      First of all! Color street has never EVER hid the fact that Incoco was not color street. So are you crazy! How can you sit there and mislead people in what all of you maybeeee 15 years of life. First of all if you know anything (which you are clueless) about marketing you would know that before you can establish your company culture, and/or future ventures you must first see the checks and balances. Call it breakthrough innovation, business model innovation, disruptive innovation, horizon 3 innovation - regardless of the name, the objective is the same: to develop brand-new sources of growth. To break out of incremental churn, companies must manage their core business and transform their future without trading one for the other. This requires a different mindset than incremental innovation, with new approaches, organization structures, governance mechanisms, behaviors, incentives and reward systems - as well as careful integration within a broader innovation system. This is probably to differcult for you to understand hence your video showed at what capacity you think. So... In laymen terms (would you like a glass of milk and cookies) let's proceed, you find a niche in the market. Let's say... Ah yes, Dry nail polish strips. You manage your funding and you get going and you test the waters and focus on the tree, branches AND the leaves!!! Incoco expanded itself into MLM. Why? Well, it was a business decision years in the making based on methods which lead to the company vision. Anyway, inncoco leaves just a handful of colors and designs to test the market. CS is an amazing company with a solid product patented because it's is unique. It happens to be one of the best in compensation plans offered to their stylist which by the way they treat wonderful. Now go play outside with the rest of the kids and I'll go back being a booming independent color street stylist and celebrate within my sisterhood! Maybe you should take some business courses. You definitely needs some! See ya!

      I don't mean to sound rude, but if people took the time to research, they'd know that the technology of Color Street and the other brand is from the same person! Mr. Fa Park created the nail strip!

  • @dyermichelle
    @dyermichelle 4 ปีที่แล้ว +249

    Incoco was the original product that Fa Park came up with with these nail polish strips. He then decided to transition into the format where we see buying from distributors. The Incoco brand will eventually be fully pulled from shelves as they fully transition to Color Street only. It has been in the works since Color Street began. Yes the price in stores are cheaper but that’s obviously because there is no need to take the individual distributors into account when selling at a standard brick and mortar store. They also haven’t been keeping up with the colors offered in Incoco like they do for Color Street as they have not been putting as much effort into that line in the last year or more.
    I sold for Color Street. They were very upfront with us about this and very upfront with customers who had questions about the 2 brands. I currently am no longer selling. I am not a supporter of MLMs in general but at the same time I don’t think this is the scandal you think it is. It’s always been very well known these 2 brands were under the same company. I never felt cheated out of any money. I enjoyed the color and pattern diversity offered by Color Street. Not really a “gotcha” moment. More a “oh I didn’t realize”.

    • @PrettyH8Mach1n3
      @PrettyH8Mach1n3 4 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      Fucking maddening that he is choosing to move to an MLM format and pulling the retail variety off the shelf. I know I often saw Incoco strips in clearance sections at ulta or Walmart, but those were often the less chic designs.
      I don't see how he couldn't still make a serious profit by just moving all the fancier designs from color street into stores and maybe raising the price a couple of dollars from the 5 bucks Incoco sold for. People would love that now that they know it's quality. Way more ethical than an MLM. But I suppose this will make it feel more "exclusive" than being on walmart or target rack.

    • @merelywords
      @merelywords 4 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      The “gotcha” is that the average consumer being targeted by Color Street doesn’t know about it. I’m not interested in these products, but I have been invited to many online parties. I never knew before watching these types of videos that I could just go to Walmart or Ulta and purchase the “same thing” from the company, and it’s definitely not something I have witnessed a consultant would be up front about (unless asked privately I’m sure.)

    • @cruelworldhappymind
      @cruelworldhappymind  4 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      I agree with @merelywords the reason I made this video is most of the people who colorstreet reps are selling to, or who use incoco and coconut don’t know that the companies are related or have the exact same product.
      Although I’m sure the mlm is a very profitable avenue, I have a hard time believing incoco is going to be pulled from the shelves. I don’t know why, but I feel like that may be something color street reps are told to put them at ease, but it seems this company is focused on as many revenue streams as they can get, but I’m not in the loop on everything so I may be wrong. Only time will tell!

