    I let my 15 year old son watch the I-quit match. He told me, "Dad, these two guys are trying to kill each other. This is the most incredible match I have ever seen."

    jj was the best in ring performer as a manager. he took the best bumps and I truly enjoyed every match he was ever involved in. he looks amazing ...I can't believe how he looks the same as when I watched him 35 years ago. he is a legend in the business

    Fantastic. I was lucky enough to have attended some of the NWA shows at The Philadelphia Civic Center during that amazing period of the Horseman from 85-88....

    The barry windham heel turn on luger is IMO the best of all time. At the end when he and j.j. are slinking off and they both flash the four fingers is amazing. Still gives me goosebumps..

    Just seeing Magnum with all those braces just shows, even after all these years, how bad it was and how lucky he was to survived that horrible accident.

      Sometimes surviving such an accident can at many times with dealing with limitations and pain and constant troubles makes me feel so envious of those who didn't survive.

      I never knew that until I saw Tessa Blanchard cutting promos for Women of Wrestling and read her profile!! That's something you find very unusual but I'm glad to see it worked!!

    Still makes me laugh when the host/ announcer wasn't even an embryo when these legends wrestled. Glad when he shut up. Tully should have been introduced as one of the greatest wrestling tacticians ever. #Horsemen4Ever

    You can trace the eventual death of Jim Crockett Promotions, the NWA and WCW back to when Tully and Arn went to WWF

    • @nellbowie7986
      @nellbowie7986 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Or when Jim Herd refused to hire back Tully because of a positive drug test in WWF

    • @colonelrobertsjr.7882
      @colonelrobertsjr.7882 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There were too many problems going on when Jim Herd was running WCW. Even if Tully passed the drug test and allowed the Horsemen to fully reunite, Herd would've botched that simply because that's what he did.

    Greatest faction in the history of the business...IMO. My favorite iteration was the original...with Ole (no disrespect to Barry Windham who was an A+++ worker). Flair. the flambouyant, the leader, a great talker. Tully, the frat boy of the group, the guy you wanted to smack because he looked like he had a golden spoon in his mouth...good talker. Arn...broke it down to brass tacks...you knew he meant business... the muscle of the group...Ole...good talker as well. straight shooter like Arn...had that tough guy image. In the pantheon of tag teams...Arn and Tully have got to be up there. Both ring generals and had great continuity.

    Look at how for the most part it was a THREE YEAR PERIOD for this group and they made such an impact and mattered so much here we are discussing in 2018 and beyond.
    Meanwhile look at the last DECADE of pro wrestling and find me anything that even stands out that doesn’t blend together.
    Cena vs Orton was a feud for longer than the Horsemen mattered and that sure as hell isn’t some legacy feud that changed the game.
    Roman Reigns main evented more WrestleManias in a row than the years the original Horsemen were together and that isn’t some long lasting big deal anyone will care about.
    Oh well, it’s Cornette style but the problem is now it’s a damned TV show and nobody is invested and nobody cares beyond the spots and t shirts versus the 80s and before where people cared.
    We didn’t have Tully Blanchard on Instagram or Twitter sharing photos of hanging out with someone he was feuding with while today WWE talent leaves the show at the show and it makes it harder to get invested and suspend disbelief the more you get shoved in your face how phony it is.
    Can’t put the genie in the bottle so at least I can watch stuff like this.
    And the reason I listen so intently at behind the scenes stories from back in the day is because kayfabe existed and it was MAGIC.
    It’s magic to see these guys out of character still to this day because they were full time heels back then and that’s all we knew of them.
    It was better for that for sure.
    Thanks Hannibal, love the channel and cannot believe this crazy content for free.
    I LOVE Kayfabe Commentaries but recent releases of theirs are not worth the $20 and meanwhile your channel has shoot after shoot after shoot that trumps so much of that or say an RF offers. (RF is a scumbag so no idea what he sells now since I wouldn’t see anyone tossing him a penny unless there were 1,000 of them in a tube sock being swung in his direction)

    At 53:00 JJ talks about the $100,000 match between Dusty-Tully on WWW in June 1987. He says he felt horrible shoving Magnum who was holding the bag of money...Thats exactly correct either. Yes JJ grabbed the bag of money and ran out of arena...But he didnt shove him, Magnum had either grabbed Dark Journey or prevented her front grabbing the bag of money and when his back was turned, JJ grabbed the money. Only time Magnum was physically handled was early 1988 with the Tully Blanchard confrontation on TBS about not having said I quit in the starrcade 85 match and angry that tape was being marketed. Tully shoved Magnum to the ground which to Dusty coming out for save with baseball bat.

    Wonder how awkward it is for Blanchard to be on stage with the man who took his wife away after he beat her in the front yard of their house. She went to a real man while Tully went on to thump Bible's..😂😂

  • @davidfrederick3375
    @davidfrederick3375 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Listening to JJ and Tully talk about the Bunkhouse Stampede with the Horseman and Luger turning face...I dont think it had anything to due with Flair. It was just they eliminated all others and only the Horsemen were left. JJ is correct about he never imagined surviving and asked the others to eliminate themselves to win. Which concludes with Luger and Arn's argument (asking/telling)....Dont why he brought up the Luger/Brody cage match....True that Luger left the cage in the middle of match...But its because Brody stopped selling Luger's punches, etc....Referee Bill Alfonso stated Brody was a hot or bullheaded it was his problem with CWF not Luger. Luger became concerned for his own well being and left the cage by scaling the wall. Brody didnt beat him up.
