Apparently these upgrade kits also work on the Mk3S clones. I’ve heard of people successfully using the official Prusa Mk.4 upgrade kit on the Fysetc Prusa Mk3S clone, which from what I can see is a 1 to 1 copy of the genuine Mk3S. Thinking of doing that myself
Price is important but not everything. I also did the Update, it was fine and I had less problems with the heatbed, maybe I wasnt rushing or filming while I was doing it. The update also helps to minimize Waste and is from all the available updates the best. The firmware bug for the leveling was fixed quite fast and also the beta firmware for the touchscreen is now live I think. They take time to validate things and dont just talk about a price or the performance. I do recommend the update, if you get a used mk3 for cheap it is also not that stupid to do. (price wise) It is still reliable like before, but much faster now :-D
Little note on the touchscreen: Firmware 6 is released now. Still gotta manually enable it though. Also includes silent mode, which I don't notice a difference with. (My MK4 is sitting on the rubber pads it came with, on top of rubber pads for a washing machine for cable pinch peace of mind, on top of a 16x16in paver stone, on top of 2.5in of closed cell shipping foam.)
I just did it this weekend. Pretty worthwhile upgrade. The speed are pretty quick, but of course it’s that impeccable Prusa quality. You can even crank up the speed to 200% for fun and set your heater and flow rate a little higher and you can basically get the same speed as as a core Xy and the motors, don’t even get hot. Although I’m happy with 100%.
I just upgraded my mmu2s to an mmu3 on my mk3s+. It sat in a corner for 6 months because I have 4 bambu printers (x1c, p1p, a1 mini etc). Immediately remembered how brutally slow the mk3s+ is relatively speaking. So I ordered the 3.5 upgrade kit, and hope to bring it up to a more modern standard. Didn't see any value in the mk3.9 or mk4 kit as they are just too expensive and approaching the price of a new mk4 complete kit.
Did you consider switching to Klipper firmware as an alternative? You could have saved a lot of labor by not rewiring the printer and a few hundred dollars, albeit at the expense of Prusa's support.
I was thinking about this upgrade, but for the price of it, i can have now brand new Bambu lab A1. So i can have one slower printer for non hurry parts, and one which will be cca the same as Upgraded one. I dont need another printer, but i think that price for this upgrade is just too expensive for what it is, and you need to manually install everything and even print new parts for it.
I already sold my Mk3 this past month but I still enjoyed the video very much! Instead I got a P1S and have never looked back. Yes, I did have a close bond with the Prusa's but being from 2017 and all it just wasn't being used. The video format was very clean and descriptive yet straight to the point!
@0:21 ... depends ... I had 2 MK3S+ and it was cheaper to sell them and buy 2 new MK4's, then buying 2 upgrade kits. But then again, I'm also a lazy printer 😂
Over here (Germany )the upgrade costs 279€ while a new box standard P1P (with uncertain support future (tentions between china and the western world are rising after all)) costs 499€. Its a regional pricing issue for sure. I have 4 MK3S/+, 1 mini plus and a MK4 2 of my MK3S are already upgraded to MK3.5 Im thinking of getting 2x MK3.9 kits but will prob only do 1 and the other will become another 3.5😅
The comments about the thermostat are hilarious. It’s like when dumb people complain about some thing and it’s really their fault. To me it just seems unfathomable that step 29 is removed the old thermostat which is clearly covered by aluminum tape and then step 30 is put tape down and nobody put two into together that five seconds ago. You just peeled aluminum tape off of the thermostat, why God would you not put the thermostat down first Logic instead of blindly reading step-by-step It’s amazing 2+2 didn’t add up
With today's price of the mk4 kit(750€), the upgrade to 3.9 (450€) is not worth it, especially with the 100€ discount they offer, easier to sell the mk3s for 200€, and the world is a better place with two printer instead of one ;)
P1P is just a P1S without panels P1S is just a P1P with panels Hardly an upgrade. All you're doing is adding an enclosure and it's really no different than just 3dprining your own panels which is what bambu intended with the P1P in the 1st place. The prusa MK3.5 is a true upgrade kit. As you completely change the printer and how it functions. No other company offers true upgrade kits for their printers other than prusa.
I wanna know the long term strategy of bamboo labs... I highly doubt they will offer what prusa does, seeing as they are a chinese company and usually those dont really care for these sort of things... Im just saying that one of my mk3's i have was upgraded from an original mk2 and will now become a MK3.9😅
Thanks for watching + let me know if you have any questions about the upgrade! :D
Love that there is more than one type of upgrade kit! Very cool comparison between the original and the new upgrade 😀
Would love to see someone make a review of that, sounds very interesting and funny enough in spirit with open source
"kind of like training your replacement before getting fired" lol
fr tho

I like my upgraded printer, really neat and I am now ready for the coming software improvements of the next years

Great video!! I will probably get a new Mk4 instead of upgrading. That way I will have 2 printers moving forward despite the slow speed of the Mk3s+
The price/performance ratio falls short. I can keep my Mk3s and _add_ a Bambu Mini for the same price as this upgrade.
1:50 fat fingers=fat beats?^^ im relly glad ive found your channel m8. short videos, with only information and no blah blah
Also a reason… you have a mk3 and still love it but you want to use MMU3 ❤️
i noticed a big improvement after the upgrade to 3.5

I love this kind of content

I guess regional pricing hits hard...
The upgrade over here is 279€😅
The price of these upgrades is wild. The middle and top end upgrades are straight up enough to buy a P1P/S
Over here (Germany )the upgrade costs 279€ while a new box standard P1P (with uncertain support future (tentions between china and the western world are rising after all)) costs 499€.

No other company make so similar product either

The cost of the upgrade is about as much as the price of an a1
Buy an A1 then.
Math is easy.
please donate a old 3d printer to Cape Town please
Imagine if Apple released a kit to turn your Iphone 13 into a 14... 😂
*for the price that's $100 less than a brand new 14
Just to let you know if you have a Bambu labs p1p you can upgrade it to a p1s.
P1P is just a P1S without panels

Prusa are good I have one but also a rip off.
wait, you dont even get the nextruder, what a pointless upgrade
You can get the MK3.9 if you want..?
@@DJProPlusMax yeh my dumbass didnt even see that it was 3.5 I thought it was just a mk4 kit
