Jubilee I consider myself a Christian, but I think that earth would be a little better off without religion because I think of icis without religion most likely nobody would follow it but then I think that being religious can be really good
@Ana 75 what they meant is that people should follow a religion because they believe in it, and have made the choice to practise it, not be forced into it
I'm an atheist in the south, when someone tells me "have a blessed day" I take it as have the best day you can. I think respecting the small godly phrases that sometimes come along in daily life should be seen as love. I don't believe in their God, but I see love in people who say they'll pray for me or wish me blessings. It's everyone's choice whether to believe or not. I don't, but I respect those who do.
Antoine só why do atheists attack theist and mock them by saying magic daddy in the sky or what not. It’s clear that atheists are against God no question about about.
Jamie Louis that’s because they’re uneducated and don’t know what they’re saying or talking about... that’s what I said. If you’re against God and beliefs other than yours you’re just an asshole, not an atheist, and that’s it
As an atheist, I neither like people who force religion upon others, nor do I like people who force atheism upon others. Everyone should have the freedom to follow their own beliefs.
You can't really force atheism down someone's throats....I mean unless you are telling someone "you are not going to believe in your God(s), or crystals, or astrology, etc"
on the contrary, i think it’s a much scarier thought to exist forever. sure, it sounds nice at first, but none of us know what forever feels like. it’s like the feeling of “once you get on an airplane, there’s no getting off until you land” except you never land. i do believe there’s a god, but i would honestly prefer the option to just stop existing at some point in the future.
The fear of dying vs the fear of death. the latter is the fear of the death of the ego at least that’s what Sigmund Fraud used to think.the fear of dying is completely natural and necessary as all animals are programmed to have a sense of self preservation.
As an agnostic myself, I totally agree with the conclusion: Believe in whatever God you want as long as you don't harm anyone or impose your belief system onto others. If you're not infringing upon anyone's way of life, it's fine.
That sounds great in theory. But how likely is it in reality that someone with irrational beliefs will not harm anyone or impose their belief system on others (either intentionally or unintentionally)?
Rishabh Kumar in God there is true peace and although it is very hard to see for you, once people seek God we see that God gives us true comfort and answers prayers and is always there for us even though we don’t see it. May God be with you ;)
Science is also showing how important it is..... much on a similar wavelength with meditation. Calming the mind and body and ultimately connecting with oneself, I think. I agree with your sentiment.
Timothy Wyland, 44, and Rebecca Wyland, 23, of Oregon City were found guilty of criminal mistreatment for allowing their 18-month-old daughter’s hemangioma, an abnormal proliferation of blood vessels, to grow into a golf ball-sized tumour that covered one eye. They were sentenced to three months in jail on June 24. Rather than seek medical care for their daughter, the Wylands, members of the Followers of Christ Church, relied on prayer, oil anointment and the “laying on of hands.”
I don’t mind when people pray to themselves if it gives them comfort, but it annoys me when people say I’ll pray for you. It does nothing and honestly comes off as a polite way of saying I don’t really care and can’t be bothered to help in any real way.
Tyler Christian really? I haven’t understood that feeling. It’s just like imagining what it was like before you were born. Just done doing your thing. Makes me enjoy the time I have alot more.
@@N64RumblePak but it's a huge fear of most people (Including me) because non-existence is one of the things, human can't even imagine. I'm sure you think of darkness and silence when you thnk of nothing. but that's still something. being nothing is so scary
I don't know why people are scared of not existing. We has existed for a very long time pre death and I will continue to exist after death the only fear should be dying.
We are just very used to the concept of consciousness. Our entire life and our entire understanding of the world around us IS consciousness. Leaving that would be terrifying.
@Default User Maybe they would’ve said the same thing. It’s really not about being respectful or not, I’m sure they are respectful as well. It’s just that with the age gap, they (the older individuals) might have experienced more things that would’ve brought a different conversation, a different perspective of atheism to the table which would’ve been interesting to hear as well.
As a Christian, I feel this a lot. I left my faith for while because of it. but now I have learned that I worship God, not Christians, and Christ is so different than people. I wish the Christian community could come together and love unconditionally, just like the God we serve.
@@kannan-sar1758 The book ‘The Christ of the Indian Road’ by E. Stanley Jones references Ghandi saying this line (albeit the wording may not be exact) in response to the missionary asking him why he rejects becoming a follower of Christianity. There are other sources though and it isn’t entirely sure exactly where the quote comes from, but Gandhi has made statements with a similar sentiment numerous times.
I like this comment cause I feel as If some Christians are actually judgmental and try to scare people into Christianity I’m not gonna lie that true but trust me not all of us Christians are like that I feel as if us Christians shouldn’t be in the way and stop you from having a good relationship with God/Jehova
Christopher Karow true but they also disagreed in certain areas and at various levels. overall, i think whether it be a similar viewpoint or one that differs, we should all learn to be open and allow everyone to be heard in a polite manner. just as they have in this video (:
Yeah, the "do all christians think the same" was kinda chaotic and they were kinda rude to each other. This, though, i love. They're all being nice and respectful.
Ikr its really sad they experienced it whatever it was. I myself am religious and always had positive experiences, really helped me become a more independent thinker. But i know of people who have been hurt by it, sad they had to experience it

