I attended a Thunder show when Penzer was the ring announcer. He's actually a pretty entertaining guy with the mic in his hand and in front of a crowd.

I will say that his take on the Sid/Arn incident doesn't seem to match up with actual events; he seems to be touting the old WCW company line from '93.
But man, so much insight on WCW.
I love when you get quirky guests that nobody elese thinks to get. Good work Hannible. Cant wait til you can do in person shoots again. See if you can get Billy Kidman. He was in the flock, beat Hogan in WCW, married Torrie, I feel he would be a gem for an interview.
There should be some in person shoots next month I'm supposed to be in the US in December as long as they don't change regulations between now and then.

penzer talks about how he had no clout or pull when al snow blamed him for hurting his tryout but then way later in the interview talks about how he did busy work for the office and talent relations at the time. wrestling business wild
he seemed really nice outside of that tho lol

David really worked his ass off in that company and to be honest he deserved the ring announcing spot more then I did simply because he was a company guy 100% and I was not that thrilled with the WCW product and wanted more of an opportunity with the WWF because I loved what they were doing and it was more like a family in the WWF and if they payed me more I would have worn more hats with responsibilities with the WWF and Vince.

wcw was nothing but sports entertainment as well. They even emulated WWF when they first came out and admitted that their product was pre-determined scripted performances. WCW followed suit and admitted the same shortly after

The ring announcing on Television for the WWF was very easy from the Gorilla Position you got your cue to start announcing when the bell rang 3 times and A lot of times I just announced the wrestlers and managers without there weights or from where they were from .

You didn't let the viewers know you also had to help set up the ring at your first announcing job. I thought we were gonna die coming back in that uhaul truck with that carny behind the wheel.

If WCW gave me a contract there would be no way I would have done everything David did as he had so much responsibility.I would have just been the ring announcer and who knows eventually they probably would have fired me

Same problem I've got Penzer. Only 5'6 with no athletic ability. But I only have 2 chins.
You could be a Referee. Get in shape. Wrestler's are getting smaller. With your height your not going to overshadow the workers.
At least now finally there is someone with more money then vince that has a chance at least to compete if it doesn't get f;'ed up....in regards to towards the end of the interview where he says no one is willing to spend the money to compete with wwe.
Yes because it has to be a billionaire like Kahn who doesn't mind loosing millions trying to get something started which nobody expected would happen when this was recorded in 2017.
The production value in WCW was horrific nothing like the WWF and David was under a tremendous amount of pressure especially trying to keep a television crowd excited for 45 minutes when they had back stage issues.I think the pressure what have been extremely difficult for me and no matter the money I probably would have quit

Just watched Graham’s clip describing it & the comments were packed with BS claims based on nothing but viewer under-Educated guesses/perceptions.

He’s trippin. WCW was not salvageable and it started to go tits up when Bischoff was in charge, he was a one trick pony (NWO) and he got lucky with Goldberg and both of those were squandered by Bischoff. Once those two were done simultaneously while WWF finally got their shit together and were at the height of Attitude (Steve Austin) and then Vince Russo just turned it into a total embarrassment: WCW would not have recovered. Good shoot tho
