Coach Adrian talks about how to stop being needy and desperate in a relationship or after a breakup. If you need to know how to stop being needy and desperate, you probably understand that there are relationship patterns, and that breakups happen for a reason.
Many of the breakups that we see in coaching sessions happen when people don't know how to stop being needy in a relationship. They live exclusively through their relationship, they think and breathe for their ex, they stop doing the things that made them inspiring to begin with, and unfortunately, end up becoming a burden to their ex. This is why breakups happen.
What you need to understand is you will not inspire the person you love from a place of weakness, desperation, and vulnerability. You cannot convey that it is in their best interest to take you back if you talk about how sad you are, how desperate you are, and how broken you are by the fact that they are no longer with you. It's not appealing. You cannot guilt trip someone into taking you back.
So stop telling them how much you love them. Do not write a love letter to your ex. Do not text them telling them that you miss them, love them, and want to be with them, because you will push them away.
What you need to do is to find yourself again. You need to challenge yourself to be happy with your ex. You need to knock them off that pedestal for yourself. Because it's the only way that you will inspire them to want to be with you.
If you want to know how to stop being needy and desperate, first, acknowledge and accept that you have been needy and desperate, second, find the mental strength and fortitude to pull away, and not let the fear of losing them take over, and not be so afraid to lose them that you start to compromise who you are, and start doing things just to impress them. Your focus needs to be on how to impress yourself.

Unfortunately I pushed my ex to the point of blocking me on everything. She was my first girlfriend and my behavior was obviously desperate towards the end of our friendship after we dated. I know this video is 3 years old. Me and my ex still loved each other after the break up. It's complicated. We never truly did the no contact. All I did was stop caring and live my life. We are now working on getting back together. Slowly my advice don't go into the friend zone don't completely cut them off. Just let them feel you will move on even if you don't want to. Change be positive about yourself. Don't let them control all your time. If you were good together then you can be good together again. Wish me luck...
I tortured my self for a couple of years about an ex when I was younger. One day I realized I was wasting my time. I just stopped calling. She never called me so I knew my assumptions were correct. Turns out it was a good thing to do. Within weeks I started feeling better and I just let it go. I got my self confidence back. What I learned from that relationship was something I can never replace. I learned to respect my self and it takes two... I wasn't the bad guy. It just wasn't meant to be.

My ex and i had a greattttt couple dates we even got intimate one night and she saw how much i changed and grown but she told me she needs more time and how much she loved me is through the roof. She said she doesn’t want space.She is talking to other people and she promised me it’s not like that. The next day we were on the phone and i was crying and said i love her and miss her. I apologized for being needy the next day. i notice i have been feeling like I’m proving something to her and doing all of the work. I’m going to focus on my happiness without her and stop putting her on a pedestal.

I literally pushed him away and I know for a fact that he isn’t coming back. I feel like swearing at him but my inner soul is telling me, let him go, and focus on your insecurities/ get to know yourself and don’t worry, you will find someone. Thats what I’m planning to do, I have started meditating and I’m making goals for myself. If he ever does come back, I’ll meet him and have a lot of fun with him but I’ll become distant through text messages.
This whole year for me is to date myself. Get to know my hobbies, my interests, my dislikes, my likes etc. That way if I work on myself, I’ll attract another high value man for me!! WIN WIN SITUATION!!

This is something I needed to hear again and again. I find myself being needy and want to reach out to her, just to hear her sweet voice. Just talk to her. Yesterday, I told her to loose my number and don’t contemplate at all, I know that in time she will come back but I get desperate and find myself in despair wanting to talk to her.. Hi coach, would like to extend my appreciation on your effort in providing this wonderful video. Your thoughts are always amazing, thanks a lot! My ex and I had been together for 14yrs, basically half of our lives. I thought we were having a wonderful relationship until 1day he started ghosting me. Coach I had been too desperate at that time, I literally lost my entire myself. At that time I couldn’t sleep nor eat and been crying buckets of tears. This ex of mine literally told me that me ‘sorry i do not intend to made you expect we’ll get married’. Until 1 day I found this channel, to which I play videos repeatedly so that it could really register in my mind. True enough no contact worked. My ex never came back but I was able to improve myself and become that better version of me. I haven’t move on yet but I do believe i’ll get there. This journey is really tough. I still cry sometimes. And honestly I feel so vulnerable.

I have 3 kids been in a horrible marriage which ended 3yrs ago and divorced almost a yr. I met this amazing guy at the end of last yr from another state we were doing the long distance thing for 3mths and then he moved down to be with me. During the last 10wks we have been living together and with the corno virus isolation and him being out of work(as hes never been unemployed) has its struggles. 1 of children before this time decided to live with her father out of the blue and I havnt seen her for 10wks this has made me very emotional as a mother and my other children hav acted out and caused some havoc and my partner hasnt been coping which I understand (theres more to it but I'm being brief) we have an amazing connection but lately I've become needy for his affection and texting him as I havnt seen him for 3 nights and he lives with me. Idk where he is( not with another women) but I'm worried as he has his own issues going on that me needing him has pushed him away. I've never been needy it's just my circumstances atm and I really love this guy I think way to much. I'm worried it's over and not sure how to deal with this when he come back as hes clothes r still here and so is his dog. I want some help

Thank you for all the time you dedicate to help people in such dark times. I miss him everyday, I dont contact him at all, but deep down I know I need him. Im in Venezuela and since yesterday in my Country things have been tougher that it were and all I can think is texting him or calling him cause he was my best friend and the only thing stable in my world. I wont but I still cant make the pain go away. Its harder when everything in your world is also falling appart. I feel I lost it all.

