The clarity vs regular sunglasses with the protection, especially about smudge is what matters most to me. Comfort is next. Everything else you stated is great reasons to buy over another too. These glasses sound like it's worth the money. Thank you!
Another great review Lloyd !!!!! I use the Outlaw X6 system, and here in the USA, most shooters use some form of Pilla system. Terrific lenses. So many colors available, and so many changes every year in these colors too. I like the idea of "trading lenses" which I'm sure, for a small fee, saves big money on buying a new one. Sure, they are not cheap, but the quality speaks for itself. Good explanation on the progressive lens. Thanks again Lloyd. Your knowledge of these products is uncompromising. Respectfully, Rob G., Missouri
Funny that people wont bat an eyelid at blowing 3k on a gun, but £500 on a pair of glasses that could help you see targets better, well that is absurd. Makes sense to someone.
It’s probably because plastic lenses suck and don’t last. Had two pair of good glass lens glasses in 30 years and they were affordable. Since then I’ve had 7 pair of 500 dollar plastic glasses in 5 years and none have lasted and despite being prescription aren’t as clear as my old glass lenses. Despite being non prescription. Having said all that, don’t take that as a knock on the particular glasses in this video. I know nothing about them. They very well be excellent. It’s just that I’m personally not spending that kind of money without trying them first. Quality shotguns on the other hand will last a lifetime or two 🤷🏽♂️👍🏼
Very good showing here my guys on my shooting team just purchased these and now it's my turn to buy a set every time I watch your show I'm spending more money. But that's okay by me because your here to explain everything T
Very well done again, as a fellow shooter who is colour deficient the difference good glasses makes is huge. Mine (not the brand) are prescription (slight stigmatism) and coloured “vermillion “. As far as the cost, the difference they can make to not only your score but to the enjoyment of your sport shouldn’t be underestimated.
I was unlucky enough to have my Pilla outlaws stolen when my garage was broken into, whilst arguing with insurance company i borrowed some wiley x glasses off a friend/ didn't get on with shape design at all, gave in a bought a cheap pair of beretta glasses to tie me over and to be honest i love them, the shape and design, the colours are crisp and optically i think they are 95% plus of what my Pilla's where it was night and day going from sunglasses to these, Looking forward to shooting with both back to back when new outlaws arrive, Pilla is the best imo, but if i'm honest with myself take away the high tech frame materials and brand name i have shot the same numbers on these berettas and my eyes have never felt strained, no fogging and the lenses are really very impressive. I love my Pillas but i am seriously impressed with these cheap berettas, don't think there is a massive gap its lense shape that gives optical dominance in my eyes pun intended. Hope you are well lloyd
Thanks Lloyd. Another informative review. Great cinematography might be nice to look at, but an honest and independent review from a knowledgeable and experienced person is always worth listening to. I ordered a set of CENS DX after your last review and have been waiting on a review like this. To be fair, I won’t be making any final decision until I’ve seen the guru Ed Lyons, but your review at least gives my that much need incentive to break open the wallet.
Lloyd another great video here I'm in the market for shooting glasses. And I do have trouble as well because of back ground causing the clay to disappear ,the woods give me troubles I need the colors you have I tried the RE Rangers from a friend and helped me bigtime. The pella look better I'm in between don't know which ones to get.
I also suffer from deuteranopia and have recently invested in the RGHL and RGLL as my high and medium light lenses. They’re an absolute game changer for me, particularly on orange clays in front of a green or grey background. I’d highly recommend you give them a try. I’d be really interested in your opinion on them.
@@lloydyp I know what you mean. The X7s fit me better, but I spent hours with Ed working through different lenses and couldn’t find any other that worked for me. If Pilla produce them for X7s in the future then for sure I’ll swap. Happy to lend you mine if you want to review!
If you get the chance, try out the 32MXB lens. It's really great for making the orange clays pop out. I think they work a bit better then the Cherry. But as you say, it's diffrent for everyone.
Finest quality and fantastic shooting glasses there’s no doubt but you can get ones by Bolle or Oakley that do the job, obviously not the same standard, but work, for less sting in the price.
Sorry I missed the live, something came up, but this is exactly the review of Pilla I’ve been waiting for! I really do quite fancy a set of these now! damn it! Haha Also didn’t know Bywell did floodlit shoots on a Wednesday! That’s handy to know!
Lloyd Pattison well, you know what they say about assumptions 😂 sorry Chief! But Spennymoor still isn’t a million miles away from me! Hopefully bump into you sometime soon and have a proper chat in person
Looking forward to this one, I’ve been considering investing, but I’d have to get a prescription insert too, so it’d be quite the investment, so I want to be 100% sure!
Great videos 👌🏻 I am a new subscriber and really enjoying the content! It would be really interesting to see how the Pilla glasses compare to a set of Oakley glasses with the Prizm lenses!!
Muy bueno el informe Lloyd!! yo tengo los Beretta con cuatro lentes, cumplen la misma función, son mucho mas baratos y ayudan igual!!!! Saludos desde Buenos Aires, Argentina.
So i want to get a pair for my son by i only want to buy them once. He got a chance to try the X7's from another shooter at the club and liked them. The issue is i dont want to have to buy the x6 down the road. Are they that much bigger than the X7?
You’d have to be a complete fool to spend $700 on shooting glasses. I’m here to tell you I’m twice the fool. Lol. I was hesitant. A lot of money for glasses. I tried my buddy’s new pair and I was instantly hooked. I literally said, “Holy sh@t, I can see”. They were so amazing, I immediately bought a 3 lens set for $700. I just couldn’t get enough, so I bought another 3 lens set a week later. Don’t think that you see just fine until you try them.
Your brain will adjust to what ever colour you choose , so with time the effect will lessen and you will loose maximum benefit . Take your glasses off between rounds and just wear ordinary glasses or no glasses to prevent the loss of effect .
I disagree here Dunc, I think you are overthinking this. Yes your brain gets used to the effect but it doesn't lessen the effect. You just get used to being able to perceive clays . You notice for sure when you take them off as the world returns to it's normal colour saturation , but I think constantly taking them off between stands is a waste of time.
Think of it like this; I don't take off my prescription glasses every so often because my brain has gotten used to wearing them, colour correcting your vision is no different.
You are correct Lloyd I am an optometrist , I often have people tell me if they don't wear their glasses for a while their vision improves - it doesn't they just get used to seeing
