Freedom 1 still the #1 of my heart. I loved it when it was more of a "hunting and gathering simulator" than the boss rush that it is now. The world more nice and alive than ever before, but feels at the same time so dead because it does not reward the interaction with it. Oh you need some food and materials to sustain your life and hunting? Just go to the argosy or whatever item multiplication mechanic, no need to put a foot ever outside but for the bossrush. I liked the slow playstyle of the old games. The world is fast enough, it's nice to slow down from time to time and not have all your needs fulfilled all the time. It's the unavailability of things that makes things interesting, that stimulates the discourse and interaction with the world. Everything else are dead relations. The "Quality of Life" - argument is worth shit. And yeah I like the new Monster Hunter games too, but I'm getting from game to game more tired of the Bossrush- Formula. In the end they could just call it a day and put the Monster in the Arena and forget about the maps, since they obviously arent a relevant part of the game loop anymore. They could bring some games in the old formula again instead of just investing all the time in this. Yeah it got the game a bigger community and everything - but was it worth it?
@@prizrenbucpapaj869 Game about hunting monsters has too much monster hunting for a guy who admits he'd rather be playing a gathering simulator. There's plenty of them, go have fun instead of writing dissertations on how you want a realism simulator.
@@hakageryu307 yeah that's also quite a worn out response to my kind of argument, nearly as worn out as the "quality of life" response. " The game is called 'Monster Hunter' so it can't have too much emphasis on boss fights. Yes. Yes it can. Because it diminishes the variety and facets of activity of the gameloop it once had. Yes it is called Monster Hunter. Guess what, the content of a game can nonetheless be more complex than just what its title would imply. And guess another thing. Yeah its called Monster Hunter. But how much do you really hunt anymore. How much do you need to interact with the world anymore, so that you get to the monster and best it. Last time I checked hunting ment more than just runnig up to monster and kill it. We who started the franchise before MHW, maybe as early as Gen1&2 were sold on this Monster Hunter where you had variety, as you got to gather and you got to hunt and you got to fight the monster. We have kept the franchise going until it reached the masses with World. Now we see how the franchise strays more and more from what defined MH for us. And that's ok. It's not like we don't like the new games. We still buy them, we still play them and support the franchise and have fun with them for what they are. But is too much asked that there should be something like a parallel line of the franchise that keeps the formula going? And then you can keep your boss rush games as long and as much as you want. Maybe they take as I said the maps away and put them in Arena only, so that you can "hunt" as fast and as much as you want.
@@hakageryu307 There was no need for that. You could have pointed out your opinion just fine without sounding like an edgy a+se. When we say how how friendly MH community is, that excludes people like you.
Me playing the bricked version of Android and iOS version before mhw. Yes it was nice. Surprisingly most monsters are memorable and the knowledge transfer can be used to play world for some reason. Like Rajang is a beast. SPOILER: Apparently they call Fatalis or Miraboreas the Dark Demise there. I dunno

Tons of content, still horrible attack animations and massive disjointed hit boxes. It's alright but it's so painfully obvious who has rose tinted glasses for the game. It's like people saying gen 1 Pokemon was the best.
@@lupvirga You missed the point it seems; but it's fine, I'll explain. Im not sure you're aware at how SHORT some PSP games were; PSP was a platform with games you could clear in a day, having an average life. So yeah, I still praise it because of how unique it was, not to mention it's SEVERELY retarded to compare any other platform Monster Hunter to PSP Monster Hunter. It's like being mad for someone praising PS1 GTA just because GTA V exists.
@@lupvirga AT least it was a challenge, something I have never had in the newer MHs. They become easier every game and lost the "You vs the Monster" aspect completely. Now it is "You and your friends against a Monster". I like the newer versions of MH but for me it is just s shadow of its former glory.
