LOL at the Honda haters! This car delivers in every aspect, but you are to stubborn to admit it.
am I the only one who likes the front end? :(
Matt97 yes you are
I dont like it I love it
The hole car looks dope as hell i love it this is my dream car my baby💯🙏
@@ashtonrussell3926 does it only have two seats?
I bought this car when it came out and I still have it 9 years later No issues and 120k miles. still Love it
Honestly if there was a Lexus or an Acura badge on the front, you would all be complementing it
to be honest all the japan car look identical ,i mean so ugly!
Dunt Kare you can't even speak English
9 years later.. can confirm the 2014 coupe in a 5spd is still a great car
To each their own. I love the way this car looks. I have a 2014 coupe and couldn't be any happier with it. 20,000 miles on it, and it's been a pleasure to drive. I love the front and rear design, and the gas economy is great.
About 33 combined.
Function First sorry for the late response, last year I've been wanting to get the 2014/15 Honda civic coupe for the longest but sadly I couldn't afford it, so I went with the 2013. Even though I love my 2013 car a lot I still get a bit jealous seeing this model on the road :). take good care of yours!
Man, I just love the rear styling of this car. I think the front could have been a little bit better, though. I love the rear more than the rear of my 2014 Honda Accord.
That camera under the mirror is the selling factor for me. That is just amazing. Im always worried that I will miss a car in my blindspot when I look back but now I dont even need to look at it.
Got this car in blue around 3 weeks ago and glad I did; pretty nice all around
The hell are you people talking about? It's probably the best looking car in it's most basic price range. Just because it might be boring to drive doesn't justify it's "ugliness"... lol.
id rather have a shitty looking car thats a buttload of fun to drive than a nice looking car thats shitty to drive, but thats just me lol
Also the CVT is soooo much different then Nissan and Mitsu. Its far better and cannot be compared to these other makes. The Honda CVT gives it better acceleration and a couple extra horsepower. It feels a lot more sporty even compared to the 13, plus it has an added sport mode which gives it decent pick up by boosting the RPM and making throttle response more sensitive. I was actually pretty surprised when I drove it. For those that think it may be boring to drive give it a test drive it's actually quite nice. Not a sport car but I realized a big difference in acceleration compared to the 13.
I look at these new sedans for good fuel economy and a pleasant look with good quality as well as a fair price. Nothing more, nothing less.
and that's exactly what it is built for.
I have the automatic model I love it and my friends love it. They always want my to drive them everywhere 😂😂
People saying this is ugly drive a BMW or something. This is one of the best looking in its category. Nicely done!
I've test driven the sedan version of this car, and I really enjoyed it. The only things I didn't like were lack of a hatchback model, seats weren't as well bolstered as its competitors, and those stupid volume controls, but aside from that I had no major complaints. Out of the 2014 Mazda 3, 2014 Corolla, the 2014 Focus, and the Civic, I found the Civic to be the best all rounder in terms of quality of materials, road noise, ride, handling, styling, equipment, reliability, residual value, ease of owner maintenance, and initial value for money. Sure all of it's competitors will do a couple of things better than the civic, but I walked away from the test drive with the fewest complaints that would put me off of buying one. Many of you say you hate the CVT, and I thought I would hate the one in this one as well, but I didn't. It's very smooth in the Civic. It's a bit noisy under heavy acceleration, but quietens down during steady speeds. Yes, a manual is fun to drive on short term basis for me, but I just can't live with one. If there's one thing I've learned is that everybody's taste and needs are different and you should thoroughly test drive and compare the cars before making a decision. Just by watching video reviews of all the cars mentioned above, I thought the Mazda would be my favorite, but after I test drove them all, I found myself happiest with the Honda.
A Google User this isn't a sedan review, goodbye.
I really like this "new" coupe and styling. The big revelation is being able to use your smart phone navigation on the touch screen. That is a game changer IMO and will hopefully begin to render those ridiculously overcharged factory navigation systems worthless.
This comment aged like fine wine!
Is it a timing belt or chain, and how tough is the push button start, also how bad is theft with the fob hacking
I like the new styling!
