I'm a new Color Street Stylist but have been wearing it for over 1½ years, so I know quite a few tricks. Mineral Fusion works wonderful on Glitters, especially with nail clips or the hot water bowl & a cap full of Mineral Fusion in a Ziploc bag. OPI Plumping Top Coat works beautifully so does OPI Matte Top Coat. You can use a full size nail file to guide your extra set in without having to break them apart. When layering put the first set just a tad away from your cuticles and the other set up against your cuticles, this is the shelf method & prevents your nails from getting caught in your hair. Or if you place them on top of each other take a q-tip dipped in nail polish remover and gently smooth out each multi layer nail so that it won't catch in your hair. One last helpful tip: take off the plastic strip, pull the strip off the backing & place it on the backing about halfway down (this gives you better control with placement), use the same principle for the other hand but take off the silver tab & place the strip with the least amount on the backing. Good Luck and I hope that these tips help!
@@cknight169 layering a solid makes it last longer. Layering different sets like Beijing Beauty and Dripping in Diamonds lets you create different looks and adds life to the mani.
I just used the dashing Diva, streeps and they feel so cheap and they didn't adhere to my nails at all! It's so sad, because I'm going somewhere and I wanted to look good. They feel thin and cheap, and won't stick !
If mine chip and are still attached or start to peel up from the back after one week of wearing, I pull it up gently and put a bit of clear polish under it and then press it down.
You are such a beautiful woman! You truly have a gift - talking to people and capturing their attention. Thank you. And I think I’m gonna try to find this color myself and get a bunch. I always do pink or some kind of pink, but I really like this color that you used! I always have to have some kind of sparkle added. ❤️
If you wanna REALLY change up a solid, put on a Matte Clear Top Coat on them and it'll change your entire manicure!!! I have done it so many times and LOVE it so much!
To remove, I highly recommend GelMoment’s Flake Off! Much gentler on your nails! It applies like a regular polish… you leave it on for 3-5 mins, then use a cuticle pusher to very easily swipe off the polish. Easy peasy!
Holidaze was just added to the regular line for the spring launch! Also when applying a top coat, wait until they are cured just like washing your so the liquid doesn’tseep under the polish ☺️
Do you mean when applying a regular nail Polish top coat ( as I’ve heard some folks do ) to wait for them to cure first or before applying the glitter on top of the solids? Either way this is a wonderful tip and thank you but I’d like to understand it the right way 😆
melissa harris when applying a liquid top coat, don’t do it right away. Wait for the color street to cure to the nails first (about 30 minutes). Some people notice what looks like bubbles and it’s because they didn’t wait for color street to cure to the nail and the liquid top coat seeped under it.
You don't need to separate all the nails to put them back in the package. (Hard to get them back out again.) Lay them across a nail file and use that to guide them back into the package 👍
I put a layer of Revlon color stay clear top coat the second day. I put a layer of the clear every other evening or so. Keeps the tips better and the amazing thing is when you are ready to take them off, you don't need acetone ( bad stuff) you can actually peel the color sheet right off. Give it a try. My nails last 3 weeks.
I never leave comments but wanted you to know I found this very helpful. You have such a positive and calm way about you that I really enjoyed. Good luck!
It’s easiest to remove if your pour a little bit of the acetone enough to fill a corner of a baggie and then place it in a warm bowl of water and wiggle your fingers in the baggie and it comes off so easy.
I just joined as a stylist in March. I love them! I love doing my nails but I’m a first time mom and I’m trying to figure out how to mom and still have some me time. And these make it so much easier. Thank you for the tips and tricks. I’ll share these with my customers.
Girl- you saved me lol I only did my nails one other time and was not so good lol I used up my sheet and was disappointed. But now, because of you.. I was able to get a full mani/pedi and have enough to possibly do a second mani. Thank you so much.
I did my first set before watching any videos! Not a successful application 😖 but after watching you tube I have become addicted to color street! So easy and fun to wear ❤️
Thanks for your video! I'm new to Color Street and appreciate the tips. I also love videos from people who are honest about their imperfections and share that.
It probably sounds dumb, but my friend who is a stylist told me about the March stylist promotion and it was such a great deal I signed up. I don't intend to sell, but I got 18 sets, and for the price it was a great deal.
I find that using a hair dryer on medium heat for say about 10-15 seconds on each nail of newly applied nails helps seal them to prevent chipping, instead of waiting for a top coat to dry. Also, I looked at the ingredients of an expensive "moisturizing" nail polish remover that added glycerin to acetone for a gentler remover. I just added some glycerine to my 100% acetone now so we'll see how it works!
I used “Clear as day” over my solid on one hand and it lasted 14 days with minimal wear. I wore Dashing Diva and used Essie gel speed setter on the other hand and they lasted the same with minimal wear.
LOVE Color Street! I've been using them for a couple years, and greatly appreciate these tips and tricks. I used to use gel, but developed an allergy. I find that Color Street provides nearly the same amount of protection and strengthening to my nails as the gel did. I have longer nails, so I can't use a single strip for both fingers BUT I can use the leftover for my toe nails, thereby getting both a mani and pedi out of one set. Also, when they start growing out and I don't feel like applying a new set, I'll paint over them with regular nail polish. I get the benefit of the protection provided by strips with the fun of using some of my favorite nail polish colors. And the polish lasts much longer than it normally would on bare nails. The only thing I don't like about this is the ridge when they grow out, so I love the idea of smoothing the ridge with a Q-tip and polish remover before applying nail polish. Thanks again!
You can also combine some of the sets! I don't really do that because in my opinion they are perfect the way they are with just 1 set but many some people like to do combos! Btw I am only 11 and obsessed with color street :D
Thank You I just ordered my first sets from my friend who just became a seller and it is good to know these tips. I am going to watch all the color street videos you made and others as well. I subscribed I like your honesty and showing how it is actually done. Good Bad or Indifferent you were honest.
I use CND Shellac as my top coat. Mine last 2-3 weeks with no chipping or shrinking. Also, I get the strip right up to my cuticles and use the sponge tool to smooth the edge right down to the very edge for a nice clean look. No fingernail showing along the edge.
Thanks for sharing your tips video. I started wearing Color Street in November and joined as a stylist last week. I watched your video to get ideas for my first video.
Love these tips! I’ve been using Color Street on/off for almost a year now and I can’t believe I haven’t tried to use the same strip for both sides to use it twice! 🤦🏽♀️
I apply the same strip to my nails like she did but I also get a pedicure out of the strips too and I’ll use one strip for 4 toes because they are so little lol
Thanks Wendi! I have bought Color Street from a few different friends and tried them out a few times, but I have never heard any of these tips. I'm sharing your video with a work friend!
I'm fairly new to Color Street too and also was putting whole strips back in packaging to save 😄 . Thanks for the tips they really helped! Still not a lot of luck saving the extras as my nails are short also. I may try doing matching pedicure and use the whole set at once.
I saw another video where they folded the strip over the nail rather than leaving a raw edge. When I paint my nails I always try to do that so gonna try that.
I'm having a hard time getting a nice smooth edge. Ripping and filing makes them look rough. I'm having a similar issue in cases where I need to trim excess on the sides of the nail beds. Any tips?
I am a color Street consultant I fine the best is the clear coats nails I will do solid or glitter and then apply a clear coat nails design clear coat or just like the set called clear as day love it I never put a top coat on them just use color Street ❤

