Thanks for a very good short view of one of the most beautiful states in Brazil. While living in Brasilia in the seventies and eighties we drove down to the South. I especially wanted to visit Santa Catarina, and specifically Pomerode, perhaps the most German of all the small towns in the country. I remember having a haircut in a barber shop. Canada is extremely corrupt country. Look at miles of footpaths and homeless people living there. Why don’t you make videos of such people. Show the truth instead of hiding away in Brazil. I have been to 70 countries and seen all types of places and people. Even weather itself is punishment for Canadian Boy think before you make videos about other countries showing only negatives of those countries. Show extensively the Canadian truth to this world otherwise wait those days when you get wisdom. Think before you upload
You mentioned about beach life. Outside summer, the cold Antartic current can flow north at any time, and this only comes to an end when it reaches São Paulo state (which is tropical year round). However, most tourists to Brasil go in summer (to get away from the Northern winter), so I suppose therefore that your narrative about Florianópolis is relevant and useful. My personal tip for security enables you to enjoy anywhere in Brasil - dress down, even as a pedreiro with paint spotted old clothes - after all, who do you want to impress? What benefits is it going to bring you???
I remember being advised to do that in South Africa. An Afrikaner said "They target you not because you're white it's because they think you have money"
Hi I really enjoy you making videos . I’m from usa , my gf is Brazilian, we are considering moving Santa Catarina. What do you recommend to learn Portuguese?
I did online Portuguese lessons (preply.com) while I still lived in Europe to get a good basic Portuguese and then when I arrived in Brazil I spoke Portuguese everyday and it improved very quickly.
I married a Brazilian too and she is from Curitiba. I loved living in Brazil 2 years and agree SC is the best state. I would like to invest in some beach and mountain/farm property, what are some good ways to find properties? Can you do a video of the search engines you use to find your properties? Muito Obrigado.
Start with the big real estate websites like vivareal, zapimoveis, imovelweb but you will then need to contact the estate agents that advertise on here as they do not list all of the properties they have on these websites
In terms of acquisition costs, you have pay a tax called ITBI which ranges from 2% to 4% depending on which city you are in. I paid 3% when I bought my property. Then there are some admin costs for registering the property but these are only 500 to 1000 euros.
I love the mix between nature and cities on the coast of Santa Catarina, like Florianópolis, Itajaí, Bmboinhas, Porto Belo, Balneário Camboriú, Itapema, Balneário Piçarras, Penhas, etc. But the best quality of life in Santa Catarina is found in the small towns, such as Pomerode, Treze Tílias, São Miguel do Oeste, Joaçaba, Timbó, Itá, among others.

