Cali Raised LED Ditch Light Install on 2nd Gen Toyota Tacoma Pt. 2

  • This video is part 2 of 2 of me installing the Ditch Lights from Cali Raised LED. This video is how I wired up the 27W Side Projecting podsto my truck. In my opinion this is the easiest way to do so if you do not own a sPOD.
    The wiring harness provided with the Pods is easy to wire up and includes its own toggle switch. I opted out and purchased an “OEM Style” (SMALL) blue backlit switch from Cali Raised LED. My truck is a 2006 Toyota Tacoma and it uses all (TALL) switches. So if purchasing the switch for a 2nd Gen. Tacoma I do recommend the (TALL)option when it comes to their “OEM Style” switch. I messed up so you don’t need to, luckily they sell the switches by themselves and I was able to purchase the correct one.
    In the video I still wired it up to the (SMALL) switch because I didn’t want to wait any longer and really wanted to see how they looked at night. It’ll be the same as the (TALL) and fit a lot more flush. If you want to see what the (TALL) switch looks like in the truck just head over to my IG @pauliesdiygarage
    The way you splice the wires from the harness to the switch is totally up to you. I used heat shrinking butt connectors and electrical tape. That’s what I am comfortable with and it worked fine.
    Cheers. Thanks again for watching.

    Thank you for being the first video I've found after searching for forever that actually shows connecting it to the battery.

    One year later and this will save me so much time! Talk about simplicity, you’ve given me the confidence to order and do this myself. Big props!

I got some things in the works tho, I bought some things for my truck and I need to do some maintenance on my civic. Thank you for your support man. I really appreciate it.

    I wired up a light bar up front with the same harness and switch OEM from Cali. Problem is the light on the switch is constantly on. Any advice. Light does toggle on and off. Thx

    Hey brother I have a question. I a '14 Tacoma Access Cab. On my light panel I have the upper panel closest to the vent. On the left is the factory switch for the vehicle fog lamps. The middle one, which I just replaced and it was a "true" blank and put in the switch for my ditch lights. Which your video helped IMMENSELY. The third and last switch blank isn't really a blank. When I pulled it out it had connector on the back with a bunch of wires running out from it. Do you have any idea what this does? I'm asking because I'm putting more lights on the truck and I really don't want to have to drill into my dashboard. Can you or anyone on here provide any insight? Thanks in advance.

    what is the difference of having amber or white lights? Also, if I have multiple sets of POD lights, is it safe to install them the same way and just stack them I the battery or is there something else I need?

  • @nunya1263
    @nunya1263 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey boss, ballpark how long did it take you to install the lights from start to finish?

    • @pauliesgarage2838
      @pauliesgarage2838  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, I’d say ballpark an hour. It took a little longer for me cuz I was filming and reshooting certain things to get the video the way I wanted. That being said tho if you really wanted to no longer than an hour the “longest” part of the job would be the wiring. Depends how you connect everything up, I just did heat shrink butte connectors and electrical tape. So good luck.