Jamie Smith It was nice, but I was hoping for at least some head butting about opinions on morality or something. Although it was good. It seemed kinda salt and pepper to me. Just a little boring.
Right?? Every Jubilee episode, someone is always demonized, and they could just say one thing that is slightly unpopular. Good to see a clean comment section for once. The person I liked the most in this episode was Ryann, I agree with her on everything Edit: Nevermind^^🙄
maybe its because they are atheist and more respectful because there is no correct version of an atheist, whereas there are "correct/better Christians" which causes more controversy
I wish there would have been some older people in this group too. My dad's an atheist and I think a person around his age would have been cool to see and hear from.
I know we're a rare breed, but I wish they had someone who grew up in an agnostic family. The atheists they had on seem more obsessed with fighting their former selves than with engaging the concept of theism. There is nothing wrong with their path in life, just with everyone on the same path the video ends up a little monotone.
@@exoticcats6119 Same, both my parents are non-religious, so I never had to leave a religion. We also never felt like outsiders, since about half the country doesn't believe (and most that do are very casual about it).
I am 58 and grew up in a religious home. I gave up believing in god when I gave up believing in Santa Claus. I was a little boy and my father was drunk on Christmas Eve, I heard him telling my mother to bring out the gifts so 'HE' could put them under the tree....I peeked and sure enough, he was doing it. It was then I had a revelation, and the next day I asked my mother if there was an Easter Bunny, and a Tooth Fairy and finally 'God'. She admitted that there was no Santa or the Fairy or the rabbit....but insisted there was 'God'. I never believed her. I became interested in religions then, but did not believe in any of them. I am very happy to be atheist, and would not have it any other way. I am not at all afraid of death or dying. This was a very thought provoking show.
I quickly read the title and thought it was athletes. I was wondering why are they asking so many questions about religion to athletes? Reread the title and laughed and laughed
Ok God loves you but we are all sinners and basically they were trying to say if u don’t give ur life to Jesus u will got hell not bv u didn’t give it life to Jesus but bc of your sins such as -lying ,stealing and saying omg -but the price was payed so if u confess and belive that Jesus is Lord I will go to heaven God doesn’t want to send u to hell its bc of your own actions
Sarah Lea if im a good person other than a few “sins” and if god loves me no matter what, wouldnt he forgive me because he knows i’m a good person? christianity is so backwards, i will never understand it. it’s like it doesn’t even matter all the good things i’ve done in life because i sinned and may not have even known it.
@@talyac1990 yeah I don't get it either. If I start an ant village or something and the ants aren't worshipping me I'm not going to pour boiling water on them. If you're a human why would a God send you to hell for simply not worshipping him. Why would I even need to worship him?
Sarah Lea I’m sorry I’m Christian but the though of “ur not a good person” going through life everyday saying “I’m a bad person, I’m a bad person” is a horrible way to live I don’t want god to say it’s ok to be a bad person I forgive you I want him to say your good I’m proud of you, you did good in life
as a Christian i enjoyed hearing their views - I personally feel as Christians we should be open to everything - including peoples beliefs and views on life itself. We should NEVER use God or our religion as a way to harm someone! Or cherry-pick the Bible for our own liking. God loves all :)

