I still agree with the idea that people should make a subreddit where they take the jobs, but only do the worst job imaginable, and report the results.
long as its not done with the kids id be ok with that lol. dont punish the child for their parents being cheap assholes
hopefully with no kid things involved, just dont want kids getting tortured
They take the job just to quiet quit it? Sounds like a good plan
I‘d join the sub
@@commanderriker1198I wanna see how many jobs you can take at the same time. Of course this only works if they allow you to work from home.
But imagine getting paid by 5 or 6 employees but doing the absolute bare minimum and a piss poor job at that. Sounds like a win. Pay would also probably be reasonable with the third job.
Thats r/maliciouscompliance, duh
My best friend gave me a Claddagh ring as a friendship ring before she died (she had a matching one). Depending on the orientation of how it is worn and what hand reflects your relationship status. My husband didn't buy me a ring; he asked me to marry him as he switched the position of my ring.
I cried and thought it was really sweet because I only explained how the rung worked once, and he, who has a notoriously terrible memory, remembered.
I told my boomer coworker, and she called him cheap. I said she was one to talk, seeing as for Christmas gift exchanges, she didn't buy anything but used the event as an excuse to unload some of the hoard of shit she had in her apartment off on other people.
She was not amused.
Sounds like you're getting the pre-owned pizza box this Christmas.
@@sylvrwolflol should have said *ex-coworker haha (I have since left that job), and I said this to her in February. Besides, a used pizza box would be easier to get rid of than all the crap I got from her the one time she did get me for Secret Santa.
That has got to be one of the cutest proposal stories I've heard! The top has to be that my dad threw the ring in my moms lap and ran because he was so scared. They've been married since 83'.
That's such a great proposal story! Back in college, I saved up enough while delivering pizzas part time to buy an engagement ring for about $150. She adored it. Later we swapped it with a ring handed down by my mother (it took us a while to afford the wedding - which itself was also done on a very limited budget with the most expensive parts being the wedding rings, but it was beautiful and a lot of fun). Money and price aren't important when it's love.
I'm happy for people happy with marriage but it isn't something I'll probably ever partake in. Marriage feels too pointless for me personally cause in my mind if I love someone I don't need marriage to prove it or be with them.

Okay, so you're admitting your son is a manchild and his wife is basically going to be a replacement mother for him. Weird flex, but you do you.
I chose to believe he’s gay/asexual and happy with his hobbies but his mom thinks she can fix him if she finds the right woman

That one actually reads like a practical joke.
Yeah, I noticed that too. If he does find a woman and gets married, she'd probably be posting on R/Just no MIL within a year.
I love when people are like "I won't pay you but we'll tell these and these special people about you." The fact that you'll rather do this than pay me a measly few dollars means that you are so down with money that these special people don't care about you or your reccomendations.
"I won't pay you but you know what's worth more? We'll tell our 2, that's right TWO whole followers about how cool you are? :D"
I wont pay you but ill let everyone know that if they are even slightly popular then they can expect free stuff from you... Im sure that will do wonders for your business
@@ectothermic - And as we know, followers no matter the number mean crap, as was pointed out with regards to having X'000s of followers on places like Twitter aint going to get someone following someone else.

