I have used Hemp Hearts and Chia seeds frequently so all I had to get was the Golden Flaxseed meal and I just finished a bowl following your recipe and it blew me away!! It did taste like oatmeal; I scraped the bowl clean and ran straight to the computer to THANK YOU!! It was really hard for me as my wife and children all love oatmeal and since I do most of the cooking it was always frustration capitol and one morning I gave in to the frustration and sure my blood sugar shot way up, so thank you again for making my life easier. In the Navy, I would award you a "E" for excellence.
I tried this recipe today after my hemp hearts arrived. So good and the smell of cinnamon as it was heating made my heart happy. The consistency and flavor are on point. I’ll be making batches of this dry mix to make the process even quicker for the upcoming months. Thanks, Joe!
I used to love to put bananas in my oatmeal.. and when I made this I added banana extract, with cinnamon, and nutmeg.. it was so delicious.. it does have a malt o meal, Avena, and grits consistency..

Super recipe! I've made this three times and it is my goto keto breakfast item. I don't use the golden flax--I use regular brown flax from Costco. I didn't pregrind it either. I only use a tablespoon of Swerve. I add 1 T of butter and a 1/4 cup of walnut pieces. I cook mine in the microwave for about 2 minutes. You are a recipe genius. This tastes comforting and has some fiber with low carbs. It's a top ten keeper for me. It's infinitely more healthy than oatmeal. THANKS Joe!

Yeah but that’s why I would recommend you to not try the keto replacements before you are fully fat adapted. From that point, you’ll crave less sweets and will probably have a more sensible “sweet detector” (meaning you’ll eat something that’s not that sweet and b satisfied) At that point, wether it tastes like “real” bread won’t matter, cause it’s good and nutritious
I’m saying that cause I went through the same things and made the mistake to start keto with replacements. Just stick to the basics for like 2 weeks or so, a month if you can, then you can have a little fun with those cookies, hamburger buns, etc. 😊
Made this just now and it's delicious! Real oatmeal would normally put me in a "carb coma" almost immediately. This had no effect other than fill me up. Thank you, Joe!!
OMG!!!!! Thank you JOE. I got the ingredients and tried this today. I changed the swerve confectioners to swerve brown And it’s just like having regular brown sugar oat meal.
This is fantastic! A cross between oatmeal and cream of wheat. I added a scoop of unflavored whey protein isolate, and then needed a touch more milk, I used unsweetened cashew milk. And a tablespoon of heavy cream. Really hit the spot on this chilly Florida day. I'm definitely going to do advance prep both dry mix and already cooked. Excellent nutritional amount of calcium and potassium as well.

I restarted keto a couple of weeks ago and was craving oatmeal in the worst way. This recipe saved me. I followed it to a tee and added 1tsp ghee, making it so delicious. Thanks for your great videos.
I am so happy to have found this recipe; it's delicious! It's so delicious that it seems impossible to be so low in calories and net carbs. I even loved it more when I reheated the other half for breakfast this morning. I put a little (maybe 1/2 tsp) of butter on it after microwaving it and then added some Choc Zero Maple Pecan syrup and since it's snowing here in Vermont today, this was the perfect breakfast! It doesn't remind me of oatmeal but more like Cream of Wheat or Maypo. Maypo is a hot cereal and I think it's more regional to where I grew up in upstate NY (5 minutes from the Canadian border and 45 minutes from Montreal). I have loved every one of your recipes I've tried! Thank you!
I JUST made this recipe for the VERY 1ST Time 5 min ago. It is the most amazing oatmeal substitute ever. I added 1 tablespopn of Kerrygold Irish Butter unsalted, as well as 20g of raspberries, 29g of blackberries, and 21g of blueberries as my topper. OMG 😍 oatmeal goodness on the cold MN day.

Very nice! I do a similar version with coconut flakes instead of coconut flour. Cinnamon and Swerve brown is delicious. I was trying to recreate the Highkey instant hot cereal because it's pretty pricey.

