Nothing wrong with a wooden splitter for proof of concept, and to be fair it looks very well done. It's a decent size, well sealed to ensure it doesn't stall or bleed of air and raked in the middle to reduce pitch sensitivity. As for mounting, etc. that I can't judge, but I guarantee it is better than 99% of shitty lips on cars which are purely asthetic

Just so you're aware for the next time you book, the "large vehicle" section on the train isn't any wider than the back end of the train, it's just a single deck instead of double deck. Saves you some money.
I took my 7 series into the car train and was worried about damaging my freshly refurbished wheels too.. Ended up going about 2mph through the entire train lmao
People commenting on the splitter not realising marine ply is the go-to for chassis mount splitters on track/race cars. Been used for years. Totally normal but at least normally painted black 👍😂

Some gaffer tape and cardboard, bodge an air scoop with that window hole. Always take gaffer tape on a track day! Better still, get a trailer, it's not a touring car
Surely you could have made a better front splitter than that piece of plywood, you haven't even rounded the edges, you could have developed it a bit more to give you more front downforce as well.

@@Gabasto there is no French law against modified cars, as long as you have declared every modification to your UK insurance which will be shown on your insurance certificate, and the car is road legal ie insured, tax, mot and you drive sensible. It is not illegal. If you drive dangerously in a modified vehicle then you are just asking for trouble.

I feel you on the no ac... The previous owner of my evo had the ac removed, and I only have the small slots in the windows same as yours. I went and had the aircon reinstalled it was so horrendous sitting in pitlane for sometimes 30 minutes in full race suit absolutely worth every penny to have it back 😂
Oh and to top it off, the seats are a bit too small. So on a long drive my legs would pinch a bit and would get pins and needles in my feet and legs 😂😂
Quite surprised you havent added some cushioning along the touch points or critical points of the cage....not that they'll have much of an effect in an impact without a helmet but still would make climbing in and out a tair bit easier going reducing risk of bashing.limbs and head directly to metal.....

But I have noticed this aero dynamic error at so many cars especially the angle of your car's front lip it should have pointed down at the end to keep the front pressed downward than being levelled which makes the front bouncy because air is switching between lower and upper of the lip. Most GTIs have rear spoilers below the car's highest...
Been looking to buy one for about 2 months now but can't find a decent example that anit full of scratches, paint chips, damaged alloys, paint bubbling on alloys wheels, chipped wind screen etc and their all up for silly money considering the condition of the cars. I thought the vag group cars are expensive due to quality of the workmanship, well I'm not finding it, they all look like shit after about 3 years from the ones I've looked at and I've been looking at the golf r and seat leon cupra's (20 plate cars). Can't find anything that in good condition around the east midlands area, will be out again this weekend looking. There's so much junk around that's not worth buying. These car supermarkets have so much junk on site it's unreal.........................

That splitter makes Max Power look tasteful. Get rid, it does bugger all (unless you have air tunnel data to suggest otherwise) and spoils car.

You don't need a wind tunnel lol. Put a splitter on, test it, if it has too much front end reduce splitter size until happy.