How can you not believe in god without knowing god doesn’t exist ? I feel that you can be spiritual and agnostic because you are opened and acknowledge your ignorance but if you are an atheist you do not acknowledge that you don’t know... like AChristian will say I know god exist I believe in him an atheist says I know god does not exist I do not believe in him. Unless there are atheists saying I know god exist I do not believe in him....or I know god doesn’t exist I believe in him, in both case, It’d be weird . Anyway the way I see it agnostic is the acknowledgment of ignorance but atheism is the non belief. And to not believe you have to know it's not true...
@@miurtouissi1093 it is more like how can you believe in god without knowing god exists? The truth is we don't know. Who is god or rather what is god? God is an idea you either believe in it or not or you may even believe in a different version of the same idea.
@@aradhanadang This is your point of view though. talk to anyone in a church and they will swear god exists because it is part of their faith. they do not have proof that is true but they still stongly believe in him, so i disagree with you wth the 'without knowing god exists' because if you are muslim our christian you know he exists. (from their perspective)
Lyra Weeks - Thats the problem with atheism. There’s no standard for why hurting someone is wrong. It’s a presupposition with no justification, hence why atheism is incoherent nonsense.
Triad atheism is not “incoherent nonsense” some ppl just don’t choose to believe in any type of god or higher power. Most of us are respectful or what others believe and obviously most of us don’t want anyone getting hurt. That’s the bottom line. You don’t have to disrespect anyone
Lyra Weeks - Why? Believing in God or not has everything to do with how we experience the world and justify our presuppositions, which atheists cannot do. Theoretically, why should I care about not hurting people, and why is it wrong? If we are all just ape like creatures and will be gone in an instant, why care at all about you or anyone else? Now, as a theist, Orthodox Christian, I do believe doing good is a beautiful thing because Christ is the ultimate good. However, as an atheist, how does one justify the presupposition of morality?
“I’m scared of becoming nothing.” As an atheist, that's quite relatable. If I knew there was a God I would definitely follow him, but logically I just can't seem to believe him.
Sorry it's been hard to find a response that's in my heart, but I believe that is the best type of athiest to be. To HOPE to be wrong about there being no God, even if you/we/they don't see many reasons to believe- is a much better place to be.❤️ That way, athiesm isn't a religion, it's a description of a journey whether that journey ends in being proved wrong or right. Same with all belief systems. I hope it's a journey, not a destination.
@@aubrey3238 Atheism technically cannot be wrong... the atheist position is: "I see no reason to believe you without evidence".... atheists (well, rather, scientists) never rule anything out... but they also don't accept anything without proof.

How plants go through photosynthesis? A “Big Bang” didn’t make all that haha lol! I’m personally Christian, but even scientists can’t deny that the Bible is scientific. It was written before the Corona virus and wildfires in Australia ever happened, but it talks about both events in the Bible. It talks about how dinosaurs would be roaming the Earth and how God would make room for his people. None if it is a mistake, but I definitely respect and understand your opinion too! Lots of love🤍

The idea of becoming “nothing” was something I struggled greatly with when I first transitioned out of religion. Now, 10 years later, I’ve really grown to find comfort in that thought. I see it now as simply a return to the fabric I came from; an everlasting peace, free from the burden of consciousness and self-awareness.

As a Hindu, I've always been taught that a person who questions God and the existence of a greater being should be respected more than a person who blindly believes what he has been told. I enjoyed the prompts and the diversity of answers they had within the group.
I grew up Hindu and enjoyed learning about the mythology but it wasn’t long until I felt that my parents were just shoving it down my throat. Not being able to choose for myself if I wanted to do this was a huge turn off for me, and it made me realize that I loved learning about the culture but it almost felt wrong for me to actively take part in it. I never really identified with the Indian community as I was always surrounded by so many other cultures, and after years of being disconnected with it, I was finally able declare that I’m an atheist.
As a hindu we had pujas during festivals and my mom prays and does fasting every week or whatever it is, but I questioned a lot as well and my parents never enforced their beliefs. A lot of Hinduism is spiritual and very much derived from learnings of life. We still celebrate with our Muslim and Christian or parsi friends and it is great that in that way we are quite open minded
I wish I _could_ believe in a higher power, but when religious extremism almost cost me my life throughout high school and my 4 years in the Navy, I just _can't._ If my future, nonexistent kids were to be religious, I don't know if I'd be upset, but I'd definitely ask why because it would dredge up those old memories, etc. _Ultimately,_ as long as their beliefs did not harm themselves, or others, why would I disown them or leave them for dead by forcing them out on the street?
I absolutely don’t. How much less interesting the universe and our lives would be if we could bring everything back to God.. we would have the easy answer for everything how boring would that be. Then the concept of eternal life after death is so much scarier than nothing who the heck wishes to live forever.. literally for billions and trilions and quintilions of years.. no thanks

