I'm a ColorStreet consultant - the best way I've found to revive them is to put hand sanitizer on the sticky back...twice. Put it on once. Let it try for a minute or two. Then, apply again. It will soften and stick on your nail! Found this out when trying to desperately save a set I loved. All I had was hand sanitizer and...it worked!! Try it!

Thank you for doing this video. Very helpful! Thank you for being yourself. I tried watching a few other videos on here about Color Street, I couldn't. The fakeness was too much. I also want to thank you for using the hair dryer method over the heat gun. I thought it was very smart and considerate of you.
I think for the most part, they held up pretty well after a couple weeks. I did mine with actual polish (not cheap stuff-Julep) 4 days ago. The tips have noticeable wear already-with a clear coat. You got yourself a new sub AND I shared this with my girls. Jen, thank you again.

The other ColorStreet reps I’ve seen use the nail polish remover method coated what’s supposed to be the sticky side using a qtip with a copious amount of remover and waited approximately five minutes before applying it to the nail.

The freezer works better Bc cold air is dry air...same thing for why freshly opened coffee beans go in the freezer 😊

I just used the other 1/2 of my pack that was in a ziploc bag for 3 weeks and it worked just like new. I have 2 nails strips left I was going to save. I will toss them in the freezer just to be safe. Thank you. I had fun watching the videos.

As a stylist I have accidentally left mine out and longer than 3 weeks it’s not as easy to use then Bc they get stiff. Also you can use the regular package sleeve the strips come in and heat seal with a hair straightener, traditional iron, lighter or food saver 😊

I use reheat I take it out completely unwrap it. Then I use the blow dryer while it is on my nail they tend to really get more pliable. I do reseal my package with my hair straightener.

I thought of something: painting on nail polish thinner. It shouldn’t break the strips down as much as remover.
    I’ll test this next month.

Holding it over steam with a pair of tweezers (to not burn you) works really well. Using remover and extremely dry heat (hair dryer) doesn’t make sense from a chemistry standpoint 🤔
Also they can’t dry out first and get revived in the freezer...it works to keep them from drying out Bc the strips may seem like stickers but they are actually 💯 nail polish and come 95% dry so they can still bend and mold and shape before they are totally dry (also why it comes with the protective clear top coating you remove before applying)
So it can take a little longer with the top coat and in a baggie left out to dry out but they ultimately will if they aren’t put in the freezer...so the best way to revive strips that are a little too dried out is to rehydrate them (introduce them to moisture...only happens with warm-hot steam)
Extreme heat completely dries them out and remover breaks down the actual molecule to strip it away which is pretty much the opposite of what you want...I love the hand sanitizer on the back tacky part only to revive ...def want to give that a whirl!

What really pisses me off is that I bought some of these and I didn't see anywhere on the instructions where it warned that these would dry out like that. So I literally opened up a pack to use 2 as accents and come back a month later and the rest are all dried out. 🤬 Maybe it was in fine print somewhere and I just missed it. 🧐🧐🧐 I think I'll just go back to OG nail polish. Thanks for the video!

I did the same thing. I actually ruined a whole pack, but I should have known better because the strips are real nail polish. Now I just use one pack at a time till I learn how to seal them. Using a flatiron seems to be the most popular way to go.

Did you check with your stylist to see if she'd replace them for you? I'm a Color Street consultant and I would have done that for my customer. Best way to keep them fresh is to seal it back up with a flat iron. You can revive them by putting some hand sanitizer on the back, twice.

How long do you leave the strips out of the freezer to thaw before you apply the leftover strips?

    • @grfxgrl77
      @grfxgrl77 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Leave out on kitchen counter for 30-60 minutes depending on how warm or cold your house is. They will be just as flexible as when you first applied - if you put them away within a reasonable amount of time. So you can easily test them while keeping them in the plastic. To test, simply put on top of your nail like you are measuring, if they are stiff in any way they are not ready. Try again in 10 minutes.

None of the rehydration ideas work. I understand that dealing them up after will work, but that's not a solution to fix already dried ones.
