m a dancer and I also lost my flexibility, I struggle to do the splits now. This year was difficult for a lot of us! Promise you can get back to your flexibility! If I can do it you can do it too, not there yet but so close
I've been doing this stretch routine for ~1 month now (almost every day) and my improvement in flexibility is unreal. I can (almost) touch my toes without bending my knees (started out ~4-5 in away). Arthritis runs early in my family (I'm in my mid 20s and already show signs) but this routine has helped me so much. I can feel myself improving every week. Thank you Maddie for this video! 💜
Try a myofascial release on your hamstrings using a small tennis ball. It's amazing what it can do. Add it to the routine and you'll be touching your toes in no time.
I promise anyone who can’t touch their toes due to inflexibility do this for a month and you 100% will. I think soon I’ll be able to lay my palms down even too!
I've been doing this routine for more than 2 months and let me tell you I feel so much better physically and mentally!!! I've lost my flexibility but I've gained it back with this routine, even if its for beginners it helps me stretch properly and be consistent with stretching exercises again THANK YOU SO MUCH x
Omg thank you I want to do this two times a day and today is my first day and I was not sure it was going to work am a dancer for 2 years and I’m not even flexible Because I never put the work in it lmao
for anybody starting this for the first time and is not physically active some advice for you to save yourself pain!! PLEASE save yourself severe soreness by not holding any of the stretches she is doing for 30 secs and just hold for 5-10 secs. just do them for 5-10 seconds and not the full 30! after 2 weeks youll be able to do these stretches for 30 seconds or longer with no soreness. the first time I did this that was the outcome, a week and a half of gnarly soreness. I could barely sit and I work an active job so it kicked my ass. I picked this back up after a few months and started with 5-10 secs for every stretch for about a week and the soreness was minimal and super tolerable.
Haha you reminded me of that scene from kung fu panda when he asks isn't there a level zero😂 and when shifu sees how bad he is he says now there is a level zero
I've been doing this routine for a at least two months... Skipping a few day of course... But I am a lot more felxible then I have ever been. At the beginning I couldn't stretch really far, but now I can. I still can't do the middle splits stretch very well, but I am close. Keep on trying everything! You will be a lot more flexible if you don't give up! Have a great day!!!
I’ve practiced this exercise for 3 months almost everyday. I definitely can tell you this is not the beginner exercise that you’re gonna feel like “yeah I did it what’s next?” But these are the ones we needed to progress. In the end of the first month, I got my side splits and other exercises felt easier to do. I still couldn’t get my middle split :’) and after pandemic, I quit exercising. Nowadays I am back and writing this shaking. You are on the right spot and I can tell you, it gets harder but also more enjoyable :)
to everyone having a hard time doing these stretches, give it your best and dont be ashamed to take breaks inbetween. theres always tomorrow to do better :)
@@jotarokujo2017 that’s totally fine, as u do it, day by day ull become more flexible and will be able to one day touch the floor! I still can’t eitherr
Love this, your voice isn’t too monotone where it’s boring but also not too overly enthusiastic where it’s annoying. The stretches and instructions were very helpful and clear, 30mins went by so fast!
Ik this is a pretty old video but it's the best stretch routine I have ever done! I do it almost every day and it has helped my flexibility alot and it makes my body feel really nice and relaxed. Please never take this video down!☺
Keep at it! It's definitely not easy. I've been doing these stretches most days of the week for a couple months now. They have helped me get much more flexible. When I started I couldn't hold anything the entire time but now it feels good and I can keep up with how long she holds. Good luck!
I've been doing this for a little over a month, almost every day, now. When I first started I couldn't touch my toes, from the seated side bend position, now I can. And I used to wear a knee guard and an ankle guard, now I don't need them! And I don't feel as tight, in my hips, when I walk anymore. This is my favorite stretch routine. Thank you @MadFit for uploading this! *not an advertisement 🤣
I have been doing this routine with my 1 & 3 year old for a week now & I can certainly see the difference already! I have never been flexible my whole life. Now at 27, I can almost do the splits! 😄 Thank you so much for sharing your stretch routine with all of us 🥰
YES! Lol I thought I was the only one. Definitely a little bit annoying because then I have to pause the video to repeat the other side and also to pause when I feel like the stretch went too fast.