One is healthy and goes to sleep at 9 am like a good boy, the one we got in rise however is literally killing itself with its own dragon energy and is deranged, stained with unimaginable fury. Imagine what happens to a Deviljho when it goes savage, now take that and put it into an elder dragon with a usually expert handle on the dragon element
Same. I think it ruined some monsters by removing it. I prefer to just jump in the water to keep hunting a Plesioth instead of standing there impatiently waiting for the derpfish monster to get out of the f’ing water already. And Lagiacrus is kind of less intimidating now.
@@CuriosityMisledMe They give you access to some whacked ass attacks in Sunbreak, but they're still fairly necessary in the way you probably don't like them so much. You're doing yourself a disservicee to not play Sunbreak though, Aflicted monsters are really really fun to fight.
I was introduced to MH through Tri purely because they sold a classic-styled controller with the game. So now when I think of Gen 3 I don't think of the swimming mechanics, I think of how much mercy they had in pre-emptively guiding their playerbase away from using standard wii-mote controls.
@@joelrivera6824 the part the you could turn the MC to the left and right and press - to get the fade away slash in different directions for the longsword was sick tbh.
My cousin had Tri and let me play it because he didn't really like it Feel in love with it, went out and got MH3U. 20,000 hours of hunting later, some could say I have a problem lol
Rise is the easiest of the MonHun titles I've played by far. Even Sunbreak's endgame was about on part with high rank for the other games. A lot of it has to do with monster movesets being unable to punish sloppy hunters due to the wirebug moves. Very hard to cart in Rise/Sunbreak because you can bounce away or just counter so many moves. Fun game, but definitely on the weaker side in a lot of ways.
@@blackhammer5035I wouldn’t say having an expanded moveset makes it a “weaker” entry. I agree it’s easier than older MH games, but the older games were mainly more difficult because of certain tedious movements for collecting, carving, eating, sharpening, etc. also hit boxes weren’t as advanced as they are now. I do love a good challenge, but I see MHR as more of a Character Action game because of how freely you can move around now, and it’s not a bad thing. I understand some diehard fans will see an evolution in design and mechanics as a bad thing because they don’t like change from the tradition. But that doesn’t make the entry weak in any means.
@@prolevelcallout4597 also got to take into account that we are starting to get real good at hunting monsters, new move sets don’t mean much if you don’t use them, monsters have way more health then they did in past games because we as players have grown so much, for genuinely new MH hunters, magnamalo solo and solo apex hunts probably feel like a lot like the old walls we use to hit
@@prolevelcallout4597 While I do agree that those points don’t make it a weaker entry by any means, MHWI maintains a high standard of challenge still by matching up the capabilities of the monsters with that of the hunters, despite not being one of the older, “clunkier” games. While I don’t totally blame Rise for not being able to keep monsters at pace with the Hunters, you can’t say it’s strictly due to improved mechanics or QoL when Iceborne exists.
I actually like monster hunter explore. but they changed the game from gaining armor and weapons from fighting monsters to changing it to having the only way to gain armor and weapons was through a gacha systems.
I would love if instead of gacha of armors we have a gacha of monsters, like, the normal missions don't give so many good armors but the gacha ones gives really good monsters with rarities like Normal: medium monsters like velocidrome, great jagras and etc... Rare: big monsters like big boy rathy, thunder puppy and etc... Epic: variations or stronger monsters like azure rathalos, stygian zinogre and etc... Legendary: elder dragons or next like kushala daora, Akantor And another classification like extremely dangerous that will be the black dragons, like the fatalis family, alatreon and etc...
Freedom 2 and Freedom Unite are honestly my most played games ever and I haven’t touched them in over 10yrs. Tbh if you can master those then you’re pretty much set for any monster that you fight in any other game
I’ve heard of the MH series growing up but never played it because it sounded boring, but my friends pretty much forced me into playing MHW saying “YOU’LL LOVE IT”. Was 15 when I played it for the first time now I’m here still playing IceBourne at 19 with over 1,000 hours to my name. *Its now in my TOP 3 games*
i had one friend in elementary school who was a sucker for the series. I admit that as a kid, i bought Freedom Unite purely to spite him bc i had it first--little did i know that it was my first entry in one of my favorite ARPG series. We would sit outside with our PSPs set to Ad-hoc multiplayer and just hunt the high level monsters together. I was never the type to buy every entry after that but when i saw an MH game on 3DS or something I knew that buying it would be worth while. World is great and has the potential to be my favorite but its actually kinda my least favorite of the series lol
I absolutely love how accurate this is lol, One thing you can't deny is that at least with the main series they've been consistently great, even if personally rise was a bit of a disappointment for me.
