I just put together a skin care routine for my mom and brother! I do worry a lot about being able to remove sunscreen since it blends in with my skin (I can't see it come off like the eyeliner), so I double cleanse too. :)
My face begins to glow as soon as after I wash my face with riceeberry face wash by litttleextra. Then, I use just vitamin c serum and moisturizer, and it all set. It's important to pick the correct face wash else you won't achieve the glow you want.
I have tried this rice berry face wash before and in my opinion, it's among the top face washes I've ever tried. It removes the dirt and excess oil off my skin and doesn't dehydrate skin. The reason behind it produces less lather due to the fact that they don't use sulphates to generate additional foam like other brands.

As a male medical student with zero background in anything cosmetic or dermatology related, this is really helpful for me and my future patients who might ask me about the stuff, thank you very much for making this video.
And has a sassy personality! Some of the YT derm channels are good but their personality is dull so it’s like watching paint dry or my old literature professor. He repeatedly said “just to say we did” do such and such.. that I started counting how many times he did say it just to pay attention.. it was like 63 times in a summer class session. Which means it was everyday but only a month long. 😳🤦🏻♀️
Vanicream all the way! Been using it for 2 years. Never had a skin problem ever since. I have a sensitive and acne prone skin. I'm a big fan! I want to be dermatologist in the future because of you! God bless you! 😍 🙌
buy ph testing kit on amazon, put product in a small bowl, dip the ph strip inside bowl. Let it sit until ph strip changes color, and the color should come with a color testing key with all the colors that the strip could possibly show. the key should indicate the ph range of a product. hope this helps.
Yesss ! I stopped washing my face with cleanser in my morning routine and only washed with lukewarm water followed by moisturizer and sunscreen . I did this was a week just to calm my face because it was breaking out and nothing helped 😭 . After a week i started to see that my skin became softer and calmed down . I continued the same for another week . 3rd week I got myself a 5% niacinamide serum and used it only at night after cleansing followed by moisturizer. My skin is SO MUCH better now 😭🕊️ it's softer and I don't have acne
I would love a video on scalp care! Types of dandruff and what causes it and how to fix it would be so useful! You're fantastic and all your videos are so helpful.
Hey, I'd love a video about hair removal methods, which ones work best for which skin type, and how to prevent and treat folliculitis post hair removal :)
I use the First Aid Beauty cleanser and I have used it as a double cleanse (and I wear a full face of makeup) and it took everything off. I think it could defiantly be a one and done if you had the average persons makeup on. It takes off eyeliner and liquid lips. It’s very impressive without stripping your skin. Highly recommend 💖
Yes, I’d like to know as well. I have sun spots that just won’t go away. Tried tret, azelaic acid, BR P50 PIGM 400… and lots more. I’m ready for in office treatment
I'm 40 years old and I've been experiencing break outs. I've tried every product to treat acne and nothing has worked. My dermatologist prescriped retina A. When I first started with retina A I was using different types of cleaners and finally found a product that works amazing. It removes my eye make-up (I only use eye shadow, liner, and mascara), and the serums and moisturizer. Plus it doesn't leave my face squeaky clean. It's also soap free which I like. The product is La Roche-Posay: Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser. I ❤️❤️❤️ it.
My acne prone skin has never been more clear since I started following you two months ago, thank you!!! I love double cleansing at night with micellar and vanicream, it’s so gentle and actually works well for my skin. I just use an active after and the aveeno serum for a moisturizer, so it’s not too heavy of a routine. Never looked better 🤩
It's so fascinating how quickly my outbreaks stopped and I got cured permanently from HSV 1&2. All thanks to @Draloha1 th-cam.com/channels/_YFEEZEr1BxGkNg1d4vqww.html ♥️🧡💙
@@lonevoyager6026 yes! But I do usually work out in the morning so in the shower I’ll use either a salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide wash sometimes too
Philosophy purity creamy cleanser is amazing. The “original” one. It takes everything off. And if the first wash didn’t, then try a second wash. It’s very hydrating for dehydrated skin types. Leaves my skin baby soft and very toned. Removes all makeup and sunblock. And I always use a toner after. But love this cleanser. I have acne prone dehydrated skin. Never breaks me out.
