Great! This helped so much thank you. Just replaced a battery on an old one that has not worked in years and it works perfectly now. Basically got a new controller for the cost of a 15 dollar replacement battery.
I spent 45 minutes trying to put the l2 & r2 springs on only to come to your video and hear you technically don't need them. So I said screw it and left them out. For the life of me I can't get them back on the triggers. Thanks for the video man
or as the link doesnt work search on youtube for how to change battery on dualshock ps4 controller and the guy shows how to put the spring on he has a 20th anneversary controller so you can see witch video it is

Awesome video bro. I watched another video, after someone spelt shit in my buttons.., than pulled it apart and all of a sudden more pieces came out than in his video.. The springs part wasn't to in depth but you showed how they go on and it clips back so if your not ignorant you could get that.. Only thing you kinda skipped on was the 2 pieces you put back in after you put the board back on.. You said this is where tweezers come in handy and then used ur hands and said they dropped right in... Whered they drop in too lol. Ima bout to figure it out, just watched a couple videos before this one and yours is pretty much everything I needed to see in 1.... I felt like making one after everyone else's but now theres no need. Preciate it
Holy shit was that a challenge. I tore it down to the base parts. Then the springs for the R2,L2 buttons both fell off. Drove me nuts trying to get those back on and attached to the main controller. I wiped it all down, reassembled it and tested it out - controller turned on (Hurrah) but the X button was still dead (Booo). But at least I did it. I needed to check if I had to waste another $50 for a controller. Looks like I do. Fuck you, X button.

I have a different type of controller. I'm not sure what it is exactly but I noticed the port where you plug in the battery is horizontal on mine. I'm saying this cause I'm having trouble putting the spring back together
Helped a lot but that last part you said about unplugging that last cable was not a good idea I want you to make a new video because that cable is for the charging cable without it you would have no power