Rise as of combat feels great but we have too much power that the monster needs to spam super moves which takes away from the wow factor Also I prefer slower hunts world pacing was perfect
@@ahmadbugshan9603 I have the same feeling with World and Iceborne - everything had to use super attacks there or they really wouldn't pose much of a threat to you.

@@Bomberthegreat personally I think part of the problem in camp restocking giving the player infinite supplies, take that away and all of a sudden you need to be careful with your potions and we won't need so many zone wide one shots, I'm fine with switching armour sets tho

Loved the simple word "wonderful" for monster hunter world, because it rly is.. That game is amazing. And this was also my very first mh game. Ill never stop to love it. Rise is good, but personally i still prefer world, gameplay and everything it offered. I hope that for the next mh theyll do some sorta of continuation for "world"
I wuldnt completely count on tht. They will bring over the overhauled core mechanic idea to 6th gen MH, but its gonna b different enough. Since almost every entry has one or two unique thing(s) to it, tht doesnt come back in the next entry. The soft reboot from 4th to 5th gen changed the focus from Hunting Prep to Weapon Combos, as well a shift away from Utility/Offensive mixture skill focus in meta to almost purely of Offensive. Hopefully they dont bring back the Guiding Land system. Tht was one of THE worst endgame mechanics to come into the series. Went way too off the MH grind loop into MMO territory. Great Concept, Poor Execution.
@@Daigon95 your points are fair, i respect that, but i still would like to see in the new gen, a monster hunter that takes the best concepts / mechanics of world, and improves it. And world felt more like a "Hunt" to do, with all that research shit, and the nature was rly full of life. Thats why i liked it more. And personally i prefer the "slow" gameplay instead of one, that technically doesnt look realistic. In rise u dont feel the weight of the weapons, in world i felt that. Even tho i would like to see more moves / and the possibility to do different combos with the same weapon. And also i would like to see a "parry" system in mh6, not the one that was made in rise, but a new one that it can be done, with the actual weapon.
@@maiku3741 I like both flavors of MH. The more grounded A-team design philosophy and the more over the top, experimental design philosophy of B-team. Helps change things up for almost yearly releases. Rise leaned ALOT more heavily into wep combo perfection and aggressive playstyle, which personally I enjoyed alot more than World. (4U still my fav entry btw) But as I said, its great we hav 2 diff teams workin on the series. Helps keep things interesting and wht both learn from each other, then goes into improvements of the next generation of MH.
@@Daigon95 thats right, then im interested to see hwo they will combine / and bring shit from the last two games, to the real actual new genaration. Lets wait to a new and better generation of mh
Sunbreak was on point I finished rise and didnt even do tue extra endgake stuff after narwa mother but eventually went back with sunbreak recently and absolutely loving it Feel bad for all the ps and xbox people wont get sunbreak for a while
Played the first game, it was a very unique game compared to other stuff I was playing on ps2. Enjoyed it, but didn't get too far. Years later I played portable 3rd and oh god it got me so hooked, been a huge fan of the series ever since.
Having played nonstop 3ds games plus Iceborne for 2 years before I got the Switch games, I was surprised when I didn't think GU was that great of an upgrade to base Gen, and that Rise (which I got after Allmother) was a substantial and very enjoyable game(yes, I was a Longsword and Dual Blades main). Dunno, I did plenty of stuff in GU, did the new deviants, actually wound up never really repeating those beyond Elderfrost, got me Jho Ceana armour, repelled W.Fatalis but couldn't be bothered to finally kill it, never did your G hyper metal raths or your further G deviants. Not sure if it was entirely burnout or it was a genuine 'no, I've literally just done this, and I'm more comfortable using a 3ds, why not just play those games?'. Maybe it could've been avoided with more unique stuff, but, GU is probably an incredible game for those without 3ds's and might be their optimal way to experience the journey that I did on 3ds.