@@Ryanthusar Exactly. I don't know about others but there has been one and yes ONE time when I took someones reccomendation to look at someones creations, content etc.
I never understood the expensive engagement ring trend. If my partner and I were at a point in our relationship where we could and wanted to get married (and I love him with my whole heart and soul, so I hope we will), he could go into my jewelry box and propose to me with a ring I already own and I would still be dang thrilled. It should be about the person, not about the thing.
honestly same, he bought me a 200$ ring and i got upset, i really don't care about expensive rings, he can literally find a stray cat as an engagement gift and i'd be so happy
@@imtheblurryone I am right there with you! The image of a person proposing with a stray cat is utterly delightful, by the way.
@@imtheblurryone i now want to be proposed to with a stray cat
Engagement rings were basically made up by the jewelry industry when the price of diamonds collapsed during the 1930s.
It's not like spending a fortune on them is an ancient tradition.
Not sure about the stray cat though, unless you're also intending to adopt it for life.
I love the stray cat idea! As for rings, I want one that comes from the plastic bubbles in .50 grocery store vending machines
Even a grand for hand crocheted article can be too little. Craftsmanship like this often costs thousands of dollars and honestly they deserve it.
Yeah, I was gonna say, they're charging less than a dollar per hour of work, since the cost of the materials is included in the final price (as they should be, good quality yarn and materials aren't cheap)
If they charged $8 per hour, and didn't charge for the materials, that alone would be $1,200.
And even $8 an hour would be under charging imo.
@@lindseyherbst9444 yea but I bet you this is just their hobby they do on the side.
Yarn etc is expensive and noone will buy custom stuff for $1000+ if you are not known.. hence it will lie arround and more wool will still be needed for the next project. They dont want to profit of it yet still want to get their hobby going.
They will do this granny style while watching TV or similar in the evening/when they feel like it next to their job/kids.
I’ve had someone say my hand drawn highly detailed drawing, A1 size, being £500 was too much. Literally if I charged minimum wage per hour of labour to make it I’d be charging thousands!
I'm hearing you.
My Mum was an avid crocheter. She used to attend small local craft fairs and exhibitions. As a backdrop for her pitch she'd use what she felt was one of her best pieces ever, a fine cotton bedspread.
A chap once asked how much she's take for it though it wasn't actually for sale. She asked him to make an offer and he said "It's easily worth £50." (we're Brits)
She tells him that that wouldn't cover the materials, it represented over a thousand hours of work and would he care to revise his offer.
He just walked away.
In the end she had to make another. She showed it to a neighbour who greatly admired it and told her she needed to make another.
On asking why that would be, my Mum was told "If you don't then your sons' wives will fight over it", even though we were still kids at the time.
My Mum's neighbour was wise. My brother and his wife have one. I'm not married but the one I have is treasured by my GF.
I don't think either gets used much because of how utterly(!!!) irreplaceable they are.
Ah yes the paid in exposure bs. Not just sketches but writers too it seems. It's amazing how obnoxious people get when they think they have the smallest bit of power over someone.
Someone asked me to make a WEDDING DRESS in exchange for exposure. The materials alone for what they wanted were going to be $400+. Not even counting the time it would take to make it. Like. No. All of the no. Wtf?

