For clarification, the first half of that solo was played by Myles, who tends to be more bluesy, and the second half was played by Mark, who tends to be more metal. Also this is the first and only guitar solo that ever gave me chills and made me cry. That was the day I decided to start learning guitar.

Blackbird written by Myles Kennedy for a friend who had passed away. He sold Myles his first guitar.

Fyi - the solo is actually made up of two parts - the first is done by vocalist Myles Kennedy, who is a very good lead and rhythm guitar player. The second half is done by lead guitarist Mark Tremonti.
The great thing about the solo is that they both express feelings that words alone cannot. Myles’ more bluesy part has feelings of sadness, longing and loss. While Mark’s more metal part emits frustration and anger, yet exultation as well!

Can't believe you didn't know Myles Kennedy 😮 He is one of the very best rock vocalists, his range is amazing. He is also vocalist in the Conspirators. The band that backs Slash on his tours, and he sings the Guns n Roses since waay better than Axl Rose !

I’m not sure what bridge. Yes, pun intended, you guys have been hiding under. Alter Bridge, one of the best bands for hard, rock, killer riding, phenomenal instrumentation. All four guys just kill it. And they’ve been doing it since like 2004. This was creed with the addition of Miles Kennedy. Their entire catalog is just phenomenal. Especially check out live in London at the Royal Albert Hall it’s exquisite.
Blackbird is one of their best songs, it’s just a banger with feeling. This song live is incredible