@@zrockyassine Yes! I'm 26, but I feel like women get so pressured by companies to buy a lot of bs as they mature. I'd love to aid my mom more and aunts. Plus, I'd be helpful as I mature too❤
Best cleanser I ever used: DHC Deep Cleaning Oil. Don’t need to use a makeup remover beforehand, it melts everything off, even stubborn makeup! Also doesn’t leave skin dry. Love it!
It’s my fav cleansing oil too! I dont have mascara and eyeliner leftovers in the morning whenever I use it. It’s definitely better than micellar water. I still double cleanse tho.
TY! I have been using Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser for years at my dermatologist's recommendation (it has a ph of 7). I have dry to normal, sensitive skin. I don't use any products with fragrance or essential oils. The cleaner can be drying if you use too much product (as it foams. Many people on retinoids complain that it is too drying). It doesn't take off makeup or water-resistant sunscreen. I was getting to a point where my face wasn't liking it but I started pairing it with Apothaka EO-free oil cleanser (the founder is a friend and I was super skeptical and afraid of oil cleansers. It is the only one of dozens I have tried that doesn't irritate me. Go figure) and the two together perform magic. The oil makes the Vanicream cleanser less drying. Make-up and my hardcore suncreen disappear at night (I wash my face with water in the morning). I am very lucky (genes) that I have very clear skin but I think since I have been using this combo, my skin is even better and I spend less time in my derm's chair. I follow up cleansing with a retinol at night (I can't tolerate a retinoid) and Vanicream Cream (at my derm's rec. I don't need a lot. I also use the cream on my body). I am not a fan of Vanicream's light lotion or their new lotion with ceramides. Both make me hot and bothered and break me out. The same goes for Cerave hydrating Cleanser and La Roche Posay's Toleraine Dermo Milky Cleanser.
Found the Vanicream cleanser because of your channel and LOVE it! It's been a great choice for my sensitive, redness prone, dry skin. Thank you for the recommendations!
The most effective at being two for one that I've tried, is Dermalogica Special cleansing gel. It's not cheap, but the big size bottle lasts me at least 6-7 months. It also makes me want to wash my face at night, and when I have it, I stick to it, instead of trying out ten others that I don't love. Holy grail cleanser.
@@evebber4467 I use it at night - to either single or double cleanse depending on how much stuff is on my face.( I also use it after using a balm cleanser. But if I can't be bothered to use a balm first, Special cleansing gel does a pretty good job on its own too!)
I just changed my cleanser from CereVe foaming cleanser. It completely dried my face out. No matter how many oils or creams I put in my face, it was insane. I’ll def try an oil cleanser!
I’d love a video on fillers, botox and other things like that. Even though we’re seeing a lot more celebrities getting these procedures reversed (dissolved), I still feel like a large majority of people (women) are still getting these (I work in corporate, and theres a trend of getting these “light” procedures during their lunch break - NO JOKE)
I am 60 years old and although my skin is not sensitive, it is very dry. I find that the Vanicream cleanser is gentle on my skin and does not strip it. I don't often wear makeup, but when I do, I use Micellar water or cleansing oil/balm to get rid of it and then follow with the Vanicream. It works perfectly. I'm tickled to see that you recommended my favorite second step cleanser. It works as body wash as well and doesn't irritate certain sensitive areas.
I have dry skin and also wear eyeliner. My favourite cleanser is Hylamide High Efficiency Cleanser. It removes all the eye make up and doesn't dry my skin. I use it with a face cloth, but it can also be used without one. Also good is Niod's LVCE and although it's more expensive, it lasts forever.
I love Bioderma Atoderm Cleansing Oil. It can be used as a body wash. facial cleanser, even as a shampoo, and it’s safe for the kiddos. It’s so gentle and not oily at all. It removes my makeup in one step and keeps my skin hydrated to boot.
I’m in the ‘cleansers should be the least expensive step in your routine’ camp. Pretty sure the LRP Toleriane cleanser is the most bougie cleanser I’ve ever bought 😂 Thanks for the video!
I used to remove makeup and cleanse my face with Shiseido's Oil Purifying Cleanser but when someone introduced Heimish All Clean Balm to me, I've never changed since then. It's just THE BEST :)
Loooovvvee Vanicream products!!! My HG products are their body wash, their body cream, & deodorant. Simple yet pretty effective for someone who has eczema as an underlying skin issue.