@@Charlie-ql1dg Well, Islam, Christianity, and Judaism are all pretty much the same, and most other people believe in multiple gods for different things. (Hinduism). So I would say there is either A. No God/s whatsoever B. Their is a God but only one. C. Their are many gods each with their own element/specialty.
I don't believe in a god (therefore I'm an atheist), but I do believe in a sort of reincarnation on an atomical level. If our atoms aren't the same all our life, it means some part of you is in the nature, and atoms from outside yourself are part of you. When you die, your atoms will be part or life itself, but you as an entity won't. And, since this has been happening since the Big Bang, there's atoms in you that might had been part of dinosaurs, comets or machines.
1. I am open to some supernatural and spiritual ideas. Tl;dr: strongly disagree This is a broad question, IMO, because of how "open" can be interpreted. Does being open mean that I'm not completely denying the possibility of supernatural or spiritual ideas? Does it mean that I'm open-minded about these things, and could perhaps be on the verge of believing them? Anyway, my thoughts are: I can't prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that supernatural or spiritual things/entities don't exist. However, I have no reason to believe in them without proof. In terms of religion(s), the bible--or other holy books--are not adequate proof of their truth value. Rather, they're proof that those books exist. I need something outside of that. Commentary on the cast: Evan: he gets it Kameron: He's right, we don't know. Michelle: If she's open to Wiccanism/Paganism in order to "see what happens," can she truly be considered an atheist? Wouldn't the implication be that if it's possible for something to happen, a god of some sort must exist? Ryann: I'm not sure how it's possible to be both atheist and spiritual. By definition, "spiritual" refers to a person's soul--or spirit. I think that things we don't understand can certainly be enigmatic, but an atheist can't be spiritual and an atheist. 2. Praying is a waste of time. For me, this is very true. I don't believe that prayer has any effect on my life, positive or negative--because I'm praying to an entity that doesn't exist. I would equally benefit from praying to a cinder block. In the time that it takes to pray, I could do something that advances my knowledge--such as reading an article on climate change. Tl;dr: strongly agree Commentary on the cast: Evan: Ok, so he's talking about what prayer means to other people--presumably religious persons. Let's assume that a hypothetical person is both religious, and comforted by prayer. In that case, praying isn't a waste of time--for that person, in the sense that it helps comfort them. You could argue the other side of things and say that it's a waste of time because they could be doing something that actually benefits them, but let's call it good at it helping them feel better. Ryann: Similar to the above. If it helps a religious person feel a degree of comfort, it may not be a waste of time. 3. I grew up religious. Tl;dr: strongly agree I was raised as a Baptist Christian. When I was 19, I joined the US Air Force. During boot camp, I brought the bible along with me--it's one of the few things you can bring and actually keep with you. I decided to read it from front to back. Spoiler alert: I never accomplished that. I noticed some contradictions even in the first pages of Genesis, such as god creating light on the first day, which then had an evening followed by a morning. Then, on the fourth day, he creates the sun, moon, and stars. How is it that god created light without having these light-modifying items? Christians almost always respond with "God is light." But, if that's the case, how can he create something which already existed? I started reading science-based texts afterward, and relized that both can't be true at the same time. Cast commentary: Victor: I 100% agree that religions are mostly indoctrination of young children into their parents' religion. Ryann: As a non-Jew, I'm not super familiar with birthright. But she has a fair point about many deities having similar qualities. Michelle: As a non-Mormon, it's hard to comment on the intricacies of the experience. I don't disagree with her reasoning. Kameron: I know the feeling about some of what he's saying. For example, I believed that non-Christians were damned to an eternity in hell. 4. The world would be better off without religion. Tl;dr: Strongly agree Religion has and is restricting scientific progress. Religion has and is oppressing and restricting human freedom. Cast commentary: Victor: Yes, religion has harmed people. Ali: I'm not sure it's true that religion brings a lot of good to the world. Religion brings canings and stonings. Religion brings hatred and subjugation. As far as people needing an instruction manual to be good people, that's what societal norms are for. We grow up to understand what's right and wrong. We don't need a holy book to tell us that. A true follower of Christinity should be stoning people that don't go to church on Sunday. Is that the right thing to do? Evan: Yes, there would be stereotypes and prejudices without religion. However, we wouldn't be giving fairy tales power to dominate and govern people--in some cases, in horrendous ways. 5. I wish I believed in a higher power. Tl;dr: Strongly disagree Ok, here's the thing. Do I wish that there WAS a higher power, and that there IS FOR SURE an afterlife? Yeah, that would be cool. But I don't wish that I believed in that, because then I'm wishing that I believe in a fairy tale. I'd rather believe reality to be that which it is: an existence wherein I have time on Earth, and then I'm dust. Cast commentary: Evan: Agreed Ali: Sure, it would be comforting to believe. But that doesn't make it true, so you're still believing in a lie. Ryann: Death can certainly be a hard experience. The idea of not existing can be tough. But those are concepts that we can still deal with without a higher power. 6. I would be upset if my children believed in God. Tl;dr: somewhat agree My answer here is a guess, really. I don't have kids, so I don't know that my answer wouldn't change if I did have a child. Let's look at some hypotheticals. If my child was a mildly religious person who found comfort and encouragement in religion, I would be disappointed, but would understand and be accepting. If my child used their religion as justification for hatred and subjugation, I would be incredibly disappointed and very upset about their belief. Cast commentary: Victor: I mean, disowning is pretty harsh. It's also kind of insulting to our community to assume that any irreligious person would disown their religious child without some sort of incredibly tough action happening. I couldn't imagine I'd disown a child unless they turned out to be someone like Trump: a person completely void of any moral or ethical standing, wholly invested in the furtherance of their own person to the detriment of the world as a whole. Michelle: I mean, you could be a cult member and not be hurting anyone else. Does that make it good to be in a cult? Kameron: See above Ryann: If your problem(s) with religious people in the past have been the actions they've taken because of their religion, then your problem is in fact with their religion.

