Back on the dyno- ALL MOTOR D16 Round 3!

- In this episode my team and I take our all motor d16 to Rowdys Dyno in Pueblo, Colorado testing new parts. The set up in this video is:
76mm d16z6 block
NPR p29 pistons
Stock z6 rods with ARP rod bolts
Z6 head ported by Autobionix
Supertech springs Ti retainers and valves
Custom Rocket Motorsports vtec killer cam
1320Performance hood exit
Skunk2 ultra race IM cnc ported by MCP
Skunk2 k series center feed plenum
Skunk2 90mm throttle body
4” cold air intake 1320Performance v stack
BTO coil on plug kit
P28 ecu tuned by me with BMTune
Bosch 044 Snakeeater Pro 725cc injectors
Renegade methanol fuel
I think I went to big with the plenum and throttle body size. In a few days I’ll be back on the dyno with a smaller throttle body different plenum, spacers and cold air intake.

Damn! I’m impressed, basically making f20 numbers with an economy motor that is 20% smaller and 50% less cams. Also beat out many B series NA motors. I’ve always been an underdog type of guy, anything can be made fast with enough time energy and/or money, so why not start out with something people doubt and prove them wrong.
Exactly! This build is to prove that a D series can run 13s all motor at my local track in Pueblo, Colorado. I was challenged long ago and was told it could never be done. Hopefully this Friday I'll win that challenge!
Did I mention the chassis weighs 1,617 lbs with me in it 🤭

Look up Taller Pancho CRX out in Puerto Rico many years over 200whp running consistently 11.8 all motor and with no crazy mods at the time

All that for just 165hp. Though if money wasn’t an issue I would def do the same lol. Love it. I bet she pulls hard especially since it’s gutted with the Ef chassis being pretty light in the first place. Kudos for building a d16 instead of swapping for a K.

What is the end goal numbers for this thing?
It looks like its built for drag racing, but these arent really dragracing numbers.
My stock 1999 Civic 1.5Lsi makes 115 stock, and Im not setting up to dragrace anyone with it.

Not a single issue
If the head isnt ported you can def get 200. Ill port and polish it for you.

Around 12:1
@@destroiyou I'm doing a stroker with rockets stage 8 but my compression will be 13.5:1 I'm concerned about stock rods tho
@@critterproformance1824 stock rods are okay up to 250 whp. What pistons rods and crank are you using to increase stroke?
@@destroiyou it's a d16 with d17 crank with p29 pistons and .098 gasket

Please make a video on it lol I wanna see! Mine has a stock k24a2 with bolt ons and a ppg dog box and will be tuned on haltech with the traction control goodies. My cars been cut up slightly. I’m hoping for something in the mid to low 12’s
@@DoubleJaysGarage Will do! Hell yeah very nice set up. If you've got a strain gauge oh man youll be running low 10s easy. My car is cut up and weighs 1615ish pounds with me in it . I imagine you're somewhere in the 1850 lbs range?
@@destroiyou yeah my guess is right around 1800 or so I need to weigh it. My goal is to go 9’s all motor then I want to build a turbo motor and go faster. End goal is an 8.50. That’s moving in an EF chassis. I’ll be watching to see how things go for you! Good luck man!

Im glad you asked! Lots of different things. The major differences are:
-DA during the 182 hp pulls was 6500 feet, the 167 hp pulls 8700 feet above sea level
-182 hp VP M1 fuel used 167 renegade methanol
-182 hp cam gear was -1* 167 pull cam gear was +2
-182 hp run had 4” snorkel intake 167 hp run had a 4” cold air intake with 11” velocity stack
-dyno was moved from an in the air set up with ramps to an in ground unit and was recalibrated by Superflow between the two dyno sessions. Also different dyno operators