I have been doing this routine about 3x a week for the last month. While I haven't done it every day, I have gotten so much more flexible. I didn't know I had it in me. I used to absolutely hate stretching - but I've been doing this after every workout and now I look forward to it. I even feel less of the chronic pain in my lower back , which is amazing and unexpected. If you feel like you can't do these stretches at all right now (like me when I started), know that all you need to do is keep trying! You can do it!!! xoxo
Yes! Do it every other day or maybe three times a week when starting out, so your muscles get a chance to rest and recover, but keep at it! That's the most important thing. Maybe set a goal for yourself, like, I want to be able to keep this pose for this many seconds, and work towards that over time to keep yourself motivated.
Great stretch video, thank you! My daughter and I have been doing this every day. (1:57 is the start time for reference if you are doing this every day too 😊).
I just did this whole routine and felt more relief in my hips and lower back than I ever have from a chiropractor or physical therapy appointment. Thank you for sharing! It always amazes me to see how truly capable our bodies are of healing themselves.
Elizabeth Bohanan stretching is so important, I’m a 18 yrs trained sports therapist & now training in osteopathy too. I am always giving my clients stretching / strengthening exercises. Sooooo beneficial!! Although this video has definitely shown how much I’ve neglected myself over the last few years 🙈
@@saraawde401 depends on the exercise you're doing, but if you're standing or seated, imagine there is a hook on the top of your head at the back and imagine someone is pulling you up from there as a puppet... hope that makes sense, it's more of a visual thing!
One week in and I can't believe how much progress I've made after 10 years of sitting in an office chair. I can touch my toes without bending my knees! Such a good routine to pair with yoga
Hey Maddy! I’ve been doing your 15 min stretches everyday for 5 months now, and 30 mins when I have more time or when I am feeling tighter. my posture improved so much and, to my surprise, it strengthened my knees! I used to feel pain on them if I didn’t squat carefully or if I put too much weight on them, but now I don’t feel any pain anymore, nor on my back while working long hours at my desk. Thank you SO much, ❤️ the difference is huge
I adore this! I’ve done this routine 4 days in a row and wow the improvement even just walking up the stairs I can feel my muscles engaging and moving freely! Thank you for this 💕
i'm recovering from a bone marrow transplant over a year ago. my body was so stiff from so much bed and resting. I love this routine. I'm incredibly stiff and can barely do these stretches but im keeping at it. I'm 62 year old and i used to be a gymnist in my youth and always worked out throughout my life. It's very frustrating being this inflexible but i know it's necessary everyday to get back. It will be a long road, but I want to thank you for having these stretching videos.
This is INSANE!!! I can assure you guys that this is really working!!! I started doing this last March 20, and now I can reach my toes but with a less pain.
@@alicemarr2687 I have kept fit most of my life , did the London marathon at the age of 50 , then ballroom dancing but forgot to stretch much. feeling much better now and can put my hands flat on the floor at last with straight legs that is thanks to doing your stretch and low impact exercise routine.
First time viewer, and can I say this is the best beginner stretch routine I've seen. Although clearly you are *way* more flexible than I'll ever be, if I listen carefully to what you are saying I can get a really good stretch from this without feeling discouraged. You never know, one day I might even be able to touch my toes if I keep this up.
Saaaame! Every time she says "put your hands flat on the ground" I'm like "nope, no can't do" but getting there! Hamstrings are burning right now but I've been getting a lot more flexible thanks to her 🥰
I do martial arts and have been struggling with flexibility -- Been doing this routine every day for 2-3 weeks now and it's helping me a lot! Feeling good :D
I love how naturally you instruct. It's like working out with a friend. It's been a few days since I've actually stretched this long. Stretching is soooo necessary! Hello fuzzy kitty!
Great stretching exercises, really enjoying them. The only problem i have is that you take much less time to stretch the other side of your body. And it’s forcing me to pause the vid. You should be stretching each side the same amount of time...
Sebastian Cerneka I realized the same, so I swich side day by day. One day I start with the right side, next day with the left one. It evens out the difference.
It's probably because one side is tighter. Usually the right side since it's the more dominant side so you gotta work it a little more. Once you know the routine, just listen to something else so you can work at your own tempo.
Even if it's quite difficult and a bit frustrating, the feeling afterward is worth it 100%. It's like giving yourself a massage and mental unloading. Thank you a lot
I love how I'm here sweating and breathing heavily in an unearthly pain and she's like - "Now pull your leg a bit closer", I CAN'T, IT'S GONNA RIP OFF OF MY BODY, LADY !!!!
I’ve worked out for over 2 years and haven’t really given any thought to flexibility (other than before workout basic stretches) and this video really helps!