Why nobody is talking about climate in Brazil? The only thing that I know and dislike about Brazil it is that it is very wet, hot with very high humidity. What area is dryer there?
The south has a subtropical climate, on the coast it can be hot and humid with lows above 20ºC and highs around 30ºC, but winters are cool and might be a bit cloudy, lows around 10ºC and highs around 20ºC. If you go to the mountains in the interior it is colder, there it is not common to have temperatures above 25/26ºC in summer and winter has most nights with temperatures below freezing and even some snow. The south east is somewhat similar, just a few degrees warmer and having a dry winter, the north is hot and humid all year round and the northeast has a semi arid climate, with some places in the interior having experiencing in the past severe droughts in which they stayed for years without rain. The center of the country has a savanna climate, with a dry season and a humid one.
@@rodrigopereira2694 Thank you very much. Seems to me south east has the mildiest climate that is important to older people. Still, a video that shows what people wear every typical season would be very helpful. Not only numbers.
its PArt of the TROPICALS dude, if go you to any country near the equator line it will be like that, filipines, southeast asia , also is like because of the TROPICA REGION.
@@axesantexmonero6628 It mostly is subtropical, not tropical. And there is mountains too that diversifies climate zones. Plus, it does not mean that everyone is familiar with tropic or subtropic climate and videos about weather in different places and different months still would be interesting and useful to many.
@@ИсаакБрнштейн I can't give you a video, but I can try to better illustrate. Take São Paulo in the southeast as an example, it's where I live, in the summer it's usually hot, but not extreme, I've had a worst experience in the summer of Toronto, where the sun is up till late at night and at midnight it was sill 30°C, very uncomfortable if you don't have an AC, meanwhile in São Paulo the sun is up until like 7:30 PM and we have daily storms in the afternoon which decreases a lot the temperature, so evenings are always pleasant with temperatures around 17°C and you can go well with a t-shirt and shorts and any shadow will do the job in the afternoon. Winters are very unstable when it comes to temperature, when we are under the influence of antarctic air, highs are usually between 11°C and 15°C and lows between 5°C and 8°C, with frosts on rural areas, but after a few days it gets warmer and usually sunny, with highs around 23° and lows around 10°C and it repeats weekly, so you would need a sweater or jacket after some cold front passes, but after those days afternoons are very pleasant, the climate here is very mild compared to many places in the world.
There are many place where you can buy a house rather than an apartment in high rise buildings. Generally these houses are located further away from the beaches or near beaches which are less nice. I will do some videos about this too
The Best Capital of Brazil : easily Florianópolis!! The Best State of Brazil: São Paulo, by a large margin to the second ranked ...... The Best Cities of Brazil : Maringá, SJ do Rio Preto or Indaiatuba Floripa is the best capital cuz it combines nature, city, and development in one place... it's just like the paradise.. São Paulo "State" is not posible to compare to any other.... just take a road trip from São josé dos Campos to Presidente Prudente (640kms) and the level of development and infrastructure around there is well above the rest, even Santa Catarina would need decades of investments to reach that level..... The mentioned cities as the best ,,, is more about the numbers......
lol, not at all, completely wrong in everything, curitiba is better, são paulo is not by a large margin, unless you remove the capital from the state, and the best cities are not these...
I love your videos talking about Brazil......Really, Really nice....It would be Really amazing if could you show other parts of the country....I believe there are thousand of wonderful places in this country........like Lençóis Maranhenses , Bonito in Mato Grosso do Sul , there are really nice cities in the countryside of São Paulo, for example....There is a fantastic Train ride from Curitiba to the coast in Paraná, one of the most beautiful we have here , The beaches in Fortaleza , Recife and Alagoas , also in the northeast of São Paulo , Also in the city of São Paulo there are a lot of interesting things to see , like , the beauty of Mata Atlântica , in the city of São Paulo we have ,Museu do Ipiranga , Jardim Botânico. The Subway system ,is very clean , it's one of the best in the world..São Paulo - Zona Sul is so beautiful. In Minas Gerais ,there are a lot of historic cities , like Ouro Preto and others. The of Natal with dunes. Cataratas do Iguaçu in the south , Pantanal , The Amazon jungle , and so forth...you could also speak some portuguese for the people who don't understand English .It would be really nice my friend. I this country has a lot of bad things , but it also has a lot of wonderful things ....the people, the landscape, the culture , and also the kindness and friendliness of brazilians is incomparable...well ,that's it....please continue making those vídeos. I like them so much. Thanks my friend for everything. You've done a good job.... Congratulations. !!!!
Florianópolis and Balneário Camboriú in general in the summer dont have quality, but from march until december its clean, and we have a lot of beaches close off this cities and better to swin. In Brazil we can drink and listen music, so its a nice ambient more than just swim

Not at all all, São Paulo country is the best and most rich part of Brazil, the diference is like South but there is job here, unlike South that have unemployment... But Brasil shock a lot of people because here the country have more GDP per capita, infraestructure and quality of life than the great cities like Campinas is better than São Paulo on jobs, a Lot of agro industries that manufacted the comodities, and country of Brazil is not country of Argentina or México, you can find transport, tracted water, industry and universities living side by side with cattle, South is good but not jobs, try São Paulo and Minas Gerais there is a lot of jobs and are more safe than South
AMERICA is an entire continent since 1507, composed of 35 countries, officially discovered and named in the South, more precisely in Brazil, by the Catholics and not by a bunch of Protestants Pilgrims who arrived in the American continent centuries later and didn't spend a cent on the enterprise of the discovery of America. Just read the history. Here is a good opportunity. "The name America (applied to present-day Brazil) appeared for what is believed the first time on Martin Waldseemüller's 1507 world map, known as the Baptismal Certificate of the New World, and also America's Birth Certificate." ... America and American refer to the discovery, conquest and colonisation of the American continent by the Catholics. It will never be a country. And the Germans were not immigrants, they are in Brazil since the time of the discovery, they were colonisers and the yellow colour of the Brazilian and German flags represent the House of Habsburg. Empress Leopoldine von Habusburg an Austrian/German Empress was also Empress of Brazil during the XVIII century and she is buried in the Imperial Cript in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Spanish never had presence in Brazil. They had presence in the Hispanic America and United States, a former Spanish possession and colony for centuries before the arrival of the Protestants.

NO IT IS NOT the best state in Brasil These states in the south are more expensive than others The ocean water is freezing by my standards vs the north of Brasil and not enjoyable IF you want to do a lot of swimming, you can't Especially Florianopolis, the population increases 3x in the summer - Dec to May. Summer rentals can be r$500+ $100 per DAY Many beach towns GO TO SLEEP in the winter. Many restaurants and stores close for 6 months Nice place to visit but not to live long term The NORTH of Brasil is much more enjoyable for full time living I am talking about Fortaleza, Recife, Maceio, Salvador etc WARM ocean waters all year round, great for swimming (except for Recife where sharks regularily eat tourists) You can swim there but not in real deep water out near the reefs where the sharks live There ARE nice beaches without sharks nearby too The NORTH is much cheaper as far as cost of living and with real estate You can buy a 2br apto for r$110,000 reais in many places in the north, that is $22,000 usd ! A NO BRAINER
The right wing is not an issue. you can always move to Venezuela and Cuba and experience what the left wing really means. I can't believe people still talking like this. Because of the Left wing tendency, many business in Brazil closed down leaving Brazillians with no jobs.