I'm the same way about Gen. Was too young to care about meta sets back then, and Toka armor was really cool to unlock. Farming trunkspines for Elderfrost's lance was a pain, and all GU really added was Jho Ceana and a new way for LS and HBG to dominate the meta. Still, extra content is extra content, and the only downgrade was Prowlers being nerfed to the point of making some hunts impossible solo. Edit: Wanted to add that solo Fatties was a pain, and I never cared to do it with lance. Only way I slayed all 3 was with aerial DB (didn't bother farming more juice and I had already ran out, but it wasn't necessary). Most weapons can't even hit the head 50% of the time without aerial style, and you have to be glued to Fatty's face for most of the hunt if you actually want to kill it. Never had as hard of a time learning a fight in MH.
@@csg1lcolonel528 just did all three to verify to myself, I had done them before but wanted to double check, I have a different strategy, I did have fortify admittedly but on white and apparently black fatalis according to my card it only procced once and I was generally playing to avoid damage, probably more optimal if you're willing to get it early admittedly, but my skills were sharpness + 2, crit eye + 1, razor sharp, quick sheathe, fortify, elderfrost switch axe, demon riot 3, energy charge 3, absolute readiness, and my strategy involved a lot of hitting the tail! And the head, admittedly, sometimes, or the chest, but really do strive to hit the tail more than you think using your sword mode, or the hips, either works but I mean if you're far away or need to recharge your sword, it's damage all the same. Especially when crimson hears up you can hit the tail with axe mode, and it's good to hit during meteors too. I used a similar method for Beyond The Crimson Veil! But that was using a Charge Blade, in 4 ultimate. Desert Seltas Set, think it was chaotic gore charge blade, building up charge on the hips and casting the 6 phial saed down the tail, because impact phials ignore hitzones.
For the games I’ve played, I’d rank them: 7. Stories 6. Stories 2 5. Generations 4. World 3. Iceborne 2. Rise 1. Sunbreak (I’m aware that not many people liked Rise but for me it’s easily my favourite game of all time and Sunbreak made it even better)
MH Tri was the greatest online experience ever. Of course you would have to hold your breath, praying that the last breath wasn’t the last of the multiplayer back when the rumors began of it ending… Hopefully the private servers for Dolphin and modded Wiis will arrive soon…
This is the best as a MH1 Veteran myself playing 90% of the MH games. I agree with almost all of these lol. I actually liked Underwater Fights though, with today's less wonky mechanics maybe they can attempt to bring it back to work even better. I still feel like Water Monsters are severely lacking, maybe that's what they need. It's usually always Fire, Thunder, & Dragon now with a hint of Ice. Water is there but it's more rare and the ones that are there outside of Namielle aren't really amazing.
Idk why ppl say rise is a disappointing game, I liked it a lot and waited for that game so long , can't wait for the next one. Only need monster hunter in my life
its an amazing game its just that it lacked something that the other monster hunter games had but im also fine with having a more arcady style mh game to play
I think Monster hunter stories is actually great because it brings you another style of adventure in this world that we love, the World of Monster hunter.
I started with Monster Hunter (2004) and ended with Iceborne. My favorite was MHFU, followed by MHgen. World and Iceborne were good, although different; the problem I had with them is people are so antisocial now and the game promotes dropping in and out so nobody can get acquainted with each other. Some of my fondest memories of Monster Hunter were the times I met new people and we would just sit and talk for hours without even fighting anything. That's gone now. Players nowadays rather just finish a quest as soon as possible and move onto the next without a word.
rise is a bit different i think. as a result of the social features being less clunky to use than in world, people like using shoutouts and stickers a lot more now which is nice
>turning MH into Animal crossing Just because players don't communicate or don't stick around doesn't mean they are antisocial, Monster Hunter is already addictive as it is, and you're expecting people to have time to talk to each other and know their lives and what not? Give people the space to be casual, and it's not like the rulebook says it's the only way to have fun.