I am regularly watching and following your videos on TH-cam to get motivated and keep moving in life.
I had 7 years of relation with my ex girlfriend. Suddenly last month she started saying that she can't feel anything and she wants freedom to talk to other guys without any restriction. But she still loves but want to be in contact as friends and she was like "you are an amazing guy, problem is in me. I cant do efforts now. Blah blah."She wanted to have me as plan B. Because of this frustration and lack of efforts from her side we had a lot of small fights. I did a lot of efforts to make her feel good and bring the spark but that lasted for 1 or 2 days maximum. Then she again started being bitchy time to time. Since November I tried to cut contact with her 4 times. But again and again she somehow contacted me and we talked. But now from 14 January 2019 we again had fight. And I taunted her to stop being in contact with me and stop taking me for granted and messing with my mental peace. On that day she swore she won't message me again.
Then again I started no contact & blocked her for 2 weeks. During that period she kept asking our mutual friends about my status on WhatsApp and How I am.
It's been 2 weeks now. I am afraid
1) I guess she will never contact me now
2) For how long I should take this no contact period?
She didn't block me anywhere till now just hidden her status update on scial media from me. I am trying hard to move on concentrate on myself

Ok here goes nothing.. she left me about 8 months ago . She had every reason to , I wasn’t a good bf but I was a good father to our son.. Yea man my girlfriend can out of nowhere and said it’s not working and just left me in the dust, maybe it was the best we had bee. Clashing for months, it was my first relationship and I been trying to rebuild every sense, she doesn’t text me back no more and at this time I’m starting to give up on her, I start college today and am focusing on myself it but at least I want to have a final conversation with her and just ask what happens to us. We have been through a lot because she said she's no longer interested in me that she wants to go back to her ex bcos she has many of her exes wanting to get back with her.she ask me to move out of the house which I already start searching for a new apartment.but at the moment we still together until I finally move out. I have been a good follower of your video and advice. I have a boyfriend that claims he loves me so much and even went as far as letting my family and his family knows about his intention of marrying me,but the problem is he is a womanizer though he has never done it to my face. He doesn't go out with me on a dates,he cares for me,provide everything I need but the only problem is that he is cheating on me with so many women and he doesn't care about how his actions affect me. He goes about with his phone always when am around him he is always with his phone chatting and always space me so as to have the freedom to answer calls and chat. He only comes around me when he is ready to sleep and that is very late in the night. I know about most of the women he is having affairs with but he keeps denying that nothing serious is going on between them yet he cannot stay without seeing them he travels to go and meet with them too. I tried ur no contact rule and he came back begging and went as far as bringing my parent to settle us he promised to change and open a new page in our relationship but d moment I forgave him and he had sex with me he still went back cheating on me with the same women he said he has let go and he was over with. And it Hurts me always becos I have been very loyal and honest to him for two years that we have been dating. Pls advice me.

In honesty, I was really unhappy for ages. And, even though it stings I'm in NC for myself and my personal development goals which fell by the wayside. Already feeling the progress and I run my own business so busy is easy.

The part I don't get is why the person being dumped is the bad guy who needs to improve themselves!...there would have been faults on both sides so surely both need to improve themselves..nobody is perfect! Its all a big game. Why cant folk just sit down and work out their issues....talk to each other. Then if the issues are too big then split up...but at least you gave it a shot. Months of silence and pain (for mainly the person who has been dumped) just seems mad...life is too short for games.

My ex left me like 1 week ago telling she didn't love me anymore.
It was a 2 years realtionship.
And it was going kinda bad in December but at the end of the month I think we did well.
After that she had doubts and in a week she decided she didn't love me anymore.
I of course made the bad decision of telling her I would be so sad and said that I wouldn't love anyone else anymore because she left me in that way.
We did talk in a 1to1 talk and she ended up kissing me just for making me happy (lot of emotions but no changes of ideas).
Now I'm doing No Contact.
And she's watching at my stories on Instagram and WhatsApp.
Am I doing right?
And I have the doubt I won't want her anymore after this period, becouse I'm enjoying life and doing stuff and I think I'll move on. But I don't want to.

Is it good idea to text Happy birthday if im on 45 days of NC? He left a few voicemails and just said "please answer and We need to talk" I cut things off bcz he was seeing someone else and insisted that we wern't in an exclusive relationship.. I asked him that question coz he changed a lot he became cold and I was shocked with his responce he's breaking up with me, and after a week he wanted us to be friend which is really hard for me everytime I started to have a conversation or start a topic he answered me in a sarcastic way,I begged and plead to fix our relationship for 1 week but he just want to be friend, so I decided to stop talking with him and now it's 1week already and still mesirable.

What if you were needy in a text after you guys were starting to reconcile and he said he was going to do his own thing again? Is there hope? I haven't been contacting him since but I did text him two days ago as I needed a ride home at night and it would have been a pure favor. He did text me back and said "Sorry I can't."
