All I can say is you are AWESOME!!!I am so glad I found your Video! I have a 2015 Mustang that this silly little plastic part broke on me. I needed my Mustang fixed quick. I followed your instructions with the O'riely temporary part and ordered the Toyota part off amazon. I put double sided tape on a flat head screwdrivier stuck the part in easily. I also removed the switch so I had room. It was a bit cramped for my 60 year old narrow can, but the Mustang is fixed! Thank you so much! 👍

2-years later, Ford now has a recall out on these. You can double fold a business card and place it in the gap to save your battery and next day get it to the dealer. Or most repair shops can do it. 8 dollar part, 0.3 hours labor. Cost me $62.00 parts and labor at my local GoodYear. I'm good with that. I'm 6'6' so I chose that route. But your video is much appreciated and well done. Although watching this video I considered donating my mustang to Goodwill and buying another one rather than breaking my back for an 8 dollar part :0. Just kidding...

The same thing happened to me, I was merging on the freeway and it was like the car just died, the car behind me almost go into my car. I can't believe the amount of people in the comments with the same problem, Ford really messed up with this crappy cheap plastic part. I settled for the magnet solution since that's all I had available : I was 400 miles away from home on a Sunday during the labor day week-end, God bless Home Depot lol

I have the same problem on a 2015 F150 Lariat. Found the little bits of plastic on the mat, brake lights on, limp mode enabled and hill assist warning on dash. Thanks for the video and the part numbers. Saved me $500 at the dealer.

Thank you for the video. I just went to the Toyota dealer with the part number and got the bumper. I dont have a GT but an Ecoboost and works great. Lights are working again.

Man I had the exact same thing on my GT 2015 Automatic Brake light on and poor acceleration. Found the broken pieces on the floor mat this morning. Replaced with push rivets from O Rielly`s and worked like a champ. You just saved me probably at least $500. Thanks again for the trouble shooting and the fix.

Hey man! Just wanna say thanks for the video. I had to change the clutch master cylinder and during that I process (which was a giant pain in the ass) I somehow lost the rubber button. The car did exactly what you described and your fix totally fixed the issue! Thanks again man!
