That wall paper is amazing
Thanks for the review!
You're welcome 🔥
Was waiting on this review. I'm going with the Asus OLED PG34, That KVM switch feature is amazing.
I would also personally go for the Asus version for that as well 🔥Glad you made up your mind
Will you also review the 45" version ?
wait fire wolf what do you do with your other monitors you sell them ? or you do a give away ? also would you recommend the MSI MAG 341CQP or pg34wdcm
Sick review! Was waiting for this. Are you going to review the Asus version of this monitor when it comes out? I saw you did the 34" version a while back.
Yes when it comes out I’ll be adding it to my list of reviews 🔥
this channel is so underrated i love to see you review oled monitor i think you should review new oled tv too when they come out
I really appreciate this comment 🔥♥️ doing larger oled TVs would be awesome. I’ve done 42-inch TVs like the C3 and A90K, just need a bigger space to be able to do larger TVs. One day 🔥
Your wallpapers are amazing, where can i find them??
Great review btw
Thanks for the feedback 🔥
These wallpapers are from Wallpaper Engine which you could get from Steam. It’s a few dollars but worth it since you get access to thousands of wallpapers
could you compare this with the LG45?
I run a 38gn950 which you commented on when talkin about resolution. As much as I'd like to upgrade to OLED, I just don't want to sacrifice the vertical resolution. Its got a really bright 730 nits NanoIPS panel too so its by no means a cheap panel.
True and understand had it for a bit but the contrast ruins ips and it's impossible to go back. Theres a mod for dldsr to go to 5120x2160
Which monitor are you personally going to use?
Sick review deciding between this or the 45…
I remember my experience with the LG 45GR and it was awesome for gaming. But with the same 3440 x 1440, the PPI is even worse than the 39 🥲
The new 45 is on my list for future review
@@FireWolfTech the ppi should be fine for just gaming. Lg is releasing 5k2k 45” next year but that would be too hard to push for my 3080. It would be sufficient for years but it’s hard to wait lol. Do you think 5k2k would be much better for gaming? Idk
Yes gaming is perfect and allows for more performance and frames out of your GPU.
Higher resolution would look nice but it really depends on your GPU. We'll see what next gen GPU's bring to the table
@@FireWolfTechyeah getting the 5k2k means I have to buy the 5080 as well 💸
@@balotellitubbies5997 have you ever tried dsr? It lets you play at higher resolutions on a lower res monitor. I'm getting this 39 inch because my philosophy is that nothing right now can run 5k ultra wide at 120+ framerstes, and I doubt the 5090 will be that much of a jump. So for games that actually can run 5k ultra wide rn like doom, I'll just use dsr
How deep is the stand?
Should I wait until these are 3840x2160?
Hi @firewolftech! I’m in desperate need of your help on something with this monitor. I’m unable to select 10-bit color over hdmi - only when using DP with DSC, or if I I go down to 144hz on hdmi. I’m using a 4080 and have tried multiple cables. Am I missing something here, or is this monitor not capable of selecting 240hz 10-bit over in NVidia control panel? Lg support has been no help in this matter and I’m trying to figure out if my unit is defective. PLEASE HELP!
Update: I noticed that NVCP panel will keep crashing or show a blank box for color depth after changing to 240hz. But interestingly, I noticed that I use “default color settings”, it defaults to 10-bit in windows. Does this mean that I’m in “limited” color range now? I’m also wondering if this is an issue with compatibility in NVCP panel. I got warning messages that my monitor was in unsupported 2160p, and games would close to windows shortly after. This maybe worth additional commentary for your review if you have similar findings. Looking forward to any advice :)
Thanks for skipping over the PBP/PIP, it was the one info I hoped to find somewhere as I could not find it on official specs for some reason. What options are there if any?
Sorry ! I usually include PBP/PIP but since I already did the 34-inch review, I skipped that. Here's the link for the 34 version : th-cam.com/video/DbRwUGeFv9Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ppUJpr8Qzl1av59N&t=624 it should start at 10:24 where I briefly cover PBP. There is PIP as well.
@@FireWolfTech Thank you, going to check that.
Can u review the Odyssey ark?