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. I have used it for 22 years. Every time I attempt to use anything else (including the LRP and Vanicream) I come back to it. Takes off makeup and cleans with no residue. I put on dry skin, work in, dampen my fingers and it starts to emulsify; keep washing then rinse and gently go over my face with a damp microfiber washcloth and cool water. Takes 90 seconds and that's with waterproof mascara. Very sensitive skin prone to redness, normal to dry. Love this stuff.
Hello Dr Idriss, firstly thank you for your videos, I've learned a lot about skin and cosmetics ingredients. My favourites are: Perfectly Clean Multi-Action Foam Cleanser (Estee Lauder), Liquid Facial Soap (type 2 by Clinique) - washing cleaners Make-up removers: Bi-facil (Lancome), One step Facial Cleanser with orange extract (Clarins), Hudrabio H2O (Bioderma). But my routine is reversed - under shower I clean my face with a washing cleanser (and a Foreo) and then the leftovers of my make-up with the make-up remover. I don't know how wrong is that, it just works better for me. Afterwards I often use rose water all over my face and love it.
Phew had to wait til the end to see that my cleanser was on the list lol. I love Vanicream, been using it for years and was also recommended by my old dermatologist. I have very sensitive skin and Vanicream works perfect to cleanse my skin, I also use their light moisturizer. Thanks Dr. Shereene and also congrats on your new office!
Combination skin 🤚🏼 I love Paula’s Choice Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser. Shani Darden’s Cleansing Serum, and Tatcha’s Rice Wash . They are all very dreamy and leave my skin feeling fresh, balanced, and happy.
Hi! I'm a big fan of you! Since I found your channel, I've been watching you non-stop, I love to watch your videos about skin care ingredients over and over😍. Hello dr.Shereene! Great topic-thank you! I have sensitive/dry skin type and my favorite cleanser/makeup remover is Vichy 3 in 1 for sensitive skin. It does what it says: cleansing milk, toner and eye make-up remover in one. I have been using it for...15 years now. 🙌 I never had any problems with removing makeup, it never stripped my skin. I have tried to use others and to change, but I have always came back to my Vichy Purete thermale 3 in 1.💞 That's true love! 💖
I find that the Fresh soy cleanser actually does a good job removing makeup. It's a very strange texture, but it works very well and there is no "squeaky clean" feeling to it. It's the only face wash that will actually move my liquid eyeliner around.
I’d be interested in a series of in-office skin treatments for different concerns: acne, texture, rejuvenation, and hyperpigmentation. And if she has any disclaimers on treatment women of color/ethnic skin tones should avoid. Not only lasers but in-office chemical peels and microneedling treatments as well. I think what I especially appreciated about her channel is that she can not only treat medical skin conditions but also focuses on the aesthetic/cosmetic side. Some of us want to go beyond the basics of SPF and prescription creams/lotions. I’d like to know what people can do as extra credit once they’ve established a good skincare routine (which I’d still very important). Realistically, the models/celebrities are getting these types of treatments and have glowing skin
The main things to be wary of with fitzpatrick levels IV-VI are resurfacing lasers (any practitioner should be able to adjust settings for any laser/IPL to accommodate and customize it to your skin, but ESPECIALLY these higher level lasers) and chemical peels, mostly TCA
Hello ! Yes I have a great recommendation which is the Paulas choice OPTIMAL HYDRATING CLEANSER ! It’s a gorgeous gentle yet effective CREAM cleanser that melts away makeup and dirt but it washes of completely clean without leaving a residue. I often use it with dry face and just a hint of water on my hands 🙌 (like a cleansing balm) and oh boy ! It’s the BEST CLEANSER EVER . I promise 😅🤩👌
The cleansing balm still needs some water used with it, does work to remove make up with water rinse 💧it will get milky and and wash it off! I don't always do a double cleanse but I try to double cleanse specially when I have on a ton of make up. Start with a cleansing balm to remove make up then a water cleanser that foams up a bit and this helps get rid of everything. Love ur videos ❤ wanna try the aveeno!
I was looking for cleanser’s recommendation and found this -had to notice how glamorous you have become over the past years -you were cute then and cute now -thanks for the straight talk about - I’m a fan !
I recently started using Sheseido Eye and Lip Makeup Remover for eye makeup. I find that when I saturate a cotton pad and gently press on eye makeup for a few seconds then wipe most of it comes off. Then I use the same micellar water as Dr Idriss to start removing makeup from face. I do a second wash using Vanicream. My skin is very soft and fresh when finished, not dry or squeeky.