Nina Aoun not too bad! I’m definitely a little bit more flexible but i could be doing more stretching a day to push myself harder! How are you getting on? 😇
I don't even know why I'm here.. Thanks to a spinal cord stimulater in my back I can't bend more than 90 degrees without running the risk of pulling my wires. though I probably couldn't bend anymore than that any ways. :( Fight on without me ladies!

She has lots of other stretching videos i’m sure you could adapt a few moves into your own routine to do whats best for you! I bet you can bend great and probably better than me - worth a shot but with caution 🤗💪🏻
I thought you did an excellent job at narrating. I also appreciated that you stopped briefly to make sure everyone could see the next exercise properly. It’s been about 20 years since I’ve done my regular routine of yoga + Pilates so I’m relearning how the different poses should feel when done properly. Great Job!!🎉 I look forward to seeing any other videos you make as I progress from stretching and feeling the pose properly back into a regular routine I could do with my eyes closed. Thanks so much for your time. It was appreciated 😊
She looks like she could fall asleep in the hip stretches, meanwhile im over here grunting and wincing 😂 my left leg simply would not do pigeon pose lol that 90 angle was not happening
Ahah I didn’t even attempt it the first few times I did this routine. Tried it today hurt like hell felt like my body was not meant to be doing that. Helped a lot that part, could do leg raises without my hips clicking
Hello MadFit. So day two, really helpful. Thank you. I searched inflexible and your site came up. Believe, when I say inflexible I would be in the dictionary with my picture under the word. I took self defense for years and the instructor had to modify instruction for me. I have zero flexibilty and wanted and honestly have to work on it now. At 58, it's just impacting me physically with achilles, hamstring and calf issues. I can't run anymore and basically walk with alot of pain. Not fun. Day two and I feel better already. I think you could post youtube videos of just me doing this at home and people would get a good chuckle. He's pretty determined but its funny. I'll keep you in the loop. No pain today. Thank you again. Best.
I started dancing when I was about 5, I quit about 5 years ago at the age of 11, I'm 16 now. I haven't really stretched like my dance instructor used to make me before dancing. I recognize all the stretches after the butterfly method that you had us do. I now weigh 192lbs and I was surprised that I am just as flexible as I was when still doing dance. I was able to still touch the ground on butterfly method and a few others. I can still touch my nose to my knee when stretching my opposite arm to my opposite leg. Thank you for making this awesome stretching video with these great stretches. This has really made me miss dancing, especially ballet. I feel refreshed and ready to do some more lol. I definitely plan on doing these daily.
I’m trying to get back into exercise for my well-being. I’m not overweight (I’m close though) but I guarantee you the no-exercise thing isn’t good for my heart so I decide to start by working on my flexibility and doing 30 minute exercises everyday and this is the PERFECT stretching video for beginners. They were simple poses but still gave you the burn you needed. I am 160 lbs 5’6” right now and my goal by the end of the year is to be 135 lbs and to be able to do the splits.
Girl I ain't fit or flexible, I'm an overweight 30 years old whose daily exercise is walking 10.000 steps, but I really gave this my all and even tho my body can't do much of what yours can and I had to frequently stop and really question what was happening, I'll try to keep it up until I get better, it's only my first day!

How many times a week do you recommend a week should do this workout?
It’s a great 🥰❤️
Is there a level that's before beginner???? I just did this and learned I'm as flexible as a flagpole.
This girl is showing off a split ain't no beginner lol
Keep at it and you will slowly become more flexible.
LOL! 🤣

Same I feel like shit
ok I was feeling really discouraged because I cannot hold these poses but these comments made me feel so much better
They are for you to make your flexibility better so don't be disappointed. I can feel you but just focus on being better. All the best if you are still doing! ✌🏻😃

@@miaemblem8072 it really really works!!!
Katherine Maeve glad I’m not the only one! 😂 building good habits out here.

Katherine Maeve lol me too
Same here! No excuse now...