That's a huge and heavy monitor 😅 I actually had the 2nd gen a few months back, but the size and weight was too much for me to really give a good review. The dial and having multiple inputs is a huge selling point, but at the time I didn't have a way to really use it and didn't feel I could give a good review
I think it is time to get presented to a 4k ultrawide monitor, 3440x1440 getting bigger in size is not what I'm expecting for the new gen of monitors.
5120x2160 coming end of the year/next year
This monitor or Alienware 32” 4K QD-OLED
Whitch ones is better visual gaming ?
The Alienware for visual gaming because its 4k, high ppi, and QD-OLED.
This LG is not 4k, low-ppi, and using W-OLED.
QD has slightly better color, W-OLED has better black.
@@btsan408 thank you
This is a great monitor (although for me personally, it's the 45inch version or bust XD)
Go big or go home 🔥
Just wish LG had higher resolution for these large monitors 😅
I think as you say the resolution/pixel density is too low,. I also find it too expensive as LG UG45 are actually cheaper at less than $1000.
My advice would be to stick with 34 OLEDs until the higher res OLEDS versions come out...likely end of 2025.
Here's my question: where is oled pixel cleaning!?
new oleds dont need refresh after 4 hours - its best to do it every day after finishing with the monitor. No need to stop what youre doing to refresh the screen.
The LG automatically does a refresh after 4 hours of CUMULATIVE use AFTER the display is turned off. You don’t stop what you’re doing
Do you think this LG 39” is a worthy upgrade over my Alienware AW3423DW?
It’s a tough answer.
On one end you get a nicer and brighter OLED display, a larger screen, and faster Refresh Rate which will feel like a worthy upgrade;
But on the other end
You’re getting same resolution which means less PPI and you lose the gloss for matte finish.
If you’re primarily gaming, it’s a nice upgrade, for everything else, it’s a little mixed.
Thanks for the response. Decisions decisions.
@FrankJackson I am in the same situation as u. Coming from a aw3423dwf > aw2725df >aw3225qf > back to aw2725df just because the 32 inch 4k is too big for my desk. I am in Asia and there is no 240hz oled ultrawide..the only one is the Asus pg34wcdm which is out of stock too.
I could go back to the DWF but...its like I am wasting my time changing monitors. So I am waiting for a 240hz ultrawide preferably 34 inch as that is the sweet spot. Not too big for my desk.
I just got to replace the last year 45in LG. It’s way better looking and damn near as clear and crisp as my 4k oled Alienware.
Thanks for sharing 🔥 the 45 is definitely incredible at immersive gaming, but the 3440 x 1440 on a 45 made the PPI worse 😭 so I know you noticed an improvement
Was it the 32:9? I’m stuck between that and the one from the video
Funny thing. Currently trying both this monitor and the alienware aw2725df, and in my eyes, the alienware looks so plain.
theres also a huge difference in size 😅 Which are you leaning more toward to ?
@@FireWolfTech I'm coming from a 27" 14hz TN panel, very simple. The LG 39" looks impressive, and not just the display but the whole thing. Also, i Have a 4080 so i don't think i'll be reaching the 344 FPS that the alienware can offer. Leaning towards the LG for now.
You could reach those but you gotta turn off all graphical settings 😅 depending on the game of course
VRR flickering?
Yes. Oleds suffer from it the worst
you also shouldn't notice any fuzzy or haziness with the matte finish - if its fuzzy thats a PPI and resolution issue. Matte finishes just lower color accuracy, but not reaaaaally noticeable unless you're really looking for it
Compared to a glossier screen, the matte coating in my eyes look a little fuzzy. From a 34-inch QD-OLED to a 34-inch 34GS95QE (which I also reviewed and has the same panel) it has that effect which is noticeable if you were to put a whole screen white. Maybe I'm describing it wrong lol
As quirky as Samsung monitors can be, the PPI is what keeps me going back. LG missed the mark on this one, severely overpriced for a cut down TV panel
2K :(
Had it. PPI was awful. took it back. Nice video
Thanks 🔥
Yeah the PPI is something you would need to experience to see if its a deal breaker 😅
The PPI is far too low... 110 is really the minimum.
Why
matte display is a turn off. why can't they make the screen like their g3's and c3s?
Yup, the matte coating is an automatic no for me. A pity they ruined another otherwise great monitor with it. If they ever bring out a glossy version I'll be first in line, until then I wont even consider it.
