Pretty much the campaigns for DoW2 and its expansions are my favourite thing about it. The voice acting, the characters, the 40k setting, lore and the good old 40k clusterfuck of battles with many of the races is superb. Only negatives is that the base DoW2 campaign does drag on and get repetitive but that was remedied with Chaos Rising which isnmy favourite of the bunch.
Yeah i love it, i have 100 hours just replaying the retribution campaign, haven't even touched the base game or chaos rising, i just love playing as the Imperial guard, orks and csm over and over.
I've been looking over the years but haven't found any mods that change up the campaign, such as adding new factions or units or somesuch. A few mods in dawn of war dark crusade and soulstorm would affect the campaign as well, but are there any such mods for dawn of war 2?
I hope they add the Tyranids, Chaos and Orks in the near future, the mod looks awesome. Hopefully if they get enough support they could even add the T'au, I know they have models scattered throughout the modding community and they are my favourite faction.

dow 2 was good, but i honestly didnt like the whole "playing league" in my 40k RTS vibe Codex edition looks exactly like the mod that will make me reinstall

Was just playing some DoW 1 unification mod since DoW 1 style is my favourite even though I always liked DoW2s style since i really enjoyed CoH. Never tried mods for it but might try this one out. Honestly this is pretty much what DoW3 should have been like from the looks of it
@@PonchaYT Indeed this mod really blends both styles really well in the DoW2 engine. The tactical micro intensive aspects and mechanics of 2 with the close to large unit sizes and armies with the base building of 1. Its almost perfect I very much like to see how they will implement the other races in the future.
I always viewed the split between DoW 1 and 2 to be similar to Alien/Aliens. Most enjoy both, but there's no shame in having a preference to any of them. Do any of these mods work in single player though?

DoW 2 is your favorite for a reason, it is the best by far from the DoW franchise, I dear to say that it is the best Warhammer game out there due to variety and replayability. Too bad that DoW 3 Sucks ass, DoW 1 is really good but DoW 2 is just a general upgrade.

This mod is really cool it reminds me of Company of heroes 2 Wikinger mod that takes the thing more realistic and expanded on the ww2 scenario with divisons like here in the eternal mod if i have to money i'll buy dawn of war 2 just to play this mod. I was always more intro Coh them Dawn of war maybe becuase im more intro ww2.
Happy to see older games being kept alive with mods. I am curious to see what is coming in the mods future especially Chaos considering their additions over the years. My guess would be mainline CSM focus, cult focus, and daemon/daemon engine focus. I am also curious to see if the Voidscarred Kill Team will be an influence in future updates to the Path of the Outcast Regarding Primaris I know they are not everyone’s cup of tea but I think the Phobos and Omnis ones would add a lot to the Reserve Company faction. I also think replacing the Vanguard with a Deathwatch equivalent would fit better.
I was actually going to when I saw dreadnought and terminator gameplay but I noticed it wasn’t ready. If space marine 2 gets delayed I will cover it for a video probably.
@@PonchaYT Dreadnought gameplay was available at one point, I've only just reinstalled the game myself so I'm not sure if it's still there in the most recent update.
Dawn of War 2 was amazing, to bad retribution was garbage, recycled trash. It's amazing how the last xpacs of both DOW1 and DOW2 were the worst ones but also, the best ones thanks to the mods.

Not the same genres.
Dow1 is a strategy real time game, whereas dow2 is a tactical.
Both have pros and cons.

The AI voices are very disappointing, both in their usage and their quality in general.
Ork voices are probably not the best for it.

You should check out the Space Marine Augmented mod. It restores multiplayer to Space Marine 1, and adds a bunch of customization options.