I made this and its awesome. I used cashew milk instead of almond milk. I dont find ot makes 2 cups but a little over 1 after it cooks down. I also made two batches 1 with swerve confectioners and 1 with Lakanto Monkfruit sweetner and found I like the.monkfruit better its less sweet. Best part of this recipe is the texture! I will make this savory as a sub for grits!!! I also have a steel cut oats recipe that uses garlic and green onions a broth. Oooh the possibilities!!! Thank you Jeff!!!
Delicious! I've tried multiple recipes and this is our favorite. We substituted organic, unrefined coconut sugar for the Swerve, which is about the same at 4 carbs.
Tried it, absolutely delicious! Thank you, I have missed eating oatmeal and have been skeptical about the “ just like oatmeal” other recipes I have seen. But this is one is great. Only change is that I ended up using more almond milk because I like my oatmeal more like a creamy “farina-like” consistency, but that’s just me. Thanks!

I’d say this has a cream of wheat texture. Alas, this is REALLY GOOD!! I put a lot of cinnamon cuz it’s a delicious spice. Curious if a small splash of apple extract would take it to another level!

I love this recipe and make it a few times a week, sometimes even for a lunch or dinner. I will make up baggies of the dry ingredients so if I'm in a rush i can just pull a pre made baggy out of my cupboard, drop in a pot add 2/3 almond milk and have a hot bowl of NOatmeal! Also great with a cut up fresh strawberry on top. Love it!

Can I use hemp seeds instead of hemp hearts in this recipe? I have the seeds already so I didn't want to go out and buy the hemp hearts. Ok eta: I ended up making a different oatmeal recipe last night using hemp seeds and flax seeds since I didn't have the hearts or flax meal... it wasn't terrible, it didn't have the consistency of oatmeal.. kinda slimy.. but, let me tell you what.. I went out today and bought hemp hearts and flaxseed meal (not golden because I couldn't find it) and made your recipe tonight. It was sooo amazing! I didnt blend the meal because I'm lazy and I was hungry... lol so the consistency was exaxtly that of oatmeal but I definitely wasn't mad at it. It kinda reminded me of cream of wheat, which I LOVE, so this was definitely a win. My 13 yr old daughter (who isn't keto) loved it too and said I need to make more. This will definitely be my go to recipe. Thanks for creating it!

I mush down my keto chocolate muffins made with almond flour right out of the oven, and pour coconut milk and add a teaspoon of coconut oil and put into into the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes and it tastes just like Malta Meal. This sounds great too!

If I like the recipe, I would probably mix the dry ingredients and portion it out into small ziplock bags, ready to go on the days I want keto oats

Flax seed meal can go rancid quickly, so don't mix too many ahead of time.
this makes the perfect keto grits by leaving out the cinnamon and sugar substitute and replacing with salt&pepper

I've been making this recipe for a few days now and I like it. I switched out Swerve for my preferred sugar substitute and it tastes just fine.

Coconut sugar contains the same carbs as ordinary sugar - 4 net carbs per teaspoon. Swerve has ZERO carbs.

Made it this morning. It was DELICIOUS! Replaced the swerve with1 tablespoon of lakanto brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of lakanto maple syrup.

Ok eta: I ended up making a different oatmeal recipe last night using hemp seeds and flax seeds since I didn't have the hearts or flax meal... it wasn't terrible, it didn't have the consistency of oatmeal.. kinda slimy.. but, let me tell you what.. I went out today and bought hemp hearts and flaxseed meal (not golden because I couldn't find it) and made your recipe tonight. It was sooo amazing! I didnt blend the meal because I'm lazy and I was hungry... lol so the consistency was exaxtly that of oatmeal but I definitely wasn't mad at it. It kinda reminded me of cream of wheat, which I LOVE, so this was definitely a win. My 13 yr old daughter (who isn't keto) loved it too and said I need to make more. This will definitely be my go to recipe. Thanks for creating it!

Used brown swerve added vanilla extract and a tbs butter..... sooo good!

Superb video! I used to eat oatmeal and now going Keto/low carb.
I mush down my keto chocolate muffins made with almond flour right out of the oven, and pour coconut milk and add a teaspoon of coconut oil and put into into the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes and it tastes just like Malta Meal. This sounds great too!
all this is very expensive in UK, except flax seeds. bet it tastes delightful