Canada is extremely corrupt country. Look at miles of footpaths and homeless people living there. Why don’t you make videos of such people. Show the truth instead of hiding away in Brazil.
I have been to 70 countries and seen all types of places and people. Even weather itself is punishment for

Boy think before you make videos about other countries showing only negatives of those countries. Show extensively the Canadian truth to this world otherwise wait those days when you get wisdom.

A beautiful place would love to live there .. how can some locate here from overseas?
Will do a video this week about relocating
I love Santa Catarina state 🥰🥰🤗👍🏻😉‼️
👍😊
You mentioned about beach life.
Outside summer, the cold Antartic current can flow north at any time, and this only comes to an end when it reaches São Paulo state (which is tropical year round).
However, most tourists to Brasil go in summer (to get away from the Northern winter), so I suppose therefore that your narrative about Florianópolis is relevant and useful.
My personal tip for security enables you to enjoy anywhere in Brasil - dress down, even as a pedreiro with paint spotted old clothes -
after all, who do you want to impress? What benefits is it going to bring you???
Thanks for your comments!
If you are thinking of moving this way and would like to someone here, get in touch.
Talk more about the backland of our state, please. It s an amazing place to live too.
I really liked it, but I have only went there for a short trip
Thank you

The best for sure.

If i want to buy a house in santa catarina, i saw for about 200k Euro really nice houses there.
What costs do i have to expect when buying property ?

SC is very nice indeed
indeed, some of the smaller cities have some of the best quality of life in the country, combined with a very cheap cost of living

Is there a way we can email? I have some questions for you.
Have you been anywhere else in Brasil?
I will do videos about the other states that I have been to soon 👍
Ate there any towns on tbe beach that have no high-rise building. A place where someone would actually want to live all year ,raise a family.
There are many place where you can buy a house rather than an apartment in high rise buildings. Generally these houses are located further away from the beaches or near beaches which are less nice. I will do some videos about this too
You can search about Porto Belo, Bombinhas, Piçarras, some places from Florianópolis...
The Best Capital of Brazil : easily Florianópolis!!
The Best State of Brazil: São Paulo, by a large margin to the second ranked ......
The Best Cities of Brazil : Maringá, SJ do Rio Preto or Indaiatuba
Floripa is the best capital cuz it combines nature, city, and development in one place... it's just like the paradise..
You are right that São Paulo state is very nice as well!
lol, not at all, completely wrong in everything, curitiba is better, são paulo is not by a large margin, unless you remove the capital from the state, and the best cities are not these...
Todo o interior de SP é superior ao que existe em SC ou Parana.
Yes it is. The why's are controversial to discuss.
👍
Are the beaches that are not appropriate for swimming is that have to do with bacteria due to sewage runoff?
Yes its mainly sewage runoff. The mayor of Florianopolis has promised to tackle this problem so hopefully it should get better.
Florianópolis and Balneário Camboriú in general in the summer dont have quality, but from march until december its clean, and we have a lot of beaches close off this cities and better to swin. In Brazil we can drink and listen music, so its a nice ambient more than just swim

There were 596 homicides in Santa Catarina in 2022 and its population was around 7,800,000 which gives a homicide rate of around 7/100,000 people. They had presence in the Hispanic America and United States, a former Spanish possession and colony for centuries before the arrival of the Protestants.
it would be great if it wasn't a part of brazil, sadly

NO IT IS NOT the best state in Brasil
These states in the south are more expensive than others
The ocean water is freezing by my standards vs the north of Brasil and not enjoyable
IF you want to do a lot of swimming, you can't
Especially Florianopolis, the population increases 3x in the summer - Dec to May.
Summer rentals can be r$500+ $100 per DAY
Many beach towns GO TO SLEEP in the winter.
Many restaurants and stores close for 6 months
Nice place to visit but not to live long term
The NORTH of Brasil is much more enjoyable for full time living
I am talking about Fortaleza, Recife, Maceio, Salvador etc
WARM ocean waters all year round, great for swimming (except for Recife where sharks regularily eat tourists) You can swim there but not in real deep water out near the reefs where the sharks live
There ARE nice beaches without sharks nearby too
The NORTH is much cheaper as far as cost of living and with real estate
You can buy a 2br apto for r$110,000 reais in many places in the north, that is $22,000 usd ! A NO BRAINER
Thanks for your comments, you are right that the north of Brazil is very nice as well!