I love it when editor's chime in, it's like a god peeking through the clouds.
The person who responded to the Instagram person wanting to eat at the restaurant and review it who said that "You have as much of a right to review my restaurant as I have to review your menstrual cycle" had said that, because although it shouldn't have to be said it's disrespectful to review another's menstrual cycle, her entitlement was as if she was wanting to review a part of the restaurant owner's own person, as I assume they probably feel as that this is their life's work.
She was basically asking for a FREE meal and by giving it FREE she would review the restaurant. That is how she was being disrespectful, what is funny is for all its known is that the person that replied back to her could very well have been female. However you can bet there is much more to that story as well, who knows what took place at the place before that post was put up.
Yeeeah look anyone has the right to go into a restaurant and leave a public review of that restaurant, because a restaurant is a public thing. I post restaurant reviews all the time. I don't ask for money and freebies because I am a nobody, and hundreds of people are not going to make their decision on whether or not to eat at this restaurant based on my review alone - restaurants invite influencers in order to get a review from someone who will hopefully *influence* hundreds of people to try the restaurant. But anyone can leave a review. If your restaurant is so tied up with your self-worth that you can't stand reviews, honestly, you should just cook for your own family instead.
I sincerely believe the restaurant owner from that post was just pissed that a freeloader approached them acting like they owned the restaurant and the restaurant owed them food for being a self-proclaimed 'influencer' - they just worded it in a way that's kinda strange and confusing (though also original and striking, so there's that.)
@@trishapellis
what's annoying is if you are someone with considerable pull/notoriety that you could *potentially* convince a crowd of people to [not] go to that restaurant. some random influencer? nah... major food critic, chef, etc...? absolutely.... coordinated efforts could also be utilized.
i wouldn't write reviews off as no big deal though. for a fledgling business in particular, they *can* be devastating. it's not just insecurities about self-worth, they can be [and have been] weaponized. in this case, probably not much to worry about.
Nah, the response was sexist and disproportionate. If the owner has such fragile ego he can't handle a review of his restaurant then he should just never leave his house and never interact with the outside world. It's a vital part of democracy and free market to choose where you spend your money and review what other people demand money for. And he weirdly focused on the review part, not the actually pertinent entitlement so that's very telling.
They still have 100% right to review smething. It is a PUBLIC place.
If she meant like USING this to try and get free food, ect. then i get it thou the example is still rude.
For the one at 10:30 working minimum wage of $7.25 per hour for 150 hours is just under $1100. So she's out here making people stuff for WAY less than minimum wage and they still act like that
Yeah really. If I asked for something, like a small blanket let’s say, and she priced me at $200? I would insist on giving her way more. Handmade stuff like that is really really time consuming. And most of the time it comes out amazing. I would offer like $500
"I am selling this thing I made specific for you for $200."
"I'll give you $500, thank you very much."
@@marshalmichelney-bc8qn I agree with this especially after learning how long it can take
A bit below $1 an hour is actually fairly normal for those kind of deals. They dont make those offers for the money, it is their hobby and they just do this at the side. One order takes a month while they do it next to watching TV or similar.
Yes, they should be way more expensive, but they see it as a hobby to relax and fund the yarn/wool that way.

It's weird to me when people demand compensation for food because I have been served food with LITERAL PIECES OF METAL in the food and my only concern was letting the restaurant know so that it didn't happen to anyone else. "Mercerized" cotton thread or yarn is 100% cotton but has been through extra processing beyond just cleaning. It strengthens the thread, making it wear out/break less over many washings, makes it more receptive to the dye color & gives a smooth feeling semi-gloss finish. The process makes it better to use when making many kinds of items, but it does make the thread/yarn cost a bit more of course. If you're only buying a little to make a couple items you might think the difference in price of a few cents per yard is no big deal, but for someone having a business making many items that means that the cost of supplies goes up a lot when they're buying in bulk.
Since she's talking about crocheted clothing items, you'd want all natural fibers (cotton, wool, silk, etc) rather than polyester or poly blends because that will just be scratchy against skin.

Sort of funny story similar to the returning food after you ate it all. Once, I was with some buddies at a Mexican restaurant, and several of us got a large horchata. I REALLY like horchata, but this time around it tasted kinda funny, a little sour. I noticed it and my friends noticed it. It was kind of like a cream cheese sour, and I actually really liked it.
Turns out they didn't clean the old batch out when they made the new one (it was really late and it was 24-hrs restaurant), and offered us all a new, fresh horchata. I refused, because I REALLY like the slightly sour horchata, much to everyone's (especially the staff) horror and kept drinking it. Well, even after I drank mine, they still insisted on giving me a second, free horchata, and those things were HUGE.
I was happy. Everyone else was far more grossed out than they should. The next day I had slight indigestion and that was all I suffered. 11/10, would drink sour horchata again.
35:52 Editor Kenny I love you that was fucking hilarious