      @ParalegallyLady 4 ปีที่แล้ว +87

      As a Color Street Independent Stylist, this video is full of misinformation.
      They are made by the same company, and Incoco and Coconut are the reasons he was able to create an Mlm and use it to benefit and help the dreams come true for lots of women and men.
      I'm a steady at home mom, and now that I sell Color Street, I make about 1,500 a month. I don't have a team of people under me, I don't make any money off of other people because no one is below me.
      I've sold over 400 sets during this quarantine.
      The company wasn't created for the company to make money, the Color Street model was created to help other people on a path to their dreams the same way he did.

      That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw this. This isn't a secret, before you become a stylist, this is in the fine print that people don't take the time to read. Even though this is a business and you do have to operate it as such. I was not into MLMs; however I was not into MLM's that produce products that harm you.
      It works (tummy wraps are HORRIBLE for you) non approved FDA products also. That one is salesy and they give MLM a bad name now.
      As stylist we teach you all about nail health. I hate salons, I think the fumes are awful and I want my family to stay away from being harmed in them. My mom, sister's, friends. All leave the salon unsatisfied or harmed. All my customers are happy to save money by not going to the salon ESPECIALLY during the pandemic. This is by far the most transparent company and if you aren't a stylist, you don't know that. We have private groups to get info directly from our home office and warehouse which we then relay this info to our customers. I've worked 11 jobs and none of them were transparent. The people who don't understand this are the people from the outside in. And during this pandemic... Most of us are not preying off anyone, we are simply giving them a safer alternative to pretty nails. I have nail techs on my FB and they all support color street. 😂 Some of us want to run a business but can't afford the overhead and this allows us to do that. So why the hell not. Also if you support massive corporations there is a heck of a lot wrong with them.

    My moms best friend started selling for ColorStreet literally 2 weeks after I started my business as a nail Tech. Like, she made a nail appointment with me and then cancelled and a few days later started posting about selling nail strips. My mom and I were super pissed at the timing, and how she was promoting the nail strips. She kept posting things like “Don’t go to the salon and get your nails done, it’s way too expensive” and stuff like that. Why would you start actively dissing nail techs and salon prices right after your best friends daughter started working as a nail tech. She was promoting to the same people that I was promoting my much more legit business to, and one of my clients actually stopped coming to me and started selling under her! I have no issues with the product itself necessarily ( even though as a nail tech I think polish strips look horrible and according to a lot of my clients that have tried them, they don’t last long) but I hate how MLMs turn nice people into jerks

