Glady, thank you. I had watched and a different video earlier that basically said to disregard the spring, I'm SO happy I decided to watch your video. kudos
Thanks for this detailed video, it helped me a lot getting the spring in the right place after much fiddeling and get an explanation to repair missing pressure point for R1/L1 buttons. Good job!!!
Thanks for the video. Im rebuilding a controller as a late christmas present (back ordered parts) for my brother. Also you remind me of Daniel Cormier for some reason just saying lol
Duuude thank you soo much! I messed up this spring a few times. Hands down best video for this repair, everything else is sad attempt. I watched so many before finding yours, Legendary indeed.
Mister X lol I got so sick of trying to look it up I just stared at it long enough and when I figured it out went into as much detail as I could cause of how much of a pain it caused lol
Insane that I am still helping ppl 5 years later lol I honestly switched to playing on twitch but man everytime I see a comment I consider coming back and making videos. I appreciate you homie
My man, I was on the floor with a flashlight in broad daylight looking for my springs. After a few hrs of raging I found this video and my springs. Man, Thank you!! I cant even explain the Euphoric feeling I felt when the last one clicked in and I squeezed them triggers!
You’re a genius!! Thank you so much!! I spent over 5-6 hours trying to put one controller back together after changing the R2 and analogues. The spring was the hardest to figure out. My R2 wouldn’t work properly until I saw your video! I had to surf thru 10-20 other videos to get to yours. Each one before just skipped fast thru the most important part like it was supposedly super easy. But you made it easy for real by explaining it! Thanks again!!
I appreciate it man. Been a bit down lately and it's comments like these that has me want to make more videos. It's still a little hard to get started again.
This video is perfect. Everyone here just shows video of dissembling the controller and just popping the button back inside and they never explain in detail, like how you did, where to put the spring and how to hold it. Amazing video, love it bro
So glad i found this video! i was taking apart my controller to clean out and my R2 button came out and the spring fell off. I was having such a hard time getting it back on. OMG dude you are a life saver!
Cheers friend. Just replaced broken L2 and worn analogues for my son's controller. He now thinks I'm a genius. Your video is great and still helping people nearly five years on. Genuine thanks to you. Liked and subbed.
Thank you so much! I was taking controller apart to get broken headphone jack out and the L2 button & spring came off when I popped the front and back covers off! I didn't even know where the spring was supposed to go - THEN, found your video! YAY
When I Did it my self when I was done I said exactly this " thank you thank you" when I tried to do it by by self I gave up but the video showed me how to do it and it was so easy thank you.
I was replacing a dead battery and the spring popped off. Your video saved me a ton of time figuring out how the spring is fit in the housing. Thank you!
Thabk you for actually explaining how to do this because I followed your video just now after I replaced a swollen battery with one from a dead controller and knocked my springs off.
Youre a life saver. I took my controller apart to fix sticky X key and had this damn spring left over. After watching this video I was able to correctly put it back. Well done.
good vid but lots of waffle at the start. For main action start from about 4:30 where the fitting actually begins. Thanks for taking the time to make this though.
Thank you so much! That helped me so much. No one else has explained the spring position well enough. This made it easy to understand and i was able to do it right away.
That lip screwed me over! L2 busted. "Oh well." Not until this video did I bother to check that detail... which I didn't even know was a detail to check. Now it works. Thanks.
I was stuck for an hour how to put it back. I accidentally dropped the spring when replacing the battery. This really helped me a lot. I got it in in 2 tries coz my finger is too big 😄. Thanks 'man!
Dude, I had it almost put together thinking I was done until you mentioned to check the silicon membrane. I checked and sure enough, it was loose. Thanks for saving an extra 15+ minutes.
Man you don't have idea how much you have helped me! I just fixed the controller after an entire morning loosing energy trying to fix it! Thank you very much!!! Best wishes for the future 🤗☺️
You have no idea how much that means to me. A lot of times I juggle back and forth with the whole "should I keep making videos". Mostly through depression or procrastination I end up not but every now and then a comment like yours comes by and re-inspires me. I have been upgrading equipment. So at the least I'm not shooting on an iphone 6s on a flipped cd container with chop sticks .🤣 Humble beginnings right?
@@GreighThunda This video is just life-saver and does perfectly its job even without the perfect shots. But if you have a better equipment I'm just happy for you, I'll check out your other videos too, they are for sure interesting
Ps. To be honest you could open a link for donations, I think that a video like this even if little it deserves some more compliment than just a like ;)
Here's a tip move the controller onto the button using gravity to keep the spring down... Don't move the button on to the controller. super easy use gravity let the spring float down hold steady and move the controller slot on top and snap it in. nice video!
Bro I was trying hard and almost threw my controller but trust me if you keep rewatching and fully listening it will work and btw I did this on a new gen controller and old gen I LOVE YU SO MUCH MAN U SAVED ME 60 bucks
Thanks my friend. After watching 2 other vids I watched yours. Got replacement triggers real cheap on eBay. Replaced broken L2 And now it works.. Thank you.
YO!! I just came across your video today! I was able to repair 2 of my old remotes off of this video. Thanks man! Wish I could like this vid a 1000 times!
Dude. You rock. I was going BSC trying to snap the triggers in on the wrong place and the springs kept jumping off... Excellent instructions of the how and why. Totally subscribing. THANKS
Hey Buddy, thanks so much about the spring reinstall. I was repairing my sons joystick and was dumbfounded about how the spring would reattach, duh! Thanks again!
had to replace the battery on mine, and while taking it apart that slring came out and i had no idea how to get it back on. Thanks for the detailed video!
Dude you saved my life. I opened up my PS4 controller because my down button on the D-pad wasn't working, so I fixed that and tried it out and it worked. But then I noticed that my L2 and R2 buttons weren't working properly. They were like stuck and not springing back. I had to open it again, painfully, and figure out what was up. I watched so many videos on how to fix them but none of them except yours explained how to do it properly. I didn't think it was that easy. You just saved me $60. You got yourself a new supporter.

Thank you I struggled with the springs because they jumped out when I opened the controller the first time, thanks to u I got them back in in a heartbeat
Thanks! All I needed to do with mine was put that silicon pad back over the lip you mentioned. I just traded my controller with my bro since he needs the light part for his VR and I sold my VR so I didn’t need it working for any of my game play. I started to play and low and be gold, L2 is down for the count. This was an easy fix only after watching your video. Surprisingly no one mentioned that pad thing from the videos I’ve watched. Thanks again.
Thank you so much! I had to replace my D-pad and as hard as I tried not to disturb the triggers, they came out anyway and I dreaded trying to put them back in. You are a life saver!
Thanks for making this video man! You can't imagine how useful this was to me! Without this video, I wouldn't of been able to get my R2 back on properly..... thanks a lot man!
If I saved you $60 please sub! Thats all I ask lol
I'm gonna be doing a similar video with the PS4 and it's CD drive