Is the CVT standard on the sedan as well or can you still get that with a regular auto transmission?
I like the drivers side camera
Not a big fan of the transmission change as of most of Honda models. The Accord lost the slushbox and now the Civic. Would have liked to see a automatic 6 speed. But at least they still offer a manual transmission.
I’d be getting this or the Accord Coupe, but..my family’s last Hondas all had difficult to fix maintenance problems. I’m a bit worried if that were to happen with me. I had an early 2000s Civic Hybrid which had its electrical systems shutting down at some point and efforts to fix it had only temporary results until we had to sell it for parts and repair. It was old but I think at this point in time it was more stylish(with at least white color and small spoiler) than the 2011 gold colored Corolla I’m still trying to replace.
Honestly I think this car is a really good first car for anyone purchasing a “new” car. I bought this car for my first car and it runs really well. My friends love my car because it’s tiny and it drives really well. When we go fast(I live in Hawaii) it really feels like a race car. If you want it to look flashy you can always add accessories on the exterior like the bumper. I really love this Honda and once my brother graduated high school I’m going to lend it to him until he buys his own car. It’s family friendly 😊.
Does yours have oil dilution problems? Im looking to buy one but hopefully it doesn't have this issue, thanks
@@lovelyyy7573 I bought a 14 with 80k on it and it runs great. Just replace the oil every 7k miles and runs like a champ. I also use CC on steady roads and get 30-35 mpg. Bang for your buck man.
About to buy one myself and I'm so excited. One of the best looking (modern) civic generations imo
What’s the app the video talks about for $60 to get navigation from your iPhone onto the screen?
got mine for $19200 out the door. Its exactly the same but without leather and fog lights. 2014 civic EX 4 door. Did I get a good price?
i hav a white one!!!! thinking of getting the SI
great video
....idk i like how it looks :D
Why do all the car reviewers ignore the manual? It's the enthusiasts choice, who will most likely actually take the time to watch reviews. The regular person down the road will not. They just view a car as another appliance.
Lane Watch camera is on the Passenger side mirror
Volume is on the steering wheel stop crying.
I liked the front end they just had... Looks more like the 06 in front end still looks good though
Plus the Mazda3 achieves almost identical numbers on mpg using a proper 6 speed transmission, not a cvt. I dont don't understand how mazda being a way smaller company than the all mighty Honda, can pump out a way better car. It just drips coolness and is very good quality. When I sat in it I honestly felt like if I was in a bmw.
It will never feel like a bmw. Bmws don't have hard plastic or basic stereos or anything like that.or cloth seats or heating seats as an option.
@@hughjanus7029 cloth seats > leather imo
The steering wheel is small but feels terrific.
Civic is a great car and definitely worth considering over Toyota, Mazda, Ford, and others in the segment. I think the auto journalists make entirely too big a deal about the lack of audio volume knob. Either use the steering volume controls like you really should be doing, or swipe up and down. Every single video where the guy or gal complains, they paw at the screen like they are doing one finger typing on an electric typewriter.
Fr, honestly it’s much more easier to use too. My friends always complain about not having the knob for the sound(they always think the AC knob) that controls the temperature.
Ima upgrade to a 2015 soon😫
I love this car
the volume dial is actually a big deal for me haha i know that sounds dumb but it is just easier.
This car has outsold every car in its class, so I would only guess they are doing something right!
Get over it. Honda didn't make this car for sport compact enthusiast. Neither did they design the 90s civics for enthusiast. Remember most Hondas came with an underpowered sohc motor unless you had a 99-01 si. Its for the economical commuter with all the convenience features. Also the government has more restrictions on fuel economy and the carbon foot print. If you want to be enthused with a sport compact and have your fun go buy an evo.
I like the interior and the features are nice. Almost comparable to the ILX. I think Honda made the front end ugly to step people to the ILX. If not, what would be the purpose of the ILX as the new Civic pretty much matches or beats it in features.
Is the camera person hiding in the backseat during 4:15-4:22? Lol 😂
Looks like it,huh?
Toyota should make a coupe model for the carolla to attract young buyers
juukyuu7666 The Tc is a kind of toyota coupe.
