    No way you haven't already broken the clips on that controller. The top part doesn't just come off the bottom that easily when you remove the screws.

    • @arbiter-
      @arbiter- 5 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      @@hArDsTyLe2259 There are 4 plastic clips on the inside that lock the two shell pieces together. It's very difficult to open a DS4 without breaking any.

      Until I see someone...ANYONE open a DualShock 4 properly (without damaging the shell with prying tools or breaking the two top inner hinges), there is no best and this one unfortunately falls short.
      Of course the creator of the video commented that they “don’t like those” but that doesn’t matter. Sony put them there for a reason and we have to deal with them properly when attempting to open the controller itself.

      José Machado how did you fix it?

    • @josemachado2583
      @josemachado2583 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a gold v2 controller, after you removed the screws I suggest start taking the case of from the bottom, then you go lift the other edges of the controller to loose it up, you can also use a flat head screwdriver to put it between the open parts of the case but be careful not to go too deep and dont lift it because you can scrape the plastic edges of the controller, then I did all the procedures in the video, first remove the batterie before the pad plug, once yo get to the analog you see two green plastic things, you need to pull them from the top, get a thin tool and try to use it as a leever, once you opened the green plastics you reemove the white plastic and copper part, it just comes on its own, when you removed that piece you need a cue tip and alcohol, put the alcohol in the cue tip and clean the housing of where the white part was located, be gentle, once you cleaned it put the white parts again, i suggest to look how they were on the first place because you they fit in a specific position, once they're placed close the green plastic, it will be hard to put it back so you have to apply force, once you hear a click its closed you can put the controller back in the same order. I'm going to link another video that I also used, you just need to be careful and cautious not to rip cables and damage the motherboard, but other than that it's not so hard. Sorry if I didn't make a lot of sense im from Ecuador man, good luck

    I tried cleaning my PS4 controller today and in the process of removing certain pieces I accidentally snipped the red cord on the left vibrator piece and it scared the crap out of me since I didn't know what I just snipped until I watched this video. Good to know it was something not really that necessary to me.

    There is a gen 5 too. I just purchased a new silver DS4 and after taking the inner scew out, the whole unit comes out except d pad power button and action buttons. I was bummed because I wanted to mod the select/ options buttons with crystal clear buttons. I could not remove the buttons off the main plastic unit.

  • @bobskie321
    @bobskie321 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    7:33 Only the L2 & R2 are pressure sensitive because the carbons are still connected. The gaps on carbons on the rest of the buttons are like the Dual Shock 1 which are not pressure sensitive. So it could have some issues on some PS2 & PS3 games if the PS4 is backward compatible with PS2 & PS3 disc-based games. No problem with digital downloads because they can tweak the game's controller configuration anyway. That could be one of the reasons Sony did not allow the PS4 to play PS2 disc-based games although the hardware can emulate them which hackers successfully run their PS2 games on their PS4 system although the PS4 can't physically run PS3 disc-based games due to very complex architecture.

    • @lols11
      @lols11 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem you are writing about can be easly fixed by software update. Btw. DS4 as output from L2 & R2 sends normal analog signal but also digital. It can be easy checked by connecting DS4 to PC and using game controllers menu.

    I know this is a older video, but it's the model of my dualshock 4 controller. When you took off the two rubber conductive pads what was the plastic underneath? I feel like whatever that is underneath is what is wrong with my L2 trigger. I dropped my controller on its left side one day and the L2 trigger stopped responding ever since. I know it's not the conductive pads because I have switched cond pads multiple times with no success. Thank you

    I just purchased a PS4 controller on ebay for $45.
    I believe it is a Chinese fake. Of course the controllers are manufactured in China, but China steals everything and tries to resell it.
    I decided to take a peak inside the controller and I found a neon green plastic wrapped around a battery cell. It worries me a bit as I am sure this is not
    standard. It's like plastic wrapped around it. Not a hard case like the one here.
    Not to mention the internal board has far more action going on than the one here.
    What do you think?
    The reason I purchased this one is because the brand new one I bought during black Friday is already failing. I'm getting the right joystick stuck to the left slightly when I let go and it causes drift. It's frustrating as hell. I don't know if I should take that one apart and take a look or just toss it.

    Hi! Can you maybe explain me why all the dualshock 4 models, also the brand new versions (crystal, ps4 pro cuh7100 included ones etc...) make those creeking sounds if they flexed a little bit? It feels kinda the chassis aren’t screwed properly but they are actually?!... Some developing it after a few hours, some out of the box! I really hate that, makes it feel so bad and cheap... Is there a possible fix eventually? Big thanks

    Hello, mate! Awesome videos, helped a lot! Would you mind one little question? I'm trying to do a mod and remap some buttons with simple remap board from aliexpress (the small one, one side of which sticks into controller between flex pcb and main pcb boards) but i can't get triggers to work. Basically i want remap triggers to buttons. Everything else works fine, r2/l2 wires seem to be well soldered but still doesn't work. On the controller they still work, but remap board wires doesn't seem to do anything however. Is there any kind of trick? I'm desperate, there's no information about that anywhere. Hope for your help! Thank you!

      Wessel no some people just get rid of them because they prefer no vibrations since it disrupts gameplay but most keep them on just in case

    Can you please tell me what the touchpad ribbon actually does? I took my controller apart to fix something and when I connected it again the controller wouldn’t turn on at all. I disconnected that ribbon and it all works I can even press the touchpad and it works. I’m so confused lol

    My ps4 gen 4 controller touchpad seems to be jammed and I already checked the inside multiple times and the only thing that is broke one of the tiny bits of black plastic from the plastic battery holder that goes into the motherboard any ideas on how to fix this?

    Is there any place or way I can fix the motherboard wires connected to the ends of the controller the red wire is broken

    • @davidbell4971

      Use a solidering iron to melt the solder on the circuit board and once it is melted, place the red wire into the melted solder and allow it to cool. Your rumble vibrators should work now.

    Hi so, my ps4 slim/pro controller has a different model number.
    4-698-771-23F2. I was attempting to mod my controller and the share/option buttons do NOT come out. Just thought it’d be nice if you could make a short video on that specifically since I cannot find anything else about them.