@@danielgeronimo5538 Regardless on wht u think, I agree with him. MHW just felt alot less social overall and ive been with this series for 13yrs. Not everyone is demanded to b social, but in general its noticeable tht ppl arent as open with each other like it used to be. Rarely spoke with anyone outside of friend groups within Discord servers im in, in World. MHRise was able to bring it back a lil and I was able to teach 2 ppl new to the series and joined into my friends Discords; As well as had a decent few convos over the text chats with randos tht I ended up hunting together with for 3 or more hours. Reason why alot of ppl pre 5th gen who were new to MH always praised with how very open, nice and helpful the community was. I still hear it a bit today with current 5th gen, but alot less than it used to b.
@@Daigon95 It's about different levels of social. I can understand why MHW had a lot of aloof players due to mainly its features being more "personalized" compared to other entries. But being part of the aloof Hunter community, and having played pre-5th gen, MHGU experience doesn't have me form unnecessary brotherly or sisterly connection with every player I meet, we just had fun that's all there is. Sent each other some Hunter cards if we really liked one another. At best our communication is through shoutouts and gestures. Maybe a bit of text chats along the way. It's kind of an oxymoron to say it's that not everyone is demanded to be social yet be branded anti-social for not sticking around with a group or two.
@@danielgeronimo5538 It wuld b a "oxymoron" if I mentioned tht the player base itself is antisocial. I'm more leaning on how the systems are laid out and in place for the issue in World; flood of ppl new to the subgenre can b a factor too. Also u seem to b really stuck on this idea of "oh they just want these very strong friendships of who they are and wht they are". U forgetting tht most common and polite actions within majority of these interactions? Hunters helping each other out, taking turns on quests, doing each others keys/urgents and making polite mentions of wht they need or assistance on. It can lead to some stronger social interactions like friendships and such. But its not some BIG thing tht u seem to b interpreting from both me and the OP as "this is wht it was yada yada Fast&Furious Family".
I wouldn't consider Tri as one of the best MH, but I would definitely rank Loc Lac as one of the best multiplayer hub. The overall design was among the best, only Sunbreak & Iceborne rival with it. But what I really appreciate in Loc Lac compared to those is the musics. It wasn't only one theme, but it had plenty, depending on the time of the day or the current events. Sure, Iceborne & World did something similar, but their themes felt like they matched the event but not the hub. Loc Lac themes managed to match both, and it was amazing !

My ranking of the games I've played: Stories 1: Good game, made mostly obsolete by its successor though GU: My first of the old world games! The massive pool of content and thriving online community are its big positives. The beginning is INCREDIBLY slow though. Also just not a fan of big celebration titles for the most part :p Rise: Mostly just a fun game to pick up and play. I'm sure Covid played a part in its lack of content, but it's also just WAY too easy. Stories 2: A worthy successor. Gorgeous game with a fantastic premise. The best pokemon game out there, and it's made by Capcom. Sunbreak: An upgrade to Rise in every way. That being said, I'm just not a huge fan of the portable games tbh. I really value immersion and the mainline games deliver on that in spades. 3U: My favorite old world title, I doubt even 4U or FU will take its place once I play them. Underwater is way too cool, and absolutely must come back in gen 6. Also I'm glad Lagi didn't come back for Rise, it NEEDS underwater to be good. Iceborne: I switch back and forth between this and the base game. The best endgame in the series, a great roster, a massive truckload of content, and ofc, Fatalis becoming the best fight in the series to cap it all off. The only things bringing it down are the clutch claw and the lesser focus on ecology compared to World. World: There's nothing like your first MH game. You go into it expecting it to be something it's not, be it Dark Souls or DMC or a hunting sim or whatever. You get frustrated, quit, and inevitably try again. And then you spiral into playing it for whole days because the combat is so deep, the environments so rich and the monsters so personable. This game is truly magical, and despite being able to see all its flaws more clearly now (those weapon designs OH MY GOD CAPCOM WHY), I love it to death.