Honestly this coupe looks better than last year. But one thing that's for sure the 2013 Honda civic sedan from lx to si looks way better than the coupes. But that's just my opinion.
I think the Toyota looks better :) and im a Honda fan I own Acura TL and Acura ZDX. And a 1995 Honda Accord
Can he do math? All of the mpg figures were added up wrong in the HF vs regular comparison
Los Honda nunca dan batalla, duran un chingo y casi no se descomponen.
It's nice but I'd rather have the Mazda3. I went to see both of them and the mazda feels superior in almost every way.
1:30 holy hood gap Batman
I still like my 2013 4 dr lx better looking than the 2 door. Not a coupe fan of civic . When I get a coupe I will get Z.
nice car
can't stop laughing at the music sound so cheesy
Still less horsepower than my car that's as old as I am...I don't know what I expected. That gas mileage tho....
This is my car. A great car.
same here buyed yesterday
How would this car fair in winter conditions?
Since this car is front wheel drive, it will do fine in the snow.
***** I wouldn't compare driving to a boat on water.
***** Are you replying to me? If so, it doesn't matter where you are, a "boat on water" is a terrible comparison with any vehicle. Just to get to the basics, boats don't go fast, they don't slow down quickly and they have little friction with the surface. Do you want a car driver to think that?
***** Where's your brain Carmella? Obviously I didn't know who you were replying to hence the first part of my paragraph was a question... Smh
***** Funny how you deleted all of your comments. Here's a useful tip, get your head out of your ass. You really need to start thinking about situations in a general sense and not just the ones you encounter in Boston, cause believe it or not, not every one lives in Boston. Shocker, I know.
STOP THE CVT MADNESSS!
Wow that front face is kinda ugly seems that some cars get uglier as years pass i still opt for a 8th gen or a 2013 in terms of styling
Nice music and not so comical like that auto bite guy
japanese auto designers have all gone mad
Come on Honda I know you can do better than that!...honestly I don't like this new Civics as much as the late 90's models those were the days for Civics...just my 2¢
"Does a CVT Ruin the Honda Civic?" A BIG YES!
Looks ugly and unrefined damn
Nothing in this review tells me why I should buy this over a Kia forte coup or the Hyundai elantra coup, or the Mazda 3!
Don't rely on only reviews. I was looking at the reviews and I honestly thought that the Mazda 3 would be the best car for me, but when I test drove the four leading compact cars (2014 Focus, Corolla, Honda, and Mazda 3), I found that I had the least complaints with the Honda all things considered. Test drive the cars, and then you will know for sure.
Coupe em if you got em...
Looks like honda does not know what else to do with the civic
so the Corolla edged the Civic based on this channel? now you are saying that this one has much more efficiency and blah blah... you can't compare a coupe w a sedan.. its just 2013 Civic sedan vs 2014 Corolla... not this coupe
Im glad.
I mean c'mon Honda! remember your roots for god sake! you making a small car, why not make it fun?
Im so glad i bought the 2012 instead of this crap.. 20k for a fucking cvt? gtfo.
Kiero un honda civic 220
It's not necessarily ugly but the proportions are off IMO.
I would rather get an older Acura tsx
Lol honda... Nissan is killing you.. they made small cheap cars with good epa like you.. but also can pull sports cars like the 370z/Znismo a gtr.. altima coupe... even the maxima is sporty. Now their is a juke and sentra nismo... Honda you are king of slow....
The Altima coupe is not even in production anymore, and was no faster than an Accord. The Maxima is an incredibly dated car that returned horrible gas mileage. I don't know why Nissan thought it'd be a good idea to put a CVT in their Maxima. The Juke is flat out UGLY, and the Sentra Nismo is nothing more than a concept car. Actually the Si can be had for 22k and is touted as a great bang for your buck performance wise.