    • @ariaalexandria3324
      @ariaalexandria3324 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I have a business doing custom couture work. If I were to diss people who wanted to learn to sew for themselves, you'd think I was nuts for it. Well, same thing for nails. When we offer things people can technically do for themselves for less, it's on us to figure out how to make us doing it for them more appealing.
      I started doing my own gels (I actually do them very well) because I am not ever remotely a fan of having to go make uncomfortable small talk with someone while they're doing stuff to my hands, and then having to pay for an experience that has never been enjoyable to me. I also started dying my own hair after I got tired of paying well over $100 for stylists to not give me the color I wanted since they thought I'd be happier with a. different shade (when I say I want copper, and show you a pic of myself with that copper, don't give me a deep red and tell me that you thought I'd like that better). I've had both nail people and hair people get pissed at me for doing it myself instead of giving them pay for it, as if they're owed my money, calling me cheap and such. But why pay tons more for what I can do for myself when I don't enjoy having others do it, I don't want to wait for someone else's time, and it's something I ultimately enjoy doing to myself as a bit of self-care? A lot of people are in my boat. The question for you is what can you provide that I can't myself that tops the savings and not having to go in?
      And the same goes in sewing. Only when it comes to sewing, people expect cheap pricing. People see a hair person as worth $80/hr, but if I say I change $30/hr, I'm told that's too much for something someone can learn to do themselves, as if dying hair a straight color is some intricate skill it takes years to learn using super expensive equipment while sewing is something anyone can do as long as they have a needle and thread and there isn't really anything expensive to buy (I've invested over $100k into my machines, forms, and scads and scads of supplies). I once had someone ask me about a few breakdown who then had an issue with my "universal" fee of $10 that covers things like thread and wear and tear on machines that cost thousands each. She said I'd have to buy thread and use my machines anyway, so why was I charging her? There's no getting though to some people like that, so I have to offer something extra to make it more appealing to have me do it over someone doing it for themselves. Unlike you, people more people presume nails are a specialty skill while seeing sewing as something easy and not worth much. I fI have a dollar for every time I saw someone say "You can find a local seamstress to make that cheap wedding dress for less..."
      Complaining about it won't help you. I've been in business 21 years and have seen a lot of people in nails, hair, sewing, other things come and go when they complain that some people learn to do things for themselves. Complaining turns people away. Finding something to make it worth paying for is how we get business. Sometimes those who learn to do it realize that there are some things, like intricate designs, that they can't do, and they appreciate more the work that goes into it and are willing to pay more in appreciation that they learned through a little experience.

      I wonder if this is a case of another company licensing use of a product to relabel as their own. When that happens, it's not unusual for the originator to list that company on their page as way to verify claims made about it. This used to be common with shampoo, where a company would have their page, then a section listing other company names it's sold under, companies they don't own. It's actually a way to undermine those companies. If Incoco owned Color Street why tell people they can get Income for less? Better to let CS people do their thing, then us that to get sales themselves. "Look how great our stuff is! So great that this popular company rebrands our products!"

Aside from the elf costume worn by the representative, there was no effort made to fit in with the rest of the fair, and I wondered if that was because of regulations made by the company.

      You can easily paint your own nails if you use liquid latex on the skin around your nail and clean up the cuticles afterwards with a small cleanup brush dipped in acetone.

I find it incredibly manipulative to try and recruit baristas (who are mostly teenagers) while they're on the clock. Most baristas working for me don't feel like they have the option to turn them away because we are required to be polite to customers. I shut them down for soliciting right away now.

    Color Street is a brand produced by Incoco. It is a true opportunity and an amazing product. Incoco cannot be tried on in a retail situation without purchasing it. My daughter worked at Ulta for 31/2 years and when I showed her Color Street she said, “we sell a similar brand at Ulta, no one buys it. It’s in the back, there are only a few designs. I don’t even think it works! “There is case and point! The magic happens when I apply a 2 finger tester and the customer can touch and see the product in action. It’s jaw dropping. Color Street offers 75 plus styles every season x 4 and is on top of current trends. The retail brands in Ulta & Walmart only offer 12 styles per year! That is not a good selection! Also, at Color Street you get personalized service, can earn the product free and half price, with our party pack of buy 3 get 1 free our price equals Ulta’s or less. It also is a viable business for those who commit to sharing on a regular basis. Thank you for bringing your discovery to light, there are a lot more details that you are not aware of that weigh heavily in Color Streets favor. I for one, would not have paid the price at either store for this product because I can’t demo it to see if it works. The WOW response, from actually watching the in person application, and having the opportunity to test before I buy, is what captures the consumers interest. I’m happy to answer anyone’s questions or provide additional info. Thank you again.