Dont look like beginner to me. Can’t even get close to my toes
Can you stretch as far as her now? And is this video the only stretching you did?
I’m struggling to find a program that is not in like 20 videos.
Finally someone makes sense
Yeah, exactly like you wrote, it's for beginners who committed several months before watching this video. Come on. Must be all about the water LOL
@@AreknamesAreknapes-vt3fh after committing to this routine for months, not after committing for months then starting the routine
Once a week on one of the rest day?

goggles789 my bad, thank you for letting me know!
I did it! I did it all! Yay me! I am 42 and really overweight and my doctor had me promise to stretch everyday
Why did he need you to make him that promise?
Way to go Jackie! Keep it up. 😁

This is actually the exact stretch routine they teach in serious dance classes as warmups before each lesson to prevent the dancers from injuring themselves. It may seem kind of thorough but trust doing this exact routine in this order everyday for a few months you will have flexibility for life.
Alright, I'll come back to this video once I'll subscribe to dance classes
Thank you. I'm 73 with arthritis in my hips. I started stretching with you last week and already I am having an easier time getting in the bathtub and putting on my shoes and socks, which had become more difficult since staying home so much during the pandemic. I felt that
I am dead
🤣
Lmao, that’s what I was thinking 🤣🤣🤣 I was like damn I should’ve held back some
I feel you the fact that I have been doing taekwondo for 5 years and still I am not flexible
Good advice. Instructor should be saying this.
It always hurts though but it feels comfortable. I don't know if that's alright
@@teenshii I would say until a certain point is has to hurt to increase the flexibility. Just know where your limit is :)

don't push yourself too hard on the first few days or otherwise you'll feel pain next day and won't be able to continue.
be consistent and always warm up a little before stretching.
Thank you!
How do you warm up for stretching, isn't stretching kind of a warm up?

Yes!! This stretch makes you feel so relaxed like you’re on a cloud
How long have you been doing them for?
Great job! ❤️ hehe you got an advantage 😉
HYPERMOBILE GANG GANG
yeah i'm not allowed to stretch near my shoulders because they pop out 😃👌
I also suffer from hypermobilty and the pain is unbearable at times I first started feeling really bad pain in my ankles when I was 5/6 and the pain in my ankles got worse when I sprained my ankle when I was 8 and when I was 10 I started getting really bad In my knees before that I would occasionally I have sore knees but it really became I problem when I was ten the first time it happened my ankles had been sore when I woke up and it was bearable and my mum gave me some medicine in the hopes it wouldn't get worse as I had school anyway I went to schools and my ankles got even worse throughout the day I told me teachers and I had to skip p.e and I sat Inside at lunch with my friends and I got some more painkillers from the office (my mum gave some to the office and signed a form saying that I was to take some If I was in pain) it don't help and my mum and to come get me as I was nearly in tears later that day I could feel the pain creeping up my leg into my knees and when I got really bad In my knees and cause my ankles were so sore I was crying my eyes out and I was nearly screaming I just lay in not moving a muscle.
My shoulders and neck strated bother me when I popped my shoulder out when I was 8/9 but it wasn't like when I popped it out in the when I had popped it out before then as I had also maneged to pull my neck and shoulder muscles and after I did it I tarted screaming and fell to floor because if the pain and I was doing the simplest of things when I hurt my shoulder (I was hyper at the time so It was a bit more powerful and my movements/actions were over exaggerated but for someone without hypermobilty I wouldn't have popped their shoulder out)
@@Verystrongman84 ik how you feel I literally popped my shoulder out undoing socks
Congratulations!! Keep going!

If this is for beginners I think I need whatever comes before beginner.

She forgot to repeat 21:00 on the other side and I think some stretches were held for less time. Other than that this was really helpful!
Agreed. When she intros the stretch, she takes/holds longer. Then on the other side, she goes through it faster/shorter hold time.
YES! Lol I thought I was the only one. Definitely a little bit annoying because then I have to pause the video to repeat the other side and also to pause when I feel like the stretch went too fast.
Yeah I struggled to follow the video cause the second side was held significantly shorter than the first but other than that it was a great one
I was wondering if anyone else noticed those things. Lol. I LOVE this video and do it every day but I have to rewind it when I get there each time
Oh well
I have been doing this routine about 3x a week for the last month.
You can do it!!!
xoxo
Thanks for sharing! I just started doing it before my runs now I think I will do a stretch in the evenings too after my back and core workout
I also have trouble with lower back pain, hopefully this helps me too!
Yes! Do it every other day or maybe three times a week when starting out, so your muscles get a chance to rest and recover, but keep at it! That's the most important thing. Maybe set a goal for yourself, like, I want to be able to keep this pose for this many seconds, and work towards that over time to keep yourself motivated.
Any update on the flexibility? Xo
Great stretch video, thank you! My daughter and I have been doing this every day. (1:57 is the start time for reference if you are doing this every day too 😊).
This video called me inflexible in 20 different languages, but I love it
😂
We’ll just hold on for a few seconds... but but but it hurts 😭

