  • Here is a quick fix for your brake lights staying on when the car is locked / turned off and parked.
    This issue has been noted that the Car's computer sees the brake response and makes adjustments to transmission and engine performance to compensate for braking.
    MAKE SURE TO READ COMMENTS BELOW
    If anyone is having issues with your clutch, the same grommet is used for the clutch switch as well.

      Hello was this on all males and models? For the recall? We are having the same issue but haven’t received a letter.

      @@priscyllasadventures978 recall hasn't been called yet. This may only be limited to 2015 to 2016 model years. Hopefully someone would chime in on newer models

      Sorry I meant makes* lol but that’s for understanding that. Yes I have a 2015 model called the dealership and checked the ford website and still no recalls, this just happened last night so we used your suggestion. They told me the part is about $47ish but that doesn’t include labor, so I’m thinking if I should just wait.

      @@priscyllasadventures978 the recall will be for other Ford and Lincoln models. Ford has not issued the recall officially, they have noted a recall will be coming. So we have to wait, but my fix is still working fine since the release of this video.

    Just had this issue happen to me today and notified a loss in RPM’s and no throttle response while accelerating. Thought it was a fuel injector or throttle body issue but saw this video on a forum just before booking a dealer appointment. $5 later the problem is fixed! Thank you a ton and I need to have a word with Ford engineers 🤦🏽‍♂️

    Thank you very much for posting this video man! I had to constantly use jumper to recharge my battery due the lights that didn`t go off, was a headache for months! My 2015 Ecoboost started having those issues after replacing the battery. Firstly, I joined a Mustang forum and asked people about those issues and anybody provided a clear answer! So, brought my car to auto-electrics and they suggested going to the Ford dealer because those issues could be related to the ECU and they would not be able to fix it! At Ford, they said it was the press brake switch due a sort of short-circuit, which would cost me about 300 to 400 dollars. Finally, I decided to buy a press brake switch for $30 and started searching videos in how to replace it when I found this one here. It`s unbelievable how easy was to fix it (after watching your video off course), I just threw a pillow on my car floor to get a comfortable position, placed a piece of plastic and done! Was not necessary even replacing the switch! This video is so helpful!!!

    MR3Z-7583-A is the official part number from Ford you need. The dorman 963-514d part fit in just right but wouldnt depress the switch all the way so I added some foam tape to solve the trick, but the official part #MR3Z-7583-A is literally the same exact piece but slightly bigger. I thought it was the brake light switch at first, then after searching the Tube I noticed that a number of posts mentioned the broken rubber pieces on the floor...I had them, too. So, I am about to use some of these sticky rubber dots that are used to keep things from marring and scratching, or keeping items from sliding on furniture. I just happen to have some. They are the same thickness as the broken pieces on my floorboard. Now I can get my $35 back from O'Reilly's! - Update! It works! Simple free fix!

      The brake pedal has a small hole at the top, where a small soft plastic fitting snaps in. Without that piece the brake sensor peg will go thru that hole and cause the brake lights being on issue. You have to press down the pedal to see the area at the top.

    • @nicklldoit
      @nicklldoit  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a new issue, does it stay when the car is off and doors are locked? I do know there are issues with the rear brake lights when the car is running. I had an issue where one of my light bars on the left tail stayed on the bright brake setting. I had to replace the entire housing, because the damaged part being the electronic board was mounted inside the housing. This is the issues we get for LED lighting

    • @nicklldoit
      @nicklldoit  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mariodelapena09 if it's the issue you see in my video, your rear brake lights should be on as well. When that small brake part is broken, all 3 brake lights should be on. If it's just your window brake light that is on, that maybe another issue. I would test the brake pedal first, press down on the brake pedal and stick a thicker piece of card or whatever you may have between the sensor and the small piece you replaced. See if that resolves the issue or not.

Got to advance auto parts and they sell a multi part kit called rubber bumper assortment, part number 45393 from the company Dorman. Take the one(there are 3 that look the same) that looks like a tadpole. Make sure the old white plastic is all out of the hole on the brake pedal.
