This song is the definition of a masterpiece. I would highly recommend listening to the studio version to appreciate Myles' full vocal potential. Unfortunately Myles was sick during this performance, so he isn't at his best.

Raul…I am in my 50’s and only discovered them (AlterBridge) 2 yrs ago after researching Miles Kennedy (singer) from his work with Slash. I had never heard of them because of the sad state rock radio is in since the 90’s (they only play the same tired classic rock without giving new stuff a chance on air). They are now by far my favorite band! Their discography is fantastic from their first to today. They evolve with each record; but keep their classic rock and modern metal fusion sound throughout. Great vocals, melodies, and epic choruses and guitars throughout. I recommend you start by listening to their albums front to back starting with their first, and just go through their catalog like that. Too many great songs to list! Enjoy!
F’N supreme musicians and songwriters at the top of their craft! First 4 AB albums are great start to finish; yet evolve one to the next. The next two aren’t quite as consistently great (IMO only); but still have epic songs throughout! Fantastic band👍
Alter Bridge is my favorite band and Black Bird is my favorite song!!! I really love Words Darker than their Wings live at the Royal Albert Hall with the parallax orchestra a real great song that showcases his vocals and a great mixture with the orchestra! A very underrated band at least in America

This song was the inspiration for my first tattoo. That I got in memory of my son. It makes me tear up everytime I hear it. Like you said, it's a masterpiece.
