The fox keeps trying to get at the grapes because he really wants to eat them and they look delicious, but he keeps flubbing every one of his attempts to get the grapes, so he says, "Meh! The grapes are probably sour and they suck anyway!"

Someone who worked with a shelter here. We give animals for free (of course, after an interview to be sure the new owner can properly care for it), they're all neutered and healthy, but if you come with a list of requirements we will be wary of you and will require even more proof regarding your ability to care for said pet.
Example: Susan comes asking for a small dog because she lives in an apartment, preferably one that knows to pee in those mats. Usual paperwork, normal interview. Susan will probably get a couple of visits during the trial period (as it's our standard) and she will probably get her dog within a month. Karen contacts us demanding a male siamese or ragdoll, 2 week old kitten, neutered, litter trained, affectionate, who likes laps and interacts well with kids. Interview will be longer with questions similar to "you have a very specific animal in mind, would you mind telling me why? Is there a story behind it?" And we will enforce the paperwork's five visits.
Usually huge requirements are the first sign of a person who will return the animal if they dislike any little behavior, and unless someone is just hesitant because of a bad previous adoption we will try our best to make the person rethink adopting.
Plus, tiny animals can and usually do change personality when growing up. If someone wants a cuddly cat or dog they must get one that's at least 6 months.
TLDR: if you come with a huge requirement list for adopting a pet we will try our best to stop you from getting the pet because they might be the best fit for you but you're probably not the best fit for them.

    • @rigelestbit
      @rigelestbit 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@elhazthorn918 and you're right! We tell everyone that if they don't want the pet after all to please return it and also talk it out with us, no matter how long ago they adopted. Some people take puppies and return them as adults because it's too much trouble and they lost the "puppy appeal" (these are usually blacklisted and cant adopt from us anymore), some people lose homes or are moving and we offer options for sheltering pets if it's just temporary, but also there's always an asshole or two that just leave their adopted pets on the streets instead of calling us. Even with the long adoption process and we telling them to please contact us if they don't want the pet anymore, there were at least 3 animals that were adopted and abandoned and we found them later. I wonder how many we *don't* find out in time :(

The tip jar one, I can relate to. I owned a coffeeshop and would work the morning shift from 7:00am to 11:00am alone, with my mother in the back doing the baking and food prep. At 11:00am, my lunch crew would come in (2 girls) and one would work lunch (11:00am - 2:00PM) and the other would work until 4:00PM until the second shift would come in and relieve myself and the other girl. I had a rule that when I worked with someone, I would not take tips - the girls got it all, because I was the owner. So at 11:00am, I would empty the tip cup and that was mine and everything else to the end of day would be theirs. One morning, I forgot to empty the cup at 11:00am, and there was a lot of money in it - we had a busy morning. At about 11:30am I mentioned it to the girls and said I forgot to empty the cup before they started and went to empty it. They were livid. "I thought you said when we worked with you that you wouldn't take any tips?" Yes, that is true but this was money from before you came in. They didn't care - they said that it was theirs. I laughed, and just said whatever and let them have it, even though they weren't even here when the tips were put in. Just for reference, it was only about $18-$25, but it was the principal of the thing.

I know my friend is pretty lazy and LOVES to procrastinate, so I chose to do 7 out of the 10 slides, which I completed by the first day. 1 hour until the presentations start and my friend realizes that he had only done 1 of the 3 slides and starts BEGGING me for help, while I'm making up a math quiz because I was sick on the day of the quiz. All those hours I thought he was working he was just playing video games. Kinda came back to bite him though, as the principle herself confiscated his laptop about 2 days later.

I gotta be honest, I used to help everyone out, from age 11-12 to 19 I gave up my childhood and raised rich people's kids while getting absolutely nothing needed for my effort except lessons on drinking nightly and doing pills. I swear it got me used to being walked all over and acting like it was gratifying. Afterwards it just continued, I was used left and right.
I took care of myself well but when I came into medical issues it lead to homelessness and inability to bounce back.
Because of all the CB's, there is absolutely no help for those who really need it.
I try daily to not harden my heart but, WHO RAISES THESE PEOPLE?

I've done it. It's gold. Whilst speaking to this incredibly rude woman about some records I was selling, and which she wanted to pay less than half the amount I had advertised them at, I got fed up with her, and said that I had a call on my other phone. Knowing she could hear, I pretended to sell those records to the other 'caller', for the full amount. The rude woman screamed abuse at me, saying that the records were hers. I replied that, as she had no intention of paying full whack, they were not hers, and hung up, and immediately blocked her number.
The only way to treat people like that.
I sold the records to a collector a few hours later.

I draw adult stuff, and i can not tell you how hard it is. Like already drawing two people hugging can be hard, now add even more areas of contact way more poses and then making sure the prespective is right for both people in the drawing.
In short smut is exspensive for smut is really hard to draw and make it look good.

I hate people that judge artists based on experience. Like, first of all, to be a good artist to begin with, that person has probably put in work towards their art there entire life. So if that person is let’s say 20, they’ve probably been practicing for at least 10 years if not more. There’s your experience. Just because they’ve only been taking commissions for 2 years does not mean they’re an inexperienced artist, especially if you can see how good their art is. 🙄

When I worked at Office Depot in Glen Burnie MD, one of the managers was just weird. She kept bleeding all up and down her forearms from messing with the copy machine and she expected employees to bandage her up. No ma’am, I did not! Being the shift manager, there were never any write ups of her injuries and they seemed to be getting worse.
A customer took a liking to me. He’d peek in the break room and bring me a latte from the Starbucks on the corner at the start of my breaks, so I’d sit with him on my break. Manager saw this and received anonymous roses at work. Again, it was weird, but I ignored that and said, “I bet they were from ur bf. SO pretty!”
Vet cashiers were asked to help new cashiers for BTS. It’s basically Office Depot’s Christmas, so we went from maybe 5 cashiers on payroll to about 30 and us 5 had to catch up the other 25, while we all made the same wage. Some newbs got paid more than vets.
I come in for my shit and that weird manager says, “Sign this. (No! What is it?) One o the girls u trained was eating on shift. (So write her up) You trained her. Sign it or go home.” I went home. I called corporate and was told that weirdo had seniority and that I should not come back to the store as an employee. Wow!
A few mos later, I go to buy a laptop from there. They tell me weirdo got fired for dipping in the till. Really? I thought she’d get workmans comp. The credit wouldn’t get approved, so I pulled a paper out of my handbag and announced, “I just bought a new car, so u can see right here that my equafax is 830. Oh, I’ll just use my debit. (Ya sure?) Yeah man, since I left here, I’m finally paid what I’m worth. I’m real good.”
I wasn’t doing that good IRL as a full time college kid working 40+ a week. I had to live off potato chips for almost 2 weeks, but I ain’t mess up my credit. I just felt compelled to make a point. Let em keep the weirdo till they catch her stealing. Lil ole me was doing fine and dandy in the sunshine, right?!