Aq you said yourself, world was your first mh game, from what i've seen a lot of player who started with world were disapointed in rise while player who started before world were not, i think the nostalgia of the first experience plays a huge role in how we rank the quality of things.
@@mechanicalsilence1 I disagree, I've seen more disappointment in Rise from the veteran crowd than fifth fleet hunters, citing its lack of difficulty and unfinished state on launch. I just don't care much for the portable series, that's all.

We also are in for a treat because they will keep adding free title updates and continue to support the game, roadmap reveals that it will continue till 2023. I say go for it.
I quite enjoyed base Rise save for it’s endgame bits (rampages were novel but no fun to grind and Apexes missed the mark) but Sunbreak is a massive step up especially in the endgame, build making is a treat, the grind is a great balance of challenge and repeatability and more’s coming this month lol. And of course all the new and returning monsters are the best in the game imo. Honestly sunbreak is pretty nearly a 10/10 for me whereas base Rise was like a solid 7.
Maaaaan, where's the time that Rathalos was the big terrors... I remember it so clear, hearing a scream from between the bushes while on a gathering mission for mushrooms. Watching him charge a fireball while you stuck in the animation always gave me clammy hands and got me scared... 🤣🤣
MHO was basically a generic Korean MMO with a MH skin on top. It looked pretty, but thats about all that was good about it. Everything else was mediocre. Not bad, just lukewarm enough that its passible but ultimately makes you feel nothing. Which would have been ok if it wasn't Lost Ark levels of scummy monetization
Rise is the only one I can actually play. My best friend has been trying to get me to play since the beginning of the series. Just started a few days ago.
Definitely agree, though I haven't had motivation for Sunbreak in a while. It's good but that's about where I'd put it, plus it is definitely held back from the frustration of the base game. Not even World burned me out this much and that had Safi
Sunbreak didn't have a chance to improve anything over base Rise since it was so dry in content/endgame and tons of features scrapped like Rampages and Apexes, the expansion pretty much fixed and added the needed features that should've been in the base game. Iceborne on the other hand, had a solid foundation to build upon with the features of World like augmenting, sieges, investigations, festival/seasonal events etc.
How I felt with World b4 Iceborne released. I burned out heavily from it and left me with a pretty poor opinion on the entry, even after Iceborne. Wasnt till revisiting it again this year tht I hav a more general positive view on it, albiet still critical of it. lol
I remember purchasing Generations for the 3DS because I had a little money and wanted to play something random. Now I just can't get enough of this series they are so so so fun! And the music is in another level
Generations was my first game, my cousin introduced it to me the same way he introduced me to Pokemon with Black 2. Been a hunter since, currently playing Freedom and preparing to repel a Yian Garuga.
i have recently started monster hunter, and went from rise+sunbreak to world, and the difficulty increase was insane. i hope that at one point i get to play mh4 and of course the og monster hunter.
For anyone that will inevitably ask, this is all satire. I started with Freedom 1 and like all the MH games I've played.
Freedom 1 still the #1 of my heart. I loved it when it was more of a "hunting and gathering simulator" than the boss rush that it is now. The world more nice and alive than ever before, but feels at the same time so dead because it does not reward the interaction with it.

Calling MHR “babysitter“ is way more accurate than it should be
@@distion comparing to the older MH game, it is easy. The difficulty really ramp up though when you get to the DLC endgame.
I actually like monster hunter explore. but they changed the game from gaining armor and weapons from fighting monsters to changing it to having the only way to gain armor and weapons was through a gacha systems.
and sadly as time passes, we get more and more mobile games with actually great gameplay, but are huge gacha vortexes
I would love if instead of gacha of armors we have a gacha of monsters, like, the normal missions don't give so many good armors but the gacha ones gives really good monsters with rarities like
Normal: medium monsters like velocidrome, great jagras and etc...