Dr. idriss, I just have to say how much I love the Cerave Hydrating cleanser. I am 59 and it leaves my skin feeling so lovely. However, one night, I felt like I needed a little more strength to my cleanser, and I grabbed my granddaughters Aveeno baby wash, added a small amount to my Cerave. LOVED it. I use The Ordinary's Squalane cleanser and/or micellar water to get off makeup!
I have sensitive skin and my favorite cleanser is La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo - Cleanser. I can usually only find it on the company website. I still use the Bioderma before even though I rarely even wear mascara. Please do a video on French drugstore items🙏
Gel cleanser that will remove everything including Lancome mascara! Clinique liquid mild facial soap, dry/ combination ( only dry doesn’t work) I don’t know if it’s the best thing but it sure works, especially if you double cleanse. Question: You covered morning skin routine, evening skin routine. Often times i come home in the early afternoon, i want to clean my face, remove make up but than what? Too soon for retinol, the sun is still shining. Sun screen again? And wash my face yet again before going to sleep? I want to put something because my skin feels either too dry or just but don’t know what🧐 Thank you 😊
I've never found one that does both. Banila Co. Clean It Zero cleansing balm (takes off everything) to take off my makeup and either Cosrx Low-pH Good Morning cleanser or Inkey List oat balm cleanser. Love them!
I would love a video on body skin issues such as stretch marks and cellulite etc and what can actually be done for it vs. what is just marketing lies. Love your videos! :)
Cellulite is fat. Increasing muscle tissue in the body is the only way. So basically, start lifting and stop with the cardio. Also alcohol increases appearance.
La roche posay foaming cleanser completely stripped my skin everytime i used it. I have oil skin, have breakouts every once in a while. I tried their cleanser for dry skin, and it did nothing for me. The one that I found and will *never* stop using is Peach slices Salicylic cleanser. It's a gel cleanser and maaaannnn does it work
I’ve been switching between a few cleansers. One that works perfectly for my dry skin is CeraVe Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser. The second ingredient listed is glycerine. I always remove eye makeup first with a regular eye makeup remover.
Is this great timing or what?! I've been a loyal Vichy user for as long as I remember but I've been meaning to change my cleanser for a while now, and BOOM 💥 Doctor Shereene is here with the "right balance" video. ❤
Q: how best to treat KP in toddler? She gets 3ish baths a week. And thank you for all you do! I’m so glad you wandered into James Welsh’s live by accident lol! Keep being awesome!
You are so youthful. Not sure how old you are, but I would have believed you were fresh out of highschool. But anyway.. this video is very informative and I appreciate the content. I’m sure I can speak for many people when I say it can be super overwhelming with all the options out there, trying to navigate your way through skin care and what’s best for you. So I definitely appreciate when someone who is a professional can give the information to the public to help maybe ease that tension or help narrow down our options.
My favorite 2-in-1 for years has been Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser. Periodically I try recommendations I come across, but I keep coming back to this one because it's so effective and cheap (under $6). I feel I don't need a second cleanse because I've followed with a toner and cotton pad before and didn't see anything to warrant that additional step. I have combination skin and it does start to feel dry if I don't follow soon after with a moisturizer, but I've experienced that with every single cleanser.
Your excitement is contagious. It's nice to know that you read all the comments even though you can't respond to them all. Therein lies hope. The only reason I never lie is because I can't remember anything so I just tell the truth otherwise I just getting worse trouble. Anyway, those who dedicate their lives to the health profession are on the right team. So... Fear not. There is a common sensical army behind you that you probably have never even considered to fathom. There's a word for that do you know that word is? I do. XOX
I have dry and a bit sensitive skin. My favorite cleansers are Purito from Green cleansing Oil and the Caudalie gentle cleansing milk for my double cleanse. It was reaally hard for me to find cleansers that don‘t leave that super tight feeling afterwards. So, very happy that these two work really well. I’m in Europe so we don‘t have Aveeno or Vanicream. Video-Idea: Routine for Bacne or these red dots/irritated skin from working out. Love your videos! ❤️
Can you tell me if that Purito in winters leaves the oil residue afterwards? And you Have to use a non stripping Foaming cleanser after that Or your milk gentle cleanser works perfectly fine?