Allah is the just the Arabic word for capital G God, meaning the creator, even arab Christians and Jews say Allah. Hence the three Abrahamic faiths. The God I believe in now is the God I've always believed in. But I don't fiddle with the nature of God by saying he's three in one or mix European pagan beliefs into it like Christians do. If being Christian means being a follower of Christ, who all muslims believe and love, then I'm a better Christian as a Muslim than before
As an atheist I learned religion doesn’t ruin the world, human beings ruin religion and everything they touch. To all the people in the comments who say religion is a man made religion, you are right. But neither religion nor god can force you to do good or evil deeds. God and religion are suppose to be a certain guide and an influence . honestly religion to me is confusing. Religion contradicts itself, that’s why I don’t follow religion and god. I can’t be apart of any religions that spread hate and love at the same time. I understand if people want be apart of a religion and follow the good aspects of it and see the good. I respect religion, religious people, and their god because it’s the moral thing to do. The Human Race Should Know, Morality comes from inside us, not from god nor religion.
I have always said that Religion is not inherently bad, it is the humans who abuse the power that faith has over a religion's followers that use religion for bad.
@@JackNguyen- very debatable. Religion has similar morals and thought process while atheists are more diverse as it's a broader "religion" than Islam or Buddhism

I think they were going for the idea that, even if you're religious, you probably presume that your god has a plan in mind for the world and everyone on it, and thusly whether or not you pray for something, it's going to go according to that plan, making praying a redundant act. And if you're non-religious, you obviously wouldn't think anyone is out there listening to prayers, also making praying ineffective. It works on either side, really.
Gabriel Celeste but that “God has a plan” idea is not valid for many religions, for example Islam. In Islam your fate can change due to your prayers and actions. Gods plan both includes your prayers and includes the changes of your fate, as we believe.

