Well done Ben, I had a few great nights on the same beach over the last 2-3 months. It did get extremely busy at peak tide times. Definitely not expecting to see any squid again now until the spring.
Nice watch dude. I can’t fathom how there’s some who say they don’t enjoy this sort of fishing I think it’s great fun 😂 I’m going to miss it now it’s over.
Thanks Ben. I am a bit gutted I didn't do more of it from the shingle with the light setup as its much more fun then on the boat. Is it around March they come back?
@ More like the end of it/first week in April I believe but Robin will the one to know for sure on that front. I really got into off the shingle this year and had some great fun. I didn’t return any though as they only have a 1-2 year life span and grow fast so all mine went in my bait freezer or someone else’s if they were not eaten. Did well on the Cuttles to for my eel fishing so been good on all fronts!
Good vid, but @5:45 Umm.. don’t take more than you need 🤦♂️ I’ve got a freezer. I need to freeze more than I’ve got space as I could eat more than I could catch and eat as well as use for bait 😉👍👍
Nope. To be honest a squid’s life span is around 1 year so take as many as you want as long as your going to use for bait or eat. My point didn’t come across very well 🤣 people sometimes get carried away and take loads with no way to eat them all or have no storage for bait.
To be quite clear ...... If there was a thousand people catching the squid and keeping all they catch would not make a difference to the stocks ..... Would probably be better as the ocean is over run with them ........ But still don't waste ....... Fill your freezer for food or bait 🐙 wouldn't say the same for bass or cod and fish of that nature ....... Eat squid put the bass back 🐟
Yes there were you are right! Fun fact squid only live for around 1 year 👌 I took loads just hate seeing people leave them in the beach or being wasted as you said 👍
Some people say using a light attracts the squid some say it doesn’t and it scares them off. I personally think the light attracts the bait fish but it’s not needed so the darker the better.
Do you think they will be still here after this blow? Leave a comment and let me know 👇
I have never caught that many in the spring, most have been on the smaller size unfortunately mate
@ ok thanks Simon 👊
Awesome vid mate, editing and sound effects are great. Flows really well keep it up bud.

Cracking vid mate - Been using that rod for a while, fantastic bit of kit.

Thanks Simon, yeah I reckon the same. In spring will they be small or large squid do you think?
So is this mostly in the warmer months>?
@ no not necessarily. As they arrive back at the end around October to December. 😊

Appreciate it!!
Found the reel.. but could not understand what rod your using ?
Hello David, a link is in the description for you. It’s a cracking rod and reel! Enjoy
They work well on a pike float too
Oh nice I’ve never tried that.
I have done this from Thai jettys and beaches so assumed they were only in hot countries , would never have guessed this
There were hundreds of thousands of squid caught this year, people have never seen so many! Back again in march.
@@SouthysFishing may come down see if I can get a spot , need to be where there is lighting I guess apart from a full moon.
@ you’ll be surprised I done the best without any light!
@@SouthysFishing ok thanks , fishing doesn't always go by the book .
@ exactly. Please check out my other videos if you get a minute. Have a nice evening.
Were there people there taking more than they needed?

@@n.w.londoner6369 thanks for watching brother 🙏
If you use more light, would it cause issues getting the fish? ... #Clueless...

Or maybe just bora can't remember
Not sure
Do you like catchin sewage???