@@umaimasiddiqui7376 no, it washes off really well. But I always do a second cleanse afterwards. As for second cleaners, I only use non foaming milks or gentle gels. All the foaming stuff I tested was too drying for my skin. Even the ones made for dry and sensitive skin. 🤷🏻♀️
@@simone4894 thank you so much for your response. I was afraid to go for oil cleanser and then use Gentle non foam cleanser after that as most oil cleansers do leave their residue
I've been using The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser for my first cleanse and Cerave Hydrating Facial Cleanser for the 2nd cleanse. I don't wear makeup but I wear many layers of mineral sunscreen and the Squalane Cleansing Gel really breaks it down and it's very gentle. I've also loved the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Balm for the first cleanse. I like that better than Clinique Take the Day Off balm.
The Effaclar gel cleanser from LRP is the best salisylic acid cleanser I have tried (I use it for blackheads and exfoliation) with the reformulation. The added LHA actually makes a huge difference from just salisylic acid alone. My skin has never felt so smooth and it's the only thing that keeps my nose clear of blackheads (I used to have to extract them daily).
Hi! May I ask what's your skin type and skin condition? I have a combination skin which is more on the dry side usually but my pores are clogged on my T area, but my skin gets on the oily side during summer. I wonder if I could use it as well.
I use this as a second cleanser in my targeted areas and it works a treat. I can't use it for my entire face as it's too drying for my skin in general.
Tatcha camellia cleansing oil then the rice wash is chefs kiss. They are worth the price seriously i am not the person that wants to spend heavy prices but boooooooooooy it's magic.
It's a little pricey, but the Tatcha camellia cleansing oil does that "two in one" thing really well. I have sensitive, oily, very acne-prone skin and I have used it as an all in one makeup remover and cleanser with no problem. Two of my other favourites are CeraVe's hydrating cleanser and First Aid Beauty's Pure Skin cleanser. The FAB cleanser takes off most makeup right away and doesn't strip my skin. The CeraVe will not remove makeup at all, but it does wonders for redness and dryness, so it's a perfect second cleanse.
When initially establishing a skin routine, I was very enthusiastic about CeraVe until I started using it and a week later it freaking dried my skin to ashes and my cheeks would get so red and itchy, that I couldn’t even put on my hydrating cream after with-ought it causing me a burning feeling. I have a combination skin. Stopped the CeraVe and started with Esthederm Osmoclean and everything went back to normal.
'Purity made simple' cleanser from Phylosophy can take of mascara, eyeliner (even waterproof ones!) and doesnt over strip the skin, in fact it just makes it beautiful! Ive tried them all lol but keep coming back to this one, its the best
My face is completely red, literally. Years of damaging my skin made me finally understand that I have the worst damaged skin barrier. Just started a super basic gentle routine to start healing my skin finally. How long does it take to heal a super damaged barrier????? It literally makes me cry of all these dermatologists I went to and all made me feel like I was dumb for asking why my face was red and just getting prescribed birth control when all I really had was a very damaged skin barrier 😭😭😭
Hadalabo cleansing oil has been a favorite for years. You got me to start trying some loreal products and their glycolic cleanser is pretty good, but not everyday. The Neogen green tea cleansing stick is also really nice.
I adore my Bare Minerals Smoothness cleansing oil. It has a really luxurious feeling and has never caused a breakout or irritation. I look and feel soft and healthy after using it. I have acne prone and combination skin. It’s a holy grail item for me.
I have sensitive skin with rosacea, and I use the Bioderma Sensibio H20 followed by the Aveeno Calm and Restore cleanser you mentioned, it works well for me. The Bioderma Sensibio micellar gel cleanser also removes makeup really nicely.
L’Oreal Revataluft Dream Intensives 3.5 pure Gllycolic Acid cleansing Gel. I’m 59, I can’t complain, works beautifully, I have a t-zone. Hasn’t failed yet.I do use the nivelar water before cleaning. The one I mentioned it’s gentle and moisturizing, recommend trying it..