Today is not 1990s. And vanilla always sell better than spicy ice cream. The reality is vast majority of car buyers won't buy into "performance" and many don't even test drive their cars. They only care about "brand, cost, and reliability/ fuel economy".
www.therichest.com/luxury/auto/top-10-best-selling-cars-of-all-time/
Let me know when you find Nissan on the list.
mercedescl oh really because last time I checked even Honda is going for *aggressive* styling with *sporty handling* your to blind to see that it's Cheap fun that's gone.. I think the 7 Panamera GTS in my area didn't pick those cars because they are economy cars pfffttt
Shnagloggler got to love irrelevant comments.
This thing looks nice but damn it's slow...
This car is button ugly front side and back. Glad this an't coming to UK.
So much hate, damn
looks so bad
this is the best looking and cheapest coupe on the market.
scion tc , kia forte koup, and elantra coupe are too ugly.
iPhone this, and iPhone that... NOT EVERYONE USES iOS!
Corolla doesn't make a coupe, how can it be a direct competitor?
Honda's bore the life out of me...
Ok, I guess that makes sense...most people act like lemmings.
More distracting options that will be obsolete in a month plus more dumb ass safety systems to help you play with the distractions. Honda needs to fire a lot of people. Start with the corporate idiots that decided to green light the exterior design of the Civic going back to 2012 on up. I was a die hard Honda fan for over a decade but no more. Honda forgot how to make serious cars for the True Enthusiasts. Hope all you lemmings enjoy your new car.
Um..."S" isn't "sport mode" dummy....it mimics second "gear"
The front end is just plain ugly. yuck. Im still waiting to see the new Si, ill lol even more if they say yah more HP than before and hit say 210 haha. They gotta hit like 225 stock with the new si. Still I cant stand the front end!
New Si is 205hp
Paras Kalra wow a whole 4 more HP lmao, junk
Vtrjfrost
205 hp is still impressive coming from a 2.4L. Although I would have been more impressed if they stuck with their 2.0L engine (k20).
Mazda's 3 2.5L only puts out 184hp
Even most 4cyl naturally aspirated mid sized sedans don't even put out that much power.
Could Honda use a turbo? Probably, but I wouldn't expect a turbo for their Si. Maybe a Type R, but that'll never happen especially in the North American market.
ChuiStrong Doesn't Hyundai/Kia's 2.4 liter make 200 HP in their Sonata/Optima without using premium fuel?
FudgeRevolution
Optima/Sonata's 2.4L puts out 192hp. Which is very impressive coming from Korea.
Still, the Civic is a compact vehicle with an engine that should be in a mid sized sedan. So there are obvious power to weight ratios.
Plus, I know no other automaker who makes a smoother or slicker manual transmission than Honda.
That said, I still wouldn't spend my money on a new Si. A lot of better options out there. (Focus ST, BRZ/FRS, Speed3, or even the Fiesta ST)
noo.. rather have the regular auto to a crapvt
cvt in a civic coupe? im no purist and i think its horse shit! All the more reason to buy a fiesta st, GTI, or just about any other car. This guy has the same taste in cars as my mom. what a dick
Lol almost 20k for a cvt......
Fake vents...
The front end ,specially the bumper with those massive plastic inserts on the sides are just plain ugly .
Sorry but that front bumper is HIDEOUS !
And a CVT ? No thanks, I'll go buy a normal car with a geared automatic.
I'm not buying an automatic coupe anything...
I just don believe there reviews.
Nope 2015 WRX for me now.. Honda sucks Customer Service is just as bad too
Id take a fully restored or unmolested 2dr 6th gen over this piece of crap.
Too long
I have a brand new 2014 Honda Civic Coupe. Here is what sucks ....
1) Anything Bluetooth - Horrible sound
2) USB does not work
3) Speakers suck
4) CVT Transmission sucks
5) Dealership sucks
Im selling mine today after only having it 3 weeks
Still ugly as fuck. Shouldn't have touched the front end. Maybe some projector headlights would have been nice.
biased review.
hahaha
it looks uglier than ever. that's the only thing that's keeping me from buying these new gen of civics.
GROSSsS!...
2014 elantra rapes this car. about 10000000 times more refined and quiet inside also.
Nooo
you cant imagine how i love my GTI mk6 ,holy bible i vomit in my mouth
Rubbish car...
Yea it looks no fun to drive honda is just a weird company now :/ scion tc here I come!!
