Hi, enjoy your videos of your 66 Thunderbird. My first new car was a 1966 Thunderbird Town Coupe bought when I rotated back from Japan in 1965. I was 26. Probably sure tuned the carburetor and that will fix your high ilde and running rich. Need a rpm gauge and vacuum gauge kit though to do it. Makes a big difference.
@@thedadlife1080 I just replaced the fuel lines from the tank to the pump and from the pump to the carburetor from the stock 5/16" to 3/8". Also install a inline fuel filter just coming out of the fuel tank and another one in between the pump and carb. Clean free flowing gas for the big block. Who knows what's in the bottom of my tank.haha
Hello. I enjoyed the ride in your T-Bird. I noticed that your gauge needles do not look straight. I am restoring my 66 Landau that I have owned since 1978. I hope to have it on the road before we no longer can purchase gas! lol. I also own a 65/66 Mercury Colony Park station wagon in the same colors as your T-Bird. Nice color combination. Hi George, These gauges are always a little funny, I wonder how well they worked from the factory. At some point I may have to have them rebuilt. Good luck on the restoration!
Just bought a 66 medium blue over ivory white top.. a hardtop. Can’t wait to drive it. Mine has all the options as well except for the cruise control and reclining passenger seat. 390 engine ac. I might make upgrade it to a 428 since the engine isn’t original. I will definitely swap the c4 trans for a 4 speed AOD tranny from monsters transmissions. I wanna cruise 80 @ 2200 rpm’s.

Thanks for watching! Sun City Anthem is on the other side of the Valley from me. On the ‘66 the sequential blinkers do use the electric motor in the trunk. It was rebuilt by the previous owner and works flawlessly!

School in the 90’s. I loved that car. This body style is my favorite Thunderbird.

It has been all tested and is working great!! These old Tbirds are tough girls!!