Rare: big monsters like big boy rathy, thunder puppy and etc...
Epic: variations or stronger monsters like azure rathalos, stygian zinogre and etc...
Legendary: elder dragons or next like kushala daora, Akantor
And another classification like extremely dangerous that will be the black dragons, like the fatalis family, alatreon and etc...

I had a similar experience. I enjoyed MHG on the 3ds, but could make myself redo everything even though I wanted to see the new content.

The initial launch left a bad taste in my mouth. No elder dragons for a while :/. It grew on me after the event quests started rolling in.
Players nowadays rather just finish a quest as soon as possible and move onto the next without a word.
rise is a bit different i think. as a result of the social features being less clunky to use than in world, people like using shoutouts and stickers a lot more now which is nice
>turning MH into Animal crossing
Just because players don't communicate or don't stick around doesn't mean they are antisocial, Monster Hunter is already addictive as it is, and you're expecting people to have time to talk to each other and know their lives and what not?
Me, a monster Hunter dynamic baby: Swip, swip, swip, and done.
I can't stop talking about mhfu to my friends since they started playing mhrise, checks out.
Legitimately the most accurate reaction meme I have ever seen.
The original MhTri will always stay the best in my heart. I miss Loc-Lac and the friends I've made so much....... Loc-Lac, be eternal
@@axanarahyanda628 totally agree. The music was awesome. Another Thing was the Multiplayer. It was possible to Form a real Team and it felt Like beeing in a real guild building, teaming Up with your Party, etc. It felt very immersive and left alot of memories
For real, had some of the best times in Loc Lac. I used to pretend to be asleep and then sneak downstairs to play even more than I should've 🤣
I definitely have a soft spot for Tri. I remember pre ordering it to get that black pro controller for the wii. Game is great and I even like the underwater areas
@@BandedHylian it was so cool, Sometimes i spent days there Just sitting in the cantine, talking with the squad about life etc. listening to Songs Like "Loc-Lac, be eternal"
The best thing I seen in a long time. This is greatly made!!!
My ranking of the games I've played:
Stories 1: Good game, made mostly obsolete by its successor though
GU: My first of the old world games! The massive pool of content and thriving online community are its big positives. The beginning is INCREDIBLY slow though. Also just not a fan of big celebration titles for the most part :p
Rise: Mostly just a fun game to pick up and play.
While I think nostalgia has a part to play, I doubt my ranking would change much if World weren't my first game, as it exemplifies all my favorite traits in this series. I just don't care much for the portable series, that's all.
Don't understand the "rise is too easy" crowd lmao. I'm playing monster hunter 1 and 3u and most of my times are sub 10 minutes. The same as Rise. Same complaints happened with literally every previous monster hunter.
@@mechanicalsilence1 as someone who started with FU I don't like rise, sunbreak is amazing though. Still the lack of hunting aspects make it feel a little... Shallow?
@@azure4622 what's the big difference between rise and sunbreak ?
“In the mouth, it was lovely” the literal definition of MH4U 🤣
As someone who haven't played Rise, I would say babysitter is a totally accurate description of Rise.
I still remember when i played the first mh on my ps2 at around 10 years old, i just awakened my masochistic tendency after that.
Mhw felt like a Dino hunting sim with some monster hunter goodies sprinkled in
I think you played a different game
So now we know what potions taste like?
That babysitter line hit different now that Sunbreak is out!
Holy shit
Describing Rise as the Monster Hunter Babysitter is amazingly accurate
What does he mean by that? Do the newbie players hurt the gameplay causing the experienced players to have to babysit them?
@@sertulariae8294 it’s very easy
@@sertulariae8294 more mobility with wirefall, almost every weapon having an /hyper armor counters. You dont even need to attack during openings , you just go ham and do just fine. Even with sunbreak i still managed to reach endgame with High Rank armor sets without any problems. Compared to mhfu however... even with g rank armor , you'll still get clapped by HR Black Diablos if you are not careful.
