    I don’t see how anyone hits a single clay without using $700 Pilla shooting glasses. And handicapping oneself with “entry level” Beretta 686 or Browning 525 shotguns is simply inexcusable. Sam Green winning world championships with Brownings is just a fluke.

    • @jimcarter4497
      @jimcarter4497 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve watched a lot of his videos and he’s spent more time bragging on Miroku’s and Yildiz than he has expensive guns. And he has dedicated entire videos to affordable equipment. He shoots a Browning himself I believe, and I’ll bet you he’s got some £15 glasses in his shop too.

    You can't go wrong with just clear glasses in my view.

    • @Chris_P_Bacon0788
      @Chris_P_Bacon0788 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can go very wrong with just clear view. The whole point of the filtrations is to enhance the clays.
      I have Deuteranopia (red/green colour blindness), without lenses or with clear lenses, I lose orange or pink clays in grey skies or green back drop. Filtered lenses help me pick up the orange and pink clays I once lost.

    As nice as Pilla, castellani vests etc are, they do nothing for you, the person behind the gear hits targets, but some good middle of road lenses and job done, nothing funnier than seeings someone in Pilla and castellani missing sitters

      Its a mental game. To some its a fashion flex show. I get stared at on ranges. Allen shell box holder, stained cloths, and my 694 with factory chokes. Verus a $14,000 gun, $400 vest, $125/ choke tubes, $800 glasses. But in some minds it makes them better. For me I gotta have a foundation and walls before I install a window.

    Prescription lens inserts and excessive curvature of the frame have proved a problem for me. I’ve been leaning towards the aviator style and having the prescription in the lens itself rather than a separate prescription insert. I think I will forgo having a range of 4/5 colours in favour of one or two lenses that are themselves prescription. Not quite as straightforward as I thought it would be.

      Since needing correction, I had been getting by with OTG safety glasses over my prescription, but the double lenses liked to fog in the summer & winter.
      Got a pair of aviators from Hunter's HD Gold a couple weeks ago and really like them. They are just gold, but the tint varies with lighting. They also have a red which is supposed to make orange really pop, but they won't lighten as much on a cloudy day.
      If I was in the UK the Edwards aviators look pretty interesting.