    I've been afraid to see this topic come up on your channel. I'm a Color Street user, and have been for a while. It's honestly one of two nail products that I use that doesn't immediately chip. I'm on week three of my current set, and my only complaint is the growth gap. I'm in 6 Facebook groups for distributors, and they're honestly all so nice. I've never been pressured to buy anything or to join to sell. I love supporting these ladies, but it sucks that it's really an MLM. So I like to buy directly from my ladies' stashes instead and to pay in cash so I know it's going straight to them. I really didn't think there was a problem with the company. But oh well 🤷‍♀️

      There isn’t a huge problem with the company, if that makes you feel better- no false health claims, no terrible founders (that we know of) no major problems with the distributors- the main issue is just that the parent company is selling the same product outside of color street, for cheaper, making it difficult for the mlm distributors to make any real money and competing with their own sales people!

      Beautiful Life by Design - honestly, I used to buy Color Street from a friend and found out later on that I could buy Incoco/Coconut elsewhere for less than half the price. Then I found out it’s the same damn company. I HOPED that my friend didn’t know. When I asked her about it, not only did I find out that she knew but she then proceeded to give me a ton of excuses about how when you buy Color Street you get the benefit of having a “stylist” (🙄) and more variety. I could see if maybe there was a markup just for prints or glitter options but literally the solid color and French tips are still double the price of Incoco and Coconut.
      And as far as the wonderful Color Street variety goes? It honestly doesn’t even matter because they’re always sold out! I go to glitters, more than half of the options are “out of stock.” Solids? Same thing. Patterns? Same thing. Each purchase option you click on, more than half the options are out of stock. First time I saw that I thought maybe stock just replenishes at the beginning of each month, so I go back on the first of the month - nope, still out of stock. I thought maybe it was just my friend’s website that had this issue but when I went to others, I saw the exact same thing. So who cares if there are more options? You can never get your hands on them anyway.
      Even with the constant restock issues, I could see if the quality and functionality of the product was better but it is LITERALLY the same thing. How can you possibly justify such egregious inflation to someone you call a friend? Or worse, to family members? And as far as getting the benefit of having a stylist goes, you are basically there to show me to your website, talk up the product, make suggestions, and explain application. None of those things justify such a dramatic prince increase when I can figure out the less inexpensive version entirely on my own. It’s honestly ridiculous.
      She also tried to tell me that she got in the business to “share her favorite nail product with family and friends” which really felt like a slap in the face. She got in this business to make money. If she truly just wanted to share the product with me and her family members, she didn’t need to become a stylist and sell to us to do it. She could have just told us about it. I don’t care if you want to make money - who doesn’t? Just don’t lie to me about it. Don’t try to make it sound like you’re trying to do me a favor. I have no problem spending my money to support friends with their business. There are friends of mine who run legitimate businesses that I have supported for years. Some of them provide services that are just okay but their pricing reflects that so I’m fine with it. In this case, she straight up took my money despite knowing I could get the same product for much cheaper - she didn’t even give me a heads up that cheaper products existed. So hurt by her actions. I will never buy from her again.
      Your company might be honest with you as a stylist, but stylists sure aren’t being honest with their customers. That’s not okay.

      Incoco/coconut designs are only updated once per year to ensure Color Street stylists have that edge on seasonal releases. If you buy four strips, they come out to around 10$ per set( with tax/shipping), and you are supporting your friend/family that is a stylist with that couple extra dollars spent rather than a large corporation like Walmart. I get the hate towards MLMs, but CS is really a superior product to other nail polish strips and I wish the price point was just a bit lower and that they would nix the in store sister competition, but it is what it is. Most stylists join in order to get the 25% rebate. The others truley make a living off it, so no harm no foul IMO.

The companies kept trying to buy his machine so that’s why he decided to start his own company and not produce for other companies. He was proud of his work and didn’t want to just sell it. Same with the coconut and incoco- they are the older, less durable (why they’re cheaper) versions of the strips that are being phased out.