I think you'd like the Krave Matcha Hemp Hydrating cleanser. It's my favorite! It foams up slightly and I feel like its been able to remove most of my makeup. And I never feel dry. The LRP Toleraine for dry takes off makeup really well too
Love all your videos! Thank you so much! I have a photoallergic reaction to chemical sunscreens so I must use mineral sunscreens which are hard to wash off my face. I recently added in Paula's Choice Oil Cleanser and that has helped so much! And then I added in micellar water after seeing it in your videos. So now I triple cleanse: Bioderma micellar water, Paula's Choice oil cleanser (I apply it to a dry face), then Paula's Choice Clear Pore Normalizing Cleanser (part of her acne line) right on top of the oil cleanser. The triple cleanse seems to get most of the sunscreen off my face, so I'm not so reluctant to apply it. I now plan to wear sunscreen even in the winter to protect myself from the UVA rays.
Purity by Philosophy is a fabulous cleanser. I’ve used it for 10 years, and all of the reforms, it takes every bit of makeup off the first time, and leaves your skin hydrated, clean, and soft. The only time I’ve ever had to double cleanse to take off costume makeup, and in that case two pea size uses of Purity does the trick!
I have to thank Doctor Idriss for inadvertently turning me into a LRP fanatic! My default cleanser is the Toleriane creamy one. I don't think we have the Medicated Gel Cleanser in Europe but the Effaclar 2% Salicylic is amazing - obliterates small pimples, heals acne scars and leaves the skin satin-smooth. Not quite as gentle as the Toleriane obviously but doesn't strip the skin either. My favourite winter cleanser though is the Yves Rocher Sensitive vegetale cream. Very rich and makes the skin positively velvety.
Great two for one cleanser is Shu Umera oil cleanser. It becomes milky with water and removes makeup (except for stubborn waterproof mascara) and also cleanses the skin thoroughly without stripping it. That said, just to be safe, I generally double cleanse at night; but if I’m feeling super lazy this is a great option.
I love Beauty Pie’s Japan Fusion cleanser. It removes my makeup and doesn’t strip my skin. I do double cleanse but with the same cleanser. For stubborn eyeliner, I may need to use a q-tip and run alon my lash line but otherwise, it removes everything perfectly. The cleanser is a hybrid that starts out looking like a creamy/gel texture. You use it on dry skin and as you massage it it looks like oil, then you add water and it turns milky. If you are a member, it’s less than $8 for 100ml
Dr.Idriss I’m so thankful I found your channel.. I was getting so confused will the information vs misinformation regarding skincare out there. It should be a nobrainer to get information from a physician ! As a NP I appreciate the science behind everything
I've got a compromised skin barrier and everyone recommends ceramide creams. I'd love a video about ceramides in products, the golden ratio, and whether we even absorb any of the ceramides topically. I've heard brands like cerave contain so little ceramides it really doesn't make a difference. Are we better off just relying on things like niacinamide that increase ceramide production naturally?
Paulas choice skin balancing toning helped repair my skin barrier. It had ceramides and for some reason the toner formulation seemed to be more effective than the moisturizers I’ve tried
Facetheory has a really great ceramide moisturizer, called the Ceraquench Renewal Cream M6. A little goes a long way and it has helped some much with and irritation from actives in my skin care!
Try LPR gentle hydrating cleanser, it’s got ceramide in there. Or Avene replenished cleansing oil. I had my skin barrier damaged very badly two months ago and tried over 7 face cleansing. Those two are what I am using now without stripping more my skin barrier but retorted. Also, use Cereve moisturizer after. After 2 weeks introduce Paula’s choice omega 3 serum. It recommended by Dr. Vatina. It’s been helpful…
Not sure if you can buy this brand in the US but I love Ultraceuticals Ultra Balancing Gel Cleanser. Removes all my makeup and sunscreen and doesn’t leave my skin tight or dry. It’s fine around my eyes too.

I love the way Dr Idriss teaches us how to take better care of our skin! She's a true gem! 😍🙌🏻
Very good
And has a sassy personality!
we definitely need a ph testing video
buy ph testing kit on amazon, put product in a small bowl, dip the ph strip inside bowl. Let it sit until ph strip changes color, and the color should come with a color testing key with all the colors that the strip could possibly show. the key should indicate the ph range of a product. hope this helps.
Yes! I’m very interested in seeing a ph testing video too
I started using the Vanicream cleanser and I find it really nice and gentle!
Laser too!
Hi Doctor Idriss, I’d like to know more about lasers especially the one best for and Acne/Acne Scars & Marks 😘🥰
And for sun spot removal 🤝
👏👏, yes ! We want to know.
