Thank you! Took my controller apart a year ago to fix a drifting analogue stick. Unfortunately the controller stopped working after a few weeks. Thought I'd try repair it and had a feeling it was something to do with the USB port and not charging up. Took it apart and found the ribbon wasn't plugged all the way in. Somehow I put the plastic black and white strips back together wrong and then couldn't get the controller put back together. Watched your guide for the part at 3:25 and now I've managed to put it back together. Can't begin to tell you the incredible satisfaction I got seeing the orange light bar come on after so long when I plugged in the USB lead. Now back to having two working controllers. Thanks!
Man it was easy taking it apart to clean it but i spent about an hour trying to get the touchpad back into place until i found this video and now i know it goes up and over the little bit of plastic on the top of the pad thank you you're a life saver mate i feel like such an idiot for that.

With loud Whispers echoing between ones ears. Every day, even after years it can get harder to stay clean and keep our heads clear and this is when the whispers will turn into yells, and yells into screams we will forever be fighting, even in dreams!

did you diagnose what exact part was wrong? my mother split tea on mine, and my triangle stopped working, ive taken it apart and cleaned the membrane etc several times but no joy as of yet :( any tips?

It's the reset button located top right of battery compartment. The newer ones this piece is built into what I call battery cradle but older controllers was a button that fell out. I hope this helps you out! Benji Bentley Condemned Customs Sent from my iPhone

Putting the touch pad on first is the only way to go. Same with leavin battery off. It’s impossible to assemble with the touch pad connected. Easier with the battery off. Thanks a ton!
Very helpful and informative video! Was able to disassemble one of my older PS4 controllers for the first time and clean it out. (right section of d-pad was jammed/unresponsive). Was able to the fix d-pad but fucked up the prongs on the ribbon that connects to the touch-pad. Still, very useful video and I learned a lot.
Dude i used the disassembly video and this one and they helped me a lot, yes that little spring is a bitch but i got it, i had to take mine apart because i spilled monster all over it and it was all sticky, thanks bro
The way you close up your controller makes it look so easy! I try that method, but the L2 and R2 buttons keep separating whenever I keep trying to close the grip handles together. Do you think you'd have a better way of explaining of how to do it for someone at home?

One question still remains, I think my left analog stick is permanently damaged, sometimes it doesn't respond at all to my thumb movements. I found the replacement parts on ebay, but couldn't find a way to get it out of the board, it seems it's welded on it. Do you think there is a way to remove it of the board, so I could put a new one? Thans again!

It is completely impossible to put the goddamn touchpad wire back in.
Frank Angel make sure battery cradle is removed aka black plastic that battery sits on! This will make it much easier to plug back in!

My L2 Trigger was in a constant "ON" position. This video helped me take it apart and re-place the parts back in. But DAMN those springs!!!!!

I replaced my triggers and now they are automatically pressed on any game I play

The spring was the real challenge, but after setting the project down for a day or two I got it in the first try.

ive found that for the L2 and R2 buttons its better to install them firts and then slide over the back cover

Note: Blue should face inside, otherwise the light will not work and controller won't charge
Good video but he put the light bar ribbon in backwards. Definitely want the blue side facing inward, it even looks more natural
