- Troodon first look and dino spotlight! Update 253 - Coming soon to Ark: Survival Evolved: four new dinos and and Tek Gear! You thought the Compy was annoying, well say hello to the Troodon. The Troodon is very similar to the Compy besides the fact that the Troodon will attack you whether they are alone or in a pack. They also inflict Troodon poisoning which will lower your stamina over time. So make sure you stay away from a pack of Troodon unless you have a rocket launcher ready.
Wild: Quite possibly the most intelligent non-human creature on the island, Troodon magnanimus is an incredibly fast learner. It understands meaningful experiences much more quickly than other creatures (including humans), and its social nature means it also teaches its packmates, making them more clever too!
Domesticated: I thought Troodon simply could not be tamed, until I finally saw a lone survivor with one. She told me that she let "Troody" hunt a few of her tribe's smaller creatures for sport, and it eventually started following her everywhere. It seems that while Troodon is too intelligent to fall for the rote conditioning of 'tranq-and-feed', it can instead gradually gain loyalty from a social approach that provides it the opportunity to hunt. Ever since, I have wondered at the benefits that a pack of ultra-smart, bred-for-battle Troodon may bring to a tribe brave enough to earn the favor of these clever carnivores.
Known Information: If Troodon's cleverness didn't make it formidable, then its tactics and biology do. It specifically pack-hunts at night when we are most vulnerable, and sees humans as its primary prey. This audacity is especially dangerous due to its serrated fangs' poison, which drains stamina from any creature, but outright paralyses humans. Thankfully, Troodon is fairly small. Were it larger, it might well have become the dominant creature of its ecosystem.

The Troodon is quite in interesting creature, they would be useful in base defence as well if you have a large group of them, just put them in the buffer chamber of your base or in the storage area to help keep all that delicious loot nice and safe

wait i saw one of these on scorched earth last night and im on ps4... was roaming around to get a new jeoba as mine got eatten by a raptor (sad times) then i saw one of these knocked it out and saddest thing happened i got ravaged by a wolf x2 and never seen one since
oh god in this they were slow but now that they're here theres no running unless of something fast like a raptor or galli XD
I am PS4 player and I've been waiting since summer 2015 but it was worth the wait!
Instead of stamina loss, I think the troodon bite should start a timer in which if youu don't take a certain medicine, you get paralyzed (ur mmovements are really jerky and you rapidly lose health). When you respawn, the timer resets.
Are all creatures from from the pc version on ps4 aswell?

Hey man i love the effort you are putting in your new Role Play server and the registration is fine but the admins are too severe.Ispent 2 hr thinking and writing a story and still was not accepted to the server note that i have been in the server before i really think that they should acept everyone who took the time and effort in writing a story and making up their character

Because it would have been virtually impossible for troodon or any known dinosaur to have it's hands/claws in that forward facing position. Their hands/claws are supposed to be at the side just like how modern avian dinosaurs/birds have their wings to the side to flap. It's like looking at a human with it's arms in reverse.

Johnny G. They arent forward.
They are pronated so yes they are forward. A pronated hand/wrist has the palm face the ground, humans can for example pronate our hands as can things like a Kangaroo.
But birds and theropod dinosaurs could not. Their hands were bent in a peculiar fashion. For the likes of T.rex or Allosaurus, the hands had the palm pointing towards the chest with the fingers curving inwards. However for a dinosaur like Troodon, it had arms like a bird. Have you ever seen a Thanksgiving turkey, or a fried chicken? basically like that. The digit that is the wing is in the same position as the fingers of Troodon or Therezinosaurus, basically all the more advanced coelurosaurs. So when you look at a turkey carcass you see the elbow bends close to the body and the wing goes down the side. Same for a Troodon/Raptor. The claws point inwards like the T,rex, but the wrist is not aligned with the forearm, it is bent back towards the elbow. Google a turkey if you do not understand what i mean.

Chances are once it's released the bite of one of these little suckers will be capable of sending anyone into lala land before brutality ripping the flesh off there bones and eating there innards while they're still alive.... özden cengiz It will be able to paralyze people once it is finished, it will also be nocturnal like the Megalosaurus. At the moment though it is simply a stamina draining Compy that uses Raptor sounds

same reason sl1pg8r says what is up the world and peeps, just sayings to keep people entertained and the shaft is basically a clan from what i can tell. and nooblets doesnt really do anything but give amazing tutorials and stuff. so for ark you have sl1pg8r for entertainment, thickfreedom for mostly ev3rything and nooblets for tutorials and how to play and game mechanics. i recommend all three as they are some of the best.

So I feel they made these dino's too op xD they are a lot faster than you have decent attack and there claws can paralyse just like a snake bite so it you get bit depending on your fortitude then your dead >.< I've also seen the little blighters either learn to open a door or tear through a wooden door pretty fast as when I woke up in the bed... it was there staring at me O.o killed me tore the bed up and haven't been back since. not sure what other peoples experience but every time I see one if it gets to me I'm dead and I'm not slow with a movement speed of 140% xD so beware :P