Absolutely!
Yes and at what age to start laser treatment!!
Hi, which one from vanicream cleander do you like? Does it foam? Or lather? Hope to hear.
It's so fascinating how quickly my outbreaks stopped and I got cured permanently from HSV 1&2. All thanks to @Draloha1 th-cam.com/channels/_YFEEZEr1BxGkNg1d4vqww.html ♥️🧡💙
Do u use vanicream morning and night?
@@lonevoyager6026 yes! But I do usually work out in the morning so in the shower I’ll use either a salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide wash sometimes too
@@jennycornetet3927 ah so 3 times a day sometimes? whats ur skin type?
Philosophy purity creamy cleanser is amazing. The “original” one. It takes everything off. And if the first wash didn’t, then try a second wash. It’s very hydrating for dehydrated skin types. Leaves my skin baby soft and very toned. Removes all makeup and sunblock. And I always use a toner after. But love this cleanser. I have acne prone dehydrated skin. Never breaks me out.
Breaks me out.

Yes!
The Vanicream cleanser is awesome for my extra dry, Uber sensitive 60+ skin. Happy that Vanicream line more accessible. Years ago was so hard to find.
Yes!!!!!
I’d like to hear about peptides sometime :)
Agreed, including copper peptides.
Me too!
yess !!!
@@Shan72393 Me too!!
Ohh really 6-7 months!! :O Morning and night washing or only night time?
@@evebber4467 I use it at night - to either single or double cleanse depending on how much stuff is on my face.( I also use it after using a balm cleanser. But if I can't be bothered to use a balm first, Special cleansing gel does a pretty good job on its own too!)
@@marianne6373 awesome thank you for responding! :) I’ve put it in my cart for my next spending spree! Have a great day
@@evebber4467 Hooray! I have a long term love affair with Dermalogica cleansers, and especially this one. I hope you'll love it too!
Just be careful with Dermalogica. They tend to put a lot of fragrance in their products that can be very irritating.
I just changed my cleanser from CereVe foaming cleanser. It completely dried my face out. No matter how many oils or creams I put in my face, it was insane. I’ll def try an oil cleanser!
I’d love a video on fillers, botox and other things like that. Even though we’re seeing a lot more celebrities getting these procedures reversed (dissolved), I still feel like a large majority of people (women) are still getting these (I work in corporate, and theres a trend of getting these “light” procedures during their lunch break - NO JOKE)
and if they migrate!
X3!!!
Pretty sure the LRP Toleriane cleanser is the most bougie cleanser I’ve ever bought 😂
Thanks for the video!
I use that cleanser too and LOVE IT
I too used and loved that cleanser. However, after a few months it seemed too drying for my combination skin. So now I’m exploring CeraVe.
@@mckee309 Have you tried Vanicream?
Have you tried the gentle, hydrating version of the LRP cleanser instead of the foaming one? It’s great.
Always this cleanser
I used to remove makeup and cleanse my face with Shiseido's Oil Purifying Cleanser but when someone introduced Heimish All Clean Balm to me, I've never changed since then. It's just THE BEST :)
I always look forward to my Saturday mornings listening to Dr. Idriss and her dermatology advise 😎 telling it like it is!
Thanks so much for highlighting our Vanicream™ Gentle Facial Cleanser!
When will you launch in India? We are waiting!
I love your cleanser and I use it every day.
Loooovvvee Vanicream products!!! My HG products are their body wash, their body cream, & deodorant. Simple yet pretty effective for someone who has eczema as an underlying skin issue.
They have deodorant?! I've fallen in love with the skin moisturizer and gentle cleanser. Vanicream is my HG.
Yes they do. I've been buying them from Amazon.
I like how most people call me a nerd as an insult, but when you say it I feel complimented 😊😊😊
Class is in session! I love how you explain things so clearly. I wish everyone could listen to this video. Learning so much! 💜
The way you clean your face I found you are a very detailed person. Thank you! 🌷
Hello Dr Idriss, firstly thank you for your videos, I've learned a lot about skin and cosmetics ingredients.
My favourites are: Perfectly Clean Multi-Action Foam Cleanser (Estee Lauder), Liquid Facial Soap (type 2 by Clinique) - washing cleaners
Make-up removers: Bi-facil (Lancome), One step Facial Cleanser with orange extract (Clarins), Hudrabio H2O (Bioderma).