      @Kat hey, sorry for the late reply, haven't looked at my notifications in ages! Kind of embarrassing, I moved to a new country about 2 years ago, didn't know anyone and wanted to get out and meet new people. Bumble has a BFF option for making friends so I signed up to that. Matched with a girl who seemed super friendly, got to know her, followed her on IG then noticed that she was a district manager in Arbonne (yikes). My first work project was working US hours (I'm in UK), so I worked until 10pm most nights and got home really late. I talked to her about how much I missed normal social hours. She at first started pitching Arbonne and I said no. She sent a tonne of voice notes which I brushed off. She would comment on how much I love travel, noticed that I hadn't posted on insta on so long, if I did Arbonne, I could have enough money to travel again. Said that I preferred body shop. Turns out she was already an ambassador. Weird since she only posts about Arbonne on her insta. Kept trying to invite me to her selling parties and kept trying to get me to buy in and start in bodyshop. Blocked. Then... I think like 3/4 months later, I was on tinder, matched with a gorgeous girl, got to know her, swapped numbers. I was shopping for my mum's bday present and wanted to get her something small since I was redecorating her kitchen for Christmas. She loves bodyshop so I ordered some stuff for her. When I next spoke to X, told her about my mum's bday and she was omg I wish you'd ordered through me, then started sending me pics of her huge inventory, how she also loves the products and loves getting to sell them as her part time job while studying. Kept trying to move the convo on but she started asking which body shop products I use, how much I usually spend so she could calculate the discount she'd give me. I'm a coupon code girl, so when I buy, I bulk buy 🤣 so mama was gonna wait a good 3 months before I ordered anything. When she realised she couldn't sell me products, the conversation switched to, omg so many people in your life love bodyshop, you should do this as a side hustle, you would make so much money, I can refer you, it's only £49 to join the program. She went from a 9 to a -1 real quick. So yeah, actually happened twice. BFF on Bumble is weird though, I once matched with a girl that spent 2 weeks pestering me daily to go to her church 🙃

He decided to sell them in his own and the contracts for the prior two mentioned companies will finally expire soon. Nobody is copying anybody. And yes, the strips are different. He has vastly improved quality and design over the years with his soley owned company, Colorstreet. I use both products and sometimes together. I have discovered a way to save my strips long term and will pair an accent ColorStreet strip with the rest of my nails painted. And some designs are transparent and will apply them over a base nail polish color. I also have trimmed my nails to the perfect length so I can use one strip on two nails. And for some reason (even with base coat and top coat) the Color Street strips will last for two weeks. As much as I hate to admit it, the cost is definitely worth the quality.

    I’m sorry, have any of you ever purchased a generic brand? Most “generic“ products are made by established brands, but packaged differently. It’s no different than this. I wish you would have done more research on this product before making a video about it. Of course they are the same company! The reason I fell in love with Color Street was because of the Incoco nails at Walmart. But they only had five different colors. The same five different colors every time I went. So then I found out, on my own, that they were the same as Color Street. So I started ordering from a rep, then I decided to join! I’m supporting my family with my income from this company and I don’t even have a team under me!!!!! I love the variety of colors and styles with Color Street and that they have new launches with different colors all of the time. Also, just to be clear, it is no secret that Fa Park has these products in Ulta and Walmart. And if people are hesitant about trying Color Street, they should definitely try Incoco. They won’t be on the shelves much longer, and the styles are limited, but it gives you a great idea what the product is about. No secrets here. No lies are being told. No schemes. It’s just a really great nail product. And you don’t have to wait for it to dry! I have been wearing these nail polish strips consistently for over a year now, and I’m still obsessed. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    First off, have you ever had a side hustle having your own business, to help support your own family? It’s hard. It’s work. And the customers, family and friends who buy from Independent Color Street Stylists are buying BECAUSE they want to help support their friends business, and yes, it is a great affordable and consumable product too! Maybe it’s not as cheap as some, maybe it’s an “MLM to some, maybe not everyone is trying to get people to “join their team”. Maybe some are just trying to make some extra income each month to help their families - from home. Think about that. Also, it’s all about how one goes about it. You don’t have to “ruin friendships” or be a salesy person for it to work. You just have to be real. And human.
