    From insane workload, like 15 hours basketball and 5 hours gym, to literally 0 doing nothing else than sitting in my chair and having online class during quarantine.
    Before I had jumpersknee, some days even so hard, that I had to stop playing, but since I have done nothing for 4 months now I have 0 pain left but man I am scared about ramping up volume too soon once I can get started. So in conclusion I just want to say thank you because you pretty much save me with your knowledge from giving too much too soon and hurting my knee again lol

      PJF uses evidence based practice. KOT is just a super athletic dude that teaches people how to stretch, knowing that range of motion is a limiting factor for a lot of people. Dude doesn't have a background in sport science (anatomy, exercise physiology, pathology, nutrition, physical therapy, biomechanics, biochemistry) which is why he tends to "shy" away from certain topics and will often ignore research.

    Truth in the bouncing back hard after a break part. I go crazy if I can’t be active, so it was a real journey of patience to limit myself from powerful movements and adapt. It’s crucial to explore the pain tolerances and triggers more thoroughly when you ramp up because you learn your safety zones. Pain is always there tho

    This is an excellent case study.
    Also, a key factor that may increase risk is the running preference of the athlete.
    Aerial (ball of foot contact) vs terrestrial (mid/rear foot contact) cf the work of Gindre et al.
    Our approach to health has been wrong all along for years in Western Europe.
    Health is not removing external stress. Health is having the capacity to adapt to stress. The principe of hormesis.

      @@R_Baca04 all his stuff is evidence based lol he is the evidence and all the people he trains are the evidence and he trains professional athletes you do realise it doesn’t have to be some study carried out by scientists half of those people encourage complete bs when if you have any knowledge of training you can clearly see kot guys training is very legit and him and pjf will agree on most things

    • @R_Baca04
      @R_Baca04 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@sk-sn4vh 1. You said he is the evidence. You can’t generalize one person’s results to every one else. That is not how evidence based approaches work, and in general, how science works.
      2. What professional athletes does he actually train? If he does train any, are any actually significantly elite athletes? (He doesn’t really show which athletes he trains he just tells the viewer he does)
      3. I am a CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) with a BS in EMS. I can judge by what he shows in his videos that his stuff will not get you to elite level athletic ability. Might get your knees feeling better (maybe), but won’t really do anything for you as far as increasing athletic ability unless you’re new to lifting.
      4. What BS has been portrayed in any scientific studies focusing on athletic performance/rehabilitation?

    I got it a week ago on both knees from trying to do too much to lose weight. Took a dancing class and I think that did. I rested from exercising, rested my knees by elevating my legs while lying on the sofa and bed. Started to do leg raises while in these positions to strengthen the back of my knees and legs. This helped and I have no more pain. Rest, elevate, do some leg raises to build muscle behind your legs. Started walking with shorter strides and so far so good. I also forgot to mention that I wasn't stretching before the injury. I make sure to stretch now. A family member uses a roller behind their knees on the floor and it helps them. I believe rolling the hamstrings helps the knee too. Just take it easy and rest. Build back up slowly and try to build muscle.

      @swastikyadav3127 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes

    • @jostjuice
      @jostjuice 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      NO. It’s a patellar ligament issue overload issue in 2 cases. The ‘os’ is pain referred to pain at the insertion of the patellar ligament at the tibia, the ‘jumper’s knee’ is originally referred to pain ABOVE the knee cap - quad tendon overuse/overload. But the name ‘jumper’s knee’ nowdays is usually understood as pain UNDER the patella, at the origin of the patellar ligament.
      Hope this clarifies some things.

    Why are people so against the whole gelatin thing? They say that the body just turns it into amino acids, that it’s impossible to replicate it so that the body will take it in and make it into actual cartilage
