- Is Battlesector 40k worth it? This turn based strategy game looks gorgeous, and brings a decent main campaign with surprisingly impressive voice acting. It may not stray far from a basic turn based formula, but it will be a serious consideration for fans of the Warhammer 40k universe, especially the Blood Angel Space Marines and Tyranids.

Fair review. The game has its shortcomings but somehow I regularly find myself coming back to it, specially to replay the main campaign, which is very fun.
@dte1096 thank you, I'm glad you think so. What do you think of the daemonic incursion and planetary supremacy modes? They're pretty cool but not fleshed out enough for me personally...
@@twiglets2 I agree with you on that. I played daemonic incursion once or twice but I didn't quite like it. Planetary supremacy I found to be more engaging, and is a good way to play against the new factions that the developers have introduced (like orks and Tau) if you are not willing to buy their DLC. But yes, those two modes feel more as a way to spend some time while we wait for the new upcoming campaign(s) that were recently announced, instead of full-fleshed experiences.

@jacobrigg5095 Thank you! I was glad to hear them confirm more campaigns as I was a bit disappointed the dlc's don't currently include more campaign content.

Great video! Does the Blood Angels army here feature the death company or sanguinary guard? The BA are my favourite chapter though given the recent content announcement, I might wait until after those have been implemented before buying. Just picked up Chaos Gate and been really enjoying that.

So is it like dawn of war or is there some different mechanics or something like that??
@omarsamir1461 dawn of war is real time, building a base and an economy. Battlesector is turnbased so no eco or base, just deploying your army and taking turns with your opponent like chess. Similar vibes though!

@LorenTR Thank you! The AI is adequate. Bearing in mind I have yet to see ai that I would say is genuinely good.

I was thinking of waiting for it to be bundled with DLC but... if the DLC only effects those skirmish campaigns, and I don't know if I'll dig it (Dawn of War's sandbox campaign had multiple scripted and memorable missions in it, in contrast), why bother with the DLC I guess? I think I'll get it for $12usd with the Humble Choice.
@R3GARnator honestly that seems as wise move to me. The DLCs are kind cool but the main campaign is where 90% of the value is, it's alright!

@@twiglets2 I would recommend. If you like turn based combat and Warhammer its really good. I own all DLC's and you can mix match multiple match ups (like in Civ). Sometimes i just wish the maps would be even bigger haha

@gunhojput thank you for your honesty! Did you try the daemonic and planetary supremacy modes? I didn't spend much time with them so curious how much longevity they have
@@twiglets2 No i became disillusioned with the whole thing, it now sits in my libery hidden from view imo so much promise wasted. sorry i cannot give a more helpful comment, and its a shame one cannot fully playtest these games before purchase hence why videos like yours are so helpful, saying that many videos show the pros and cons but you dont get the true game till you purchase, yes you can play a demo but these are slanted heavily in favor of the game, then when you realise you dont like it its too late because you already wasted 30 odd squid, i think its called marketing and we fall for it all the time. love to all.
