I don't know if they changed the glass now but I recently bought the 1/4 and it's amazing 🤩 no loss of detail, softens things up nicely for a dream state, and the bloom is not overwhelming 90% of the time (shooting subjects with light directly behind them is a no go for me, too much bloom)

I started using mist filters 2 weeks ago. Man, ive been SLEEPING on these things! Some people think 1/4 is too much? But i went with a K&F which apparently arent AS powerful as the other brands? But i use a 1/4 K&F and it just looks soooooooo amazing. I wont even should without it honestly.
I got it too and so far it's producing awesome images! Also great value and perfect for someone on a tighter budget that still want some of that diffusion goodness
One thing to note about the Tiffen filters is that there is actually just a "pro mist" filter that does more of what the Cinebloom does and my dumb ass actually picked it up because I assumed I was getting the "black pro mist" not knowing they made 2 different styles with very similar names. So anyone looking to get one make sure to read closely into what you're getting.

Bro, your videos are amazing. So glad I found your channel. Keep going and you'll do great on YT, the personality will make you stand out, love the way you present things. Now to filters, I bought the K&F Concept Black Diffusion 1/4 at 67mm but I haven't had a chance to use it yet. Shall I return it? LOL.
Personally I think your money would be better suited anywhere else and you'll be happier with the image even if a comparable filter is a bit more expensive. I appreciate the kind words though thanks a bunch man good luck on that filter!
great video, took me a while to choose.
I might go for K&F Black Diffusion 1/8 since (apparently) it's one of the more subtle filter around (subtler than tiffen) while being cheap, keeping some contrast but still give halation on light sources. From what I've seen in these comparisons, the 1/4 and above seems too strong and lowers image quality too much like what you had.
I own the following 77mm diffusion filters that I use when shooting portraits with an 85mm lens on my small format cameras or with a 180mm lens on my medium format cameras:
1.Hoya Duto soft focus
2.Tiffen Black Pro Mist #1 soft focus
3.Tiffen Black Pro Mist #3 soft focus
4.Hoya #B Diffuser
5.Cokin type soft diffuser
The Hoya Duto and the Tiffen #1 diffuse the least.
Hoya #B and Cokin diffuse the most.
The Tiffen #3 is in the middle.
Great delivery. Non-biased and straightforward, minus the irrelevant unboxing & stand-up comic tidbits that is becoming too common.
Filters pref. Tiffen BPM 1/8, Schneider BM.
I appreciate it. The box part was literally to show you the cases they come with so you know what you'll be carrying them in unless you have a filter case

I just bought the K&F 77mm Black Mist 1/4 and ND2-ND32 (1-5 Stop) Variable ND Lens Filter . After watching your video, I regret it already :( ..It did get some nice reviews but maybe they were sponosored reviews. Thanks for the great video :)
Tbh man we're talking about very minor differences. I just have to be very specific because these things are so similar. You may be happy with it at the end of the day so give it a chance and see what's up with it. Amazon is great for this because their return policy is so solid. I hope this video helped. "same case no matter what you buy from them". im sorry, but thats genius. walk through that for a second: you are changing a filter at a wedding and you have a pile of different filter cases. you now need to hunt through your bag for the exact right filter case, rather than just grabbing any one of them and using it?
do they sell those cases without the filters?

Don't bother with K&N unless you want an incredibly noticeable "effect" - they're cheap but intensively strong filters. IMO the Tiffen and/or the Cinebloom are far superior for the money.

Yet that is not the case with the K&N Black Mist filters as comparison tests photographing the same subjects in the same lighting conditions shows them to be weaker than Tiffen and NOT stronger.
Just bought the k&n black mist filters recently.
Directly from their homepage, very customer friendly, fast delivery (overseas shipment).
If you combine focal length and strength of the filter correctly, they work absolutely good enough, at least to get started.
The cases where they come in are cheap but the filters are good quality for the price.
Yet, you really have to use the correct filter strength for the correct focal length.
@@headintheclouds999 and that is the part a lot of people forget is you need to use different strengths depending on the focal length of lens being used. You need at least two different strengths and layer when needed to give you a third option. The cases are a bit bulky but unlike B&W and Urth cases they do actually keep the filter in place inside the case. Plus they have grips on the outside which is hardly in cold weather. Optically they are at least as good as Tiffen. Comparison tests I have done on a 46 megapixel sensor with and without the filter don't show the filter downgrading the image when the filter is having no effect. The fine detail is still there. Tiffen do appear to have some quality control issues at times. One comparison test I saw by a DOP which was done with a tripod under controlled lighting conditions showed the Tiffen 1/8 to be stronger than 1/4. It was not determined which filter was at fault.
You just wasted five minutes of my life... Correct, I didn't stay through the end. Lighten up. I couldn't take all the nit picky negativity. It's your world here. Obviously, your channel is not for me. O oh well...