I don’t use a top coat. The only thing is to make sure you don’t apply over cuticle. I have used their clear strips on top of those I want them to last a long time. They lasted two weeks.
Great video! I have one suggestion, instead of breaking them into two pieces when you put them back in the package, I just FOLD them, then seal the package with a flat iron. They are easier to remove.

I do my nails and toes at the same time. I usually have enough of each strip (after dividing between each nail) to cover one of my four small toes on one foot. I then use the largest strip halved between my big toes and divide one strip among my other four toes (on the other foot) I have quite small and short nails so I can usually get two Mani/pedis out of a set. If the solid color strips don’t stay on as long as they should and you need to layer a glitter on top then they should sell them that way. I’m wondering why the solid colors come off easier? Maybe a change in formulation would help the brand.
I wish the solids had better staying power. I don't mind glitter accent nail but don't care for full glitter set. So I get about a week before tips are worn.

Oh you’re going to love them!! Good luck!
I am very new to this and so not sure what you mean about the solid colors and apply another color???? Please explain.
Invest in nail clips.. I promise it will save u sooo much time trying to get it off. And mineral fusion! Oh and try the anchor trick when applying!
Great tips. Thanks
You can use mineral fusion remover by putting a small amount in a sandwich bag. Get a bowl of hot water. Put your hand (all 5 fingers) in the bag and dip baggie in hot water. You can rub your fingers to remove polish. Glitter takes a bit longer, just like rubbing one at a time!
I tried that once and it was a complete disaster 😆 There was glitter everywhere!

Do you use a gel or shellac top coat, then put fingers under a light or just use a laquer top coat?
No, I just use a regular clear polish from Dollar Tree ☺️
How long can we keep the strips in the freezer before they need to be used?
Good news Wendi - they just announced this is back for spring! Stock up!
When you add the gel topcoat, do you use a UV light with it?
No, you don’t need to cure this particular one.