To all content creators and influencers: If you aren't successful enough to pay an employee, you aren't busy enough to need one.
1:09 Chip is a shortened term for a high school in the area, so they have no problem hiring a high schooler to work as a receptionist AND a daycare worker for their “range” of $11-14/hour…
I recently started crocheting and the time it takes is no joke. I’m making some stuff for a 1/4 scale model and it took me easily 6 hours today to make about half the hood of what will be a full length cloak. It’s going to take at least a week’s worth of free time to make something that is 1/4 the size of a piece of human clothing, and I had to stop today because my fingers went numb from the repetitive wrist motion. I can’t even imagine spending years getting good at it, buying all the materials, working for essentially $1 an hour to make a completely custom piece, and then having the person complain about the cost.
As someone who has lost a fair bit of weight quickly once (a little over ten or so pounds in about a month, I think?) it was not fun. I wanted to lose the weight for quite some time, but losing it made me realize my current weight is what’s healthiest for me.
I lost it during my schools musical. They only had one pair of pants for my costume that was the right size for my legs, unfortunately, the waist was a bit over two inches smaller than I needed. They couldn’t do any adjustments to said pants so I needed to keep those on for rehearsals, dance numbers, really all of the time. I did have a costume change, but those pants were just as tight around the waist.
I couldn’t eat, it restricted me to the point where I couldn’t eat in costume because the slightest change in my stomach would be unbearable, so I just didn’t.
I already have low iron, so I was consistently dizzy, and when I wasn’t wearing my costume I couldn’t eat as much as my body needed because I just didn’t have the appetite anymore.
TL;DR, Robin is right, losing weight with minimal effort can be awful. And caused me several head injuries due to lightheadedness.
Taking expensive things for free is amazing.
no
Editor, I must say, we all here respect your craft! I literally almost broke my jaw laughing at this NO omg)))
okay, about the crochet clothes, honestly she's right. i don't sell my crochet and if i did i would only sell plushies and bags because the one time i decided to crochet a pullover it took me a literal month. i imagine it would take less if it was my full-time job and i had 8 hours a day to sit down and crochet, but also you physically cannot crochet for 8 hours straight every single day because it can very seriously injure your hands and wrists with the repetitive motions, and crochet specifically has the added point that it can't be done by machine at all, every single stitch must be done individually by hand. it takes 2 hours to make something that can fit inside my hand. imagine a full article of clothing.
The post about the handmade crochet actually made me realize how addicted we are to our industrialized production. Our wages and costs are so adapted to what running machines cost, that it has become entirely infeasible to make good manually and still charge reasonable prices.

Honestly I really like the idea of the Buy Nothing groups, even if it does have some weird stuff on there. My Mom has an old iPad she might get rid of, and we have a few old monitors around the house. If I saw that I might take the time to go down there and drop it off. About that ring situation, I agree with Robin (as a female). My mother bought the wedding rings for her and my father. She said she got the set (I think of 3 rings) of rings for under R4000. (approximately 214, 70 USD). But then again, she bought it in like.. The year 2004. But still.

Military discounts are weird too. It’s a job. They choose it.
to be fair, there's a concentrated brainwashing/indoctrination effort to make people enlist. not to mention a horrible economy to force their hands. and the draft always *could* be exercized like it was for vietnam. i've personally never necesarrily questioned the discount, but i do wonder how many guys have simply requested one and that's it, discounted. seems to me that the rare occassion someone orders from my club's food booth and requests the discount, that we just... do it.
all that said, probably stems from our uhm...culture of "respect our troops/veterans/fallen". quite possibly also the fact that we basically do NOT take care of our veterans, some so unfortunate to become homeless in addition to various wounds/scars inflicted upon them in war.
I mean-Ngl people that risk getting shot At probably deserve something after leaving even if it is just a 10% discount or whatever

