    It really depends on the board. Now that the company has invested all these billions into EV tech, they aren't going to want to get a CEO that wants to move away from that. As the market continues to reject EVs here in the states, they really need to be more flexible. It will be an interesting next couple of years for dodge. I've been so close to purchasing a dodge in the past. I honestly don't know if I ever will at this point. I really loved what Dodge had done with what lineup it had. I wanted to see them continue to branch out using the performance foundation, but that just wasn't meant to be as we have all watched them shed that and go in a completely different direction of overcharging, toxic dealers, and ignoring the desires of the U.S. market. I don't have high hopes for the dodge or Chrysler brand at this point. Two active models in Dodge and just one for Chrysler. There are EV startups with a larger lineup of vehicles than those. I'd feel embarrassed if I were a Dodge/Chrysler employee.

    The late Sergio Marchionne was the perfect CEO, European by birth but educated in the USA, he had a strong sense of both markets. Stellantis is a huge conglomerate, maybe too big for their own good, but their market share globally will probably outweigh their interest in the US market. Even if EV mandates are rolled back here, they won't be worldwide especially with half of all Chinese sales going EV. China isnt doing it by mandate either because they are making EVs affordably priced and the cost of fuel makes it an easy choice. The same is true in Europe. The US has been spoiled to lower fuel costs than the rest of the world and that is not sustainable. All that aside, if CDJR falls down but Stellantis other world brands thrive, chances are it will be sold off or allowed to fold. The Hemi was great while it lasted but I think everyone knows it had to end.

Today a nice lady at work who has a manual Challenger and was a big MOPAR fan, finally had enough. She tried to get her late model minivan serviced and had such a horrible experience she wants to ditch everything MOPAR, including her beloved Challenger. So the answer is no. Dodge cannot recover. Did zDodge make a suv before the hornet? Because I can’t remember.
    When l think of Dodge I think of pickup trucks ,utility vehicles and muscle cars.
    MAYBE releasing the Hornet under Chrysler would have worked better?
    The Hornet design is conservative ,like a VW. SUV. Probably not what a Dodge customer is looking for but a Chrysler customer would be interested. But l think a Chrysler customer would want the name and logo on the cat and not the Dodge.
    The Hornet is one plain Jane vehicle. I saw them when I took my 2022=Challenger in for an oil change last month.
    Just a plain Jane look.
    I think Dodge customers want a sporty looking suv.
    I think the Cadillac Escalade is ugly as heck.
    And people just gobbled it up.
    High end brands like BMW ,Cadillac and Mercedes seem to sell everything with their logo on it. And their customers eat it up like candy. Their designs become dated almost before you finish the payments.
    I think some people just buy a car for the high end logo on the grill.
    I never liked the second Challenger body and the Hornet really has a GENERIC look.
    We’ll see how the new six pack and Charger EV’s will do once they are on lots to test drive.
    LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR REPORT FROM ARIZONA ON NEW CHARGERS PERFORMANCE.
    I BET THEY GO THROUGH TIRES FAST.

    I think the damage has been done. None of the foreign brands under the Stellantis umbrella have ever been successful in the US market. They will likely pull their next CEO from amongst those brands. That will take 6 months to get online. In meantime, nothing substantial will change. Even if the CEO slot is occupied sooner, odds are we will still see the same losing anti-US marketing outlook from their leadership. They don’t know anything else and they would rather fire sale all the US brands than admit a change is needed. There’s a reason those European brands are sales proof in the US. Their leaders are arrogant and have no clue or appreciation for the US brands.

    What these clowns don't understand is that car buyers can get small, boring cars from many manufacturers and that's not what Dodge is known for. The cars that were selling were what Dodge is known for, great performance cars. The EPA is not blameless by any stretch of the imagination and they are going to get DOGED.

    These companies still suck. What's the difference? The Charger/ Challenger didn't SAVE the company's, only Dodge.
    Let's not forget how they got bought up in the first place. This isn't going to change anything, if it just goes back to the 'good ol days'.
    All this crying from "enthusiasts" may end up screwing everything. Y'all better BUY, whatever they come up with.

    Stella NA sales/profits live and die with RAM and Jeep.
    Boring trucks/SUVs are where the volume and profits are.....huge mistake going upscale on RAM/Jeep.

    CT was worried about shareholders and making profits he didn't care about cars, Stellantis as company seem to be the same way. So as long as CDJR is apart of them they'll need an open minded CEO that allows them to do their own thing.

    It’s not that Americans don’t want EV’s. I totally disagree there! They just don’t want EV’s from Ford, Dodge, Chevy, etc. especially for 50k plus! To be honest, most cars aren’t selling right now due to the economy and inflation. The whole muscle car, V8 crowd is a small group compared to the masses! Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for super car, Hyper cars and even Muscle cars keeping the engines or going hybrid. I’m just saying you are foolish if you think EV’s are just going to go away! Tech doesn’t go backwards and the US is already behind!

      Ev will never be cheap just because of the way they are build to much costly material. Copper lithium, semiconductor in mass. Ev will be only for a specific market plus our energy source for the electric grid will never going to be able to handle a higher number of cars.

    • @ryanfraley7113
      @ryanfraley7113 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@simonbrunet5605It’s actually just as expensive to frack oil, the issue is that oil is heavily subsidized by the government. If that subsidy is stripped, gas goes to close to $6 a gallon. If we’re going to cut off EV subsidy, the same treatment needs to happen with big oil.

    • @eldiablort1461
      @eldiablort1461 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ryanfraley7113you realize if you do that, the gas engine wins right?
      The competition would be wide open with the government out of the way: it would be a free for all. The subsidies were a way to give the feds control over the market. If you have an actual free market, the price of oil would decrease, as that would put less control of prices in OPEC’s hands.
      The cars? Cheaper to manufacture, cheaper to source, and you can build them faster. But cars aren’t even first in the list for fracking needs. Home energy topples the car needs quite a bit.

    • @ryanfraley7113
      @ryanfraley7113 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@eldiablort1461 That would be more likely to create a Standard Oil situation again. There’s already existing precedent in the market that shows what would happen. We wouldn’t have a free market, we would have a monopoly. Also look what what happened with Scott Sheffield and Pioneer Natural Resources, that’s an example of a modern oil executive who got caught manipulating the market red handed.