Upper body stretching: This is fine.
Lower body stretching: I'M DYING
I’m happy to know I’m not the only one! 😂

Lmaoo true
I think that’s cause we move our upper body more than lower
@@argeliabustamante5569 😆
I just did this whole routine and felt more relief in my hips and lower back than I ever have from a chiropractor or physical therapy appointment. Thank you for sharing! It always amazes me to see how truly capable our bodies are of healing themselves.
Elizabeth Bohanan stretching is so important, I’m a 18 yrs trained sports therapist & now training in osteopathy too. I am always giving my clients stretching / strengthening exercises. Sooooo beneficial!!
Although this video has definitely shown how much I’ve neglected myself over the last few years 🙈
how can you assure you have your back not bent while doing streches?
@@saraawde401 depends on the exercise you're doing, but if you're standing or seated, imagine there is a hook on the top of your head at the back and imagine someone is pulling you up from there as a puppet... hope that makes sense, it's more of a visual thing!
One week in and I can't believe how much progress I've made after 10 years of sitting in an office chair. I can touch my toes without bending my knees! Such a good routine to pair with yoga
Wow!! Thank you for sharing and motivating me because I also can't touch my toes. I'm about to start my flexibility journey. 😊
Not enough people comments on how Maddie’s cat made us forget about the pain
i didn’t av time to look at the video..i only listen to her and cried half of the time😂

Omg im literally doing the same thing right now because I’m procrastinating this 😂
Dear God, please forgive me for sinning, Amen
Lol, imagine someone went to heck for that 🤣
im just half assing the stretches and reading the comments while i try and listen to get a vague idea of what im supposed to be doing
Hi! I also have problems with my knees and want to improve stability. Can I ask which ones of the 15 min stretch videos you did?
Hope you are doing well! Best wishes
This is INSANE!!! I can assure you guys that this is really working!!! I started doing this last March 20, and now I can reach my toes but with a less pain.

Me : while doing this
My bones: the next song is crack crack crack

More stretch videos yes, please. I loved doing this with you. If you could do an upper body stretch. Neck shoulder and back.
Yesss my back feels left out, a full body stretch would be great
I do martial arts and have been struggling with flexibility -- Been doing this routine every day for 2-3 weeks now and it's helping me a lot! Feeling good :D
I love how naturally you instruct. It's like working out with a friend. It's been a few days since I've actually stretched this long. Stretching is soooo necessary! Hello fuzzy kitty!
it's insane how flexible she is, like literally she is touching her toes while sitting and meanwhile my hands are halfway there begging for mercy
Lol.. I relate to that!!!
You can get halfway? 🥲
Sameee!
I swear 🥴
Great stretching exercises, really enjoying them. The only problem i have is that you take much less time to stretch the other side of your body. And it’s forcing me to pause the vid. You should be stretching each side the same amount of time...
Sebastian Cerneka I realized the same, so I swich side day by day. One day I start with the right side, next day with the left one. It evens out the difference.
It's probably because one side is tighter. Usually the right side since it's the more dominant side so you gotta work it a little more. Once you know the routine, just listen to something else so you can work at your own tempo.
she also forgets a stretch after stretching the hamstrings.
I do the same. I use this video every day and know when to pause to keep stretching my other side
she has another stretches video for flexibility that might be different
I have been doing this routine for five years. This year, I started pilates and the instructor said that I'm very flexible. This is thanks to you ❤
Even if it's quite difficult and a bit frustrating, the feeling afterward is worth it 100%. It's like giving yourself a massage and mental unloading. Thank you a lot
"If you can touch your toes..."

I don't even know why I'm here.. Thanks to a spinal cord stimulater in my back I can't bend more than 90 degrees without running the risk of pulling my wires. though I probably couldn't bend anymore than that any ways. :( Fight on without me ladies!
ParkTaeKook Danity maybe just try them but really really slightly and dont push yourself too much!

My left leg isn't as flexible as my right. I feel like a one leg pirate 😭😭
Ahah I didn’t even attempt it the first few times I did this routine. Tried it today hurt like hell felt like my body was not meant to be doing that. Helped a lot that part, could do leg raises without my hips clicking
you don’t have to do it in 90 degrees, just slowly work your way up to it

2:04 the stretching begins
Also, this is the best stretching video ever!