I've had a messed up drink at Starbucks at least three times. I've never drank any because it was either not my taste or dangerous. I'd always try to speak up as soon as possible despite being an absolute doormat and a people pleaser. I asked immediately once because the lady forgot to change the milk to oatmilk. It's not just a preference of mine but I'm also lactose intolerant which makes it worse. So I immediately went to the cashier as soon as I noticed the inconsistency in the bill. And the cashier was super apologetic. Since the drink was half made they were able to salvage it. Another time they straight up made another drink. My drinks of choice are very simple. An iced or hot small latte with oatmilk. And the guy handed me an americano. I told him he messed up. He read on the cup and made a new drink. The third time I got really pissed. The lady mistook three of the same drinks as frappuccinos and added whipped cream on them. I tried to ask the lady which kind of whipped cream she used on top. She didn't answer me or didn't understand me for some reason. And offered to do a new drink all together. The other lady said to just take out the whipped cream and it was all good. I would've drank it as is if it didn't have milk in it. Since I can't drink it! I think it also happened on my birthday. What a good day to have.
honestly what surprises me most is how many of those people put their addresses on their original post :P
like if i lived nearby i'd totally print out the post and just put it up on the street next to their house so people can judge :'D
Editor Kenny is best character
Love the missed censor at 19:43... emkay needs to release MORE of their stuff uncensored (though I admit the sound-effect and word-substitution censorship can be funny too)
1:55 As one of the girls, I can say I definitely don’t care about how much money is spent on a ring. Like shit I don’t even want a diamond in mine if I ever get engaged. Just a gold basic ring. Honestly I don’t care about the ring, if ring is only thing you care about when getting engaged and then married…maybe it’s not the ring that’s the problem☠️
Agreed on everything you just said.
And I personally just don’t think a big diamond ring would be practical, like how the heck you do anything?? Wearing gloves or getting stuck on towels etc
16:15 As someone from a military family that utilizes the military discount, my active duty father would NEVER request a military discount when making purchases like this. How humiliating for that buyer.
18:12 imo this isnt terrible, of course im always scared of asking for more when ive already asked for a favor, but i think if this was just worded better it would be more clear.
"hey, thanks for the eggshells! if its not too much trouble, would you mind rinsing them too next time? thanks so much."
just seems like an older person not quite understanding tone over text
15:50 my dad works in the air force and he wouldn't even ask if there was a discount because he just found it weird.

Female here ✋
And honestly, I don’t care if my boyfriend proposes to me with a Ring Pop, it would be funny as all heck!!!
As long as the wedding ring looks cool and lasts, I really don’t care how much it cost.
I often see this homeless woman on the street where my dad works. Sometimes after school I would go to this shop to buy myself or my siblings something. In this case, I went to Subway to get myself some lunch and had an extra £1 as change. I saw the woman sitting outside a Tesco and decided that she would need it more than I did. I walked up to here and gave it to her. She immediately asked for more, so I gave her a 20 pence coin and left. I never gave her a single penny after that. Seems petty, but I cant stand people who ask for more after I give them something. Mind you I was 13 at the time and not making any money besides what my parents give me.
Babe wake up, new r/choosingbeggars video just dropped.
Holy cheapskates
4:02 Sounds like their Tinder profiles kept getting reported so now they're begging for a "roommate."
"We're looking for a hybrid office worker/childcare assistant" is a funny way of saying, "I don't want to pay for a secretary AND daycare, so I figured I could lump the jobs into one and pay them half as much!"
@13:00 People shouldn't be allowed to deny strangers access to their homes to use the pool the owner pays for and maintains. People shouldn't be allowed to have cars unless they leave the keys inside so strangers who don't own a car can freely use it whenever they want. People shouldn't be allowed to have more than one set of clothes unless they allow strangers to come inside their house whenever they want and borrow any clothes at any time. People should be allowed to have things unless everyone else in the world can have access to use those things.
Also, 100% this bitch is the kind that would let her kids run wild in a pool, not pay any attention to them, have one get hurt or even drown, and then blame/try to sue the pool owner who wasn't home and never gave them permission to be there.
My parents got silver rings with garnets, because frugality. Married for over three decades and one of the most solid relationships I've ever seen.
That's the relationship goal. Not wasting money on vanity...