@@saos242 Don't care, because afflicted monsters are by itself harder than almost any other monster in the series
Idk what are you talking about, even with 700 of defense and +15 of ice defense aurora somnacanth could take the 50% of my health with one hit
@@Amatsu_storm_approach skill issue, freedom unite is a million times harder than rise
I've never seen a better Michael Rosen edit. 10/10.
That was the most perfect sunbreak take I’ve ever heard
As a person who only ever played Stories 2: I'm just glad it got acknowledged
It's a shame so few of these released outside of Japan. They were hard for me to come across where I live, when I was still just a console gamer. I would certainly like to see them all released for PC next.
I agree, but they'd have to stagger releases. If they did a compilation, the player base would scatter to the four winds
@@jesfest it would definitely be a good tactic for sales. I’d pay, and certainly if they’re remastered competently!
the fact the video ended and i just think Jocat is a sign you made a good brand
Haven't tried sunbreak yet, is it actually enjoyable now?
I love it and was very meh on rise
Banger game
As someone who didn't enjoy base Rise much, i must say SunBreak is really amazing. It's really enjoyable and it's worth the price.
Sunbreak dunks on base rise
Maaaaan, where's the time that Rathalos was the big terrors... I remember it so clear, hearing a scream from between the bushes while on a gathering mission for mushrooms. Watching him charge a fireball while you stuck in the animation always gave me clammy hands and got me scared... 🤣🤣
Anytime i hear "MH veteran" I know its gonna take alot for me to stay awake for what happens next
I love how he described each game in good accuracy.
Positive review of World, laughing at MHO, discarded
MHO was basically a generic Korean MMO with a MH skin on top. It looked pretty, but thats about all that was good about it. Everything else was mediocre. Not bad, just lukewarm enough that its passible but ultimately makes you feel nothing. Which would have been ok if it wasn't Lost Ark levels of scummy monetization
@@elk3407 Wanna know how I can tell you never played MHO?
@@vitriolicAmaranth Your own poor taste won't change the facts
@@elk3407 estrellian actually was a very cool Monster with a good Design concept
@@lucastolter6344 I don't disagree. But it would have been 100x cooler in any other MH game where the combat was actually fun
Guys I am fucking crying over here. My stomach hurts.
I just about died when he yelled "Babysitter!" when it showed Monster Hunter Rise. True, true.
Rise is the only one I can actually play. My best friend has been trying to get me to play since the beginning of the series. Just started a few days ago.
I actually enjoyed Base Rise over Base World. For 3 reasons, weapon designs being unique again, crafting decos, and more monster skeletons.
IF ONLY IT WASNT BUILT FOR A POTATO CONSOLE
I kinda expected there's drink buff sound after "drinks more."
Wasnt till revisiting it again this year tht I hav a more general positive view on it, albiet still critical of it. lol
Suprized with the iceborn one after drinking the peace he didn't fall over and die of overload.
This is so funny lol
i’ve played world and some of rise, world is so peak cannot wait for wilds
Monster Hunter is the series that can feed you for all 3 meals throughout the year
didnt play every single MH game but out of the ones I know he got them quite spot on.
(World/Iceborne player) Wait, you don’t hate me or the game I play…? This is strange, downright unnatural! It’s… Nice.
This is perfection XD Rise=Babysitter was genius.
I remember purchasing Generations for the 3DS because I had a little money and wanted to play something random.
Now I just can't get enough of this series they are so so so fun! And the music is in another level
I can't maintain my composure whenever I get to Monster Hunter Online, lmao
Generations was my first game, my cousin introduced it to me the same way he introduced me to Pokemon with Black 2. Been a hunter since, currently playing Freedom and preparing to repel a Yian Garuga.
Did You repel Him successfully Hunter?
As a player of MHExplore, I do agree the waste being how short it lasted.
MHR “babysitter” had me giggling so hard
i have recently started monster hunter, and went from rise+sunbreak to world, and the difficulty increase was insane. i hope that at one point i get to play mh4 and of course the og monster hunter.