Well it's more like an instruction manual thats up for interpretation. Like it says "Screwdriver" and you can decide whether or not to use the screwdriver to make a home for a homeless person or stab the homeless person.
For the prayer being a waste of time thing, I think it 100% depends on the situation. For a lot of things there are much much better things you can do, like the girl bringing up school shootings, thoughts and prayers aren't productive. But on an individual level, sometimes prayer is all a person has. I've straight up told one of my clients to pray before, and I'm an atheist. But he's very religious, and he's dealt with a lot of bad stuff, and the light at the end of the tunnel religion is for some people is what keeps some of us going. I'm not in that camp, but I respect those who get a lot out of it.
In my opinion (an atheist), religion isn’t a bad thing. It helps teach good morals to many developing youth, and while it wasn’t the way I developed, I see it in a lot of my friends. Without good people who were raised like that in my life, I don’t know where I would be.
I kind of see praying as a meditation or a way to center oneself. There are so many studies showing the importance and benefits of meditation and reflection. So if praying helps get that person there, I don’t see why it’s considered bad
@@nathanherrold2806 I disagree with the statement "religion teaches good morals". If an intelligent being like a human came from nothing and this nothing is an unconscious thing, then it is possible that this thing has produced, after several attempts, a being of our characteristics but its abilities miss our capabilities billions of times and since this being has a superintelligent but limited ability He was able, through several experiments, to control the unconscious thing that he came from, and thus he had the ability to produce beings, and after several attempts he produced humans and this universe.

Manuyi 😇 tbh it’s hard to believe someone doesn’t believe in God. Edit: The reason to why I said “it’s hard to believe someone doesn’t believe in God” is because, A. No one really knows how anyone was born but everyone has someone they were born from. The second reason I stated this is because as someone who believes it God, I wonder what keeps Atheists going when something very hard which seems impossible happens to them. No need to say bad things about Christians because at the end of the day, no human knows everything.
Ali Bern For me it is very very difficult to understand how anyone could believe in a god. There are so many different religions, so many different gods, texts that have run through the ringer and back and might not even translate correctly, and be historically biased. The only thing (in my opinion) that says that “this one god that is geographically relevant to this specific region due to colonization is my one true god” is based upon sheer faith and nothing else, I just need more than blind faith to lead me I guess.
Ali Bern to me it actually isn’t. Without sounding rude, I think it’s natural for humans in this developed generation to “question” beliefs that we are raised upon, especially being the animals with the most complex minds. I could go on about all the reasons why people question God’s existence, but as you can see in the video they are all based upon personal experiences. At the moment I am antagonistic and unsure about everything in life, but my grandma is very religious and she seems very happy, so I understand why you feel comforted by a God. If you don’t mind me asking, what is your religion?

“If there are people out there who feel they need an instruction manual to be a good person then I think they should have it”... this isn’t getting enough appreciation.
I think the main issue with religion is interpretation. Two people can read the bible, but one is a protestant and the other a roman catholic. They have the same instructional manual, BUT their ideologies are entirely different.
@MLG Kaktus Well you're supposed to lie so once you say you're the liar it's not quite lying anymore because that's the game. Also my impression being raised by/around different denominations of Christianity is it depends on how faithful you are and what denomination you are.
I'm 14 and I know that there is no god. When someone else believes in a god it makes me think that they lack a basic common sense for the fact there is no proof of god or anything like that, and the only reason they believe is they were told so and had the idea implanted in their brain their whole life. Christ is about as trivial as Zeus. On the other hand, I believe that religion does help people deal with loss and feel a sense of purpose. For example, my friend's father passed away from covid and my friend's mom said that she didn't know how she would survive without god. What is your stance on religion being harmful or beneficial? Also, if you believe in god what is your actual reason?
Hey so I agree with most of the things u said and I am also an atheist. I did used to think that people who believed in religion lacked common sense but my sis explained to me that many people believe out of a need to have a purpose in their life and a fear of death. For example, the Mayans constructed a god for rain because they didn’t know how rain worked. We now know that rain is caused because of precipitation but now on earth people don’t know how the universe was created or what will happen when they die so I think that’s why they believe. About religion being harmful, I do think it hurts more than helps at least for me. I have a lot of religious trauma and think that organized religions like Christianity use fear to control people. The Christian god in the Bible also is not a very loving person. He condoned both slavery and genocide. Some Bible stories are also very disturbing. If there is a god, I still wouldn’t worship him because I would not want to worship a god who causes pain and suffering.