“Choosed” 💀
dang that bit about going above and beyond with what you have and can offer hits home specifically in the video game’s i play sometimes the games have stuff like alliances or guilds or whatever and no matter what i do or how active i am i often find myself still getting kicked out and replaced and yeah maybe my progression is not as fast as others but i am talking about those games that practically force pay to win content down your throat daily and me not having the money to spend on games means that my progression is going to be alot slower then everyone else one game i actually quit last week i had spent at least 5 hours playing it when there was other stuff i could of been playing to help out the alliance i was in and when i went to sleep after being sleep deprived just to play the game i woke up the next day to find myself kicked out and replaced despite the amount of time i spent on that game working to help out i think alot of games with groups and teams dont value people like me that put in so much daily effort and time trying to help out
1:47 as a wedding anniversary gift? Debatable. As a wedding proposal gift, no, I'm not propose to you with $3k to $6k ring
13:30 beaches do get tested. i think because in blackpool pretty recently there was a sewage leak into the sea and they tested the water multiple times and shut it off when it wasnt safe. dont know how it is in america tho

My aunt is a doctor. When i stayed at her house for 2 weeks, i heard her say "i don't know what to do with all these overweight people who don't wanna excercise. All they want is medication and supplements".
Man shits hitting hard lately. Between seeing something on my favorite show where these two characters who lost it all basically find a bonding moment in it with the message "you're not alone" and repeatedly finding things that show others who went above and beyond and got burned for it... My experience happened over 7 months ending in December and I've spent the last week recovering from a self destructive state from it. My point in all that is a combo of "it's nice to know in the worst of things I'm not alone" and passing the message of "if you're going through or have been through this, i hope you understand you're not alone" ❤
27:00 food photography isn't REAL food! It's all practical effects to make it look better or last under the harsh lights for however long the photo shoot takes.
@30:00 Forget consistency for your kids, you should be concerned with their safety for anyone who would take a job watching 4 very young kids, including a newborn infant, for a full-time job for well under minimum wage. Anyone who would take this job for that pay, which is almost at cost to the nanny in whatever it costs in transport, is crazy.
I HATE when people say "don't comment XYZ" when they make a public post on the internet. If you can publicly be stupid on the internet, we can call you out on it. Also, it's not mean to point out how dangerously low that pay is and what kind of person would take it, and to help her in her search and get her kids back sooner, and to help her kids safety.
I've finally left fast food! But we would get people who would eat the entire burger and then demand a new one because the first one was made incorrectly(had pickles when it was supposed to be taken off, no ketchup, whatever), or would eat a bite or two and come up because it's wrong and refuse to give it to us to be thrown away. Shits wild
I've called places before after going through a drivethru to let them know about major food defects so they could fix them before entitled customers complain, but I've never asked or accepted anything in return.
I still give them maximum rating with the receipt survey though.
People who try to get crap for free after eating the thing by being angry at food workers need to be put on a shadowban list where their card gets "declined" and they can only use cash to pay.
Crocheter here! It's so hard to pay yourself appropriately. I make custom cup cozies. It can take anywhere between 2-6 hours to make a single one. And after all the material's cost, I'm barely making $3-$4/hour for most cozies. And on top of it all, crochet is very gatekeepy with how you should price your own projects. My stuff goes for $15-$25 depending on how intricate/complicated the design is and even though I've been to ONE event, I had so many people there tell me that "I would like to buy your stuff, bUt It'S tO eXpEnSiVe".
You can look and buy, you can look and compliment, you can even just look and leave, BUT STOP TELLING FIBER ARTISTS THAT ITS TOO EXPENSIVE! Our work ≠ your budget.
People just might be embarrassed at not buying and this is just their clumsy way to deal with it.
3:23 The fact that they ended with "Please no hate comments" seems to me like they know what they're asking for is insane
30:50 I wonder how the court would react to seeing that post
14:18 the recipient should have said "curse you and curse your children". 😉

"Up and coming" is code for "a nobody" and people need to learn that fast. You are not famous till you get to the point of being that rich you do not need to ask for free things (and even that is a low bar).
Editor Kenny being an Ereshkigal appreciator is itself appreciated!
