Another good video Rod. One can learn more on quiet days as you can on busy ones. It's nice to see gurnards, they always let you know they are on the end.
Very true on both counts Andy. Unless you have more pressing things to do, its sometimes worth persisting when nothings really happening - you might get to find out that there is a particular feeding spell at a particular state of the tide under the conditions you are fishing and that might be of some use to you in the future. If you are only getting a few knocks, you want them to be from gurnards - they tend to hang on to your bait more so than other fish, so you are less likely to miss bites. Thanks again for watching and commenting.
Excellent as always Rod!! You showed the value of persistence and tactics. Two lovely sole!! In over 50years of fishing I have never caught one. I hope to fix this soon. I look forward to your next video.
Thanks for your kind comments Jerry. Sept. / Oct. can be a good months for soles in many areas and I've still had them in November at Hove and as early as February at Seaford. Small rag or lug on size 3 Nordic bend hooks or size 4 Aberdeens on short snoods will give you a chance of catching them; if you are at the right place at the right time, that is. I hope you do get one soon.
Shame the fish weren't in a co-operative mood but 2 enjoyable sessions / 1 great video regardless. Your filming and editing absolutely blows me away and your location / rig details are so very helpful. Cheers. Ken
I thought you were in for heavy rain rod, but it worked out well. Great stuff as always rod. Thanks for uploading the video. Kind regards Mike. Norfolk. 🐟🐟
Excellent vid again, just shows knowledge of marks and conditions essential.I would have been gone when those soles came on..I think you must have a robot with you to take some shots and carry all your gear ?
I don't have a particular technique for them and don't really set out to catch them; however, it's nice when you get one. Size 4 or 2 hooks on short snoods - flappers or clipped down with ragworm or lugworm and tipped with a small strip of fish e.g. mackerel works. As you say though - sometimes you just have to be there when the gurnards are - late summer is when I tend to catch most of mine.
Where they the colmic rods you was talking about getting rod, look very capable of throwing a lead. Also what tripod do you use I need a upgrade. Great filming once again 👍🏻
Yes Lee - Grauvell Teknos Due rods in the first session; then Colmic 07 rods in the second - these out cast the Grauvells. The tripod is a Leeda Icon. Thanks for watching and commenting Lee
Love watching your trips, calm and relaxing watching !
Glad you enjoy them - always nice to chill out Kevin!

Super video as always Rod,two nice Soles to finish with for all your hardwork.
Stay safe and keep these videos coming.
Thanks @gazellis1961👍You tend to get a feeling that they (soles) might show, so always worth waiting a little bit longer. Was lucky this time.
Smashing Video again Rod,Informative and very relaxing when watching while eating my Sunday Roast! Thanks 😁
Many thanks for that Paul - I hope I don't put anyone off their food!

Many thanks again for that Ken 👍
Well done Rod you saved the day thanks for sharing.
No problem Gary 👍 Soles tend to turn a bad session in to one which was worth the effort.
Again great vid
Rod
Many thanks for that Simon.
Really enjoy watching your videos all the way from NZ 😊
Glad you like them and thanks for saying so Ian.

Glad you enjoyed it again Mike and thanks for commenting. I don't mind fishing in the rain, but its too difficult to film properly then.
Nice one Rod some sessions are hard work for little reward mate. Tight lines for the next one
It can be hard a lot of the time; but you can't catch staying at home, so you just have to try. Thanks for watching and commenting Lee.
Yet another great video. I've had some serious plaice there.
Glad you enjoyed it Andrew - yes Seaford can produce plenty of sizeable plaice and some specimens - just hasn't been quite so good in 2020.
Enjoyed your video again look forward to next one
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for saying so Mark.

Thanks again Anthony 👍 Someone should invent a fishing autobot man servant; however it will be a long time before you'll get A.I. gut feeling.
Awesome video mate
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching @ LIVIN' THE DREAM.
Hi Rod I've been sea fishing for about 55yrs now and never caught a Gurnard of the beach or boat is there a method or is it pure luck.

Going to brighton marina tomorrow, lets get some inspiration 😁👍🏻
Hope you enjoy it and caught plenty Audrius!
RodsAngleUK It was a beautiful day with plenty of whiting cought and one sole, but nothing else special 👍🏻

Great filming and fishing Rod. How do you control the cameras?
Really enjoy your fishing trips and tips on the rigs
Thanks Rowan 👍I move the cameras about a lot and take care of the motion tracking etc. in the editing stage.
Rod - thanks
Thanks again
You're welcome Andy and thanks for watching.