But my routine is reversed - under shower I clean my face with a washing cleanser (and a Foreo) and then the leftovers of my make-up with the make-up remover. I don't know how wrong is that, it just works better for me. Afterwards I often use rose water all over my face and love it.
I use Cetaphil and it's the only cleanser my skin will tolerate, i wish it would get more recognition and love.
Is it for dry to sensitive ?

Currently looooving the Eucerin Urea Repair gel Cleanser for my face!!! Perfect for me! Straight forward composition and "NO" squeaky clean feeling 🙃
I love the Eucerin line!
Till I met you, is a great cleansing balm.
I was looking for cleanser’s recommendation and found this -had to notice how glamorous you have become over the past years -you were cute then and cute now -thanks for the straight talk about - I’m a fan !
Yes, we would love a video on testing the PH of cleansers! 💖👯♀️
I used Vanicream cleanser, but found it stripping. Love the Aveeno cleanser with a double cleanse!
Clinique liquid mild facial soap, dry/ combination ( only dry doesn’t work)
I don’t know if it’s the best thing but it sure works, especially if you double cleanse.
Question:
You covered morning skin routine, evening skin routine.
Often times i come home in the early afternoon, i want to clean my face, remove make up but than what? Too soon for retinol, the sun is still shining. Sun screen again? And wash my face yet again before going to sleep?
I want to put something because my skin feels either too dry or just but don’t know what🧐
Thank you 😊
I tried the JLO cleanser in a trial size, only one time, because I felt like I was washing my face with perfume. Love the Jordan Samuel cleanser.
Cleansers I have liked for makeup:
- Youth to the people gel cleanser
- Fresh soy face cleanser
- Tatcha cleaning oil
- Farmacy cleansing balm
My favorite is definitely LRP Tolerine, both formulas depending on my skin that day. And I love the oat cleansing balm from Inkey List.
I'm very impressed that she actually explained how it works
La roche posay foaming cleanser completely stripped my skin everytime i used it. I have oil skin, have breakouts every once in a while. I tried their cleanser for dry skin, and it did nothing for me. The one that I found and will *never* stop using is Peach slices Salicylic cleanser. It's a gel cleanser and maaaannnn does it work
Double cleanse with Bioderma then use La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser for my dry somewhat sensitive skin! Such a skin nerd 😄
I’ve been switching between a few cleansers. One that works perfectly for my dry skin is CeraVe Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser. The second ingredient listed is glycerine. I always remove eye makeup first with a regular eye makeup remover.
Stick to a non foaming fragrance free or kiehls cannibus cleanser.
Is this great timing or what?! I've been a loyal Vichy user for as long as I remember but I've been meaning to change my cleanser for a while now, and BOOM 💥 Doctor Shereene is here with the "right balance" video. ❤

You are so youthful. Not sure how old you are, but I would have believed you were fresh out of highschool.
But anyway.. this video is very informative and I appreciate the content.

Oh, PLEASE do a ph test on a variety of face cleansers and let us know the best one to use!
I love the Cerave hydrating cleanser. It cleanses but doesn't overstrip the skin, at a good price
I wonder if I could use it as well.
my skin actually hated that one :( gave me breakouts and dried my skin soo badly
Hi Dr. Idriss. I double cleanse with #1) elemis balm #2) is clinical cleanser. I love this combo 🤩 (I have normal/dry skin)
No 2 for 1 cleanser. I double cleanse with micellar water and some gel from yves roche for mixed skin.
I adore my Bare Minerals Smoothness cleansing oil. It has a really luxurious feeling and has never caused a breakout or irritation. I look and feel soft and healthy after using it. I have acne prone and combination skin. It’s a holy grail item for me.
The Oat Cleansing Balm from the Inkey list is great at removing makeup and cleaning!! Also its affordable 💖
The LRP Toleraine for dry takes off makeup really well too
Vanicream is my favorite it doesn’t make my face burn or dry my aging skin and it’s cheap!!!!!
I love "Simple" brand's gentle gel cleanser as an inexpensive option
My holy grail!!!
Combo/oily skin here & I love the La Roche Posay gel cleanser You mentioned combined with their hydrating cream cleanser. 👍🏻
