@@olivert3838 That was my thought too, especially in the rear - came unstuck pretty abruptly. Maybe just dial down the compression a bit at both ends with a bit softer yet in the rear.
Awesome video mate! Track cars are never complete, people know this. You have to give them hard shake downs like this to see which areas you next need to focus on improving. Misha is a next level driver. Definitely king of the Ring! Excited to see what you do with it next!

@@johnboy2436the tyres were cold at the start bud and I can’t say that that handled bad at all for how hard that was driven just a shame about cooling really but the car has never really been driven like this before, only way to find faults with the car is drive it hard for a long time and the faults will be pin pointed, he now knows what needs doing too make this car complete….. and plus a car with cage and lots of stiffness in the cars suspension body etc will make the rear end twitchy as there’s gunna be no or not much body roll ?
Ohlins road and track, and you need a set of PFC brakes and Endless MA45Bs at minimum also get brake cooling ducts. Heat management: Racingline additional oil cooler, CSF water cooler, CSF additional cooler Dont track it without these TCR sytle open hood too
And buy the Verkline set. Google Verkline, and buy everything they offer for the Golf R. You will not regret it. Then bring it back for him to drive again

Do you recon I should go for it or wait another year or two?
Personally don’t think Misha looked very impressed driving this. Seems to understeer severely, lacks grip exiting the corners, and I can see it’s getting heat soaked which is probaly why it went into limp mode with the oil temps getting high.
Reading some very negative comments, yes the car looked a little scatty but when are these cars ever finished. Seeing what’s been done already I just know the car will be taken even further with what’s been learnt from this outing. Cooling Brakes Suspension tweaks Done 💪🏻

You should be proud of where you are: taking a vehicle to this level. It takes time for cars to be ideal, depending on the application you desire. had myn was almost finished until I racked it, so I'm basically beginning over: Misha is highly esteemed, which is why he is your go-to guy: you definitely have minor problems to address: Adding a buttom Areo lip that is supposed to support the car, but instead does the opposite, is a challenge. I would have the Gents redesign it: maybe divide it into two portions: then test: Amazing!!👏👏👏
He has allot of supporting mods done at reputable shops. If they felt it needed more? They would have done it. Fore where it is now power wise? Its all it needs.
@@GolfRJthere’s no such thing as safe , it’s all pot luck if it lasts or not, he keeps up with maintence etc so he’s got a good chance it will last but like I say they can still go bang. Always got to have some money aside or a back up plan in case the worst

For a purpose built track car this thing was useless, it’s all over the place. You could tell Misha wasn’t impressed. It couldn’t even complete a full lap 😢
There isn't a purpose built track car in the world that was built and perfect from day 1, more time goes into testing and tweaking than anything else, they're never really finished 👍

I'd say 50k including car. Can easily drop a few thousand on a diff with labour. Gotta be 5-7k to get from stock to stage 3 with engine hardware and tuning then another 10k on handling mods. The coilovers he has must be 3-4k. Brake kit another 3k... All the aero, wheels, seats, it's endless...

Sure loads of peeps would love to know cost not cos of jealously but to put into perspective and to work out how much we have to save to get things done !

Thanks for understanding! It’s a project & never complete! It’s done approx 20 track days, but this was it’s first time at the ring - arguably the most intense outing for the car, especially with a highly skilled driver

Get the Goodyear F1 Supersports like igot on my GTI Clubsport! Youll have better traction mate they stick like Ironed Glue to the tarmac mate! They said to have even better traction the Michelin 4S or similar 👍
I wouldn’t be too upset it didn’t complete the lap. The latest civic couldn’t either, and that was meant to be stock. Makes me question their lap record! The handling looked skittish on yours however, adding large aero is great, but that looks a bit off balance to put it mildly.

I do have an oil cooler yes. As for the braking setup, it’s more than substantial for my driving capability!

Stage 3 and no oil cooler? A oil cooler is even needed with a stock non tuned engine on track. and on hot days it's even worse.
