    Finally a fuji user who are using this filter! Some other brand cameras shows that the 1/4 is way too strong but in Fuji it’s look in between 1/4 and 1/8 .

      As I know the filter strength shows different effects on different focal lengths so the 1/8 is better for higher zoom and the 1/4 or 1/2 for wide angle. Correct me if I'm wrong 😅

    Most helpful video out there! Now I am confident to go for the 1/4 instead of 1/8 on my x100v. Thanks a lot and keep up the great work! 💪🏻

    I'm researching and trying to recreate the look of the 1995 movie Fallen Angels and I'm pretty sure they used some kind of diffusion filters in combination with an extreme wide angle lens. The whole movie is shot during night and is one of the most beautiful looking movies ever. I ordered a 1/4 black mist filter. Let's see what happens.

      same. I actually been using chatgpt to give me recommendations. It told me about how the glimmerglass 5 was ethereal and stuff. But I can't find any examples of anyone actually having it so like bruh.

      The lens they used on "Fallen Angels" was an extreme wide-angle lens that had its own unique "glow" to it, so no filters were needed. Specifically, it was a CENTURY Tégéa 9.8 mm with a Wide Angle Attachment which gives it an additional 6.8 mm. So they used the 9.8 as their "Standard" lens (a rehoused Kinoptik 9.8 lens which is the same lens used in Stanley Kubrick's " A Clockwork Orange" and "The Shining") and then the 6.8 attachment for the wider shots.

    Hi Henry. Thanks for this post. Your affiliate link to this product points to Amazon where it's indicated in the comments that some received what appears to be USED ITEMS BUT DESCRIBED AS NEW with lite to deep scratches on some. If you ordered there, to your observation, is your copy brand new? Hope to get your response soon as I'm contemplating on ordering before my shipment leaves for my country of residence. Thank you.

    what about the tiffen 812 filter? does that do anything?
    if i don't necessarily want any hazy look, and i just take family shots and document things, do i even need a filter?
    thanks

    Question: If I set the clarity setting to -3/-4 is it not equal to a 1/4 BPM filter?

    • @harrywheelwright4883
      @harrywheelwright4883 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Definitely a similar look but the x100 series has to process shots individually which slows down shooting and completely rules out any kind of bursts, even slow ones!

    My cheap trick (i own a X100 original - limited black edition) otherwise
    1) Buy the TTArtisans black mist 1/8 filter - it's cheap, for your matching prime or zoom lens
    2) Use a DSLR from the early days, i don't name brands and models, because otherwise the prices might rise a lot
    3) The image or RAW file would being more film-esque then ever before, but with subtle strenght & effect
    4) enjoy !
