    Good job Nick,
Had some of the same issues you noted, but at the end of the day, All Is Well!
The thing with fine or course threads, I was told that only Lincolns and T-Birds utilized the fine threads, a sign of class........

Hi Tom, thanks for the compliment. I used a fine thread bolt at the header pipe because, at the time, it was all I could get at that length. Originally they all had coarse threads. The reason why I had to use a longer bolt was because of the thick cast flange that comes with the new exhausts. Originally they had a thin stamped steel flange. I try to stay stock but sometimes you just cant. Take care, Nick

The '64 exhaust system I ordered from Waldron's needed a lot of "massaging" by the muffler shop to fit properly. To Waldron's credit when I called and expressed my concerns to them they refunded my credit card to the tune of one hours' shop labor charge.

Well any refund is better than no refund. Exhaust systems are a pain, they never fit right.

The way they display these things online it looks like a walk in the park

Looks are deceiving. Ultimately they fit but not very well. I've always had issue with them but, yes, ultimately they do go in the car. I guess my biggest problem with the company that makes them is their refusal to even discuss what they are doing wrong. Oh well. It just lays a bunch of crap on the consumer.

    Nick,
Thanks, my friend. This was a good info vid. I've been debating whether to do the pipe/muffler installation myself or have it done by a local trusted muffler shop. You've convinced me to just get off the wallet and let the shop do it. For me to do otherwise would for sure result in a botched job.
Btw...have you any plans for future vids you'd like to divulge? 😉
    Regards,
    John

Hey John, thanks for the reply. I'm currently working on a window switch video and a video on misc stuff in the engine compartment but since I'm lazy and disorganized, I have not yet put them out. I need to film more stuff for the window switch video anyway. Ill get around to it some day. I'm trying to get this Thelma and Louise car done so I have to focus on that for now. I had another problem with the exhaust system since I made the video. Once I put the car down on the ground, I found the right rear tire hitting the pipe just forward of the muffler. So we had to take that off and make 2 modifications to the pipe to get it to clear the tire. What a piece of crap this exhaust system is. Craig and I spent a considerable amount of time dicking around with this thing and I'm not charging the customer for the extra time. Its not their fault this exhaust manufacturer has his head where the sun don't shine. Anyway, its all good now. I think most people are really better going to a reputable muffler shop and having them custom make a system on the car. I just had a customer do that and it turned out great. Thanks, Nick

It's hard to watch being that you filmed it this way. Please flip the phone next time 😁.

Hi, thanks for the reply. My daughter told me the same thing but Ive been doing it this way so I can put text on the sides. Ive watched other videos where they have the text over the video and either you cant make it out or it covers what it is they are filming. But your probably right, the other way is clearer and easier to follow. Ill take that into consideration. Thanks for watching. Nick

Someone must have been learning to use the bender ...bends or not in correct spots and about 38 to many bends .just saying

Bad job for an exhaust company... I guess it don't need this much bends.

I've always had problems with these guys, poorly made if you ask me. However, I'm a perfectionist so that probably plays into it some.