I wish there would have been some older people in this group too. My dad's an atheist and I think a person around his age would have been cool to see and hear from.
Same my dad's 52 and he's atheist as well (I'm agnostic)
I know we're a rare breed, but I wish they had someone who grew up in an agnostic family. The atheists they had on seem more obsessed with fighting their former selves than with engaging the concept of theism. There is nothing wrong with their path in life, just with everyone on the same path the video ends up a little monotone.
They all seem to have left a religion but I was simply never faithful to one. I’d definitely love to hear from some older people.

Agnostic and atheist are not contradictory, agnostic is "i do not know" and athiest is "i do not believe"
Yeah that was weird because I personally think that majority of atheists are agnostic and gnostic atheist is non-existent
Everyone is agnostic, regardless of what people say nobody "knows" if God actually exists so the term agnostic is a bit redundant

“Who am I to say who you should believe in as long as your not hurting anybody” 👏👏
@@triad5766 the standard is innate human morality, the thing all religious rules are based off of...
@@triad5766 Wtf... Even if i am atheist I would obviously not hurt anyone. If you need a religion to teach you that then there's a real problem...
“I’m scared of becoming nothing.”
As an atheist, that's quite relatable.
A. No God/s whatsoever
And, since this has been happening since the Big Bang, there's atoms in you that might had been part of dinosaurs, comets or machines.
my opinion is that we might be living in a simulation. Most religious persons are an NPC.
1. I am open to some supernatural and spiritual ideas.
Tl;dr: strongly disagree
This is a broad question, IMO, because of how "open" can be interpreted.
Commentary on the cast:
Evan: he gets it
Kameron: He's right, we don't know.
Tl;dr: strongly agree
Commentary on the cast:
Evan: Ok, so he's talking about what prayer means to other people--presumably religious persons.
Tl;dr: strongly agree
I was raised as a Baptist Christian.
Cast commentary:
Victor: I 100% agree that religions are mostly indoctrination of young children into their parents' religion.
Tl;dr: Strongly agree
Religion has and is restricting scientific progress. Religion has and is oppressing and restricting human freedom.
Cast commentary:
Victor: Yes, religion has harmed people.
Tl;dr: Strongly disagree
Ok, here's the thing.
Cast commentary:
Evan: Agreed
Ali: Sure, it would be comforting to believe. But that doesn't make it true, so you're still believing in a lie.
Ryann: Death can certainly be a hard experience. The idea of not existing can be tough. But those are concepts that we can still deal with without a higher power.
6. I would be upset if my children believed in God.
Tl;dr: somewhat agree
My answer here is a guess, really.
Cast commentary:
Victor: I mean, disowning is pretty harsh.
Kameron: See above
Ryann: If your problem(s) with religious people in the past have been the actions they've taken because of their religion, then your problem is in fact with their religion.

Why do you find Allah more likely to exist than the christian god?
Allah is the just the Arabic word for capital G God, meaning the creator, even arab Christians and Jews say Allah. Hence the three Abrahamic faiths.
The God I believe in now is the God I've always believed in. But I don't fiddle with the nature of God by saying he's three in one or mix European pagan beliefs into it like Christians do.

@@KxngTsuGamingOGkxng I think he just didn't consider the option of it being a form of stress relief. He's approach was more related to the idea of utility and I thought the same about the question. I didn't consider the option of it being useful to yourself and it makes a lot of sense actually.
“If there are people out there who feel they need an instruction manual to be a good person then I think they should have it”... this isn’t getting enough appreciation.
Hmm, well it depends what the instruction manual is. Buddhist teachings are probably OK, old testament not so much.
@@rywilk good thing Judaism is a minority religion
Exactly they didn't diss Christianity and I greatly appreciated it
I think the main issue with religion is interpretation. Two people can read the bible, but one is a protestant and the other a roman catholic. They have the same instructional manual, BUT their ideologies are entirely different.
The bible is your instruction manual
They should do “odd man out : can 6 Christians find the atheist “ or other way around
Courtney Wiltz they’ve done it already
@MLG Kaktus Well you're supposed to lie so once you say you're the liar it's not quite lying anymore because that's the game. Also my impression being raised by/around different denominations of Christianity is it depends on how faithful you are and what denomination you are.
They did that already baby girl
Say no more
Courtney Wiltz they already made that
I'm 14 and I know that there is no god.
Good for you! You have some smarts and give us hope. 💞
